The car and the black vans moved down the road while Margaret held the steering wheel tightly in her hands and Connor leaned the side of his head against the window. Murphy sat in the back as he strummed his fingers on the top of the black helmet and he sighed. Suddenly, Margaret pulled the car over to the side of the road as she parked the car and the black vans pulled up behind the car.

"Maggie?" Connor asked as they got out of the car.

"Move!" she said as she pointed toward the large rock and they ran to the rock. She sat on the ground when she placed her fingers in her ears and she closed her eyes. Connor, Murphy, Fitzroy and the others copied her when a loud explosion filled the air and the night sky was filled with a bright light. The ground shook while the twins got to their feet, walked around the rock and they barely opened their eyes. The fireball rose to the sky as they closed their eyes and they removed their fingers from their ears.

"Winds of change move over both of ye. Shepherds, ye will no longer be. Peace will reign until the final call. Both of ye will stand while evil does fall. Fire burning bright as the sun will be the sign thy work is done," the twins said. Margaret and the others walked to them as she removed her fingers from her eyes and she placed her right hand on Connor's left shoulder.

"What did you say?" Margaret asked.

"Winds of change move over both of ye. Shepherds, ye will no longer be. Peace will reign until the final call. Both of ye will stand while evil does fall. Fire burning bright as the sun will be the sign thy work is done," Connor repeated and she frowned. "It's from that dream we had on our honeymoon night"

Margaret slid her arms around Connor as he held her and she leaned her head against his head. She blinked the tears from her eyes as Connor sighed and she sent a silent prayer for Jonathan to finally be at peace.

"Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!" Rocco called out while the car pulled up to the house and the doors opened. After getting out of the car, Murphy walked to the lamb paddock as he leaned over the top railing and Rocco looked up at him.

"Hullo t'you, too," Murphy said as he leaned over the top railing and the lamb got onto its hind legs so he could pat the top of the lamb's head. Murphy turned when he saw Louisa walking down the stairs then she ran to him. With a small grunt, he wrapped his arms around her after Louisa nearly knocked him over and he leaned in for a kiss.

The twins, Annie, Robbie, Soibhan, Caesar, Rosita and Moira ran down the stairs while Jessie and Annabelle walked outside and Romeo followed them. He closed the door while he heard the sound of a car heading down the drive and he saw the black car pulling up behind the car.

"Who the hell is that?" Annabelle asked as the door opened and Chief Superintendent Elinor Walker and Katherine Wellington got out of the car.

"What are they doing here?" Connor asked after he saw Elinor and Katherine nd Margaret frowned. They watched Elinor and Katherine walking closer when Elinor and Katherine stopped near Connor and Louisa and Murphy walked closer.

"Hello," Elinor said with a small nod.

"Chief Superintendent Walker," Margaret said as she nodded back then she looked at Katherine. "Miss Wellington."

"I guess you are wondering why we're here," Katherine said.

"We were wonderin'," Connor said.

"I know I could have called, but I believe this sort of news needs to be done in person," Elinor said.

"What sort of news?" Louisa asked.

"As you recall, Ryan O'Dale was turned over to Child Services with hope we could find his parents," Katherine said.

"His parents are dead," Margaret said.

"Yes, and that meant Child Services needed to find another family member to take custody of him."

"Did they find anyone?" Jessie asked while Murphy looked at the car and he swore he saw someone peeking out at them. Murphy walked to the car when he thought he saw someone duck down and he knelt down onto his haunches. Connor wondered what his brother was doing as Murphy slow rose up until he was looking in the window and Ryan smiled at him.

"Shit," Murphy whispered as he fell onto his bottom and the door opened. Ryan got out of the car as he nearly jumped into Murphy's arms and Murphy wrapped his arms around him. Murphy carefully stood up as he held Ryan in his arms and Murphy walked to Louisa.

"Hi!" Ryan said as he waved to them and Murphy smiled.

"Who's he?" David asked.

"I'm Ryan."

"Is he th'little boy Lou told me about?" Annabelle asked.

"When did you tell her about Ryan?" Murphy asked, looking at Louisa.

"It was when I was sorting my photos. She saw the one of you two sleeping and she asked me who Ryan was," Louisa explained while Murphy handed Ryan to her and Ryan gave her a worried look.

"Aren't you glad t'see me?" Ryan asked.

"Of course, we are," Margaret said as she looked at Katherine. "Why is he here?"

"As I was saying…," Katherine said as she smiled at Ryan. "Children Services did find his grandparents, but his paternal grandparents are deceased and his maternal grandparents did not want anything to do with him."

"Why not?" Annabelle asked.

"It turns out they did not approve of the marriage and denied even knowing his mother."

"Those bastards."

"Ma," Connor said, nodding his head toward Ryan.

"Come on, Da. We're heard worse," Annie said with a small eyeroll and the kids giggled.

"If I may continue," Katherine said and Margaret nodded. "Once Children Services determined there was no one to claim Ryan, they decided to place him in the one home where he could get all the love and support that he would ever need."

"You mean us?" Murphy asked.

"Yes," she said with a nod. "Unless I was mistaken."

"No. No mistake here."

"But how were you able to bring him here?" Louisa asked.

"Aye, you shouldn't've been able t'take him outta th'country."

"Let's just say Miss Stone isn't the only one with friends in high places," Elinor said with a sly grin and they nodded.

"Shall we go inside so we can fill out the paperwork?" Katherine asked.

"This way," Margaret asked and they went inside the house.

The sunlight shimmered off the water as former FBI agent Eunice Bloom stood on the porch and she watched a seagull sailing lazily in the sky. She heard the door open as a German Shepherd walked to her then sat next to her right leg and she turned to look at the right hand reaching out of the doorway.

"Hang on," she said as she walked to the doorway and helped her fiancé walk outside.

They had met when she had been assigned to MI6 to help with a terrorist case and she admitted she was surprised when he asked her out of a coffee.

At first, she wasn't impressed with his charm, but he was impressed with her attitude and soon they were dating.

When she returned to the US, they had kept in contact through emails and phone calls and he spent whatever downtime he had with her.

Then her world fell apart when he was reported dead.

She became engrossed with her work and having no one else in her life made it easy for her to just vanish after her encounters with Connor and Murphy.

Then, two months ago, she had come home from working at the local police department to find him standing on her porch with the German Shepherd sitting next to him.

He spent the next few weeks explaining what had happened to him and how he had found her and the sad look in his nearly sightless eyes was all she needed to take him back.

"Why are you being so quiet?" brought her back to reality and she smiled.

"I was just thinking about this," she said as she gently brushed the scars around his eyes and a small smile appeared.

"Ah," Jonathan said and he leaned his head down. She moved his head closer as they kissed and she slid her arms around his waist. They moved back as she stroked his face and he made a soft laugh. "Have I told you how grateful I am?"

"Not since last night."

"I was worried they would find you."

"Not with me wearing stealth body armor and helmet. It made sure I didn't show up on night vision or infrared."

"I am glad we got far enough away before I activated the kill switch."

"You should have seen..."

He heard her deep sigh as he leaned in for another kiss then she placed her forehead against his.

"Well, I will admit I am glad to get the prosthetic makeup off. It was really starting to itch," he teased and she softly giggled.

"It worked, didn't it?"

"Yes, it did."

"I still think we were taking a big risk."

"Someone had to get rid of the Butcher."

"Yes, but did you have to get rid of Stone and Lane?"

"You know they were the last ones on my list."

She knew about his hit list and she softly sighed while shaking her head.

"You're being quiet again," he teased while reaching up for her hands and she took his hands in hers.

"Sorry."

"You're forgiven" he said. He frowned from the beeping sound as he frowned and he let go of her hands. "Damn. I think the battery is going in the hearing aid in my left ear."

She helped him remove the hearing aid as she went inside to change the battery then she walked back outside and he turned to face her. She helped him put the hearing aid back in his ear as she placed the palm of her left hand against his chest and he smiled.

"I will admit to one thing. Those Saints of yours are amazing," he said after a few seconds.

"They aren't mine," she said.

"Well, they are still amazing. Imagine what they would have been like if you had been able to deliver them to your employer."

"Knowing those two, they would have either driven them crazy or gone off on their own."

"I agree. Have you heard from the others?"

"Yes, though the Reapers still haven't called in."

"I do not believe they will. Seeing how they were working for Stone."

"Is that why you had them killed?"

"No, that was the Butcher's idea," he said and she noticed the small grin on his face.

"What's so funny?"

"One of the Saints thought I was a virgin."

"Was it Murphy?"

"Yes,' he said and she laughed.

"Want to go for a walk?"

"Of course," he said while she went to place the lead on the dog's collar then she placed the lead into his left hand. They walked down the stairs before they headed down the walk and Jonathan placed his right arm around her shoulders. He thought about his encounter with Connor and Murphy as he smiled and he lightly shook his head.

The door opened while Louisa walked outside and the door closed behind her. She walked to the porch railing as she looked at the sunset then she saw Murphy standing next to the ram paddock. His forearms were leaning over the top railing and he had one ankle crossed over the other. She walked down the stairs as she headed for her husband and the wind moved through his hair.

"Hey," Louisa called out, but Murphy didn't turn his head to look at her. She went to stand next to him as she placed her right hand on his left shoulder and she lightly squeezed his shoulder. "You ok?"

"Aye, I'm fine," he said with a nod, but he still wouldn't look at her. She knew when he was in a mood as she slid her right arm around his left arm and she leaned her head against his shoulder. They stood in silence when he sighed and he brushed some hair out of his eyes. "I think I'm over my mid-life crisis."

"You sure?"

"I'm sure. Though I don't think what happened with Maggie's uncle an' those two eejits were th'problem. Or why I didn't feel like I wasn't me anymore."

"Are you talking about Ryan?"

"Aye. It's not like I was lookin' fer us t'have another kid…"

"But the thought of you not doing something to help him was driving you nuts?"

"That an' he needed someone. Someone t'stand up for him. Someone t'take care of him. Someone…"

"He needed a Saint," she interrupted and he nodded. She kissed his cheek as a small blush appeared and he lowered his head. She rubbed his left arm as she smiled and he glanced at her. "Can I be honest with you?"

"Aye."

"You may not be a Saint anymore, but you will always be a good person. Connor, too."

"We killed people, Lou."

"And I am not defending that. What I want you to understand is you did what you set out to do. You helped people who needed it. And I am not talking about people who got robbed or whatever. I am talking about people like Ryan. Like Margaret. Like Romeo. Like Rocco. Like me!"

"I know that."

"Then stop moping."

"Can't. It's a part of who I am," he said as he turned to her and he pulled her into an embrace. She gently rubbed his back when the front door opened and Little Murphy walked onto the porch.

"Da, we need yer help! Th'upstairs' toilet flooded again!" he called out.

"How th'hell did that happen?!"

"Rosie and Ryan were playin' "Let's See If It Goes Down th'Loo."!"

"Oh, the joys of parenthood," Louisa teased and Murphy laughed, nodding his head. He knelt down so she could climb onto his back as he straightened up, adjusted his hold on her legs and they headed for the house.

Later that night, Margaret was sitting against the pillows while she typed on the laptop keyboard and she could just hear the sound of Connor taking a shower. She tapped the enter button as she sat back and her mind replayed what happened after they had left the room. She had told Connor she would meet him outside as she went back in the room and she saw Jonathan standing near the bed.

"Who is there?'

"It's Margaret."

"Are you here to finish me off?"

"No."

"You are here for him then."

Margaret remembered looking at Morgan when she removed her gun from the holster and she pointed the gun at him.

"He is right. You are the reason your family keeps dying."

"No, he is the reason. Or didn't you know he was the cause of my parents' death?"

"How so?"

"They worked for him, but they wanted a different life for me. I remember hearing the argument they had about it before they died. My father refused to let him recruit me and he said he would die before he would get hold of me. The next day, they were dead."

"I see."

"Was that supposed to be a joke?"

"Sorry. It was a poor one."

She watched him use the bed to walk to her as she took his right hand and he gave her a small smile.

"Go ahead. Pull the trigger."

A voice in her head told her the same thing, but she couldn't.

"I can't."

"You care about him that much?"

"I have no feelings for him whatsoever."

"Are you afraid of what your husband and his brother are going to say or do if they find out?"

"Yes."

"You love him that much?"

"Yes,"

"Then give the gun to me."

"You can't see."

"Your husband helped me when I killed Jordan."

She placed the gun in his right hand as she helped him aim the gun and he fired the gun several times. The dull droning from the heart monitor filled the room as she took the gun back and he sighed.

"That felt rather refreshing."

"Come with me."

"And end up in prison? No."

She remembered walking out of the room then meeting Connor outside and he held her to his side as they walked away.

"What'cha doin'?" Connor asked while he got into bed and he leaned the side of his head against her left shoulder.

"I am filing my last report," Margaret said as she depowered the laptop then she placed the laptop on the night table.

"Last report?"

"As of today, I am officially retired."

"But…"

She moved so she could see his face and Connor had a miserable look in his eyes.

"But what?" Margaret asked.

"Now that yer uncle's dead, doesn't that make you th'head of th'agency?"

"Yes, I would be, but I recommended someone else."

"Who?"

"Captain Fitzroy."

"Ah. Um, does that mean we lose our protection?"

"No," she said with a shake of her head and he moved to settle down on his right side. Turning the light off, she slid onto her left side as she scooted closer and he slid his arm around her. She moved her hand over his shoulder as he smiled and she looked down at his chest. "I know I should be crying over the death of my uncle, but…"

He kissed her forehead as she looked at him and he shook his head.

"Th'tears will come when they're ready," he whispered and she nodded.

"So, what about Ryan?"

"What about him?"

"We're going to need another bedroom."

"Aye, we do. Murphy an' I'll figure summat out."

Yawning, she nodded when she snuggled closer and they closed their eyes. Soon, they drifted off to sleep and the palm of Margaret's hand rested against his chest.

In the other bedroom, Murphy rested on his back as he pictured the plans for the house and he moved his right index finger in the air.

"What are you doing?" Louisa whispered and he turned his head to look at her.

"I am tryin' t'figure out how we can make a bedroom for Ryan," he explained.

"What do you have in mind?"

"I was thinkin' of maybe puttin' a small bathroom in th'twins' room, one in Annie's room, on in the girls' room an' one in Caesar an' Robbie's room. Then we can make th'kids' bathroom smaller an' make two bedrooms. One fer him an' one fer Rosie."

"That does sound like a good idea, but how do we get the kids to clean the bathrooms? We care barely get them to clean their room."

"That's one of th'things I'm tryin' t'figure out."

"But I wanna t'go t'sleep," made Murphy look down at Ryan snuggled next to him and Murphy lightly ruffled Ryan's hair.

"Sorry," Murphy whispered and Louisa softly smiled.

"Yeah, sorry about that, Sweetie," Louisa said. Ryan nodded as he yawned then he looked up at Murphy.

"Will you tell me a story?" Ryan asked.

"What kind of story?" Murphy asked and Ryan poked his chest. "You want a story about me?"

"No. That," he said as he poked the spot where Norman's tattoo was on his chest. He had seen the tattoo when Murphy put on his pajamas top and Murphy thought for a few second before he realized what Ryan was talking about. He and Louisa told him about Norman and Louisa saw the sadness on Ryan's face when he found out Norman died.

"Ready to go to sleep now?" Louisa asked.

"I want another story," Ryan said and Murphy snorted a laugh while he looked at Louisa.

"Here we go," Murphy teased and Louisa leaned over to kiss the side of his head. Murphy looked at the ceiling when he thought of something and he arched his eyebrows up. "Do you wanna hear about when Mrs. Lou, Mister Connor, Mister Norman an' I got stuck on th'roof?"

"Wait, is this the story you were telling me all those years ago?" Louisa asked and he nodded.

"How did you get stuck on th'roof?" Ryan asked.

"Well…," Murphy started and Louisa placed the side of her head into the palm of her hand after she had rolled onto her side. "You see, th'roof of th'buildin' we lived in when we were kids always leaked when it rained. So, Housin' finally decided it was time t'fix it. We were told not t'go on th'roof an' bother th'workers, but things like that never stopped Mister Connor."

"Or Mister Murphy," Louisa teased and Murphy stuck his tongue out at her.

"Now, you'd think th'workers would shut th'door when they go off t'have lunch, right? Well, these eejits didn't. An' that was enough fer Mister Connor. He told us he had gone up there an' he thought it would be fun t'go an' write our names in th'fresh cement."

"Which I told him was a bad idea."

"I remember tellin' him th'same thing," Murphy agreed with a grin. "We headed up to the roof, but the little bock of wood Mister Connor used to keep th'door open slid out an' th'door closed."

"Uh oh," Ryan said.

"Aye. Uh oh. What made it worse was there was no door handle on th'other side of th'door."

"Which meant we were stuck," Louisa said.

"Were you scared?" Ryan asked.

"Nah, but Mister Connor an' Mister Norman were scared…," Murphy said and Louisa noticed he censored himself. "Anyway, while they were panickin', Mrs. Lou an' I used a stick t'write our names in th'cement."

"Then what happened?"

"Well, all that noise they were makin' got th'attention of th'lady who lived just below where we were and she came up t'see what was goin' on. Mister Connor an' Mister Norman hugged her an' she made us go downstairs. After we went into her flat, she said she was gonna call our parents."

"Were they mad when they found out?"

"My ma…."

'Is she the lady with the stick?"

"Right. She's th'lady with th'stick," he said as he softly laughed. "She wasn't mad at us."

"But my ma was," Louisa said.

"What did she do?" Ryan asked and Louisa saw the fear in Ryan's eyes. Murphy felt Ryan's body shaking as he held the little boy closer to him and he gently rocked him.

"She made us go home and we weren't allowed to see Mister Murphy or Mister Conner for a few days."

"Were the workers mad that you wrote your name in the cement?"

"Nope. In fact, they let Mister Connor an' Mister Norman write their names, too," Murphy explained.

"Are you ready to go to sleep now?" Louisa asked.

"No, you haven't said it yet," Ryan said as he looked at them.

"What do you want us t'say?" Murphy asked.

"You have t'say I love you."

"Do I say it t'you?"

"No. You say it t'Mrs. Lou."

Louisa knew Murphy had trouble saying that when someone was in the room as she looked at Murphy and Murphy smiled.

"I love you, Lou," Murphy said with a small grin on his face.

"I love you, too," Louisa said.

"Now you have t'kiss her," Ryan explained. Louisa moved closer while she leaned down to kiss Murphy's lips and Ryan smiled.

"Can we go t'sleep now?" Murphy asked after Louisa moved back and she turned the light off.

"Yeah," Ryan said with a yawn then he closed his eyes and he moved his head to rest on Murphy's chest. Murphy could barely see Louisa move to settle down next to him as she slid her arm over Ryan, closed her eyes and she made a content sigh. After doing a silent prayer of thanks, Murphy closed his eyes and he followed his wife and soon-to-be son into a peaceful sleep.

A/N: Sorry about the long chapter, but this story is finally done. I want to thank everyone who read, favored, and reviewed. I hope you read "Annabelle's Little Saints", which is some one shots I wrote, and will read my next Boondock Saint's story.
