"Goodbye Nora"

Nora took an extra large sip of her jack and coke as she stared around the bar, scowling at the couples out on a "date night".

Pfft..Date Night...they have no idea what's coming..

She checked her phone to see that it had just stroke midnight on February 23rd; the first anniversary of her and Arthur, her ex-husband's, divorce. What an idiot she had been to fall for him.

What did she do wrong? Nora ordered another drink as she finished the last drops in her glass. Everything had been going well for them. One minute, he came home with scarlet red roses, telling her that she was his world. Another minute, she found him lying with some bright pink haired skank that looked like she worked at a men's club. Nora's scowl deepened as she replayed the look on their faces in bed. Pink and Blue eyes looked with a passion Nora could only dream of. What? Is Cyan not good enough for him now?

She thought she made him happy. Nora's scowl softened as her mind raced back to their childhood memories; how she defended him from bullies, how he would occasionally show to school wearing that navy blue sweater she liked, their evening at the Valentine's Day dance.

When she got the news that he decided to follow her to college, Nora found herself screaming, and jumping for joy on her bed until her parents yelled at her to stop. Though they majored in two different fields, they made time with each other by meeting up at the commons to study.

Nora allowed herself a small smile as she thought about the night she proposed. It was around 7 in the evening and most of the other students had gone back to their doors or to dinner. She knew that he was a very introverted man, and almost ducked everywhere unless she was with him. She giggled every time he hid from the crowd. Nora loved being the one in charge.

She felt herself lose that smile as she looked to the empty seats on her sides. Nora missed all the times they went to the bar near their college, after they had both turned 21. She had always stuck with a classic jack and coke, while he preferred fruity cocktails, like sex on the beach and the occasional mimosa in the morning. They would laugh and talk the evening, and if she were lucky and sober enough..they would have quite the night ahead of them.

Everything was practically perfect just like she liked it. So, when she had returned home from work at the Fairy Academy one evening, she thought the pink car in her driveway might belong to a relative of his she hadn't met. How she wished she had listened to the soft, nervous twine in her stomach as she entered the house that night.

"Lady..you've been here since 8 this evening and you can barely sit up. This is your last drink. I'm cutting you off.", the bartender said, forking over her last drink.

"W-why? You can't kick me out? I- BURP I'm paying good money to be here! You've got some nerve."

"Ma'am, we have the right to reserve service to anyone, including you. Look, just enjoy your drink and get going."

"But you don't close for another 2 hours!"

"I'm not arguing with you, ma'am. This is for your own safety.", he snapped back, before turning back to wiping down the unused glasses.

Nora rolled her eyes and took another sip, Typical men..so useless. They don't ever know how to appreciate a good catch, like me. It wasn't fair! She thought she had done everything in her power to make him happy. Her job paid well, she made sure to save some time for him, and even helped out with a chore or two around the house when she wasn't too tired. What did that pink fairy have that Nora didn't. She admitted that the pink fairy did look younger and only SLIGHTLY prettier than her, but she didn't think that Arthur would be that kind of person. He always said that he fell in love with Nora's passionate temper and personality…wait…

As Nora finally began to wrap up her last drink, she heard the doorbell ring as two fairies, with navy blue and bubblegum pink hair, floated in, laughing just as Nora had done with Arthur. Though her vision was getting blurry, she recognized the short, blue hair and that stupid sweater she had got Arthur when they were dating. The fairy next to him also had long, way pink hair, and wore a white dress Nora thought was way too short. She slammed the glass on the door as the two ordered drinks, a Cosmopolitan for the girl and a Sex on the Beach for the guy, just like Arthur had normally ordered.

"Lady? Hey Lady!", the bartender yelled, catching Nora's attention, "Listen, you've had your fun. Now, I think it's time you made your way home. I wouldn't want you in an accident."

"Oh yeah? Why do you care? You don't even know me!", Nora snapped, catching the attention of the couple and some of the others at the tables.

"Nora? Is that you?", the blue fairy finally spoke up, ignoring the pink fairy's slightly annoyed glances. Nora cut her eyes and snarled slightly. Oh, now he wants to talk to me? What happened to that pink fairy? Did he forget that she exists now? What could he possibly want from her now? There's nothing left for her to give. Even if there was, she was done giving to the likes of him.

"Uh..Hey Nora.", Arthur started, walking up towards her, "Uh..Do you want me to poof your home?"

"No, leave me alone! I'm..ugh…I'm doing fine! Seems like you're doing fine as well. What do you want from me?", Nora snapped, failing to maintain a floating position without tumbling over.

"I really think you should let me poof you home."

"No. You're not the boss of me, Arthur! I'm done with you and I'm done with this conversation.", Nora yelled, trying to stand back up again.

"Come on Artie. You heard the old hag. She's just wasting your time.", the pink fairy spoke now, her feminine voice purring slightly as she massaged his shoulders. Old Hag? Is that what I am now?

"Willow, please don't start-"

"Old hag huh? Heh..That's funny coming from someone that's barely out of high school..", Nora snarled, ignoring Arthur's uncomfortable sitting position.

"Excuse me? Don't you have Fairy Feud or something to watch on TV, Lady?", Willow snapped.

"Oh I'll show you Fairy Feud!"

POOF! All of the sudden, Nora found herself swinging her purse at the purple oak door at her house. She opened it and dug around for her wand, hoping to poof herself back even though she was in no condition to use magic. Damn me for now organizing my stuff.

By the time she found her wand, she sighed, putting it back in exchange for her house keys. She stumbled into her house and slammed her purse near the floor. A room that had one been filled with many bookshelves and pictures that read famous literary quotes had been gone, probably away at that skank Willow's house now. He had also took his blue dishes, pots, and pans, and the throw pillows that used to lie on the cough had disappeared too. Nora signed and made their way towards the bedroom, lying down in the middle of the bed. She closed her eyes and found herself turning towards the right side of the bed, where Arthur had used to sleep.
