The Moirai had made an odd request of her husband and herself. She hadn't known what to think of this warrior- what was the word they used? Samurai? - that they told her of.

But he had fought alongside the Spartans and managed to impress both Aries and Athena. That alone was attention grabbing.

Her husband felt indifferent on the issue, so he had allowed her to handle it as she saw fit.

She promised the Moirai only that she would watch him.

For a while, all she did was observe.

And she saw it all: His kindness and compassion. They were admirable.

The weight he bore; it felt like too much for one mortal.

She thought on it for a while and decided she would like to see how much he wanted to see the end of his quest.

Disguising herself as a nymph, she guided his footsteps into a brambled forest.

She had watched him fight through her "trap" and couldn't help smiling through the brambles as he left.

"Let this be my blessing upon you, Samurai," she whispered. "May you-"

She gasped as an arrow flew past her.

"Face me, Deity!" came a command from behind her. She turned at once to see a woman with long black hair and a brilliantly white garment similar to what the Samurai wore pointing her bow and arrow to her head.

"By what right do you attempt to trap my descendant?" she spat angrily.

The strange woman was silent as she looked her up and down. She definitely wasn't from her Pantheon. She said the Samurai was her descendant. She remembered her husband making mention of his heritage. What was the name of the goddess he spoke of? Something about the Shinto sun god? Amma-something?

She'd have to ask later. Right now it was obvious the sun goddess didn't know who she was.

She removed her disguise and the strange purple, green, and pink hair gave way to the same golden hair as her mother and her wispy gown became the black toga she'd happily worn when her husband made her his queen.

"Forgive my deception, but it was not my intent to trap your descendant." she said solemnly. "I am Persephone of the Greek Pantheon; Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld, and I would like to help him."

The Sun Goddess continued her scowl, but she eventually lowered her bow.

"How exactly was what you were doing 'helping' him?" she stated sternly.

"Word reached the Olympians of the Samurai who helped what remains of the Spartans destroy their enemy and his quest to rid the world of Aku with his sacred sword. The Moirai, our Fate Goddesses, came to me and told me that he would be an old man by the time he completed his quest and that he would die from wounds he would receive during the final conflict.

"They requested my blessing to prevent that fate. I wanted to see for myself the manner of hero he was, so I tested his determination.

"And now, with your permission, of course," she concluded. "I would like to grant him that blessing."

"What kind of blessing?" she questioned after a tense silence.

"The injuries won't heal fast enough because of his age at the time," she explained. "I'd like to make it so that wouldn't be an issue for him for a while."

Mamitu went with Lachesis as she escorted Amaterasu to the home of Demeter, who then reluctantly allowed them to see Persephone, who then greeted the Sun Goddess as an old friend.

She listened intently as the situation was explained to her.

"This is an odd meeting," she laughed lightly. "I remember a time where I needed to ask your permission to bless the Samurai, Amaterasu."

"A strange goddess that I didn't know had her eyes fixed upon my descendant and tried to trap him," Amaterasu stated. "Forgive me, but what was I supposed to think?"

Persephone's laugh continued. "Well, I'd like to state for the record that my beloved Hades is all the man I need. He may be a grouch, but he's my grouch."

(Had anyone been paying attention to Demeter, they would have seen the woman cringe at her daughter's statement. It was one thing that she felt like she had eaten those blasted seeds just to spite her. Did she have to talk about that man like that in front of her?)

"I am sorry to hear about his lost bride and child, though," she said. "I don't think Hades will care for seeing a mortal's lifetime get interfered with again, but I don't think he'd object too much to me using my powers like this. I will help them when the time comes."

Author's Note: Sorry for the long wait. When the pandemic hit and the quarantines started, I just lost all creative motivation and everything got shelved. I'm sorry if this one's not as good as the earlier chapters.

Also, in case no one can tell from how I write them (lol), I am a HadesxPersephone shipper and I prefer the modern interpretations where she actually has agency in becoming the Queen of the Underworld.

Next chapter is going to be set up like a few short stories building on Jack and Kiko's relationship.
