'Have you heard the latest gossip?' Asked Fleur idly, tracing a fingertip around a dark nipple. Lying on Lola's expansive chest was like having a favourite cushion.

'No, what?'

'The werewolf returned from the dead. Apparently she and Serena have been holed up in Spain for a year.'

Lola squinted at her disbelievingly.

'What happened to being blown up in Nairobi? And I thought that she and Serena had split up by then?'

'All a ruse apparently. I didn't think she had it in her to fake her own death but it turns out that she did and Serena certainly believed it at the time.'

'And Serena said nothing to you this past year?'

'Nothing' pouted Fleur who was unused to being kept in the dark. Serena's weekly stories of wine, sun and hilarious lost in translation situations had never mentioned The Wolfe. Not even slutty Sian had given it away. The woman was truly loyal. Having now heard the details of the situation via her favourite man Doris, Fleur could understand why Serena hadn't updated her but she still felt a tad aggrieved. Gossip was her thing.

'Not that I begrudge her. Serena's always insisted that Bernie is her one true love. Even after all of that nonsense with that other woman.'

'Well, I'm sure they'll be very happy together' said Lola benevolently. She'd heard of Bernie Wolfe but had never met her.

'It's like a plot of a soap opera' mused Fleur. 'A badly written one.'

'Well you should know, my love. How is that script going?'

Fleur pouted again.

'Badly.'

She was a woman with many strings to her bow. For the past couple of years Fleur had been writing a screenplay. It was half finished, blemished by splatters of soy sauce and boasted an impressive number of typos. Lola thought it lacked direction and had told her so.

'Maybe you should change it to a novel' Lola suggested.

Fleur's eyes lit up.

'Oooh yes that's a good idea.'

'I'd think of rewriting. Use a fake death plot as the centre of it. It has shock value. People love that.'

Fleur mused on the possibility. She growled discontentedly.

'Fuck that. I can write something so much better. Who wants a dead lesbian when you can have a live one?'

Lola confirmed her preference of lesbian as Fleur messaged Serena with a demand for picture proof. She wouldn't believe it until she saw it with her own eyes.
