Greetings, everyone. I have returned yet again, bringing back another singular Splatoon story. This has been in my head for a while thanks to a help with one of my friends on Discord. So I'll be working on this one and the backstory on separate days whenever I feel which one I want to work on first. ;)

Anyways, this one may be pretty interesting, as I've been practicing this one before. Now, I'm putting it in the form of a story that is much more detailed. I hope you enjoy.

It was quite cloudy today at Inkopolis Square. Some areas far away have been infected with snow storms. Others at edge, while some has these snowy clouds more mild than threatening. However, the Square was kept completely safe from any snow whatsoever.

Tom was walking around. His usual gear set kept him warm just in case it would start to get more windy. However, he was at ease, and has nothing to worry about in regards to any snow.

As the newly recruited Agent was walking around, he suddenly caught a glimpse of the Squid Bits standing around, chatting with each other. Tom smiled when he noticed them, as he walks over to the three.

Redd was the first one to notice Tom walking over to them. Joel and David followed shortly after, but they only exchanged confused looks, since they don't know Tom too well, unlike Redd.

"Hey, guys!" Tom greeted.

"Wazzup, Tom!" Redd chuckled as he gives a high five to Tom.

"It's nice to see you all outside on this cloudy day." Tom mentioned.

"Hm, is that so?" Joel took an opportunity to speak. Tom looks over at Joel, and nods once.

"Hey, Redd, do you know this guy?" David asked the red Inkling. The latter looks back at David and genuinely smiles.

"You bet I do!" Redd replied, "Joel, David, I would like you to meet Tom: the newly recruited Agent 12 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon."

"Oh, so you guys are Joel and David? Redd told me how close you two are with him," Tom greeted to Redd's friends, "I've been listening to the Squid Bits songs recently, and I must say you two have talent to bring upbeat songs to the wonderful world of Inkopolis."

"Yes, that's right. I guess you can say we all have a knack for bringing catchy songs." Joel chuckled.

"I'm not the best, but I do a wonderful job singing with Redd and Joel when the Squid Bits are up!" David admitted, "I'm not sure what exactly it is, but it's like we do phenomenal as a group."

"Oh, yes. I can definitely agree on that, David." Redd agreed. Tom giggles at David's statement, then would continue to chat with the group about relations to their songs, and asking them about what they plan to do later on.

The Squid Bits would explain their different answers, and even tell Tom about their own plans in the future, even if it was vaguely explained or not. But either way, they would be enjoying their time chatting outside together about the wonderful topic of music: a hobby that every Inkling enjoys, no matter if they sing or not.

Tom placed his hand on his stomach as he looks back at Redd.

"Hm, I'm getting hungry. Say, Redd," Tom said, "Do you and the others wanna stop by somewhere to eat real quick?"

"Yeah, sure thing." Redd responded.

"I could eat." David added.

"I'm with you guys on that. Perfect time to hang out together some more, y'know?" Joel chimed in. The other three would agree, then they would stick together as they head over to a nearby restaurant.

*scene: a nearby small restaurant*

Once the group went inside, they all got seated at their assigned tables after waiting for a few minutes. Then they would get their menus, and begin to browse at the wide variety of options that they had available at the place.

"Alright, boys, I gotta say, there are a lot of options to choose from," Redd stated, "On a high note, let's make sure we choose something good. I want this hangout to be enjoyable for all four of us."

"I'm with you on that, Redd." Tom replied.

"Alright, well, let's see what they got here..." Joel mumbled as he looks around to see what he's going to be having.

"Hm... what am I in the mood for? I gotta decide soon." David told himself out loud, joining Joel on looking for what he'll be having today. Redd and Tom joined shortly after, although, they already had a feeling on what they were going to get today.

Tom looks all around to see everything that's available. And within a couple minutes after looking, he has already decided on what he's gonna choose to eat for today.

"Okay, well, I already know what I'm having." Tom pointed out.

"I'm with you on that." Redd said as well, placing his open menu down on the table. Joel and David would also decide a few seconds after Tom and Redd were done. All of their menus would sit on the table, but open to the pages of the orders that they would like.

Soon, a waitress with short pink hair would come to their table, ready to take the boys' orders.

"Hello, glad you could join us today," She greeted, "Is everyone ready to order? And if so, what can I get for you today?"

"Hello, ma'am," Redd said politely, "Yes, we are all ready to order. So, I'm going to be having the spaghetti and meatballs. With some extra marinara sauce. And for a drink, I'm just going to have the cola for today."

"Sure thing," The waitress says as she writes his order down on a tiny notepad, "And how about for the rest of you?"

"I'll have a burger with no pickles, and a side of fries, please. And to drink, I'll also have a cola." David replied.

"And I'll have a seafood taco with a little hot sauce, and just some water." Joel chimed in.

"And for you, sir?" The friendly waitress asks Tom once she finishes filling out Joel's and David's orders.

"Yes, I'm going to have this special lasagna that you have," Tom said, "I heard it has extra creamy cheese, and it must be very good. So I'm going to order that. Oh, and like Joel here, I'll also have some water."

"Hee hee, glad you have an interest in that order," The pink haired Inkling giggled, "Thank you for your time. I will bring out your orders soon. Now, if I can take your menus, please."

The friend group gives the waitress the menus, and she gives them a quick thank you before leaving to request the orders so they can be cooked.

Once the waitress was gone, David immediately began rambling about what has been going on in his life. And he made sure not to leave out what the Squid Bits had prepared for their next musical number. But Redd mainly helped out with that.

While the Squid Bits were already deep into their conversation, Tom was deep in his mind. It was like... he began to think about something. Something that he could never forget about.

Redd looks over at Tom, and the former's happy expression was whooshed away to be replaced by concern. David and Joel stopped as well once they all notice Tom looking down slightly, filled with uncomfortable silence.

"Hey, Tom? Are you okay?" Redd asked. Tom didn't respond. Instead, he shuts his eyes as he lets a single tear slide down onto his cheek. Redd gasped slightly, while Joel and David shared the same worried expressions.

After a few more seconds, Tom wipes the tear away from his eyes, then looks back at the other three Inkling boys.

"*sigh* I'm sorry, guys, it's just... I've been thinking about what occurred in the past with me." Tom admitted.

"What happened?" Redd questioned.

"Well, when I was 11 years old, my home was suddenly attacked," Tom explained, "Luckily, I did manage to keep myself safe, along with my adopted sister. However... it was for a cost of witnessing our parents getting brutally murdered. It was hard to come up from the ashes as a result of that traumatic event, and even to this day, it still scars me for life..."

The other three boys glanced at each other with shock and sadness. Tom takes a moment to pause and take a deep breath. However, he shuddered soon after as he continued feeling the fear begin building up inside him.

"Not only that, but there was another event that happened recently than you may imagine," Tom continued, "So, I'm sure you guys know about the infamous serial killer, Jenny. She led an army all on her own to attack my village and burn it down. My adopted sister and I tried to stop her, but... Jenny killed her as a result. I was paralyzed with fear for that whole thing. My legs were shaking, and I couldn't move..."

The other boys listened intently, still feeling concern for poor Tom.

"But on the bright side, the relieving part about it is that Charlotte, my adopted sister, actually tricked Jenny the whole time," Tom said through a smile, "Even with Jenny's deadly stabs, she managed to find a way to survive it. Then, she visited me once I got a new apartment at the Square. And now, we're growing an... interesting relationship. But... it still scares me, knowing that something's out there..."

"O... Oh my cod." David yelped, showing a surprised look.

"Dang, that must've been rough for you. I'm sorry you had to witness all that, Tom." Redd apologized.

"Hmph..." Joel, however, turns his head slightly away. Redd notices Joel's scoff. The former crosses his arms as he faces his orange-haired friend.

"You okay, Joel?" He asked. Joel turns back towards Tom.

"I'm not sure how I feel about this," The former says as he adjusts his sunglasses. Tom raises an eyebrow, confused why Joel said that.

"What are you talking about?" Tom questioned.

"I find your story hard to believe, Tom," Joel answered, "It seems questionable, and it feels like you were lying about some details. I'm unsure what I want to say about your whole experiences."

"I assure you that it's true. Look, I got proof right here." Tom beckoned. He then lifts his shirt up a bit, revealing the scars. Joel's eyes widen when he notices the scars.

"One time, I was nearly killed by being stabbed numerous times. Charlotte donated her blood to save my life." The purplish-blue haired Inkling said. Joel eases up, still showing a shocked look, while Tom slides his shirt back down.

"O-Oh. You... you really were telling the truth," Joel said, "In that case, my condolences. For everything that you've been through. Including the near-death situation you've had."

"WHAT?! You survived being stabbed?!" David screamed as he slides back in his chair.

"Oh my cod! I-Is that really true, Tom? Being stabbed multiple times like that?!" Redd exclaimed. Tom nods.

"If Charlotte didn't perform the blood donation for me, I wouldn't even be here right now." He reminded.

"I... I'm speechless." Redd stated, placing his hand on his own chest. Tom sighed and looks back down, ashamed that the other three boys now knew what Tom really has gone through. And it has been... traumatizing.

"I'm sorry that you all had to hear all of that about me. Even to this day, it still gives me jittery..." Tom apologized.

"I feel so bad for you..." David said in a sad tone. Redd slowly approaches Tom, and he places his hand on his shoulder. Tom looks up, and Redd just shows a soft expression, showing his concern for Tom.

"It's fine, Tom. We all have had moments where we don't exactly act like... ourselves." Redd stated. Tom shows a small smile and gives Redd a quick thanks. Redd just shows a grin, happy to help out a friend in need.

Tom narrows his eyebrows as he looks around.

"Hm..." He muttered.

"What's wrong?" Redd asked, stepping back to give Tom some room.

"I feel like... we're being watched." Tom warned.

"Now that you mention it, Tom... I feel the same." Redd noticed. He began to observe the restaurant. There was nothing fishy, and there weren't any noticeable threats around. Even outside the building, there was nothing.

David and Joel were confused, but Joel kept an eye around to make sure they weren't in any danger. While David wanted to tell himself there was nothing, and that they were fine. But it was some strange feeling. As if there wasn't a threat, but nothing was wrong.

...

Suddenly, the glass windows broke as people threw themselves inside. Inklings and Octolings inside the restaurant, all customers, employees and staff members, began to scream as they tried to evacuate the area.

"Uah!" The boys yelped as they fell to the floor to try and find safety. The intruders were Octolings similar to the ones in the army. These Octolings all had black poofy hair. And not only did they have the hypnoshades, but they also had gas masks on. Which wasn't a standard in the Octarian Army.

Then their leader stepped into the fray. It was a male Octoling with black hair similar to Caleb's, but with an extra twirl. He looked more like the regular Octoling soldiers at first glance. However, the hypnoshades he had on were similar to the ones that Callie wore when she was squidnapped.

He evilly smirks as he takes off his gas mask. Then, he pulls out an ink version of an AK-47. He walks on over to Tom and Redd, who were the closest to him, while Joel kept David behind him to try and keep themselves safe.

"Hello, Operative." The Octoling greeted. Tom shook in his spot, trying his hardest not to show any fear. Redd looked over at the Octoling, almost ready to make a fight or flight situation occur.

"Who... who are you?" The Squid Bits lead singer asked. The male Octoling turns towards Redd, with his facial expression still the same.

"Alfred Octoetecia. Leader of the OctoTeeth Army." He responded. Tom reaches into his pockets, shaking a bit as he tried to look around for an emergency weapon that he may or may not have with him.

"Oh no, this isn't good. I don't even have a weapon with me. Wait... aha!" Tom thought, gasping slightly when he felt something in his jacket pocket. He kept his hand in there, waiting to make the right before before Alfred is gonna strike.

"I'm here for a couple people whose names shall not be mentioned," The OctoTeeth leader proclaimed, "Now, if you two wouldn't mind, I need to step aside and take them hostage."

However, his eyes were glared directly at Tom.

"Heh, and I already know who I'm looking for." Alfred thought. As he got closer, Tom swiftly ran up to Alfred as the former pulls out a mini M1911 inkshot. He aims it as the front rests on Alfred's jaw, with Tom's finger on the trigger, about to shoot.

However, Alfred wasn't scared one bit. He just shows an evil smile, showing no fear whatsoever.

"It's over for you, Alfred." Tom growled.

"Heh heh, do you really expect to hit me with THAT puny contraption?!" Alfred laughed. Tom narrowed his eyes at Alfred, hovering his finger on the handle of the trigger. Almost one second away from performing an action.

"I-I'm warning you!" Tom yelled. Alfred just smirks as he places his right hand in the air. Then, he snaps his fingers.

And in a split second, the Octolings shot knock-out rounds at the four, rendering them to become unconscious. Tom lays down on the floor from the attack and drops his tiny emergency gun.

"Ah ha ha ha ha! Foolish squids! My plan is finally coming to fruition! What a flawless execution!" Alfred boasted through an evil laugh. He calms down shortly after, then kneels down in front of his face.

Alfred gently caresses Tom's cheek as he grabs the minigun, keeping it in his pocket for safekeeping.

"Now... it's time for a little payback, Tom." The deranged OctoTeeth leader said. He began to pick Tom up, when suddenly, he heard groaning from close by.

Alfred looks over to see it was Redd. Redd crawled on over and slowly got up, with his legs wobbling as he used all of his strength to get up and save Tom. While Alfred just giggles at Redd's futile attempt.

"Oh, what have we got here? Was one of those not enough to take you out?" Alfred questioned through an evil smile. Redd didn't answer. Instead, he lets out a grunt as he tries to punch Alfred in the face.

However, it was super weak. Alfred wasn't even tickled by it at all. He then pins Redd down and keep him down on the floor, as the latter cries out in pain.

"Wow. Great hit. I gotta say, that was a fine attempt." Alfred said sarcastically. He then roughly slaps Redd across his face, and he lets out one last yelp before passing out once again.

The leader turns back towards the other Octolings joining him on the break-in.

"Take the Operative and this red squid back to HQ. Leave them in a cell. I'll deal with them later." He ordered. The Octolings nod, and they work together to carry Tom and Redd, and carry them outside the restaurant.

Alfred then grabs onto a walkie talkie, as he holds a button to begin speaking into it.

"Elite Captain Jenny. I've done it. The Operative has been securely captured. The soldiers are bringing them back as soon as possible." He stated.

"Oh, you did? Excellent. You did good, boy." Jenny's voice said on the other side.

"Yes, and I've also captured this red squid who managed to get in my way. I assumed that's who you also wanted?" Alfred asked.

"Yes. You must've successfully captured Agent 4 as well." Jenny recognized.

"Oh, so that's the Agent 4 you were telling me about? What a riot! He barely posed a challenge to me." Alfred boasts.

"Either way, I'm glad you captured these pathetic Agents," Jenny said, "I have been completely satisfied, and I will be even more once we commence doing what we do best. I want you to wait for me once you bring these two back to a cell. I have some special torture to begin on those two."

"Yes ma'am. Anything for you, Elite Captain." Alfred responded. He places the device back around his waist, then lets out a maniacal giggle. But he stops before it gets louder and more deranged, and he makes his swift leave back to the Octarian base.

Meanwhile, Joel and David groan as they wake up from the knockout rounds performed on them. They look around to see the place was completely trashed. Everyone left without a trace. And the intruders were gone as well.

But their worries grew higher when they noticed Tom and Redd were gone.

"H-Huh?" Joel yelped.

"Redd? Tom? Where did you guys go?" David called out. He and Joel got up and observed around the deserted restaurant. But so far, they could so no clues on what happened to their friends.

"T-They're not here! Joel, they're gone!" David cried.

"Aw carp..." Joel growled as he bit his lower lip, growing more worried by the second. He tried to think on where the two could've gone, or try to find a way to ask for help. Then, the orange Inkling snaps his fingers once he remembers something.

"Wait, hold on a second!" He yelped, "We need to head to the Squid Sisters' place. Redd's sister said she was gonna help the two idols host a movie night with the others. We need to get there as soon as possible!"

"Way ahead of you!" David agreed. And so, the two sprinted out of the restaurant to make their way to the Squid Sisters' apartment to deliver the important news, no matter how busy they could be.

The darkness began to spew around. Whatever could be happening when Tom and Redd wake up wouldn't end up being good at all. Joel and David had to make their delivery as quick as possible.

But one thing they knew for certain... was that a future fight is brewing.

Author's Note: And that's going to be it for the first chapter. Not much for a start, but I'm going to be getting there. But this leaves off the perfect time for my infamous cliffhangers (sorta). :/

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed it. Stay Fresh, and I'll see ya next time for more! ;)
