"How'd you do on the test?" I asked Joon after class.

"I don't think I got a ton of wrong answers," he said.

"Well, that's good." I said.

"How about you?" he asked.

"Uhh, I think I did pretty good." I answered.

"Okay. So, about the whole 'fake dating' thing," he said.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"You're really down for it?"

"Yeah. I told you so yesterday. Did you really think I was lying?" I asked.

"No, it's just… I don't know. So, how are we going to do it? Like pretend to be dating?"

"Um. I don't know. Like hold hands or something? How would I know anything about dating?" He laughed.

"You make a good point."

"Whatever."

"What'd you bring for lunch?" he asked, as lunch was our next period.

"PB&J, apple sauce, and some milk," I answered.

"You really are still a kid," Joon said, shaking his head.

"What? I like milk. It's healthy for you." He just laughed. "What are you eating?"

"Diet food."

"Liar." I said. "Since when are you on a diet?"

"I'm kidding. Leftover kimchi from last night." I gasped.

"Lucky! Can I have some? Please?" I begged. He laughed and said yes. I hugged him.
"Thank you! You're the best!"

"I know I am," he said. I playfully punched him in the shoulder and rolled my eyes.

"Anywho, where are we going to sit? Outside? It's sunny today," I said.

"Sure." We sat under a tree in the school courtyard and took out our lunches. After eating mine, I stole some of Joon's grandmother's kimchi and ate it. He let me take a few bites, but after a while he said I was taking all of it.

"So?" I asked.

"So it's my lunch. You ate yours. Let me eat mine." I pouted but he wouldn't change his mind.

"Fine," I said. I read a book while drinking my milk until Joon finished his lunch. "You're an incredibly slow eater, you know that?" I said. He shrugged.

"How much time do we have left until the next class?" he asked.

"About fifteen minutes," I said, after checking the time on my phone. He nodded then got out his book. We read for the last ten minutes of lunch before heading back inside to go to our next class.

"Test number two. You ready?" I asked Joon.

"Ready to fail? Sure."

"You're not going to fail, Joon. You studied with me, you'll be fine." I told him.

"Whatever," he said.

"Hey. That's my word!" I said.

"No, your word is 'anywho,'" he replied.

"Oh, yeah." I said and laughed. Joon just shook his head and opened the door to the classroom. We took our assigned seats at the back of the classroom and talked while we waited for the teacher to start class.

"Pencils down," our teacher said. I had already finished but was going over my answers, double-checking them in my head. Joon had finished just before the teacher marked the end of the test. I sighed. I caught Joon looking at me and mouthed, "What?"

"Nothing," he mouthed back. I shook my head slightly and handed my paper to the person sitting in front of me, per my teacher's instructions. After that class ended, Joon and I walked to math. Mrs. Fisher was standing at the door telling students they had about ten minutes to get in some review before the test. She's the nicest teacher at our school; Joon and I both think so. As we sat down, Joon and I swapped questions we thought might be on the test. As we were reviewing, a kid in our class came up to us and asked if we were dating.

"Yeah. We are." Joon answered.

"Oh. Cool," the girl answered and walked away. She looked kind of crestfallen. Maybe she was one of the girls who had a crush on Joon. One of many. It's no secret that Joon is one the best-looking guys in school. It was also no big secret that I'm his best friend. But we've never been more than that. Just best friends. So I was kind of scared of how people would react when word got out that we were "dating." Although, we're not really. Deep down, though, I kind of wish we were. Really dating, that is. Anywho. After math class ended, I stood out in the hallway talking to Joon.

"When do you think we'll get our test scores?" I asked Joon. He sighed.

"Do you really have to ask me that after every test we take?" He asked.

"I don't ask you that every time we take a test," I said defensively.

"Uh, yeah, you do."

"Do not."

"Do too."

"Do not."

"Do too."

"Whatever."

"Ha ha. I win." He smiled triumphantly.

"Only because I let you." I huffed.

"Whatever." I smiled this time. Because he knows I'm right. And because I know he knows I'm right.

"Okay. Last class. We don't have a test for this class, right?" I asked.

"No, I don't think so."

"Okay, good." Joon laughed. "What?" I asked.

"Nothing." He says that a lot lately, I thought.

"You've been saying 'nothing' a lot lately." I told him, echoing my thoughts. He just shrugged.

"Care to tell me why 'nothing' is your new favorite word?" I teased.

He pretended to think. Just like when we were in his room last night. "Nope." He said. Oh my god, I thought, and smirked. It's like an exact rerun of last night. I bit back a laugh.

"What's so funny?" Joon asked.

"Nothing," I said.
