It was a slow and cool evening at the Road Rovers HQ, Hunter was out for a run, surprisingly at a normal pace in comparison to his supersonic speed, Colleen was at a photo-op from being contacted by a modeling agency, Shag was in the kitchen preparing himself something to eat if the mixing bowl was anything to go by and Muzzle was sound asleep in his usual bondage.

Meanwhile, Exile was walking down the hallway to his room, feeling tired from the day's event. Today had been particularly exhausting with their latest missions and he was looking forward to a nice long run. As he made his way along the hallway, he noticed that the door to Blitz's room was open. Usually, Exile wouldn't have cared less about anything concerning the German Doberman, given their...uneasy relationship to begin with, but for whatever reason, the Russian Husky couldn't help but be just the slightest bit curious, so he quietly walked up to the door to take a peek inside. What he found was Blitz slouched over his bed, looking rather down as he looked wearily up at the ceiling, not even taking notice of his eavesdropper. To Exile, something about seeing the dark brown canine like this was almost...sad, and not in a condescending way...he still couldn't figure why he was thinking something like this when he was suddenly pulled out of his thoughts.

"I know you're there", Came the voice of German descent, causing the Russian canine to flinch as he looked straight at Blitz who was looking at him.

"Uh, well, I was just...passing by", Exile replied in trying not to sound awkward, but it still came out as such.

"Hmph, come to taunt me again, have you? What will it be this time, or am I in for another 'don't be weird boy' session?" Blitz asked in a scathing tone.

"I think a better question is just what are you doing lying down like that?" Exile quizzed with a raised brow. "Did Collie girl shoot you down once more? Personally, I don't understand why you keep going after her, you know it's just going to be the same result over and over again." Blitz scowled and looked away.

"You don't think I know that? But what else can I do, no one will be able to identify me as anything else." Exile's face morphed to a look of confusion. "What are you talking about identifying yourself?"

"You know, we all have our roles to play," Blitz replied with a roll of his eyes, "Hunter's the leader and Mr. Everyone's Friend, Colleen's the kicker and the one everyone gushes over, you're the muscle with ice powers and I'm the ass biter who happens to be a hopeless romantic and gets thrown into walls by the very person he's pining after…"

The Doberman continued with his voice seemingly growing more and more irritated with each passing word, Exile feeling the change in tone and visibly winced. "Um...are you...alright, comrade?" He asked hesitantly.

"Oh, I don't know, what do you think?" Blitz retorted as he looked right at the husky, "And why do you care anyway, you hardly say anything nice to me for a start."

Exile opened his mouth to retort...until he realized that Blitz had a point, he wasn't exactly known for being the most polite towards his German teammate.

"I...suppose you have a point there…" The Russian replied, looking down at his twiddling fingers. "However, I will admit, seeing you like this is-"

"Sad? Pathetic? Being weird boy?" Blitz asked snarkily.

"Well, more...depressing, actually…" Exile replied, his voice radiating genuine sorrow, which didn't go unnoticed by Blitz as his face went from a look of irritation to what seemed...concern.

"Um...would you mind if I...come in…?" The husky asked, expecting the Doberman to refuse his offer...but instead, Blitz made a noise of "mmph" and something that sounded like agreement.

The blue canine slowly stepped into the room and walked towards where Blitz was still laying.

"Do you...want to get up, comrade…?" He asked down at the forlorn fellow canine, to which his response seemed to be a sorrowful look away. Against his better judgment, Exile reached down and began to pick Blitz off the ground, to which the Doberman couldn't bring himself to retort against. As delicately as he could, the Russian set the German down on his bed and then sat down next to him.

"Danke…" Blitz said in a soft tone. "Pozhaluysta…" Exile replied in an equally soft tone...and then he noticed a small tear coming down the right side of Blitz's face.

"I just...I feel...so…" The Doberman tried to formulate his words, but his voice couldn't make it through the breaking tone.

"I just feel like I'm...underappreciated...that no one cares about what I do, all they see is a coward who bites tushies...and a romantic scapegoat…" The German canine said tearfully. "It's almost like no one would miss me if I wasn't here…" He placed his paws on his face to wipe away the tears before he felt another paw on his face...a blue paw...looking up to see the solemn face of Exile.

"Please...don't say that…" He said softly as he wiped away a tear from Blitz's face.

"Why...why do you care...everyone knows you hate me more than-" Blitz's speech was cut off by Exile putting a finger to his mouth.

"Please...I know I've said...awful things to you in the past...but seeing you like this...and having time to think as of late...I've come to realize that you're just as worthy as the rest of us...you don't deserve everything we've put you through…" The husky leaned down to the Doberman's face, the remorse in his eyes clear. "I know I can't go back and retract every horrible thing I've said to you in the past...but what I'm hoping for is to be given a second chance...to show you how sorry I am…" Exile continued as both canines' muzzles were barely apart from one another.

"I...I...I don't know what to say...but...thank you…" Blitz replied softly, the two European canines staring into each other's eyes...before closing the gap between them, both letting a tear slide down their cheeks as they held one another.

Pulling away for breath, Blitz looked at the Russian Husky with soft, pleading eyes. "Please...will you stay with me tonight...I would much appreciate some company…" Exile caressed the German Doberman's face as he stared into his eyes.

"Of course I will...you deserve comfort and only comfort for tonight...and if this can serve as me making good on my promise, then I'll do it...for you…" He gave Blitz another kiss on his lips before settling down next to him, both canines holding hands as they looked to one another. Indeed, the road ahead of them seemed to be a long journey of recovery, but with small smiles on each other of their faces, it was safe to say that both Europeans shared the same goal; what happened in the past couldn't be changed, but that only meant more opportunity to change for the better in the present and future.
