Author's Note: State of mind hasn't improved much from the last time, debating if I'll go consult an expert about anger. Other than that, I just hope I make it to the planned end within a year of writing this note. Enough rambling from me, and on to the chapter.

Jesse and Celia were enjoying the last of their modest dinner, chatting about their day. Both made short work of the implements they used for said dinner.

"I'll take care of the plates, Sis!" chimed the younger Inkling.

"That's very kind of you, Cel." Jesse smiled warmly at her younger sister. She then went off to change into comfortable housewear, then sat down and browsed her Squidbook and the private NSS network. It was still deathly silent there, following the events of recent days. She sighed at the sight of the network chat being dead silent.

"Still no word from Four or One or Two…" Jesse sighed, shaking her head. "What has really gotten into Marie?" she asked to herself exasperatedly, still bewildered at the sudden turn of events. Celia just got finished with the dishes and cutlery when the whole house blacked out on them.

"Sister… it just got dark!" called out Celia, panic seeping in her voice.

"Follow me." she beckoned her in a tense voice. Both clung on to each other, Jesse having a good inkling of who may have caused this; no other than the Red Fist Revolution, the latest in the New Squidbeak Splatoon's rogues gallery.

They soon were in Jesse's room, where her Hero weapons are stored. She also clasped her personal ink tank, anticipating an ambush.

"Stay here okay? Sis is gonna take care of the bad guys." she assured the younger Inkling. The younger squid barricaded herself off once her sister was out of the room.

Outside, a squad of Sanitized Octolings were massing around the house, seeping through the windows and doors to force their way in. Jesse was holding tight to her Hero Shot, eyes peeled for the enemy. Soon enough, she caught one in the kitchen, and was immediately dealt with a well-timed stream of orange to the head. She then carefully inked a path back in, where the rest of the squad was waiting for the ambush.

Suddenly, inkfire erupted as the Sanitized opened fire at the mere glimpse of another ink color. Jesse though had no problem dodging their fire, but grumbled as the resulting chaos toppled and stained the furniture. Jesse opted to go for the Octoshot wielder to the right first, being cautious not to get hit from her buddies, which included a Blaster.

"This is trespassing right?" Jesse scoffed, waiting for a window to fire back. "Tch, not that they care, they're just straight up invading Inkopolis…" she muttered to herself.

*Meanwhile, in Evan's apartment

Evan let loose from his Hero Dualies, fully upgraded from the time he was newly Agent 4. Callie, without a weapon, was staying behind Evan.

"You know, we almost don't need an investigation to tell if some gooey contraption worked its way into Two's head." he scoffed for Callie to hear. The magenta squid nodded silently, still stinging from before. He expertly rolled away diagonally from the shots, and landed a few of his own, dispatching a Sanitized soldier.

"I will smack the living daylights

The pair scampered in hunt for their enemy, Callie grumbling about her being weaponless to combat them, since her Hero Roller was in her and Marie's house, which was the last thing she wanted to visit, in the state Marie was in. She had no choice but to run for cover.

Meanwhile, at the Sisters' house, Cap was just listening to some classics on his gramophone. when the power went down in the house.

"Marie?!" Cap called out his granddaughter.

"Grandpa, get inside the room!" said Marie, immediately scrambling for her Hero Charger and her personal tank. As soon as she got those two items, she immediately bolted out and prowled for her prey.

"I don't have time for you numskulls!" Marie growled, yelling as a challenge for the invading Sanitized troops. Soon enough, she caught some in the dining hall and immediately sniped them down. She then hid in the living room sofas, seemingly unwary of the ambush waiting in the shadows just outside the curtains. To their misfortune however, Marie sensed them coming and was met with a fist to the face and a point-blank shot of a Charger.

"I don't the fucking time for y'all squitches!" she growled menacingly. Suddenly, a pink Octoling also fired at her, hitting Marie square in the face. She stung from the shot, her face gruesomely angry.

"YOU!" she screamed angrily.

"Yes, me." the pink Octoling chuckled. "We meet again, right in your humble abode even." he said mockingly, tapping his feet as he walked, custom Octoshot in hand.

"Fabian…" Marie growled. "You traitor."

"Tch, I only did this so I can see everything that Josh loves destroyed." he scoffed. "You were just unfortunate collateral damage." he said with a mocking smirk, chuckling after.

"I'm gonna splat you with my bare hands!" Marie charged at the traitor Octoling, only for a squad of Sanitized to take aim at her, forcing her to halt.

"Well then! Let the show begin!" ordered Fabian. At once, a fierce battle ensued, the steady stream of the rapid fire weapons against the slow but deadly pops of the Charger.

*Elsewhere in Inkopolis…

A big band of delinquent-looking Inklings most likely up to no good were prowling the dark backstreets of Inkopolis, some holding bats and wooden planks, while others were holding cans of spray paint. Jeers and catcalls can be heard amongst them. Soon, some of them were spraying "SSS" on the walls, while others were writing "Octo must die" or "No octo allowed" while the ones with bats and planks started clanging the posts and making lots of noise. They were yelling things like "Octos out!" jeering at random passerby and laughing.

"So, which one should we smash first?" said a cyan-haired thug sporting a skinhead cut.

"There, that bookstore…with that Octo freak!" said another thug, a green Inkling with toptails.

Soon they found an Octoling owned store with its owner inside, and the ones with the bats and planks rushed inside, heckling the owner and whatever remaining customers inside.

"Yo, how come you sell your merchandise-" one thug started.

"-when they're all filthy!?" another finished, cuing the rude laughter from his fellow thugs.

"W-what do you want?" asked the trembling Octoling, terrified at the sheer numbers.

"Simple." said the first thug, with a menacing smile.

"The cleanse of Inkopolis!" cheered another thug. At those words, destruction commenced. The customers fled, hoping to escape the chaos, but some got hit by wayward merchandise, glass shards, or the bats the thugs had. Some of them have jumped the cashier counter, straight into the cash box, forcibly grabbing the whole box. Some others have taken to ganging up on the proprietress to make sure she cannot call the police.

The other thugs meanwhile took to vandalizing the nearby shops and establishments, letting none remain unblemished, spraying random messages and the SSS logo on the walls, on the store fronts, and the signage. Anarchy erupted on the streets not too long after. The thugs then spread out to loot the nearby stores, yelling as they went.

Some took matters into their own hands and reached for whatever they had on hand: N-Zaps, Blasters, Squiffers being the more common choices. The citizens who chose to fight were mostly wary fighters, except most Blaster users who went in guns blazing. It was a clash of aggression that the thugs were too happy to oblige them with.

Some moments later, Inkopolis PD arrived, and it was every squid for themselves, though the civilians and police mostly helped each other out chasing after the SSS thugs. The thugs however were no slouches either in a fight, managing to dodge inkfire by morphing to squid form and back, clubbing some civilians unawares in either the head or the abdomen, taking the wind out of them either way.

The police did better, and caught a few thugs for it. The situation became very frantic due to the chases going on around the usually quiet part of Inkopolis, all scampering to either sow chaos another night or to stop them from doing so.

*Back at Jesse and Celia's house…

The battle had just gone into full swing, Jesse expertly ducking behind the furniture to avoid the enemies' shots, waiting just the right moment for her to strike. She bobbed and weaved among the hail of enemy ink, popping her enemies one by one.

"Is that all you got?" she scoffed at them, not caring if she was heard or not. She expertly rounded up the last of the invading party in her house, rushing to Celia once the fight's all over. She inked a quick trail to swim in so she can reach her faster.

"Sister, are you alright?" asked Celia upon seeing her sister morph back to humanoid.

"Heh, nothing good ol' Sis can handle, can she?" she smiled at her. "I can her a few more of those baddies harassing the neighbors, just hold on a little longer, ok?" she told the younger yellow squid.

"Yes sis!" she replied. Jesse immediately darted out of the window.

*Meanwhile at Evan's apartment…

Callie shifted to Evan's green so she could safely swim in the ink, and for mobility purposes. Evan meanwhile was trying to contact the other Agents to hopefully ask for help. The call to Agent 3, Jesse, bore no fruit, as the call never connected.

"Must be in battle…" he sighed, resuming his battle. He then aimed at the soldiers harrying him, dispatching one just mere minutes later. Callie swam to his side, in an effort to minimize targets.

"Got to anyone yet?" asked Callie worriedly.

"Jesse's not responding…she may have been ambushed as well." grumbled Evan.

"Figures…" Callie sighed. "I just wish Grandpa is doing fine…" she worriedly said to no one in particular.

"He will be." Evan assured him. "Agent 2 is a competent Agent, that I'm sure of." he added. Evan resumed the fight, while Callie took Evan's phone to call up Shannon. The seconds the phone beeped seemed like eternity to her, and then finally, a click occurred and a voice spoke out the other end.

"Yes, Agent 1!" Shannon replied "Are you alright?" she inquired the older Agent.

"Good Cod you picked up…" Callie panted, trying not to distract from the fight Evan is trying to win, dispatching another trooper. "Are you alright, Agent Five?" she asked the Octoling.

"I'm in a situation myself too, where are you?" asked Shannon, inkfire faintly heard in the background. "I am here in the ground floor of my apartment complex!" she blurted out as quick as possible.

"We are in the parking lot of our own apartment complex! And I am unarmed!" replied Callie on her own end. "I would appreciate it if you can swing by HQ and get me a Roller!" Callie blurted out into the phone.

"I will try, Agent 1, I'll just shake off the enemy off my tail!" Shannon answered at the other end. "What on earth is happening, Agent 1?" she asked, clearly frazzled.

"No clue, but this is a little too convenient…Marie's sudden change of attitude and now an ambush…" Callie pondered. "Those damned aliens…" she grumbled.

"I do not associate myself with those creatures." she said simply. Shannon reloaded her Octoshot by diving down into where she sat, the letting loose another stream at the enemy.

"I don't think anyone would, Shannon." Callie assured her. "Heh, for one, they don't have other colors nor variety in complexions!" she scoffed. "Anyway, stay fresh, Five!" she told the younger Agent.

"Copy that, One!" came the reply. The line clicked dead as soon Shannon went silent. Evan was making basically putting on a show for his and Callie's life, masterfully weaving in and out of the enemy shots like nobody's business, his moves almost dance-like.

"Aaah, and that's why you're my boy." Callie fawned where she was hiding. Evan soon sat down beside her, taking a breather.

"Bet you liked that huh?" Evan smirked at Callie, making the former idol blush.

"Is that even an question?" Callie scoffed. "Of damned course!" she beamed proudly. "Let's not keep Five waiting and defand the HQ before those slimeballs get their tentacles on the door." she urged the younger Agent. At once, the duo raced to Callie's silver sedan and sped for the HQ. Both barely said a word save for warning when a police car or two is in view.

"What on earth is happening?" Evan mumbled. "First we get ambushed, and now the SSS wreaks havoc in the city…" he sighed…

"Oh Cod…so many things on our plates…" Callie sighed.

"Good thing no one's around." peered Evan as they approached the trailer park where their HQ was hiding in plain sight, taking the appearance of a commercial truck.

"Let's hope there ain't none of those pale green slimeballs lurking around." Callie said, as she was looking for a safe place to park, preferably one where her license plates would not be spotted easily by the enemy. Both clambered out of the car, and Evan inked a trail to approach the HQ faster.

When they arrived, Marina was there watching the cameras. Soon, a thudding sound was heard, the sound of a Super Jump that has just landed.

"Shannon!" exclaimed Evan.

"Looks like I was just in time eh?" said the fuschia Octoling, panting.

"Pearlie opted to stay behind." Said Marina, as if to answer their unsaid question.

"I see. You probably have some important stuff left at home eh?" inquired Evan.

"Aside from Pearlie herself, yes I have." Marina snickered, proud at her own jest. "Research notes and my old Octarian blueprints." she stated in a serious tone.

"Yeah, can't let those fall into enemy hands." Callie agreed. "So, what's the sitrep back in…our house?" Callie sighed at the last two words. Everyone else's faces sunk, knowing full well what Callie meant with it.

"Marie-senpai is holding out quite well, but her fighting style…nothing I've seen or heard from her before. Cap though is safe in his room." Marina reported.

"And Sheldon?" she asked the older Octoling.

"Safe in his little underground workshop." Marina promptly answered. "Anyway, you guys need to scram for your house, I don't what'll happen if we let Marie that way any longer…" Marina faced Callie, trailing off fearfully.

"Understood." was all Callie said.

"One, here's your Roller." Shannon said to Callie, giving her the weapon, glowing pink.

"Thanks. Let's go." Callie said in a serious tone. At the precise moment however, they heard the sound of several squads of enemies land around them. Evan then sighted the silver sedan, then thought of a devious idea.

"Say Callie…shall we introduce them to Tower Control?" he said to the now armed idol.

"Evan you devious boy…" Callie chuckled. "I like your way thinking." she said, fiddling with her Hero Roller. "Well then." said Callie.

"Just like one of those tests in the Metro!" Shannon beamed.

"Let's get going, shall we?" beckoned Evan to the two ladies. "Marina, initiate the defenses. You got your own on the ready, right?" he asked the dark-skinned Octoling.

"Yes." she said shortly, brandishing her own Hero Brella. "I trust you'd clear out most of them for one Octo to handle, would you?" she asked Evan coyly.

"We shall." Evan assured the tall Octoling. Soon, the three Agents moved out, and Marina turned off most of the lights. Once outside, Callie lobbed a vertical swing to ink a trail for mobility, since swimming was faster.

The trio hid out in a neighboring trailer, watching the Sanitized circle the HQ. They launched a pincer attack, Callie successfully whacking an enemy with her Roller. From there however, they started a ruckus as every Sanitized enemy latched on to them. Screams and shouts filled the air with a raucous digital-sounding noise, as the Sanitized proceeded to hunt the three Agents down.

"Heh. Showtime." Evan grinned, twirling his Hero Dualies. Suddenly, he morphed into squid, and then morphed out to roll into an unsuspecting Octoshot enemy, instantly splatting a soldier.

Shannon meanwhile charged into the battle, gunning down a Sanitized soldier within a minute, expertly dodging the enemy fire by morphing back and forth into Octopus whenever needed. The enemy had Blasters and Dualies among their ranks, and precaution was necessary to avoid whatever they have to throw at them three.

Callie meanwhile was out tossing deadly waves of ink out at the enemies, taking care to avoid Blaster shots as well as Dualie rolls. In addition, she was busy fighting off squadrons of Octoshot wielders, damaging multiple Sanitized troopers in the process.

With the goal of getting to Callie's car as fast as possible, all three were making a run for it, but also ensuring most of the enemies are focused on them so as to thin out the possible enemies that can threaten Marina and HQ. Slowly, but surely, they made their way to the parking lot fighting off the enemy squadrons, luckily with only a few nicks here and there, nothing a quick dive in ink can't cure.

"Come on guys, we're almost there!" encouraged Callie, keeping up a massive fight with her horizontal swings to cover Evan and Shannon, aiming at multiple enemies. Callie then lobbed a trail of ink behind her once her car was close enough for an inktrail to lead directly to her car in one vertical swing.

"Hop on in!" she urged the two other Agents. Evan then dodge rolled into the sedan, while Shannon was dealing with a few of their pursuers, landing just enough critical hits to dispose of them. Soon enough, Callie was gunning it out of the parking spot, while Evan and Shannon were dealing with the stragglers, shooting their weapons from the windows.

"I hope they don't think up of something crazy after that…" Evan panted.

"Right now, we need to make sure Cap is safe." reminded Shannon.

"Right…I hope Grandpa is okay…" Callie said solemnly. Thankfully, no last minute surprises haunted them. Soon enough, the car parked in front of the house.

"Dammit, that pink Octo…" Evan gasped.

"Fabian." said both ladies tersely.

"Come on!" Callie beckoned them. All three charged through the front door, and there he was fighting against Marie one-on-one.

"Ah, they came…" Fabian smirked, trying to hide the fact that he now is outnumbered four to one. Regardless, they still resumed battle, now facing four Agents against one of himself. He was no slouch though, he managed not to be instantly splatted the moment the three other Agents arrived. The battle fiercely raged on in the messed-up living room of Callie and Marie's house, the latter giving the former a dagger-like glare before confronting the traitor Octoling.

So here we are…another late entry…(this was supposed to be by the end of November, but…procrastination and lack of motivation is a deadly combo I succumbed to…) But…Im determined to put out one last chapter before the year ends. Hopefully, I get more motivation by then…
