Miracle City

A place that prides itself on family values
Where ones' name and family honor means more than all the money in the world

This is the continuing story of Carlos Avera,
A young boy who will find himself caught between his family's legacy of good and evil
The only question now is which side will he choose?

Carlos bent down getting into starting position, trying to control his breathing. Now he just have to wait. Waiting! That is the worst. He hated waiting more than anything. Wishing that he can just start and get it over with. 'BANG!' Reacting to the sound of the starting gun, Carlos jumped off the springboard with all of his might, diving into the pool along with several other competitors. Carlos grew frustrated as he made little progress no matter how hard he's paddling, and seeing the others passing him didn't help matters either. You see, Carlos doesn't really like water and barely learned how to swim. This is probably due to the mystical cat and bird essences in his DNA. So why did he joined the swim team you ask? Well ever since he gained his jock status after winning the soccer championship, Carlos has tried out for every sports team the school has to offer. Baseball, Basketball, even Lacrosse, and he excelled in all of them. So now swimming is just the next sport on his list to conquer.

Fatigue quickly started to set in, and he's barely even made it half way across the pool. Carlos never felt so tired in his life, and he once ran 5K marathon without breaking a sweat. Unable to keep his head above water, he slowly sank. As he gently floated in the abyss, Carlos felt a sense of calm. Like he can attain eternal peace if he just give up. After all if he's not going to win, what's the point in even trying. NO! Carlos shook such thoughts out of his head! His Avera family pride would not allow him to give up. Even with something he hates. He may lose this race but it won't be because he gave up. Pushing himself past his aching muscles, trying to ignore his lungs plea for oxygen, Carlos made his way to the other end of the pool. Kicking him self off the wall, he propelled himself halfway across the pool. Making it easier for him to swim the rest of the way. After making it back to the other end, Carlos frantically searched for the ladder and climbed out of the pool. Quickly gasping for air, filling up his much grateful lungs.

"Yay you finally made it!" his little sister Maria cheered, bringing him a towel. Standing right next to her is their brother Pablo and that's it. There's no sign of the crowds or other swimmers in the area. For you see this wasn't a real swim meet. He was just practicing in the Avera family pool. Using image training to get himself in the proper mindset for when he's in an actually swim meet.

"You mean I broke my record?" Carlos huffed hopefully as he dried himself off.

"Actually you did worst," Pablo informed him. Showing his big brother the stopwatch. It read more than 13 minutes.

"But how it that possible," Carlos groaned in disappointment.

"Here let me show you," Pablo presented his new golden phone and played back the video he recording on it. Carlos blushed in embarrassment seeing himself splashing around in the water for more than 9 minutes; not even making it halfway across the pool. In fact no one with a rational mind could even call his actions swimming. It looked more like he was trying to claw his way out of the water in a desperate bid to keep his head up.

"You're not going to post that are you?" Carlos begged his brother.

"Huh what? Sorry I couldn't hear you over me posting this video." Pablo teased as he pressed send.

"It's not all bad big bro," Maria assured him. Grabbing the phone from Pablo, she hit the fast forwarding button to the part after he sank. Since he was underwater for a bit, his siblings feared that he might be drowning. However due to the Avera curse, they also hate swimming so they were reluctant to dive in after him. However in their defense the did throw several floaties in hopes of saving him. To their surprise, when he started moving again, he continued swimming forward at great speeds under water! Continuing the entire lap in under 2 minutes. "Strange as it seems, for some reason you swim better underwater than on top of it." Maria praised.

"Hey no touche my new phone!" Pablo scolded taking his phone back. Carlos was about to say something when they all heard a several beeping coming from Pablo's phone. "Hey look bro, you've got over 1000 likes!" Pablo showing his siblings.

"Really!? Over 1000 already?" Carlos beamed with pride.

"Yeah, in fact they are calling you the 'Dolphin' for swimming under water like that; and they're texting, 'keep your head below water and you'll be a champ in no time'." Pablo reading some of the comments.

"That's great," Carlos cheered sarcastically. "Too bad there's no underwater swim competition." While there's no real right or wrong way to swim, most swim competitions require a specific stroke and unfortunately there are none where people swim underwater due to most people unable to hold their breath for too long. At least none that he's aware of.

"Hey don't worry about it big brother. I'm sure you'll figure something out." Maria encouraged.

"Thanks you guys," Carlos feeling better from his siblings support. "Say how about we hang out at the mall or something to celebrate. My treat." Carlos offered. To his surprise both Maria and Pablo turned pale at the suggestion.

"Sorry Carlos but me and the gang are going to 'get' the new game releases," Pablo coughed.

"And uh I have a very important 'dress rehearsal' for my next gig," Maria chuckled nervously.

"Maybe next time!" they both said at the same time before running off.

"That's weird, they never pass up a chance to hang out, or a free meal?" Carlos feeling a bit puzzled by his siblings' hasty departure. That's when he noticed something tugging at his leg. "Oh hey Glove, you want to celebrate with me?" Carlos asked. Glove immediately bobbed up and down in excitement.

Later in the city, Carlos and Glove were getting some tacos. All the while Carlos was boasting about his performance at the pool today. Stating how amazing it was for him to swim underwater like that and earning the name Dolphin. Despite his best attempts to hide it, it was pretty obvious to Glove that his friend was trying to hide his insecurities under all that bravado. The fact that Carlos still can't perform a single stroke or keep his head above water obviously bothers him. It bothers him quite a lot actually. Still being a good friend/pet/item of power, Glove did its best to give Carlos all the emotional support it can. Which Carlos greatly appreciates. Especially now since his siblings are spending less and less time with him for some reason.

As they continued down the street, they heard a loud explosion! "What was that?" Carlos in the direction of the explosion, he saw a large crowd gathering around what looked like girl in a winged Cleopatra costume and a red robot fighting each other. "Is this some kind of movie or game promotion?" Carlos wondered as he and Glove joined the crowd.

"Nah Pink Sphinx and Griffon are at it again," a random citizen informed him.

"Pink Sphinx and Griffon? Here? Now?" Carlos said in awe. He's heard the rumors of the new hero and villain arriving in Miracle City but he didn't really believe it. Thinking it was just some tabloid nonsense. Curious he wanted to get a better look and forced his way through the crowd. As he made it to the front of the crowd he witness Pink Sphinx knocking out the rest of Griffon Gang, all wearing the standard black uniforms and masks, and is now focusing on fighting Griffon.

"Is that all you got?" Pink Sphinx mocked as she dodged Griffon's punch.

"Not even close!" Griffon ranted as the robot picked up a parked car and flung it at Sphinx. Sphinx easily dodged it, but that meant that the car would land near the spectators watching the fight! Including Carlos.

"Whoa that was too close!" Carlos cried from his near death experience. "This is getting dangerous, maybe we should clear out?" he asked Glove. Glove shook negative and pointed to Carlos's belt buckle. "Oh right I have powers too," he realized. "But what do I use it for? Do I help Sphinx or Griffon?" Carlos asked. Glove only shrugged. It was only focusing on getting Carlos his powers that it never really thought about how the boy should use it.

Back at the battle, Griffon fired some missiles at Sphinx. Sphinx uses her wings to shield herself from the missiles then counters with some shots from her laser. The laser didn't do that much damage due to it being at its lowest setting but it did effect Griffon's holographic integrity causing parts of him to glitch. "Hah, is that all you got? Your laser is so pathetic you might as well just be using a squirt gun!" Griffon mocked.

Sphinx smiled, "You compare my laser with water? Well riddle me this. How is a low setting on a laser like white water?"

"I hate riddles," Griffon spat. Followed my mummers from the crowd trying to come up with answers for her riddle.

"Because they're rapid!" Sphinx answered as fired her lasers in full auto-mode. While the blast themselves were still weak, the fierce spay of the shots had effect ever area they hit causing the pieces of the suit to fizzle out for a second before reforming. In one area of the suit, Sphinx notice a small gold device among the red holographic skin. Focusing on that spot, she concentrated all of her shots to drill a large enough hole around the gold object. Then throwing her ankh staff like a javelin, she managed to hit the gold area before the red holo shell could reform around it.

"OH NO MY PHO...COMPUTER CORE!" Griffon corrected himself as his suit began glitching even more than usual. His dashboard giving him the warning that suit is compromised and that shutdown is imminent. "Oh no, now people will see it's me!" Pablo cried fearing that he'll be caught and arrested, or worst grounded. As the canopy for his cockpit dissolved he could clearly see Sphinx charging to finish him off. But then out of nowhere, a black figure jumped in fray body slamming Sphinx out of the way and tossing a tarp over Pablo's body.

"I'm afraid I can't let you do that," the mysterious black figure said in an obvious bad attempt at a Batman voice. He was wearing an all black cat suit with steel claws and what looked like a snake for a tail.

"Who are you?" Everyone asked.

"I'm uh..." the stranger stuttering unable to answer. A few moments earlier as the Griffon's canopy was glitching out, for a split second, Carlos caught a glimpse inside and saw who was in the cockpit. As his elderly brother instincts kicked in, he activated his belt and rushed in to save little brother. Putting him in a situation where he's now.

"I don't know who you are and I don't care. If you're with him, then I'm taking you both down!" Sphinx declared swinging her staff at the intruder! To her surprise the stranger/Carlos blocked her attack with one hand. He then countered with a punch to the face. Sphinx managed to dodge it and responded with a series of round kicks. The stranger sidestepped into the shadow between two buildings vanishing from sight. "Where did he go?" Sphinx shocked to see him disappearing like that. Only for him to strike her from her blind side before disappearing again. As he tried to sneak attack again, she was ready for him and blocked it with her staff. She swung repeatedly with her staff but he managed to hold his own. It was almost like they were equally matched. "You got style I'll give you that," she acknowledges.

"Oh I've got more than that," he warned as he grabbed his snake tail with his right hand. Twirling his snake tail around, it began stretching like a rubber band nearly doubling in length. Whipping it at her, managed to smack the staff out of Sphinx's hand. Distracted by the loss of her weapon, Sphinx left herself open for the stranger to finish her off with a flying jump kick that sent her crashing into a nearby fruit stand.

Seeing his chance, the stranger grabs Pablo who was still under the tarp, extends a pair of grey wings and silently jets off. With barely making any noise or smoke behind him. Screaming in frustration Sphinx extended her own wings and flew after him. Sadly due to fact that there's no smoke trail to follow, Sphinx lost them after a few minutes. As much as she'd like to continue to search for her enemies, the sharp pain in her everything was telling her that now is not the time to go looking for a fight. With that she retreated back for some medical treatment.

Within the shadows of a random alley, Carlos waited until the Sphinx left. Once she was gone, he went over to check on his brother. "Are you alright?" he asked.

"Yeah, thanks for saving me but who are you?" Pablo asked suspiciously.

"Oh right," Carlos deactivates his belt reverting back to his civilian form.

"Carlos!? You have powers!?" Pablo gasped.

"Me? What about you? I'd never suspect that your the notorious Glitch Griffon." Carlos laughed.

"That's Great Griffon," Pablo insisted. Despite his best efforts to get the public to call him Great Griffon, due to his constant glitching and his teammates teasingly calling his Glitchy, he ended up being named Glitch Griffon. "But what about you? When did you get your powers?"

"A few days ago actually," Carlos showing off his belt buckle. "Still trying to get the hang of it though."

Pablo pondered for a minute, "Say I have an idea. How about you join my gang?"

"Say wha-?" Carlos choked. He's never really considered what he'd do with his new found powers but one thing for sure; he has no desire to be a criminal. "I- I mean we can't be villains! What would mom and dad say?"

"Oh you can't do anything without mommy and daddy's OK?" Pablo mocked.

"Mom and Dad are the head of the largest security firm in the country. If we become villains it will be like we're betraying them! They could throw in jail or worst, ground us!" Carlos argued. "And besides, we're rich. Why do we need to steal?"

"Oh come on bro, you know how mom and dad stingy with their cash!" Pablo grumbled in frustration. "Besides isn't there something you want that they won't allow you to have?" Pablo nudged. Carlos gulped nervously. Knowing that his brother is preying on his weaknesses. "If we have our own money we can get you your very own furry friend, no an entire pet store, heck maybe even a whole zoo!"

"Gotta have them all," Carlos drooling at the image of being surrounded by all the adorable pets he's ever wanted. "Okay I'm in!" Carlos giving in to temptation.

"Great, now all you need is a cool name." Pablo cheered.

"I been working on my alter ego name," Carlos said excitedly. "Ahem, Presenting the Macho Manticore!"

"Nah that sounds too heroic to be one of my minions," Pablo rejected.

"Uh minion?" Carlos not liking the idea of being his baby brother's underling.

"I got it," Pablo ignoring his brother's objection. "In honor of Puma Loco who gave me my power I'll call you the Crazy Chimera!"

"Now hold on bro, I think I should be the one to decide my own name!" Carlos insisted.

"I'll double you pay," Pablo bribed.

"Crazy Chimera it is!" Carlos agreed. Despite the fact that they have yet to negotiate his fee.

Later at the Avera mansion, Carlos was walking down the halls with Glove. Telling it about how Pablo also has powers and that they are going to be super villains together. Glove gave a thumbs up, proud that Carlos is getting into his family's super power legacy. As they neared his sister's room they could hear her yelling in pain. "Maria are you alright!" Carlos barging into his sister's room. Only to be shocked at seeing her still in her Sphinx costume, only without her helmet on, tending to her wounds.

"JERK! YOU CAN'T JUST COME INTO MY ROOM LIKE THAT!" Marla screamed.

"Sorry, but you're the Pink Sphinx?" Carlos yelped in shock.

"I guess it was only a matter of time before someone found out," Maria sighed sadly. She then told him how this strange old lady gave her the Aves bracelet and how she modified it with her Cleopatra costume.

"Maria you know that you should never accept gifts from strangers!" Carlos lectured.

"I know but it's just that when I have this suit on I feel so powerful. Not to mention all the new fans I got. It's almost like this suit was meant for me. You get me?" Maria trying to justify her choices.

"Yeah I kinda do," Carlos nervously fidgeting with his belt buckle. An act that Maria quickly noticed.

"Why are you doing that?" She asked suspiciously.

"Doing what?" Carlos wondered.

"That!" She pointed to him playing with his buckle. "Dad always does that when ever he's hiding something from mom." Ever since he gave up his powers, Manny developed a nervous habit of reaching for his belt buckle to escape from uncomfortable situations. Such as being scolded or lectured by his wife. Sadly since it's no longer an item of power, it does nothing to help him and only serves to tell everyone that he's guilty of something. "Are you hiding something?" Maria accused.

"Hiding? Me? I'm hiding nothing?" Carlos lied. Still jiggling his buckle.

"Tell me!" Maria tackling her brother. This caused Carlos to accidentally spin his belt buckle. Releasing a blinding light blue flame. Strangely different from the greenish flame that normally comes out when he changes into Crazee.

'Oh no, now she'll know that I'm the one who beat her up. And if she tell on me, mom and dad will ground me for sure.' Carlos closed his eyes hoping to lessen the blow when Maria realized what's going on.

"Carlos, you have a super suit too!" Maria squealed. Not in horror but rather joy.

Carlos slowly opened his eyes and in her mirror saw that he was wearing a similar but obviously different costume to what he normally transformed into. He still has the same black outfit and steel claws; but now instead of a cat mask he has a bird mask albeit with cat ears, a long blue scarf, and a normal cat tail. "Uh yeah, this is my secret," Carlos just going with.

"Cool," Maria admiring her brother's suit. "Except for that lame scarf," she pointed to the scarf that is twice as long as he was. "It just as dumb as that Ninja guy we saw at that one place. You know, where dad's friend lives." A few months ago Manny brought his kids with him on a business trip to Norrisville. While they were there, they met up with Manny's old friend Randy Cunningham (who seemed to barely remember Manny) and also caught a glimpse of the city's protector the Ninja.

"Hey it's not that bad," Carlos trying really hard to defend his suit. Although to be honest he did see a problem with it since it is a major trip hazard.

"That will never do but I think I can fix it," Maria said grabbing the scarf off of his neck. Taking it to her mini sewing machine, she began making alterations. Turning it from a long scarf to a decent size cape. "Here try this on," she said handing him his new cape.

"It looks good," Carlos had to admit that his sister did a pretty good job except for one part. "But is it suppose to be cut in the middle like this?" he asked. Spreading out his new cape, it was clear that she forgot to sew the center part together.

"Why yes," Maria blushing in embarrassment. She was in such a rush to finish it that she missed the center section together. "I made it that way to look like a pair of wings!" Trying to cover for her mistake.

"It looks more like that fish's tail," Carlos chuckled.

"Fish? What fish?" Maria wondered as there is no pictures of or toy fishes in her room. Carlos points to a few cans of tuna she had in her desk she had for a late snack. "Bro, that's not a fish, that's a dolphin..." she corrected him only to realize that she could use this to cover her blunder. "And yes it is a dolphin tail. After all people nicknamed you the Dolphin so it only makes sense that it be a part of your costume."

"Cool," Carlos completely buying his sister's excuse. Admiring his new look. He wasn't sold on the cape at first but now with that dolphin explanation he thinks it puts his whole costume together.

"Say Carlos, can I ask a favor?" Maria asked.

"Anything sis," Carlos responded still admiring himself in the mirror.

"Can you help me deal with the Griffon gang?" she begged.

This caused Carlos to jerk. "The Griffon gang? But sis I'm not a hero!" Carlos trying to get out of this, mainly due to the fact that he already promised Pablo to help with his villainy.

"Carlos I reeeeeaaaaally need your help," Maria doing her trademark sad puppy dog face. "Usually I can deal with Griffon and his goons no problem but this new guy is on a completely different level! I don't know if I can take him on by myself, let alone of he teams up with Griffon."

Carlos stared at the bruises on her face, constantly reminding him that he caused all of her injuries. Feeling guilty over his actions, even though he didn't know it was her at the time, he knows that there is only one way to redeem himself. On his honor, not only as an Avera but also as the eldest brother, he must watch over and protect her at all cost. No matter which side or whatever costume he's in. "Alright," he conceded.

"Great! Now all you need is a cool name." Maria declared.

"Well I do have this one...ahem the Macho Manticore!" Carlos getting into a heroic pose. Only to feel a cold chill run up his spine from the dark aura emanating from his sister.

"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" she hissed. Hearing macho in the name reminded her of that hideous Macho Moose costume that DJ wanted her to wear. "You will never say the word macho in my presences ever again! Do you understand?" doing her best spoiled princess imitation.

"Yes your majesty," Carlos mockingly bowed. He knows that when she gets all princessly like this it's just best to do as she says.

"Yes I am queen," Maria sounding even more posh than when she played Marie-Antoinette. "And you my brave caballero are my champion. That's it!" she snapped. "Your new name will be Champion Chimera!" she declared.

"Actually I think that other guy has already taken the name Chimera," Carlos tried to tell her. Unfortunately Maria is so lost in her own thoughts that she completely ignored him. Giving Carlos a sad sense of deja-vu.

"Now if only we knew where Griffon was going to strike next?" Maria wondered.

"Tonight at the pier! When the new game shipment comes in!" Carlos accidentally blurted out.

"How do you know that?" Maria asked.

"I over heard his henchmen talking when they escaped earlier today," Carlos lied. Cursing how he let that slip.

"So tonight eh," Maria smiled as she puts on her helmet. "Plenty of time to make plans."

'Plans indeed,' Carlos thought to himself. Trying to come up with a way to not only fulfill his obligations to his two siblings, but also do it in a way not to reveal all their secrets to each other.

Later in his room, Carlos was messing with his belt buckle trying to figure out how and why he has two separate costumes. Near as he can tell, if he spins it clockwise he turns into Crazy Chimera and counter-clockwise for Champion. With that out of the way, all that's left now is what to do next. "Geez Glove what am I going to do?" Carlos groaning about his sibling situation.

Glove sat there especially quiet. Trying to think of a plan. That's when it snapped excitedly and began writing something on a piece of paper before handing it to Carlos. "You want me to do what?" Carlos couldn't believe what he just read. "Do you think that this will work?" he asked. Glove could only shrug. "Well I don't have any other ideas so we'll go with this one," Carlos agreed as he hit record on his smart phone.

Over at the pier, Glitch Griffon has just finished tying all of the dock workers while the rest of his gang were in the process of opening up the crates, looking for their prize. "Where is he? He promised that he'd be here." Griffon snapped checking the time.

"Are you sure about this new hombre? We don't even know his name. Can we trust him?" Frida asked him.

"Of course, he's me bro..."Griffon catching himself again. "He saved me I mean us from Sphinx earlier today." Despite agreeing to join his gang, Carlos insisted that Pablo keep his identity a secret from the others. Which Pablo reluctantly agreed to.

"That may be, but what's his angle? What does he want?" Frida wondered.

"What do I want? Why, my fair share of the booty of course." Crazy Chimera said stepping out of the shadows. Which there are a lot of in the pier at night. Creeping out everyone present.

"Ah there you are Crazee. What took you so long?" Griffon demanded. "I may have to cut your pay for tardiness," he teased.

"If you do that then I won't share my secret," Crazee teased back.

"What secret?" Griffon asked.

"I just saw Pink Sphinx on her way here," Crazee informed him.

"No!" Griffon screamed. "How did she find out about out plan?" He didn't have time to think about it as Pink Sphinx heroically landed nearby. "Me and Crazee will deal with her. The rest of you grab what you can and head back to our hideout!" he ordered. Frida and the rest grabbed handful of the new game boxes and jumped on their bikes and quickly rode away. With his friends safely away, he turned his attention to his enemy.

"You'll never get away with this Glitch Griffon! Crime never pays!" the bird girl quoted. Blasting the robotic suit with her arm laser. Again causing his suit to glitch.

"Oh my dear Pink Sphinx. Don't you get tired of spouting those outdated cliches?" Glitch Griffon mocked as he fired several mini missiles at her.

"They are not outdated they are classics!" Pink Sphinx dodging the missiles. "And classics , just like justice, are eternal!" Suddenly out of nowhere, someone or something struck her from the side, sending her crashing into several shipping containers!

"Oh please stop with your constant pontificating," Crazee said. 'Sorry sis, I promise I'll make it up to you. This I swear!" he silently swore.

"Ah you remember my faithful minion Crazy Chimera," Glitch Griffon introduced.

"Crazee for short," Crazee chuckled. After all he needed to put up a good act.

"Indeed. He gave me quite a thrashing when we first met!" Sphinx coughed.

"Yes, and I'm quite surprised that you still came here to face us after that humiliating defeat." Griffon gloated.

"And they call me crazy! I mean I am, but you must be insane." Crazee laughed.

"What is the definition of insanity?" Sphinx asked. "It's doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result," she quoted. "And that's not me. You think I didn't learn anything from our last encounter? You think I wouldn't have something prepared? Hah! You will rue this day as I bring forth my CHAMPION!" Raising her staff into the air as if expecting something to happen. "Uh champion? Champs, that's your cue! Where are you?" Sphinx tapping her communicator.

Cazee quickly covered the secret communicator hidden in glove to keep anyone from noticing it vibrating. "Is something suppose to happen?" Crazee pretending not to know what's going on.

"I don't know what you are planning but I won't let you get the chance!" Griffon and Crazee both pouncing at Pink Sphinx!

"Champs you idiot," Sphinx whispered angrily as she crouched down into a defensive stance preparing for the hit.

Carlos knew he had to time this perfectly. Making sure that both Griffon and Sphinx weren't paying attention to him, he spun his buckle in the counter-clockwise direction. The resulting blue flame temporarily blinded both Sphinx and Griffon, giving Champion the opening he needed to swiftly kick Griffon back and land neatly next to Sphinx. 'Sorry bro, I'll make it up to you. This I swear." Carlos silently apologizing to Pablo this time.

"Forgive my tardiness my lady, but I had a hard time finding this place. The water is very dirty down there." Champs said pretending he swam all the way here. The plan that Sphinx came up with was for her to attack from the air while Champs ambushed them from the water.

"We'll talk about your lack of punctuality later," Sphinx promised. "But I'm just glad you are here." she added gratefully.

"Who are you?" Griffon demanded after getting his bearings back.

"Oh sorry how rude of me," Champs getting into a heroic pose. "I am Pink Sphinx's new sidekick, the Champion Chimera! You can just call me Champs if you want."

"CHIMERA! You can't call yourself chimera! I'm chimera! I've already call dibs." They heard Crazee's voice echoing in the shadows. Champs look around and spotted Glove hiding behind some crates giving him the OK signal. As well as holding up his smart phone. Since Glove can't talk, he had Carlos prerecord several lines of dialogue, both as Crazee and Champion that Glove can play back at anytime to make it seem like they are two different people.

"Oh no he's doing that stealth thing of his again. I hate it when he does that." Sphinx warned as she quickly scanned around trying to determine where he might strike from.

"Yeah he's kind of creepy that way," Griffon agreed.

"Don't worry my lady, my heighten senses I should be able to track him." Champs perked his ears up as if listening for any sound. "There!" Pointing to where Glove was hiding and quickly diving into the shadows as well. After making a lot of noise, Carlos jumped out of the shadows in his Crazee form pretending that he somehow got pushed out. "How did you find me?" Crazee demanded.

Still in the shadows, Glove scrolled though the phone and selected another line of dialogue done in Champs's voice. "I posses the powers of several different animals. So spotting you is like hunting a rabbit. It's a piece of cake. That is the power of the Chimera."

"Well then let me show you my Chimera powers, and we'll see which one of us is the true Chimera!" Crazee jumps back into the shadows and again beating on the crates pretending to fight.

While Carlos/Champs/Crazee were pretend fighting, Griffon and Sphinx resumed their real fight. Carlos carefully watched the battle. Not wanting either sibling to get hurt too badly, planning to jump in and protect which ever one is losing. He didn't have to wait long as a Pink Sphinx, now knowing about Glitch Griffon's weakness, was getting the upper hand. Showering Griffon with her laser blasts, Sphinx quickly found the golden computer core again. Since his robot suit is a holographic projection, it doesn't have a set place where the phone needs to go and can be placed anywhere in the main body. This time around Pablo placed his the phone under his seat.

"Looks like I get to kick you butt both figuratively and literally!" Sphinx laughed. Before she could make her move, Carlos made sure he was in his Crazee suit, and once again jumped his sister, knocking her into one of the open crates!

"Thanks br...I mean Crazee." Griffon thanked.

"Don't thank me until we've gotten away," Crazee advised. "That other chimera guy is tough. I don't know If we can beat them. It's best we cut our losses."

"Bu-but we could have made a million gazzillon on this score," Griffon cried. (Yeah he's too young to know that not a real number)

"We'll get nothing if they beat us," Crazee reminded him. "Besides I know you're low on power." Checking his gauges, Pablo could see that he's right. At this rate his suit will power down in two minutes or less. "You go I'll hold them off," Crazee assured his little brother.

"Be careful," Griffon said before grabbing another handful of games then transforming into a holographic truck and driving off.

After waiting until his little brother was out of sight, Crazee directed his snake tail to bite him in the arm. Injecting a small nonlethal amount on venom. Afterwards he changed into Champion and met up with his sister.

"What happened? Where are they?" Sphinx demanded and Champs helped her out of the crate.

"I'm afraid they got away," Champs groaned grabbing his arm.

"Is something wrong with your arm" Sphinx asked.

"I'm afraid that Crazee guy got me in the arm with that poison snake of his." Champs revealing the snake bite mark.

"Oh no," Sphinx cried. "Good thing I packed this." Reaching into her emergency medical kit she pulls out an epipen filled with antitoxin. Since poisonous snakes are a common pest in Miracle City every first aid kit comes quipped with antitoxin shots.

"Sorry I let them get away," Champs apologized.

"Don't be, thanks to you we kept them from stealing the entire shipment. That a win in my book. All in all not bad for your first time out." Sphinx assured him.

"Thanks sis," Champs smiled.

"But we're definitely going to have to work on your super powers of you are going to be my partner," Sphinx reminded him. "Starting tomorrow!"

"Aw but sis. I'm hurt can't I have a few days rest?" Champs begged. Unfortunately Sphinx was so excited that she's completely ignoring him again.

After having his wounds tended to by his sister, Carlos headed over to his brother's bedroom. "Pablo are you in there?" Carlos knocked on the door.

"Carlos, come in come in!" Pablo ordered excitedly. "Today was a great day!" he laughed.

"But we barely got out with our lives and only stole a fraction of the shipment? How can you say that this is a good day?" Carlos asked.

"Because we manage to humiliate that fool Pink Sphinx and her new lackey. Plus, thanks to all the noise we made at the pier, our buyer thought that all the games were destroyed. He practically paid us triple for the small amount we got. We ended making even more money that we originally bargain for." Pablo was so pleased he couldn't stop his showing creepy grin.

"That's great bro," Carlos feeling very uncomfortable seeing his brother smile like that.

"Here," Pablo tossing Carlos a pack of hundred.

"What's this?" Carlos wondered Since Pablo is suppose to put his share of the money directly in his bank account.

"That's an extra bonus for helping me fight off Sphinx and that new guy who's name I forgot." Pablo explained.

"Champion Chimera," Carlos reminded him. "You know like my name sort of." However Pablo was completely ignoring him as he's too busy counting the bit coins going into his private accounts online. "Say Pablo, I got pretty banged up back there. Is there a chance that I can have some time off?" Carlos asked.

"What?" Pablo barely hearing him. Forcing Carlos to repeat his request. "Oh sure sure. Take the next couple of days off. After all I don't want the rest of my gang slacking off thinking that you'll be doing all the heavy lifting."

"Thanks," Carlos sighed as he exited the room. Once out in the hall he met up with Glove who was hiding behind some vases. "Geez Glove, my little sister is a superhero and my baby brother is a super villain, and I'm the only one in the world who knows it! Plus I'm a minion/sidekick to both! I know I promised Nana that I'd look out for them, but how am I going to survive this?" Carlos whimpered as he limped back to his room.

Glove could only compassionately and comfortingly pat the poor boy on the back. Reassuring him that no matter what it will always be by his side.

Meanwhile back at the Recycling Center. Che have just finished his new item of power. Only this time, to make sure that no one can steal it, instead of making it portable, he made it into an old timey walking phone booth style transformation chamber. "Now let's see if this works," Che said to himself as he entered the phone booth. Pressing his secret code number (Which is just his name spelled out on the number pad) the chamber began powering up. Che could feel the incredible powers of the cat and bird along with all the other trash themes he used entering in him. "The power! I can feel the power coursing through every pore!" Che laughed as his zombie body began transforming into an amalgamation of different forms!

Then without warning the chamber exploded leaving only Che's head on the ground. "Okay so it needs a little more work," Che coughed as the rest of his body parts along with the chamber parts began raining down around him.

A/N: This concludes the origin stories for our new characters. I hope you've enjoyed reading about them. I must apologize for the long delay but I had a huge writers block and couldn't get myself to start writing again. Hopefully I'm past that and can get back into it.

Now that we're done with the kids portion (for now), next chapter we will see how Manny and Zoe will react to their kids gaining super powers. As well as the Rivera men and the Aves women who are still searching for their families. Until next time.
