A Pie Made Out of Revenge

Honk! I looked behind me to see the noise that interrupted my conversation, mama's car. Honk! Honk! It blared again. "You coming' or what?" She asked.

"Sorry!" I screamed while saying goodbye to my friend and running into the car. We started driving for a while when I noticed that we passed Buyler street instead of turning right on Salem road.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"You know what holiday is coming soon." She said with a sneaky smile.

"What could a holiday do with thi- It's Halloween tomorrow! We need to do the baking competition! Oh mamma can we go please, please, please!" I begged.

"But I thought you hated the competition?" She asked.

" Well, remember Kyle Chase?" I asked.

"Oh, that boy." She growled. I'm glad she has the same hatred toward him as me.

"Yeah him. Well, he's gonna join the competition to get the money to help his little sister who's stuck in the hospital." I said.
"Wait, they're letting him in even when he cheated with the blueberry pie last year?" She asked. Last year Keon joined the competition and almost won but cheated by buying the pie instead of baking it. They let him keep the money because he blabbered about some story on how he needed the money to "get his momma out of debt". Normally, I would believe this but Kyle is an extremely good liar and a huge bully of mine so I would love to see him go DOWN!

"Yes they're letting him in." I responded.

"Well then, he's gonna get a big surprise." She said with a wink.

We drove down the road for one more hour until we reached the farm that my grandpa owns. We went outside the car and knocked at the door. We waited and their was no one. Not even the dogs were barking! That's when my mamma looked around the garden and found a key in some plants. She tried it on the lock and it worked!

"Hey momma how did you know how to do that?" I asked.

"I used to live with this man. I know where he puts all this stuff when he forgets things" She said. We entered the house and headed straight to the kitchen. "Honey, I'm gonna need 1/4 pound ground veal, 1 cup grated peeled potatoes, 1/2 cup grated onion, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, 1/4 teaspoon dried savory, 1/4 teaspoon rubbed sage, 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves, 1/4 cup of water plus 2 divided tablespoons water, 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs, 1 egg, and pastry for double-crust pie." She said.

"On it." I said while running around the kitchen grabbing the ingredients and bringing them to the table while she got all of the pots and pans.

"Oh right! I forgot the most important ingredient!" She screamed. She ran out of the house with me trailing behind her and into the barn where we kept all of the animals. She passed all of the animals and pushed some hay that was leaning on a wall to reveal a small, thin, rusted door with a lock on it. She put her ear on the door.

"Mamma what's thi-"

"Sh!" She interrupted me…... BANG! BANG! BANG! The door nearly bolted open causing mamma to fall to the floor.

"What the heck is in that thing!" I asked.

"Just wait a moment!" She screamed. We waited for a while until the banging faded away and was replaced with panting. At that moment mamma unlocked the door and lunged on the animal and dragged it out of the room into the kitchen. I still had no idea what that animal was. Throughout the whole thing I only saw mama's back and I suppose the animal was in there for a long time because I could smell it's waste which was so bad I nearly fainted!

"CARRIE GIVE ME THE KNIFE!" Mamma hollered across the house. I ran out of the barn into the house to see mamma fighting against the animal. I grabbed the knife off of the wall and handed it to mamma who bulged it into the animal's head. The animal died with a scream that almost sounded human like. It hit the floor with a thud and blood dripping across the kitchen floor. Mamma walked away and sat down on the dining chair. Then I got a good look at it. It was an eight year old little girl with tangled blond hair, blue eyes, a little blue dress, and a tag around her neck that I could not read. She would have looked cute if there wasn't a knife bulged into her forehead and blood dripping across her face that made it look like she was crying blood.

"Oh mamma! Why did you get a little girl this time?" I asked. Normally when we need to bake something involving meat, we get a baby from the nearby hospital but for some reason mamma got a little girl this time.

"First off, your grandfather gets the meat from the hospital so ask him. Also, we don't just eat roasted babies, we also eat little children. Haven't you noticed that some pies are crunchier, taste sweeter, and have thicker meat?" She asked. Now that I thought about it, she had a point.

"Well then why don't we just get more little children?" I asked.

"Didn't you notice how hard it was to handle this child? I just fought with her for ten minutes and I'm out of breath." She asked in between pants.

"Oh fair point." I said.

"Anyways, help me clean up this mess so we can bake." She said.

"Yes mamma." I responded while grabbing the mop. I walked toward the little girl and read the name tag

Astrid Chase

Eight year old

Sickness: Pneumonia

"Mamma, does everyone eat the pie or just the judges?" I asked.

"If the pie is really good, then everyone eats it." She said.

"Oh okay… We just killed Kyle's sister and I would love it if he ate his sister that day." I said while smiling. Nothing could be a better way at getting back at this kid! I thought to myself.

"Oh how wonderful!" She said while struggling to take out the knife from the little girl's head.

"Well anyways, because you have turned ten you now get the honor to chop up the person." She said while handing me the knife. I instantly dropped my mop and stared at her wide eyed with my jaw dropping. Normally, she cuts off the person while I clean up the mess and start to bake the pie. She always does it because in meat pies it is very important how you kill and shape the meat. Plus I have always wanted to do this! I have always stared at mamma chopping up the human or animal thinking how to make it better and so on. I ran over and grabbed the knife from my mama's hand.

I went toward the little girl and took off her clothes leaving her naked and began chopping. First, I slid the knife around her forehead trailing to the back of her neck. Once I finished that, I took off her hair leaving nothing but blood spilling out of her head. I threw her hair into the sink and took out the brain and put it on the table. Then I plucked out her eyes with my knife and cut off her lips and took off her finger nails and put them on the table. Then I chopped off her head and threw that into the sink. Then I went to the body. I cut off her arms, legs, feet, hands, and waist. Or at least I tried to because mamma had to help me on this one because I wasn't strong enough to cut off everything. I then took out her heart and lungs and put them on the table. Last but not least, I took all of the bones out of her body, threw them into the sink, and chopped up her body into smaller pieces.

"I finished mamma!" I screamed across the kitchen. I looked behind me to see mamma baking the pie… Clean!

"Ah, perfect timing Carrie! I had enough time to take a bath AND start the pie." She said with delight.

"Oh, how long did I take?" I asked.

"Oh, just two hours." She said while looking at the table, "Well, why did you keep the girls eyes, lips, fingernails, brains, heart, bones, and lungs?" She asked.

"You'll see." I said with a smile. I got the meat that I chopped up into little pieces and put them into the pie. Then, I got all the things on the table and chopped them up into little pieces and squeezed them in little areas in and on the crust of the pie to spell "Happy Halloween!" while grinding the bones till they were nothing but powder and spreading them on the pie and putting the finger nails on the circumference of the pie as a decoration.

"Oh wow! That's a good idea Carrie!" Mamma said.

"Thank you Baba Yaga." I said while she put the pie inside the oven and began to mop up the blood on the kitchen floor. Then we wrote a note explaining to my grandfather why there were parts of a decapitated corpse in the fridge and brought the pie home. Once we arrived home, I did my homework, ate dinner then went to bed.
