Reclaiming Light Cut Content: I Love Her

I Love Her was a cut clip from Reclaiming Light. The scene took place right before The Hidden Room, as Fang has a late night at work. However, she feels down on her luck at the bar because she wants to pop the question to Lightning but is scared to death. With a little help and bickering with a few of her friends, this story showcases that Lady Luck is extremely lucky. This clip was cut only because I lost the original file for the clip, but after careful reconsideration decided to retype it.

NORA House was starting to slow down for the night as Oerba Yun Fang sighed, throwing her towel on the bar and stretched.

"I'm surprised we had an excellent turnout tonight," Lebreau yawned, looking at the brunette as she took a seat at the bar.

"Well, I know how to keep them buying," Fang said flatly.

Tifa placed her plate in front of her, "You deserve a break before we clean Fang."

"Maybe I do," Fang admits looking down at the sandwich and fries in front of her and gently pushed it away from her as she looked at Snow, who was sitting with Yuj, Maqui, and Gadot.

The NORA guys left as Snow moved over towards the bar, "My usual," he ordered as he took a seat next to Fang. "At least that meeting is over. Also, we've not been experiencing anything suspicious in both Bodhum, Eden, and Palumpolum, but there's still time before something crazy goes down."

"Well, that's good news," Lebreau said before noticing Fang holding something in her hands. She noticed a small black box as the Oerban flipped it open, revealing blue silk which held a ring in the center. It was a gold band with two diamonds and a beautiful gem that Lebreau couldn't tell. "Whatcha got there, Fang?"

Fang was quick to put it back in her pocket as she looked at Lebreau with slight embarrassment. "Nothing," she answered quickly as Tifa went to the backroom to do a bit of inventory, leaving Fang, Lebreau, and Snow to talk.

"Fang, you're hiding something," Snow said between bites, "I may not be around as much, but at least Serah and I are working out our problems. Now you are reclusive and hiding something from us all. Spill the beans."

"Snow, she doesn't have to if she doesn't want to," Lebreau sighed as Snow reached over and tried to grab the box from Fang's hand, earning a hard punch to the side.

"Stop it!" Fang growled, looking at Snow as she put the box on the table in front of her looking rather upset.

"I was trying to see. No need to get defensive, Fang," Snow sighed as Lebreau looked at him with slight annoyance, watching as Fang got up from her seat and took the box and moved with her plate.

"I was going to ask you a serious thing, Snow, but you screwed up," Fang looked at him with annoyance before taking a seat at her table and ate quickly.

Lebreau came up behind Snow and hit him in the head, "Now look what you did."

"I was only trying to—see…."

"No, Snow, Fang is right. You did screw this one up," Lebreau looked at her friend before excusing herself to sit with Fang.

Fang looked at Lebreau and sighed, "What do you want 'Breau? Gonna grab my prized possession out of my hand too?"

"No, but I got a look when you opened it; all I was gonna say was it is beautiful Fang, and I gotta ask, is it for Lightning?"

Fang looked at Lebreau and sighed, "Yes, it is, but was going to ask you and Snow an opinion, but now I don't know if I should," Fang was still a bit tense.

"Snow's not that bad, and you overreacted a tad, but I also see where you are coming from too. Not every day, I see you holding a valuable item, let alone one you intend to give your girlfriend. Lightning may be my ex, but you two work. I might not say it out loud to Light, but I'm jealous. I see my ex and go, 'wow, she's got a glow to her.' You bring out that glow, and I'm really excited to see what the future holds for you two," Lebreau admits, noticing as Snow moved towards the table.

"Look, Fang, I'm sorry. I got a bit handsy and tried to grab your box from your hand, but I know I was wrong."

Fang sighed and looked at the blonde, "I'm sorry for shouting at you, but this is my most prized possession. It was the last thing I had in my possession that belonged to my parents, and it was part of my dowry," she admits, "Caspian Farron gave my father this ring as payment for me to marry whoever I want, but also as a gift that made our tribe and the Guardian Corps allies."

"What do you plan on doing with it?" Snow asked.

"Well, I want to ask Lightning to marry me. We've been together for quite some time now, and it's one of those I think I'm ready to pop the question," Fang said between bites of her sandwich, sliding the empty plate away from her.

"You're gonna ask Lightning Farron to marry you? Isn't it still early in your relationship?"

Fang didn't meet Snow's eyes, "We might have been in our relationship for less time than you and Serah, but we wouldn't get married until probably a year or two more," Fang sighed, looking down. "She probably wouldn't say yes. With all the extra drama and losing her job, Lightning is starting to go a bit downhill, and I thought maybe if I ask her, it would at least distract her from the trouble in her life."

"So, basically ask her to marry you, but wait longer to get married? That actually sounds cute, Fang," Lebreau smiled.

"But you really want her to rush away from the alter as Serah did?" Snow asked.

Fang shot him a glance, "I don't deserve Light at all."

"You really do," Lebreau countered, "And Lightning deserves you as well."

Fang shook her head and didn't meet Lebreau's soft brown eyes, looking down in sadness.

Snow clapped a hand on her shoulder, "You've been with Light since she pretty much tried to arrest you; now you are having second thoughts because you don't think you are good enough? You were the one who asked her out in the first place!"

Fang shot Snow a look not meeting his eyes. "Lightning deserves me? After everything, I put her through?! We fought several times, and I become a good source of stress relief for her, but I don't think I can go through with it. Lightning doesn't deserve me; she deserves someone who can treat her better," Fang looked down; a small sniffle escaped from her nose. She felt the sting of tears along with her eyes as she didn't meet anyone's eyes as the tears slid down her face.

She didn't let anyone see, as she brought herself upright and eventually felt Lebreau's hand on her shoulder.

"Fang, you might be having doubts, but you're in a safe place. After all, you are NORA for life. You came to work for me with your sister, and now you are treated like family. As your friend, I want you to know you are doing wonderfully," Lebreau smiled.

Fang didn't meet her eyes, "I love her so much, and yet I am afraid of asking her a simple question. Why is it so easy to ask someone to marry you, but when it's your turn to do so, you freeze up then?"

Lebreau looked at Snow, "Well, you're nervous for starters," the brunette offered the Oerban her hand, as Fang slowly placed her hand in the barkeep's hand, as she gave her a look feeling the clammy dampness of Fang's sweaty palms. "So, you are nervous," Lebreau muttered, wiping her hands on her apron as Fang pulled her hands back.

"I've been telling you that," Fang grumbled.

"Well, I think it's stupid you are worrying, Fang," Snow interjects. "You're acting stupid."

Fang shot Snow another glance as the blonde looked at her once more.

"If I'm acting stupid, then you must be the ringleader of stupidity," Fang nearly yelled.

"I'm getting there; what happened to Lady Luck? She's kept you safe and always happy go lucky any other time; why's this any different?"

"Because Lightning is out of my league! How could she love someone who is possibly a danger? Someone who has been or started fights with her? Someone who asked more of her than she wanted? The person who is probably the worst person for her, and yet I'm the one who likes seeing her smile… I want to be there to catch her tears, fill her sky with star showers, and make that empty void full… I gave her a piece, but after that last fight, I don't deserve her, and yet she was the one who nursed me back to health when I was sick…" Fang looked down, sniffling once more.

"Fang, you've done more than that; you survived Bodhum since you were ten on your own. Remember that fearless kid in Eden? You ran with us, and yet we enjoyed your company."

Fang tried to remember, but with memory problems, she looked at Snow, "And you were that kid who led that vigilante group… Eden Orphanage until we were kicked out. You helped me more times than I could count," she muttered.

Snow looked at Fang, "You remember."

Fang nodded her head, "Vanille and I were sent to Eden and Bodhum Orphanages from Pulse. While in Eden, you formed NORA. You lead a group of kids around, helping kids my age, older and younger, and made runs for them. I remember watching your crew. You guys helped my sister and me out of a few jams."

Snow nodded, "And yet once you were old enough, you lost contact with us. You went your way, and we went our way. It wasn't until I started dating Serah, and Light started dating you that you found Lebreau, who was our newest member, and that was because of Lightning."

Fang nodded meekly, "I'm surprised I remembered that, but also the fact that Lightning sent me here of all places."

"We wouldn't have had you with us Ms. Lady-Luck had she not intervened and let you go. Believe me, if Light took you in, I don't think you would've had the same good company," Snow said staring at his beer, as he picked up the glass and took a drink. "But you saying you aren't good enough for Lightning is like you saying you are giving up. Don't do it. Sort of like I'm working at my relationship again with Serah. We may have had miscommunication but we are working at it again, and now we have an accidental pregnancy, but I'm gonna make promise to be there for our child," Snow looked over at Fang who sighed. "But, don't ever give up on the people you love. Don't give up because you feel worthless. I can see it in your eyes and that happy gleam you get when you talk about Lightning all the time, but for the love of Etro, do not give up on her, and she won't give up on you. You two have been through far too much to call it quits. One fight or two, you guys will get through it just fine. You are worthy Fang, and that'll mean you're a part of our happy family. Vanille even thinks you and Lightning are endgame, but you gotta keep working hard for that relationship!" Snow stood up and was soon standing on the table, "Don't give up! Don't be hard on yourself! Ask her to marry you! You can do it and you will!"

Fang looked at the box and looked up at Snow, "I'm going to ask her to marry me tomorrow night!"

"Snow get off the table! Scuff it with your boots and I'm going to have you buy a new one!" Lebreau yelled.

Snow jumped off the table and took a seat once more, "Tomorrow? We have reservation to Bodhum's Pearl, and you two are coming too. We're also picking up Vanille and her plus one," Snow admits.

"Plus-one?" Fang asked looking at Snow.

"Don't worry about it. You could probably ask her to marry you at the restaurant tomorrow. I know I promised Serah a fancy dinner as a deal on my end. So, tomorrow will be your day."

"I could do that. I know Light doesn't like huge surprises, but I think it would be a pleasant one. Plus, with her trying to go to university for criminal justice, I'd be able to live with her while she learns, and we'll get a house together," Fang admits.

Snow nods, "Either way, I'm excited to see what the future holds for you two and I gotta say I'm proud of you Fang."

Fang smiled at Snow and placed a hand on his shoulder as he looked at his friend. "Thank you, I guess all I needed was a bit of Lady Luck and encouragement from my friends."

"Because once a member of NORA, you are a member for life," Snow smiled back.

"And now I gotta think of a speech so I can ask her to marry me tomorrow night," Fang said with a chuckle.

"You'll find the words. After all, I heard your poetry went pretty well from Faris. When'd you become all sappy?" Snow asked with a laugh.

"That's none of your business," Fang smiled and smirked at Snow.

Some things were meant to be kept a secret, as Fang helped clean up, before finally taking her motorcycle home to greet her beautiful girlfriend Lightning Farron.

Once the motorcycle pulled into the driveway, she was off her bike, and went to the door and knocked on it. Lightning was quick to open it, as Fang picked her up, twirled her and gently gave her a kiss goodnight.

Fang knew the next night would be big, but right now she just was happy seeing Lightning.

Lightning looked at Fang with a sudden look on her face, "I need to show you something Fang."

Fang nodded and followed the ex-soldier into the house; something didn't feel right in the pit of her stomach, and it was a matter of time, but she was skeptical that whatever it was, it would be a good thing, and not another bad thing.
