AN: This time the inspiration is Bloodborne with some Jojo thrown in. Title is in reference to Gundam Wing. Hope no one thought of this combination yet, trying my hand at various different settings in these stories I have.

"What did you say!?" The voice shouted in complete disbelief.

"You heard me, I refuse! We never chose to fight this war! So why do we have to fight them?"

Ouran said sullenly as he dropped the Cobra and Crane in his hands.

"This isn't something we can just discuss with them, this is a war for survival! They want to exterminate us!"

"Even so, I don't want to fight anymore. I don't like what we're becoming!"

"Hmph! And what are we becoming exactly!?"

"The Orokin! With all their pride, their arrogance, and their hate. What are we but their ideals given form?

The Sentients were their children once too! We don't have to like them, yes. Does that mean we have to annihilate them though?"

"This is their unbridled rage, we have no choice."

"What if we can make it a choice?"

"Who's the one being arrogant now? What you want is impossible, you're nothing more than a coward!

You talk of a different choice but all you want to do is runaway!"

"Then shoot me! I'm done." Ouran said as he dropped to his knees.

"The council will judge you then."

"Ugh!" Ouran groaned as he lifted his face off the cold stone floor.

He quickly looked around and realized he was in an unfamiliar place.

He appeared to be in a courtyard surrounded by many stone buildings.

The architecture was clearly archaic if stone was used as material.

But the precise shape and deliberate placements of the stone showed that the builders and planners were of some sophistication.

Ouran thought back to the days of when his parents showed him texts about the ages of humanity long since past.

The style of the buildings was similar to that of old Eurasia fame, buildings with imposing angular forms and each having its own form of pride like a willful aging knight.

Indeed, Ouran was extremely intrigued by this strange place.

The second thing he noticed, was the darkness.

The area was lit up with various old lamps scattered on the buildings with an occasional street lamp here and there.

But if Ouran looked up, he could see a terrifying void of utter blackness.

It felt like an all consuming maw if he stared up for too long, so he turned his attention back to the dim stone ground.

But the floor was also worrying, there was a low hanging fog that clung to the cold ground, like a snail on the palm of a leaf.

Ouran came to the conclusion that this place was not only strange but also quite sinister, he had not heard a single sound that did not come from him.

He had nothing but the clothes on his back, though his body itself was a dangerous immortal weapon so he was not worried.

The courtyard had only one entrance, so he could not help but to walk towards it.

"Hello!?" Ouran called out desperately in to the desolate city.

He looked around and saw what he thought were homes.

Though he did not know if people had ever lived in this forlorn city.

He eventually reached a street and looked at both ends.

His right seemed to lead even deeper in to the dark city.

His left led to what looked like a fountain from a distance.

A little curious, Ouran decided to investigate the fountain first before going further in to the city.

As he walked towards the fountain, Ouran noticed that there was no plant life whatsoever around him.

The city looked old and worn so it must have been lived in at one point, but one would think that an abandoned city would've been reclaimed by nature.

This place was something akin to a stone dungeon in Ouran's mind.

Ouran was musing over the origins of this city when he heard faintly, the sounds of approaching footsteps.

He froze in his tracks and crouched in to [Void Mode].

This allowed him to become both invisible and invulnerable for as long as he had energy to do it.

In his incorporeal form, he peeked around the corner at the fountain, where he heard the footsteps come from.

The fountain was bone dry, with no signs that water had been flowing for an extremely long time.

The road wrapped around the fountain, so there were multiple streets that lead to it.

The footsteps Ouran had heard could've came from any one of these streets.

"GAAAOOOO!"

Ouran frowned as he heard an unholy roar echo throughout the city.

It sounded close by, so Ouran came out of [Void Mode] to recover his energy for what ever he might have to do next.

The sounds stopped and he could hear the faint sounds of approaching steps once again.

Ouran took a deep breath as his heart beat started to increase until he felt it in his head.

This place was not good for one's heart, the atmosphere was stressful in a different regard to the battlefield.

If the battlefield was sheer terror, then this was sheer horror.

'What dark beings are wandering this city?' Ouran thought as he used [Void Dash] to take cover in the fountain.

He peeked from the fountain to see a robed figure walking in to the circular area the fountain was in.

The figure was moving at a leisurely pace before halting 20 paces from the fountain.

Ouran heard them whisper something but couldn't hear what it was.

What happened next took him completely by surprise, the familiar shape of Excalibur appeared behind the figure.

'Tenno!' Ouran thought as he breathed a small sigh of relief.

But for some reason, his tension only increased, his instincts were suddenly screaming at him to run.

The figure parted their cloak and held their right hand out.

Light particles started to form in their hand and Ouran instantly knew what it was, he had seen it a thousand times.

'[Exalted Blade]!?' It wouldn't be strange for the Excalibur to be wielding it, but it was the robed figure that held it in their hand.

The Excalibur merely stood behind the figure with it's arms crossed, like it was some sort of specter or guardian.

On closer look, the Excalibur appeared to be materialized only from the torso up.

The figure flicked the blade of light and the very familiar shape of an energy wave came crashing in to the fountain from it.
