Hi, I'm back. I know I haven't written in a long time, and I am sorry about that, but I've been busy. I will try and see if I can get back to my stories and update them all. Now onto reviews. Yes, Gretchen is headed now a dark path, and for now, she isn't interested in talking about her project. But you never know, maybe there's a secret genius hidden inside T.J. I know that one of you wants T.J to change, and I have an idea for another story; one in which T.J undergoes a change. But I also have more Ashley S story ideas, that I can try to write once these stories are finished. Now onto Vince.

Chapter 6: Vince – a new friendship?

Vince like Gretchen and Spinelli had been picked up by his mom. She drove him to the mall, where she agreed to give him some money for new clothes. It wasn't a lot, but maybe he didn't need so much money.

He would normally go to a store where they would have sports clothes and jerseys, but not today. Something inside of him went to a different store. He couldn't really find anything special, so he just looked around.

He looked around, and didn't really see where he was going, so he didn't see that he was about to bump into someone until he accidentally walked into them.

"Oof. I'm sorry." Vince said before he looked over to the person he had walked into, which turned out to be Meno. "Wait Menlo, you come here."

"Yes, I shop here. It's where I buy clothes. Now if you'll excuse me. I have to try out these shirts."

"Well let me at least help you. It's the least I can do."

"Okay, well if you insist. Speaking of which, I have never seen you in here before. Shouldn't you be in a sports shop or something."

"Nah, I figured I could use some new clothes that weren't from the sports shop. My mom has been bugging me about it for years. Says I need proper clothes."

"Well You haven't found anything yet."

"Yearh, I'm not sure on what I should buy."

"Well in that case. Let me help you find something."

"Okay, if you insist."

Menlo then found some clothes for Vince. Most of it was similar to what Menlo wore, while others were slightly different, but still nothing like what Vince usually wore. Eventually, he settled in some button up shirts, jeans, and t-shirts. It wasn't much, but still some.

"Hey Menlo, if you're not doing anything, then how would you feel about going to the food court. I still think I need some new shoes, but afterwards we can grab a piece of pizza." Vince asked, not sure on why he was suddenly chill with Menlo. It's not that he minded Menlo. It was just that, the two of them had never been close. Vince had always been the hyperactive jock, while Menlo was well Menlo.

"Why are you suddenly asking me to grab a piece of pizza with you. No offense Vince, but the two of us never have friends, or hung out."

"Well yes, but i realize that maybe we start anew."

"Well in that case, then I guess one slice of pizza wouldn't hurt. But if you're looking for shoes, then I know just the place. Just follow me."

Vince then followed Menlo into a regular shoe store, where he just one pair of sneakers. Not completely like what he would usually wear of shoes, but not too different.

Afterwards, they went to the food court, and grabbed a couple of sodas, and then sat down on a bench.

"Okay Menlo, I really do need to say thanks for helping me out today. I know we haven't been the best of friends in the past, but maybe we can start over."

"I suppose we can, but c'mon why would a jock like you want to hang out with someone like me. You'll probably join the football team or basketball team, or both even."

"Well I decided to try something new now. My parents have been on my back on getting my grades up, and maybe I need to focus on that before sports. Plus, I have been thinking of maybe joining the debate team or science club. I know that you'll join the debate team."

"Wait, Mr. popularity himself, Vince Lassalle isn't going to join a sports team, but instead one of the unpopular clubs. Besides, we take debate club seriously."

"Yes, I know that, and understand that. But I don't know, sports just doesn't interest me anymore. I think debate club could be interesting, and you know, I could use some help getting my grades up. I feel like something in me has changed. I don't what it is, but I have changed."

"In that case, you better not bail on debate team once you decide to go back to sports, but in the meantime, I could help you get your grades. I get straight A's. I will help you with your grades, and to prep you for debate team, but I want something in return."

"Is it money, because I can pay you."

"No, I have enough money, and will help out at the tutor center. What I want from you is friendship. I don't have a lot of friends, I always thought that you were cool. I could gain a new friend, maybe 6, and maybe your coolness will rub off on me."

"Well okay, it's a deal, we'll hang out, as long as you continue to tutor me, and help me with debate team. You want to come over now. You can eat along, and then you can help me prep for debate team."

"I think I'll accept that invitation. I'll call my parents at your place."

With that, the two of them left.

Eventually, they reached Vince's house, and Menlo introduced himself to Vince's parents. He called his parents to let them know where he was, and that he'd be home late.

Throughout Dinner, Vince's parents keep talking.

"So son, have you decided on which team you'll join" His dad asked.

"Yes. I decided on debate team. Menlo here is joining it as well. In fact, he did it in middle school, so he can help me out, and he has also agreed to tutor me."

"Well isn't that so. Well I am glad you finally decided to focus on your grades, and debate team is interesting. Your brother was in the science club." His mom said, before looking over at Menlo. "So Menlo, you're joining the debate team. Your grades must be good."

"Yes Ma'am. I was in it in middle school, and I get straight A's."

"Well then it's good that you can help Vince out. Maybe you can be a good influence on him." His mom replied.

Eventually dinner ended, and the two boys went up to Vince's room, were Menlo got a good look at the room. It was filled with balls and posters of sports folk.

They then got started to practice for joining the debate team, and Menlo gave him some feedback.

It was getting late, so Menlo thanked Vince for letting him stay for dinner.

After Menlo left, Vince looked around. Maybe it was time to prioritize differently, so he took down his posters, put the balls into a bag, and took out his old clothes. Or well rather his mom had told him that he didn't have room for both the new and old clothes. His mom had said that if he wasn't going to use the old clothes anymore, then maybe handing it off to charity would be a good idea. Vince would agree to do so once his current clothes were washed a dried. Without the posters hanging on the wall, the room did look empty. But now, he had space on his desk.

Next chapter: Mikey

Okay, so I know I said that this chapter would be Mikey, well I had a clearer view on Vince, so it was easier to come up with something for him. But next chapter will be for Mikey. But I did decide on an activity for Vince: Debate team with Menlo. I will also clarify that I don't know anything about American high schools, let alone a debate team.

Since Mikey is next, you can get to decide if he should join the football team, or wrestling team. Gus will come after Mikey, and then T.J at last.

I will also say this, the changes start out small, but they get bigger the more time will pass. Also, since the characters are changing, you will see this changes. Like for example, here with Vince, he is suddenly interested in school and academics, and befriending Menlo.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed it.

Please R/R and let me know what you think.

I do not own recess or its characters.
