Several weeks later in a Side 1 colony…

Thoughts circle around Amuro's head as he walked through the hallway with his father and a few guards. He had a nagging feeling even before they've even step foot on Luna II that their meeting has something to do with the mysterious event that occurred days ago

"Don't worry Amuro, you aren't in trouble. Mr. Revil is a good friend of mine" said Tem Ray

By now the news about Side 3 has reached the Federation public. Zeon's military was devastated beyond imagination and almost no one knows how. It can't be a coincidence in Amuro's mind that he and his father were summoned by a high-ranking member of the government. His thoughts interrupted by the end of their walk as they entered the general's office.

"Hello Amuro, my name is Jonathan Revil," said the general as he gives a gesture of hospitality "Please come take a seat" Amuro and his father sit down with Revil. The Federation General directs a smile to the father and son and was going to say something when he was interrupted

"Excuse me sir, but did we do something wrong?"

"Amuro…"

"It's okay Tem, with all that has happened this year it is understandable your son is worried" Revil said with a genuine smile which work to assuage Amuro's fears

As Amuro relaxed, Revil began speaking "Zeon was planning to go to war with us" Revil said which confirms the thoughts of Tem and Amuro "However, a single Mobile Suit manage to annihilate the majority of their forces" this shocked the Ray family

"Incredible, I can't believe the Federation manage to build something that powerful"

"Oh the Federation didn't create it" Revil said much to their surprised while he walked up to the curtained window "Or more specifically we haven't made it, Yet…"

"Yet Revil?" said Tem "Your speaking as if the Federation wouldn't been able to built the Mobile Suit in a few years"

With a press of a button, the window became clear allowing father and son to see through. What theu saw shocked them to the core. A damage Mobile Suit is being examined and repaired by Federation engineers. Then Amuro and his father see the dead pilot and Amuro's world began to spiral.

"No!" said Amuro, shaking uncontrollably in his seat

"As you see, the deceased body looks like an older self of yourself Amuro," Revil put his hand on Amuro's should "DNA test proves that he is you"

While Amuro and Tem Ray try to process the shocking revelation. Revil tried to answer all of their questions as best as he could. Revil's mind began going back to the time he went to A Baou Qu.

Flashback

What once was a bastion of military might is now a graveyard though Revil, Tianem and all the other members of the Federation as they saw for themselves the carnage that erupted out of A Baou Qu.

Tiamen could not hide his sense of shock. Wreckage of countless ships and mobile suits littered space while A Baou Qu itself is blasted with scars and irradiated areas from the detonated nukes. Of the thousands of warships that formed the Zeon Navy, less than a hundred remain.

"What the hell happened here!?" Tianem exclaimed unable to process what he is seeing with his own eyes "It's like the entire Zeon military has been sent to the meat-grinder!"

A man's scream directed everyone's eyes to a mangled lifeless body, seen through one of the cameras which bumped into the ship before sliding out of view.

"This is not a warzone but rather a slaughterhouse" Tianem thought as he saw the horrific sights "So many Hundreds of Millions…" he tried blocking out those horrid thoughts by focusing at Revil's spacecraft entering A Baou Qu

As Revil exited the spacecraft and step forth into Solomon he noticed the sense of dread amongst the Zeon soldiers. Very few of them could make eye contact with the Federation personnel and of those that did have an overwhelming sense of fear or emptiness, hands and faces shaking uncontrollably. They have a hurried sense in clearing out space for the Federation delegation, like they were peasants scuttling from a king.

The Federation entourage made their way to the command room unescorted. There they met the Zabi family and saw a dead body in a space pilot uniform. The dead body is that of a young man, scared and discolored due to the nuclear explosions.

"There you are oh Great Revil!" exclaimed Degwin as he approaches Revil, discomforting him and causing him to step back. "Forgive me my lord

"Is that…" Revil wanted but was afraid to ask

"Yes, the pilot of the mysterious Mobile Suit which carved through us like we were pumpkins" said Dozle "This young man managed to pilot your horrific weapon with such skill he killed half-a-million of Zeon's soldiers forcing us to use the nukes"

Revil didn't try to contradict him. Better for the Zabis to think the Federation was responsible for defeating them. He and the rest of the delegation began to discuss Zeon's surrender

Flashback ends

"Somehow your other self managed to travel back in time" said Revil "Your other self's piloting skills were said to be superb by Zeon, their best pilots end up being cannon fodder"

"What does this mean for my son?" asked Tem Ray

"With your permission, I would like Amuro to enroll as a Mobile Suit pilot" Tem recoiled in surprise and worry "Do not worry, he won't be participating in any wars. It is merely to train him just in cause something like Zeon shows up" Revil continues his discussion on the finer details of Amuro's pilot training

Jaburo Research Facility, a few days later…

Heading to the RD office, Revil thought over the event as he met the head of development, Dr. Whitley. The One Day War resulted in the near total destruction of Zeon's military. Coupled with the execution of Degwin as well as countless Zeon officials for their plans to commit war crimes, there is no need to worry that Side 3 will ever be a problem to the Federation. Still there is anti-Federation sentiment in those space colonies as they are facing heavy taxation, loss of jobs, anti-Side 3 crimes and outright exploitation by the pro-Federation corporations. Their hate for the Federation might still overcome their fear. But that is a problem for another day.

"Such is the price of betrayal and inhumanity" Revil thought as he saw Whitley "Now to prepare for the next conflict whatever it maybe"

After shaking hands with the lead researcher, Revil takes a look around the new Mobile Suit facility.

"Even though we have acquired most of Zeon's military equipment we have begun production of the Balls just in case the nutjob minority from Side 3 gets any ideas. We have also built our first batch of Jegans armed with nukes ready to deploy" Revil nodded in agreement

Out of the corner of his eye, Revil notices several blueprints on Whitley's table concerning the Federation's experiments. Three of them pique his interest:

CODENAME: Nu-Zeta Gundam

"We have gone over the data on the mobile suit and decided to go 'balls to the wall' as they say," said the lead scientist "This new Mobile Suit will have improved speed and reflexes over the original Gundam"

Revil took a closer look at the schematics and was surprised at how advanced the prototype would be. "Well you big wigs want to know how far we can go when it comes to MS development. This first prototype is going to excel against the Nu-Gundam in every single way once its finished" Whitley said, predicting Revil's thoughts

Revil knew that Mobile Suits were the future of warfare and silently cursed the Federation for letting Zeon get ahead in the race. A Gundam would also help him in case the stubborn elements of the Federation refuse to see reason.

CODENAME: Jesta

"We have so many people in the RD department that we are planning to replace the Jegan in just six months. Those Zeon bastards were going to use mobile suits to commit nuclear holocaust" said Whitely with Revil in agreement

"Isn't this all beyond the current Federation's budget?" Revil asked

"You would be surprised just how much the budget has increased since the public knows about A Baou Qu and Zeon's intentions for extermination. The Jegans won't be able to fulfill their role forever and the Gundam Prototypes are too few to be able to cover Federation territory thoroughly"

Revil agreed with his thought process. Had Future Amuro not destroyed Zeon they would have wrecked havoc on the ill-prepared Federation military. The thought of the horrific war with them sends shudders in him. Turning his attention elsewhere, Revil looked at the final and most ambitious schematic.

CODENAME: Mobile Dolls

"The acquisition of Side 3's scientists and resources as well as greater investment from the Federation allows us to begin research on Artificial Intelligence and Unmanned Mobile Suits" said Whitley

"I thought research on AI was considered taboo?"

"Now that the Federation has its head out of its ass," which got a chuckle from Revil "R can finally pursue every avenue of research. Besides, we are just completing the works of other scientists' breakthroughs and piecing the puzzle together. The ability to make military-grade AIs were possible for several decades now"

Revil knew that both Whitley and Tem were both honorable men whom would side with him over the corrupt officials within the Federation. He needed the Gundams and AIs as his aces in the hole should he fail in peacefully reforming the Federation. Finishing his conversation with Dr. Whitley the general goes back to his office to begin drafting plans to ensure that the post-war peace last as long as possible

Jaburo Command Center

A few days later, Revil is in a meeting with the other big wigs of the Earth Federation. He is operating a Powerpoint through the buttons on the conference table close to his seat.

"Though Zeon is done for we should prepare for the possibility that other groups will use Mobile Suits and Nuclear Weapons to threaten the Federation in the future. The new arsenal we are developing will be most useful… but it will not be enough. We need to train the best and wisest among us to use such tools to save as many lives as possible"

Revil press a button to switch the image, showing a symbol. "This new organization would be designated as the Guardians, an elite counterterrorist force capable of detecting, intercepting and eliminating threats much more effectively than any other group within the Federation. They operate outside most of the normal chain-of-command. To oversee them another organization will be founded to review their military actions and have the firepower to stop them if needed so"

The various Federation officials discuss with one another on the various aspects of the Guardian. Tianem and Kowen both give small nods of support to Revil. He was glad that there were still decent men within the Federation. He doubt he could change the Federation on his on. Revil proceeded to discuss the finer details of the two organizations with his peers.

Returning to his quarters, Revil noticed the door was open. "You must have an interesting conversation with the Ray family about the other Amuro" the stranger said much to Revil's inner surprise, keeping a neutral face.

"Who are you?"

The man turn his seat around to look at Revil "I'm the man giving you a deal of a millennia pal"
