Four years had past since Sakaki and her classmates had graduated high school. Kaorin had been a casual friend of hers, during her high school years. However, things had changed for both of them. Kaorin had always had a crush on Sakaki. Sakaki had been busy with too many things to notice that. However, as time moved on and new feelings were discovered, Sakaki found out about Kaorin's crush and she got a crush on her too. That didn't mean that things were perfect. Both of them were shy and things could hardly be more awkward, because of that.

One day, Sakaki was lounging in at her house. She looked around for her cellphone, because she heard it ringing. She grabbed it and saw that Kaorin was the one calling her. She said, "Hi Kaorin. How are you?"

Kaorin shyly replied, "Things are good, pretty good."

Sakaki paced around her living room, looking a little nervous, while asking, "What's up?"

Kaorin answered, "Well, it's been a month since our last date."

Sakaki thought about it and realized that it really had been that long since their last date. The two of them both had jobs: Sakaki was a pet shop worker and Kaorin was a pony groomer. Their busy jobs served as part of the reason for going a month without a date. However, that wasn't the only reason. Despite dating for over a year, they still felt shy and awkward around each other. Sakaki said, "I guess it has been that long. It's hard to believe that."

Kaorin shyly replied, "Perhaps we can change that."

Sakaki paused and asked, "What do you mean?"

Kaorin explained, "We should go another date."

Sakaki thought about it and replied, "Oh, um, maybe we should do that."

Kaorin lightly smiled and responded, "It would be something I like."

Sakaki mildly calmed up, while saying, "I'm free, this afternoon."

Kaorin replied, "Me too. Should we meet up at the fast food place that's across the street from my house?"

Sakaki lightly smiled and said, "Sounds good. I'll meet you there, at noon." She got off the phone. She still felt nervous, but she wanted to get over it. After all, it was a year since she and Kaorin started dating and a year since their high school years had ended. She and Kaorin had to get over their worries, at some point, and they hoped they would get over those feelings soon.

Meanwhile, Ms. Yukari was still a high school teacher and once again, she was late for school. She looked at her cellphone and saw that it was almost 8:00 a.m. She angrily said, "Oh come on! Why can't time be on my side?!" She looked around and saw that the speed limit was twenty miles. She was already going almost thirty miles and was starting to drive faster. She had a sneaky smile on her face, while saying, "If I keep going at this rate, I'll get to school ontime."

She heard the sounds of a police car. The police officer said, "Pull up."

Yukari angrily replied, "You gotta be kidding me." She reluctantly pulled her car over.

The police officer parked her police car and started walking up to Yukari. Yukari was surprised by who the police officer was, Tomo! Tomo had been one of her students, but that was four years ago. Tomo waved to Yukari and said, "Hi, former teacher. It's nice seeing you, but I'm going to have to give you an unpleasant sight: a ticket."

Yukari angrily asked, "A ticket?! How could you give me such a thing?! I was your teacher. You owe me respect."

Tomo sternly replied, "Don't forget about all those times you gave me detention and showed me tough love, if it even could be considered love."

Yukari had a desperate look on her face, while saying, "Come on. Show me some fairness."

Tomo started writing up a ticket, while saying, "By giving you a ticket, I'm showing you fairness. I'm sorry, but it's what you deserve." She handed the ticket to Yukari and started heading back to duty. Yukari started heading to the school, while whining about getting a ticket.

A half hour later, Yukari arrived at school. She walked in, with an angry look on her face. Minamo saw her and asked, "What's going on? You're a half hour late. They had to last minute substitute, well in this case it's a late minute substitute."

Yukari replied, "I was a little late, so I went a dozen miles over the speed limit." Minamo rolled her eyes. Yukari said, "Tomo's a police officer and she gave me a stupid ticket."

Minamo responded, "I'm sorry Yukari, but you had it coming. You've been getting in trouble and breaking the rules, for years. You need to grow and I hope you do that soon."

A few hours later, Sakaki started driving to the fast food place. She looked around and saw Yukari, driving crazily. Yukari's bad driving made Sakaki roll her eyes. She wondered if Yukari was ever going to grow up. She also wondered if she was ever going to grow up. She had been so overly shy and hidden, when it came to her relationship with Kaorin. She needed to work on that and she knew that.

A few minutes later, Sakaki arrived at the fast food place. She walked inside and saw that Kaorin was already there. She went to Kaorin's table and sat down. She looked at her girlfriend, while saying, "Hi Kaorin. It's really good to see you."

Kaorin replied, "I feel the same way, darling."

Sakaki blushed and responded, "I see you're already starting the cute nicknames thing."

Kaorin replied, "Yeah, we've wasted enough time."

Sakaki held hands with Kaorin, while saying, "I agree with that. I think it's time we stop with the time wasting thing. It's time for us to talk."

Kaorin replied, "I was so excited to see you again that I haven't even ordered lunch yet. Perhaps we should do that, before we start talking."

Sakaki shook her head and said, "No, we've wasted enough time."

Kaorin replied, "I agree with that."

Sakaki took a long pause, so she could sort out the things she wanted to say. She looked up and said, "Kaorin, I want to apologize."

Kaorin had a mildly concerned look on her face, while asking, "Why would you have a need to apologize?"

Sakaki had a guilty look on her face, while saying, "Because I haven't treating our relationship with the respect it deserves. Kaorin, I love you, I really do. However, I've been hiding from you, not because I doubted my feelings for you. The reason for me hiding was because I was shy, too shy."

Kaorin replied, "I'm just as guilty. In fact, I might be more guilty. I kept my crush on you a secret, throughout our high school years. I was so scared of getting rejected, that I didn't talk to you that much or ask what your feelings are."

Sakaki lightly smiled and said, "As time went on, we became a couple. Despite that, we've been hiding, hiding from each other and our feelings. I don't want to do that anymore."

Kaorin looked at Sakaki and asked, "Then what should we do?"

Sakaki answered, "We should tell our feelings to each other. Let's not hide how we feel, anymore."

Kaorin lightly smiled and replied, "Sounds good."

Sakaki gently rubbed Kaorin's hand, while saying, "Kaorin, you're the most beautiful and adorable girl I've ever seen. You're shy and gentle, but in the most charming and precious of ways. You're a very special young lady and it's an honor to be dating you."

Kaorin was blushing heavily from Sakaki's sentiment and replied, "Sakaki, you're the one who deserves to be called the most beautiful and adorable girl. Your intelligence, your charisma, and your adorable love for cats are all traits I really admire. You're the most wonderful person in my life and I deeply love you."

Sakaki and Kaorin stared at each other, with relief and admiration. It felt great to express their true feelings. Sakaki said, "I'm glad we did that. Instead of hiding and delaying our dates, let's go out more often."

Kaorin blushed and replied, "Wonderful plan, honey." Sakaki blushed too and she and Kaorin kissed each other.

Yukari walked by and saw them kiss. She said, "Sheesh, things sure have changed. Tomo's a police officer and you two have become the lovey dovey type."

Kaorin looked at Yukari and asked, "Have you changed?"

Sakaki replied, "Considering what her driving's like, I doubt that."

Yukari nervously laughed and responded, "I've been a pretty big disaster, when it comes to driving or showing up to school ontime."

Sakaki replied, "I may be speaking out of line, but shouldn't you head to school earlier?"

Yukari bonked Sakaki on the head and said, "That is speaking out of line." She paused and said, "However, you're right. I've been messing up, for years. It's time to change that. I'm going to show up to school, ontime."

The next morning, Yukari woke up a half hour earlier than usual and tried to get ready quicker. After getting ready, she went into her car and started driving to school. She was tempted to drive over the speed limit. It was a weird addiction of hers, but she decided to fight her addiction and drive the proper speed limit. Officer Tomo looked around and saw Yukari driving the legal speed limit, so she gave Yukari two thumbs up. Yukari stuck her tongue out at Tomo, because she was still upset about the ticket.

A few minutes later, Yukari arrived at school. Minamo saw Yukari and was pleasantly surprised to see Minamo ontime. She patted Yukari on the back and said, "Congratulations, you're fifteen minutes early. What inspired you to do this?"

Yukari answered, "Two overly cute, but nice young ladies." She looked out the window and saw Sakaki and Kaorin holding hands, going on a walk. Yukari gave them two thumbs up.
