Hi folks! I do not have the next chapter for "Class Act" ready yet, so here is a one-shot I've been working on. If you've read "Diana's High School Story," this one shot takes place in a flashback during the story. Also, if you've read "Training," there's a little spoiler alert in there. The entire story is in Wilbur's POV. Enjoy! DISCLAIMER: I do not own anything related to "Meet the Robinsons," "High School Story," or "Criminal Case," I only own Diana and Karena.

February 16, 2060 - Westport, Connecticut, USA

"Dad, can we talk?"

I looked to see my 15-year-old daughter walking in the living room with a concerned look on her face. I reflected on how much she was like me as she took a seat on the chair across from me. Diana Robinson looked just like me with her brown eyes with long black locks of hair. Today, she had decided to wear bangs instead of a cowlick. But she had her mother in her, too, as Diana shared her smile and her curves, as well as her compassionate personality mixed in with my confident one.

I gave her a smile as I sat up on the couch from my lying position.

"Sure, Diana. What's going on?"

"Was Ashley… always manipulative? Or did she have a good side?"

"Oh, Diana. Well, I'm sure you know Marina Romanova, the profiler who retired before Ashley came in?"

"Yes, I remember her."

I rubbed my neck.

"Marina had the strongest instincts on the team, though Amy is a close second," I explained. "But when Ashley was first introduced to us, we all warmed up to her. She seemed very sweet, but at the same time, she was determined to help put time-travelling criminals behind bars. But none of us knew what she was really after."

"How many adventures did you go on together?" Diana asked.

"Diana, why are you asking me this?" I asked, shaking my head. "Don't you have better things to do with your time today?"

"Because Mom mentioned that you were stressed when Ashley was a TIME agent, and I want to help you completely close that chapter out."

"You're not going to let this go, are you?" I asked with a smirk.

"Nope!"

I saw Diana's confident smile, and I let out a sigh.

"Well, Ashley worked pretty well with us at TIME. She was almost everything Marina was: smart, talented, manipulative, good-looking. But Zara thought something was off about her, and she could not find any evidence about her behavior. But, one day, Amy came into my office…"

FLASHBACK: April 20, 2055 – New York City, New York, USA

"Wilbur Robinson!"

I looked up from my desk to see an angry Amy Young, the chief of TIME and my boss, walking into my office.

"Amy, is everything alright?"

"You tell me."

"Amy, what is going on?"

"Did you steal money from the past?"

"What?" I angrily stood up from my chair. "I did no such thing and I will never do that sort of thing! What makes you think I stole money from the past?"

"Zara and I found proof at the scene of the theft in Aruba back in the 1400s," Amy explained. "Your fingerprints were on the map we found."

"Amy, that map is evidence from the investigation!" I shot back. "I put it back in the evidence room when I finished analyzing it. I haven't touched it since."

"Are you sure you're telling the truth?" Amy asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Affirmative," I sternly answered.

"Agent Robinson, I'm sorry to do this to you, but you're going to have to leave TIME headquarters until we find who is behind these thefts in the past. It may be you, or it may be someone else, but we can't take any chances."

"Amy, I promise you it wasn't me," I pleaded. "Has anyone else been suspected of this?"

"That is confidential information," Amy replied with a flat expression.

"I'm a TIME agent!" I shouted. "I have every right to know!"

"Wilbur Robinson, you are a suspect in an investigation regarding thefts from all over the timelines!" Amy shouted back. "You cannot work on the case, and you will not be working on the case. If I find out that you interfered in this, not only will you be terminated, you will also be thrown in jail. Is that clear?"

"You can't do this, Amy!" I pleaded as she walked away.

"That's 'Chief Young' to you. Is that clear?"

"Yes, ma'am," I answered sadly as I sank down in my chair. Then, I clocked out, and I headed outside, where I found the majority of the team.

"Wilbur?! You're a suspect, too?"

I turned to my left to see a shocked Jack Archer waiting outside.

"What is going on?" Theodore Moon asked, and I saw that Ashley Faris and Grace Delaney had joined us as well.

"I guessing Amy and Zara found evidence from all of us in the investigation?" I asked, and everyone nodded.

"I'm surprised that Ashley's a suspect," Grace spoke up. "She just started here."

"Wilbur shocked me the most," Theo said. "He's the last person I expected to steal something."

"Now, hold on. All of us are innocent until proven guilty," I explained, holding my hands up. "Unfortunately, I got told not to interfere."

"What if we did our own investigation?" Jack asked.

"Jack, what's the point?" Ashley asked. "Amy's just going to throw us in jail if we interfered."

"Now, hold on," I chimed in again. "I think Jack's got something there. We can't interfere in Amy and Zara's investigation."

"But we can't leave the area, either," Grace said with sadness. "We're all suspects, and we have to stay close to headquarters."

"Shall we get hotel rooms for the night?" Theo asked.

"I don't think that's a good idea," I replied, cupping my chin in my right hand. "We'll look like we're conspiring against TIME, especially since we are together. I could go back to Todayland—"

"Wilbur, you can't. You're a suspect," Jack explained. "If Amy and Zara find out that you left the area, you'll move to the top of the suspect list and be put in jail."

"So, what do we do?" Ashley asked.

"Any plans, Wilbur?" Theo asked, and I gave him a look of disbelief.

"Theo, I just tried giving you a plan. Besides, why are you asking me? Surely, someone has an idea."

"Because when Amy's not around, you're a leader," Ashley replied. "You have always come up with solutions whenever we are unsure of ourselves."

"Well, we can't all plan something with our minds wrapped around the fact that we're suspects in a theft investigation," I proposed. "Let's just go home and cool our heads. We can regroup in the morning."

"Is there a place we can meet?" Theo asked.

"We can meet at my place," Grace suggested. "It's in Huntington."

"Across the bay from my place," I replied. "That will work."

"Besides, if I remember correctly from my being a suspect in the past, we'll be called to the station if Amy or Zara need to talk to us," Jack explained.

"But we're not supposed to be anywhere near headquarters," Ashley reminded us, and we all let out sighs.

"Let's not give up, guys," I said with a smirk on my face. "We'll come up with something."

I collapsed on my bed before I heard a knock on the door, and in came my wife of almost 13 years, Karena. Today, she had her long brown hair in a ponytail, and she was wearing a brown dress to bring out her green eyes.

"Going to bed already, Wilbur?" Karena asked as she took a seat.

"I thought you were cooking dinner," I replied.

"I was almost done. Diana can finish that. She's a big girl. So, something's going on that you're in bed early."

"You would not believe what happened today at work," I told her, sitting up. "Amy just walked into my office and accused me of stealing money from the past."

"What?! You didn't, did you?"

"Of course not!" I shot back. "I… think I'm being framed. And… I shouldn't be telling you this, but it's not just me who is suspected of theft."

"Other members of TIME are accused, too?" Karena asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Amy seems to think that this was an inside job or something, but I don't know. I could… interrogate each member of the team."

"Wilbur, I don't think that's a good idea. You're already a suspect in the investigation. Do you really want to be in more trouble than you already are?"

"But there has to be something I can do!"

"The Wilbur Robinson I know will find a way to bring justice to the world without breaking the rules," Karena replied, caressing my cheek and then brushing her lips against mine. I kissed her back, and I brought her down to the bed and started kissing her passionately until we heard a knock on the door.

"Mommy? Daddy? Dinner's ready."

"Psst, Kai!"

"Wilbur, you shouldn't be here," Kai, TIME's technology expert, remarked as I somersaulted out of the vents of TIME headquarters.

"I'm sorry, but most, if not all, of us are innocent," I explained in a hushed voice. "You're the only TIME agent asides from Amy and Zara who is not a suspect in the investigation. I need your help. Are there cameras set up in here?"

"I know a place where they aren't."

Kai led me to a dark room that was connected to his, and I took a feel around.

"A broom closet?"

"Do you have a better solution?" Kai asked, and I shook my head. "So, what do you need from me? To prove your innocence? You know I cannot do that."

"I know, that's why I came to you. I know for a fact that I'm being framed. Amy and Zara found my fingerprints in a crime scene in Aruba. But I didn't commit the thefts! There has to be something I can do to prove my innocence!"

"You could just let Amy and Zara do their jobs," Kai suggested.

"Oh come on, Kai. Are there cameras set up in the time machine?"

"Wilbur, you're a genius! Of course. We can track who entered or left the time machine at what time!"

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

"Now, hold on Wilbur, if Amy finds out you disobeyed her orders in staying out of TIME headquarters, you're going to be in a heap of trouble. Stay in this broom closet for now."

"Wait, Kai, I just remembered… I'm a Jedi."

"You're a WHAT?!"

"Shh! You're gonna get us both in trouble!" I quietly exclaimed, putting my hand over his mouth. "I can manipulate the cameras to make Amy think I was never here."

"What do you have? Superpowers?!"

"Something like that. I actually was trained in the Jedi arts, even if it was for a short time. But you do what you need to do. I'm gonna try to figure out I can bug our badges with miniature cameras."

"Wilbur, what good will that do?"

"If one of us truly is guilty of these thefts, that agent will come back and take the time machine somewhere in the past or future, or even stow away on the time machine with Amy and Zara. And then, it won't be me reporting these badges. It will be you."

"Wilbur, are you sure this will work?" Kai asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Trust me, I've got it all under control," I whispered back before Kai left the closet and rushed off to the time machine.

I brought my Jedi training back to my mind, and I used the Force to move the camera to where it could not see me. Then, I got out of the closet and took a look around Kai's office. Using what my dad had taught me back in Todayland, I took apart five cameras. I ran to the lobby in the front, where our badges were, and I placed the lens in a place that would not be too obvious on our badges, all while manipulating the cameras. Then, I got back in the broom closet in Kai's office and waited for him to return. After a short time, I heard a knock, and I opened the door to reveal Kai.

"What did you find?" I asked.

"Ashley really likes to explore," Kai answered with a laugh. "She's always getting out of the time machine in every investigation."

"But where would she be going?" I asked with a puzzled look. "She's not a field agent."

"Neither are you, yet here you are. Ashley would wait for 15 minutes after Jack and Zara leave the time machine and then leave herself."

"But what if Jack and Zara found a psychological clue for Ashley to analyze?" I asked. "How would she know when to get back?"

"She would have been paged. But by who?"

"Me. Her office is the closest to mine. No wonder I'm paging her so much."

"And if you're paging her, she may know your every move."

"No, I don't think so. Just that I'm in my office. But we're agreed in that Ashley is the suspect to watch for?"

"Yes. I will let Amy know tomorrow, but not that you helped me."

"Thank you, Kai. You have no idea how much this means to me."

We exchanged smiles as I got back into the vent, but then I realized something else.

"Kai."

"What is it?"

"I remember Amy telling me that she found my fingerprints on a map that was supposed to be in the evidence room. Do you think you can look at the security footage?"

"Wilbur, you're a genius!" Kai exclaimed as I jumped back into the room and he got to work on the computer. "What time did you put the map in the evidence room?"

"Around 5 o'clock that day."

"I wonder how our culprit found that map then."

"The culprit is one of us," I answered with a stern look on my face. "No one outside of TIME has access to the evidence room. That is why five of us are suspects."

"So one of us is responsible for the money thefts?" Kai asked suspiciously. "Who could have done this?"

"Well, we can't trust anyone, and I imagine you don't trust me right now."

"For all we know, you could be setting me up."

"I'm not that kind of person, Kai," I replied. "Besides, if I really was trying to set you up, I would have done so already."

"You're good at being sneaky?"

"Hey, sneaky was my middle name when I was a teenager. I can be sneaky when I want to."

"Wilbur, look at this."

I turned my attention toward the security footage in the evidence room… and I found Ashley taking not only the map, but other pieces of evidence that was handled by other members of the team.

"Wilbur, you did put the camera in her badge, right?" Kai asked.

"Yep. I put cameras in all of ours." I paused when we heard a noise. "What was that?"

"Wilbur, that was the time machine."

"We need to get over there!" I exclaimed, but I was held back.

"Wilbur, you're a suspect in an investigation, remember? If Amy catches you, you could be thrown in jail!"

"Don't remind me!" I shot back. "So what do we do? Just sit here?"

"If that is, indeed, Ashley on the time machine, the truth will come out," Kai said, and I nodded in agreement as I jumped back into the vent and out of TIME headquarters.

"Wilbur, Wilbur wake up."

I felt myself shaken awake the next morning by my wife, who held my phone in her hands.

"Karr, what are you doing with my phone?"

"It's Amy. She needs to talk to you."

Karena handed my phone to me, and I had hoped she didn't find out about my breaking into TIME headquarters.

"What is it, Chief?"

"Wilbur, it's Amy. I need you to come to headquarters right away."

"I thought you needed me to stay away from headquarters."

"It doesn't matter now. We found the culprit, but I need your help."

"I'm on my way."

"Wilbur, you're not dressed," Karena said as I hung up.

"Good thing I don't take long to get dressed," I replied as I hurriedly put on my shirt and jeans and bolted out the door to my flying car, and I sped to TIME headquarters. When I got there, I saw Amy running towards me.

"Wilbur, thank heavens you're here."

"What's going on, Amy?" I asked.

"I need someone with a level head right now, and that's you. I need your help catching Ashley. With Kai's help, we discovered that Ashley had gone to both the past and the future to take money."

"Why would she go to the future?" I asked, scratching my head.

"I don't know, but I'm hoping we can catch her in the middle of her time-travelling adventures before it's too late." I heard a beep coming from Amy's commlink, and she answered it. "What is it? Oh no!"

"What is it?" I asked.

"Follow me."

I followed Amy to the catacombs of TIME headquarters, where we found the safe door broken.

"Oh my gosh!"

We ran in to find a mess in the safe with money everywhere.

"Did Ashley do this?" I asked.

"Kai, check the security cameras in the safe room," Amy commanded on the commlink.

"Did Ashley know you were on to her?" I asked with worry.

"Kai told me he found evidence of Ashley getting out of the time machine every time I send you guys on a mission. Ashley was also in the evidence room and took evidence out of there… every single time we had an investigation."

"Oh boy… are the timelines messed up?"

"Big time. Money is a big deal throughout history and time. But we need to find Ashley in order to make this right."

"If we know where she is. Do you have any suggestions?"

"Kai discovered a way to find out what everyone's been up to by inserting cameras into our badges. I only wish I had thought of that sooner. Maybe we can look at Ashley's badge?"

"We could try. After all, you can't enter TIME headquarters without the badge."

With Kai's help, we discovered that Ashley, indeed, got into TIME headquarters overnight and took the time machine to the past. After she got back, she broke into the safe and stole money from TIME, and then she went into Amy's office and submitted her resignation letter, which we were reading.

"I cannot believe this," Amy said with anger in her voice. "I have been working with profilers for over 40 years, and not one gave me a reason not to trust them until today."

"Amy, trust has nothing to do with this," I reminded her. "Ashley is on the loose, and we need to catch her."

"About that. I need to talk to you while we're in here. I would like to thank you for helping me and Zara find out who was responsible for all of those thefts. Kai explained everything to me."

"He did?" I asked with a blush.

"Yes. Wilbur, you were a suspect in that investigation. What were you trying to prove?"

"My innocence! Amy, you knew I was innocent."

"But you could have been lying, Wilbur! Thankfully, the truth came out, but it may take some time for me to trust you again after you disobeyed my orders."

"So, I take it I'm fired from TIME?"

"Wilbur, while I don't trust you right now, you are one of the best agents TIME has ever seen. Even as a suspect, you still fought for the truth. Without you, we wouldn't have figured out Ashley would be capable of this. You're not fired, because we need you. But, I do have to discipline you, and I have to suspend you from the team for a couple weeks."

"I suppose it could be worse," I replied with a downcast look on my face. "But thank you for believing in me, Chief. I'll respectfully take my leave."

BACK TO THE PRESENT…

"You're a fighter, Dad," Diana said after I finished telling her my story. "You fight, even when suspended."

"Well hey, a Robinson doesn't give up that easily," I replied with a wink.

"So, Ashley just… wrote that resignation letter and left?"

"That's right. I hadn't seen her since we grouped up outside of headquarters. Ashley must have known Amy and Zara were onto her when she was flagged down."

"Well that's cowardly," Diana said with some anger in her voice.

"Like a wise man told me, criminals are a cowardly and superstitious lot. But it doesn't mean Ashley wasn't smart."

"She was a profiler!"

"Exactly. But Westport has three bright students who proved to be smarter than her, and I couldn't be prouder of you, Michael, and Maria for helping us arrest Ashley once and for all."

Diana gave me a big smile, and then we embraced each other for the longest time. In those moments, I reflected on how blessed I was being her father and how I raised a young woman to be confident and brave.
