Dishonored 2 Co-op (High Chaos Edition)
What if Corvo and Emily escape Dunwall tower together?

Chapter 9: Death to the Empress

Corvo woke up again and spoke to Anton who talked about Delilah's past and lastly telling Corvo to take care of himself.

He saw Emily and Meagan talking. Meagan advised Emily to kill Delilah and not hesitate while doing all the while warning her that Delilah's dangerous.

Corvo secretly pickpocketed Meagan while she was talking to her daughter then went inside the Captain's Quarters. He found out that Meagan is actually Billie Lurk and that she was part of the band of assassins that killed Jessamine.

With that knowledge in mind, Corvo went up deck and saw Billie still there talking to Emily. He rushed towards Billie then made a sliding motion onto her, making Billie fall of the Dreadful Wale and crash into the water then met death by drowning. Seeing his daughter's surprised and horrified look, he simply showed her the notebook and she forgave him immediately.

They went to the skiff and Emily declared, "If old Samuel can see us now." As she put on her scarf, Corvo his mask.

They arrived at Dunwall which had been a mess since they left. They bought a rune and a key to a City Watch outpost from a recently established black market. They also decided to go to the journalist they saved at the Dunwall Courier.

The journalist saw them and stood up, "Lord Protector! Your Majesty! You're alive! It's been almost two months hasn't it?"

The two explained to him that they've been to Karnaca eliminating those supporting Delilah and found a way to beat her and take back the Throne. The journalist gave them his support and they informed him that they'll invite him to Dunwall Tower to conduct an interview.

They went up the rooftops where they escaped through their safe room and found the loudspeaker. Corvo decided to send a message.

"People of Dunwall. I've lived among you for decades, beating down our enemies and facing down the threats aligned against us. Now a treacherous usurper has taken the throne from my daughter, Emily Kaldwin. But I've returned, and I will expend my last breath making Delilah suffer for her crimes against us. On this I, Corvo Attano, swear."

"We've got visitors Father." Emily reported, pointing to the two witches traversing the rooftops to their location. Corvo and Emily killed them as soon as the witches teleported to their position.

Corvo and Emily went to the courtyard and butchered every single witch that dared attack them and even their gravehounds and their blood briars cannot stop the father and daughter duo.

They paid their respects to Jessamine's grave before hunting down more witches and then entering the Tower itself.

Once they're inside, they killed every witch whether stealthy or aggressively. Emily's favorite part is removing the head of every clockwork soldier and watching the confused machines kill the hapless witches. Once Corvo restored the power inside the Tower, they decided to use the elevator to head up to the throne room.

You will take me back and die at my hands.

That's the first thing Corvo hears once they arrived at the rooftop. He and Emily killed the two witch sentries at the other balconies.

When they went to the Throne Room, Corvo wasted no time in putting Delilah's spirit back into its owner. It resulted in Corvo being knocked to the ground.

Emily helped her father up as she heard Delilah say, "At last my spirit returns! Enter my canvas and I will show you my vision!" Corvo felt the Heart disintegrating into dust.

They both entered the painting named The World As It Should Be.

They found Delilah sitting on a throne but when they got close to it, she teleported away.

"So gullible and naive..the both of you."

Corvo and Emily fought the clones and killed them with some measure of difficulty. Corvo used Windblast and Blink assaults while Emily summoned doppelg?ngers and linked them to the clones should the cones succeeded in killing them. They killed all the clones when the real Delilah appeared.

It is so bright one could barely see. Delilah is a powerful witch indeed and many times Corvo and Emily were forced to dodge Delilah's stone sealing spell technique. That very same spell separated them and Delilah took advantage by grabbing a surprised Emily by the throat and started choking her but Emily is both determined and skilled. She stabbed Delilah by the arm, forcing the witch to let go of her. The two fought but Emily made Delilah eat her words through focused strikes and timely parries.

Delilah finally had enough and used a blood briar to swat Emily back and used this opportunity to stab Emily by the shoulder. She used the same blood briar to ensnare Emily and was about to slice her niece's throat...

But Delilah received a powerful kick to the side of her gut thanks to Corvo and crashed to a wall. She regained her balance by teleporting and engaged the Royal Protector and Father in combat. She immediately recognized the eyes he has as bloodlust but what she didn't know is that they held a fatherly fury within them.

Delilah couldn't hold back the whirlwind of sword strikes made by Corvo. The wounds she suffered from her niece began piling up along with Corvo's. Eventually Corvo pulled a focused strike on Delilah and immediately punched her in the face.

"No!" Delilah cried as Corvo landed his sword down on her shoulder but she swatted it away tiredly. However Corvo grabbed her by the throat as she moaned out her last words. "It's not...fair..."

And then he finished her by stabbing her on the ribs.

"You never should've threatened my daughter Delilah!" Corvo growled while summoning a swarm of rats to consume Delilah's corpse to make sure she's really dead and not coming back.

Corvo watched passively as the rats devoured Delilah's corpse then finally left. He found his daughter lying down but he knew she is still alive thanks to the arcane bond they shared. He quickly ran to her and noted the stab wound on her shoulder as he lifted Emily up bridal style then exited The World As It Should Be.

Corvo laid Emily down in her bed and sat on a nearby chair to maintain vigilance and also bandaged the wound. He finally felt sleep catch up to him and then laid down on his daughter's side and wrapped an arm around her protectively.

(A day later)

Emily woke up and found her father currently laying a meal and an elixir which she recognized as Piero's Spiritual Remedy.

"Good morning Emily." Corvo greeted with a smile.

"Good morning Father." Emily replied before she remembered what happened last night and immediately asked, "Is Delilah dead?"

"Yes. Even have my rats consume her corpse to make sure she's not coming back."

Emily nodded and rubbed her bandaged shoulder absently. She let her father feed her while she is reflecting on leaving Serkonos.

With the Howlers and the Abbey leaderless and Luca Abele dead, there is only one man capable of to rule Karnaca: her father Corvo Attano. He has served the Empire and has sacrificed so much for the people there. He is born there and thus that's where he will stay. He is the only one who can and will be the Duke because she believes that he deserves it.

"Father...about Serkonos I believe that there is only one man who can be the Duke there.." Emily began.

"Oh? Who would that be?"

"I believe it is to be someone I can trust. You to be exact."

"Me? I don't know what to say. But why?"

"Because Father, I have seen your ruthlessness and cunning when you hunted down those responsible for the death of my mother, Jessamine Kaldwin. And in Karnaca where you and I fought together? You are still ruthless and cunning when you aided me in wiping out Delilah's supporters. Vice Overseer Byrne? Paolo? Even the body double? All of them are unworthy. Byrne is too focused in wiping out those from the Void and all witchcraft while Paolo is nothing more than an over ambitious gang leader. These traits made them predictable but also unsuited to act in the Empire's-and mine's-best interests." Emily explained before going further.

"You Father are a greater man than they would ever be. I know that you will do anything to protect me, both inside and outside and you are also capable of acting the Empire's and mine's best interests. You were born in Serkonos and that's where you will stay. You will become the Duke after we stabilized things in Dunwall and you will support me from the South." Emily tells her father while he beamed at her praise.

"I am truly honored Emily. But I can't run Serkonos alone."

"Worry not Father. During the time we spent in Karnaca, we saved Hypatia, Stilton, and I've even spoken to Lucia Pastor. I know that the beggars surrounding Karnaca make excellent spies for your network." She assured him before droning on about his new council.

"Hypatia can report to you about the latest bloodfly cure development and the health of the people while Stilton and Lucia Pastor will speak to you about the silver mines and its miners." Emily explained in detail with Corvo nodding.

"Alright Emily, for you and the Empire, I will be the new Duke."

Emily smiled at her father, "Duke Corvo Attano..That has a nice ring to it.."

With the fall of Luca Abele, the Duke's line ended, and there was only one man ruthless enough for the Grand Palace. Fighting his way up from nothing, none of his enemies were around to oppose the Bloody Duke, Corvo Attano.

In Dunwall, with the death of Delilah Copperspoon, her coven lost its power and was smashed, their disastrous coup brought to an end. The rightful Empress once again seized her throne, and so it was that Emily the Vengeful rooted out the last of those who had betrayed her and ruled over her empire with the support of her legendary father, Corvo Attano, from the South.

In his day, Anton Sokolov fired the engines of industry, starting a great, consuming blaze at the heart of the Empire. He saw his machines used for war and oppression, watching the powerful crush those beneath them. Leaving Dunwall for the last time, he turned to the cold north, his energy spent at last, only an echo of the man he'd aspired to be.
