Mallory was sitting in his chair with a broken arm after taking a bullet to it in a shootout which was nearly unheard of with him an agent who usually sat behind a desk.

He had just talked with Bond who had only just got through the last mission himself. Now with no M he was the one to take over as he was the most senior agent. That sounded great! It made him feel really old.

He looked down at his desk. There was a file with private marked right across it. No one apart from him and one person knew what this was about. No one else could know, not even Bond and Moneypenny and they knew everything that was going on.

"Miss Moneypenny?" He called out of his office.

Moneypenny entered his office.

"Yes sir?"

"Get me this person."

Mallory passed her a piece of paper with a name on it. She took it and looked at it. Then she looked at him with wide eyes.

"What's the matter Moneypenny? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"It's just this person. Are you sure you want me to contact him?"

"Yes. I wouldn't ask you otherwise would I?"

"But sir…"

"Is there a problem with you getting him or getting in touch with him?"

"No but…"

"Good then. You can call him and ask him to come to my office."

"Yes sir."

Moneypenny left the office. She looked down at the piece of paper again to make sure it was the person she thought it was. Yep it was. She looked back at Ms office. She was very confused about why he wanted this person to come to the office. He would be the least likely person they would need.

She took her seat again and picked up the phone. She typed in the number and waited until a person came over the phone.

"Buckingham Palace. How can we help you?"

"Yes, it's Moneypenny here. We need him to come back."

The call ended as soon as she said that. The other side hung up. Moneypenny stared at the phone, shrugged and put it back down. Whoever was on the other side didn't want to speak to her.

Before she could get back to her laptop, Tanner came in with another load of files in his arms.

"Having fun?" She asked him.

"You bet." He said back.

Moneypenny smiled and went back to her work.

Tanner knocked on his boss's door. An answer came and he went through the door. The new M wasn't even facing him so he knew he would just be putting files on the desk and then leaving. He did this and walked back out the door.

Moneypenny looked up again. She gave out a little laugh.

"What?!" Tanner said laughing along with her.

"He never pays you any attention. Why do you still work for M?"

"You get used to it. You have to."

"I never would."

"And that's why you're on the field soon and I'm not."

"Suppose."

"How long is it until you're back in the field?"

"Soon I hope."

"He's not that bad is he?"

"You have no idea. Look at this."

Moneypenny gave Tanner the piece of paper M had given her. Tanner read it and then looked up at her with the same expression she gave.

"I know right."

"Why would he ask for him?"

"I don't know. Obviously he wants him for something."

"Glad he's told us about it."

"Get used to it."

"Very funny." He smirked.

Moneypenny looked down at her files and Tanner went towards the door. Then gunshots came from outside. They both turned to each other.

"Get Bond back here now!" Tanner shouted as he ran out the door.

Moneypenny picked up the red phone under her desk.

"Bond, you're needed back here now!"
