This author note might get annoying if you read multiple of my fics because I'm going to copy/paste it over all updates for maybe the rest of the month.

I really have been neglecting some of my fanfics for about a year and some even two years. I've decided to try to update as many as I can (or as many as I know people want to see). I'm going to be scheduling fic updates but based on the number of hits on the latest chapter (there is a way to see on fanfiction net a huge discrepancy between unique IP visitors and hits and I will make sure that no one is just continually clicking refresh on fics). Right now I am updating fics that have 75+ hits on the latest chapter. That is 34 fanfics at this present time. Once I finish the updates of all of those (hopefully before the end of the month) I will update my stat list (an Excel document) and start again. Hopefully this will explain my updates until the end of the year (although there may be a handful I write just for fun). Thank you for checking out my work. I appreciate every well-intentioned reader. Love the reviews but I still appreciate every well-intentioned reader. Thank you.

Chapter Six – Slave of the Lamp

6.1

Jasmine felt lonely as she sat in her bedroom where she couldn't find Aladdin. She knew that when she was Amal, she wasn't able to behave with him as intimately as she wanted but at least she could be close to his side. At least she could feel those loving, romantic feelings inside. She bowed her head as she heard a knock on the door and rose, "Have you -"

"No sign of him," the servants said and Jasmine nodded. This was not okay. Didn't he see how worried she was about this. She had been found by a rogue genie who had done a spell on her, she could barely remember the face of the genie but they were after her and so she had found herself cursed in another body but Aladdin….

Had she done the right thing by coming back to the palace. She was spoiled here. They were given anything which they might desire but there was also their freedom and she had seen the mixed emotions directed towards him. Just because she loved him, was she crushing him in her hands like a dove.

"Aladdin, where are you?" she asked as she looked out of the window.

"Is there anything else that you may need, your majesty?" the servant asked and Jasmine shook her head and looked towards her with a kind and open heart.

"No. Thank you though," she said as she stood and walked over to the balcony. She closed her eyes and tried to steady her breathing. People were asking her questions about where she had been, what she had been doing and she could lie to people, bluff her way through this, but that didn't stop the fear of Aladdin not being here any longer.

Where was he? He wouldn't have just run away without warning and she worried that he had given up something that she wouldn't want him to sacrifice. She was almost about to give up when she saw Abu clamber up onto the balcony. She reached out slowly and pet his neck before he lifted up a new lamp.

She hadn't rubbed a lamp and summoned a genie before. She had seen the lamp before and she had of course met the genie but to have one of her own. She didn't want it though. Was this what Aladdin had left for her? Her problems weren't going to be solved just by some magical wishes. She wanted to go back to before her father died when things had been much less complicated.

"No. I don't want to start any new adventures right now," she told the monkey who shoved it in her direction, Jasmine turned from the balcony to go and sit down on her bed. She looked over to the pillow on which her husband usually rested his head. She saw Abu come over to her and shove the lamp at her again. "Doing this causes trouble," she said before she saw Abu perform an impression of Aladdin.

"Are you trying to tell me that this is from Aladdin?" she asked and Abu nodded. "Well, can you take it back to him and tell him that I don't want to risk what we have and that I'm going to be really angry if he's done something that he can't take back."

Abu stared at her before shoving the lamp back at her. Jasmine sighed as she took in her hands and saw the way the monkey was staring at her. Well, it was better that someone who didn't want to use the lamp to do harm to others had it. She also possessed greater knowledge of the object than others did. These were things that made it so she should at least say hello to the genie who inhabited the inside of this item. "Like this?" she asked as she set the lamp down on her lap then picked it up and gently rubbed it.

She took a deep breath in and stared in wonder at the colorful pink, red, and white smoke from the bottle but her whole body paled as the genie showed himself. In a bright orange-red was a genie but she could see in the face that this was Aladdin. She put a hand over her mouth and shook her head as the lamp rolled from her lap and dropped to the floor.

"Jasmine," he smiled as he saw her but then felt a tightening in his body. "I mean, mistress," he said as he sank down in a bow to her as if he were a knight about to be lorded. Jasmine dropped to her knees in front of him and before she could think of anything else, wrapped her arms around him.

"I…wh-you…you shouldn't…" she said as she felt how different his body was. There were parts of it that felt so much bigger and lighter like a balloon or like a cloud but there were two very heavy bands on his wrist where he had turned himself to a prisoner of the lamp. Jasmine looked at him and shook her head.

"Why? She asked as she saw his sadness but also his relief at seeing her in her natural form. "This is worse, this is so much worse," she said and hugged him but he didn't hug back. "Aladdin? Al?" she asked him before picking up the lamp and brought it to her chest. "I get three wishes, right?" she asked and Aladdin nodded.

"Yes. I can grant those to you but then you have to give up the lamp," he said as he struggled to come to terms with what to call her. When she had been pretending to be a commoner, it had been easy to talk to her and then that had changed when he had learned that she was the princess but after so much time learning about one another, the power dynamic had switched again.

"There's only one I want," Jasmine said and she kissed his cheek before whispering to the lamp, "I wish for your freedom," she said but instead of seeing those metal wrist cuffs fall off, she saw Aladdin going through pain, he leaned backwards and it was as if he had been struck by lightning.

"I can't give you that, my queen," he told her and Jasmine's body shivered. She didn't know what to do now. He wasn't able to be free from this and she still had to act as his mistress even though all she wanted was for him to be beside her.

"Aladdin?" she asked as she brought her hand to his chin and turned his face. She remembered seeing Jafar in this form, that had been a terrifying part of her life but at least it was making this the tiniest bit easier. Jafar had craved power and in that way had turned into a genie and gone into a lamp and gone into the cave of wonders. That was one thing she already knew she didn't want for Aladdin, she didn't want him lost, she didn't want him vulnerable. If someone stole his lamp then what did it mean? What would happen then? Would he have to grant those wishes and be thrown into the winds where she might never see him again?

Still, Jafar, she knew that Jafar had craved power but he had also had knowledge of his human self and his human past and she only hoped that the Aladdin-genie before her had the same grasp on his situation. "Do you remember me? Do you have the same memories?"

"I have the same memories, Jasmine," he told her and she looked at the lamp. She just had to make sure not to make three wishes until she could use one of those on setting him free. She needed to hold back on those things and so she put the lamp back but she would make sure to keep it safe since it held what was most precious to her.

"I know the genie that we both know can change form," she said, "so please don't take this as a wish but can you -" she said and the genie Aladdin turned into his human self although those cuffs weren't leaving. "Why, why did you do this?" she asked with tears in her eyes.

"I wanted to keep you safe," he told her and Jasmine wrapped an arm around herself.

"I was safe. I was happy. The plan was working and now this," she shook her head. She knew why he was doing it for her but that was something she didn't know how to fight. Everyone had always tried to give her anything that she could possibly want and whereas that had been fine in some situations, this wasn't okay. She had lost her husband and only gained him back as a slave.

She leaned forwards and kissed him and he moved into that kiss.

"This is against the rules," he said sadly and so Jasmine pushed him backwards and raised an eyebrow.

"Well then, slave," she tried to tease him but the word saddened both of them. "I think it's time to play by some new rules."
