The captain had to bite back a gasp. There she is! ...At gunpoint. To think, if she hadn't spoken up he could've..."Drake DuCaine, Angelwing!' Canard yelled, hastily holstering his weapon and motioning the others to do the same. 'Are you wanting to get shot?!"

"...N-no Sir!" Danielle squeaked, completely mortified.

"Then next time announce your presence,' Canard ordered, as he walked up to her. 'Where were you?!"

"Sorry, I-I got turned around after running from those drones..."

"You need to be more aware of your surroundings. One wrong move will get you killed out here." The captain's voice became more tame as he spoke, clearly relieved that she was back with the group and in one piece.

A hard glare was turned towards Greybeak. "If I ever hear you talk to me out of line that way again, I'll make sure you're demoted back to cleaning up rookie stalls."

"Yes Sir."

"Anyway,'' she continued as she turned to the gander. 'I'm sorry for scaring you Wally."

Wally just sighed. "You gotta be more careful Danielle. I could've killed you."

"Where the heck have you been anyway?' Greybeak piped up.'You've been AWOL for about an hour."

"An hour?"

"No, just for a few minutes.' Greybeak replied sarcastically. 'Of course for an hour. We couldn't get a hold a' you. Uh...how much of that spat did you hear, anyway?"

"I've heard enough. And I hope you didn't mean that, Captain."

The drake looked at her. Did she hear him yelling at the other three? "Uh...mean what?"

Danielle arched her brow at him doubtfully as though saying, 'Don't play dumb.' "What you said about knocking them unconscious. They're your friends, right? Besides, it's my fault. I didn't stay with Clapper, because I heard someone crying. I thought it was a civilian left behind. But...I found a group of ducks from saurian work camp 2." She explained, calmly but tensely looking at him. She left out the part the part with the hunter drones, because she felt the life of a civilian came first. Besides, the captain didn't need to know she was in danger again. Right?

The other three drakes looked with silent curiosity, wondering what he's gonna say. At first Canard just looked at her. If she had heard all of that, she must think he doesn't like her. Then again, she seems more upset about his threat than the girlfriend thing. After all, she isn't really his girlfriend...right?

"...No. I didn't mean it, I guess...' He admitted with a slight sigh. 'I was just worried. I mean, you can't just keep wandering off like that. Why didn't you contact the guys through your comm?"

"I did, I thought they got the message."

"We only got some of it. Must be some interference." Wally explained. Before the Captain could say anything else, someone nudged bast him a bit. "Miss Angelwing, are you alright?" Clapper stepped toward the female, with his hand out to her. The drake took her hand into his."I'm sorry, I couldn't protect you better."

The cream colored female just shrugged, a bit uncomfortable. "Don't worry about it, Clapper. Really."

"Protect her?" Canard asked. Did something happen? "Wait, what do you mean?"

Even as Wally and Greybeak were shaking their heads no, Clapper ignored them and gave a curt nod to the captain. "Yes sir. We were intersected by hunter drones."

Canard's eyes widened, while Wally slapped his face in irritation. Greybeak groaned out a growl while pulling his face.

"I'm so glad you were able to get away," Clapper said to Danielle. "I never would have forgiven myself."

"How did you get away?" Greybeak asked curiously.

Danielle didn't respond right away, just looked away for a moment. "I just shot at the hunter drones weapons then used an explosive puck." She said, embarrassed at the attention she was receiving.

Greybeak and Wally glanced at each other in surprise. She's tougher than she looks. Canard, on the other hand, was inwardly cursing. 'I knew it! I should've stayed with her! Damn it!' Then he started to take breaths, trying to stay calm.

"Nice, Angelwing!" Wally exclaimed. "Never thought you'd have it in ya."

Danielle blushed as both he and Greybeak nodded in agreement. Clapper stepped forward.

"Then it sounds like you may have very well saved my life," he told her seriously. That quieted the others. With a deep bow, he said, "I am in your debt."

"No, Clapper, that's not necessary-"

"Good job, Angelwing," Canard spoke up, keeping his voice level. "But let us /not/ run into a situation like that again, clear?"

"Yes, sir," a chorus of responses were shouted out. Clapper gave her another grateful smile, one that Danielle blushed even more at, turning her head away. She noticed Wally and Greybeak quietly snickering when she did that, while Canard shot them a stern gaze.

That got them to quickly shut up at seeing the glare of the captain.

Hoping to change the subject, Canard cleared his throat.

"Just ... you need to alert your superiors where you are at all times," he explained to Danielle. "You're a part of the Resistance, and an important role to boot." Canard looked away quickly, as if almost embarrassed by his own words. "Anyways, I'm glad you're okay."

"Um...C-captain?" Danielle wanted to tell Canard what she had seen. But now that she put him in a bad mood, she was afraid to say anything. But she didn't need to, for the tan male stated;

"From now on, you're staying where I know I'll find you. No more wandering away. Clear?"

"...Yes sir."

" He looked up towards Wally and Greybeak. "Let's move!" he called.

Danielle's eyes widened suddenly. "Captain, wait!"

Canard stopped and looked back down at her. "What? What is it?"

"W-when I followed the voice earlier, it led me to the Work Camp 2 ducks. I-in the old warehouse district."

Canard looked at her, and nodded. "Good work, Angelwing."

"But uh, th-that's not all. I-"

Canard's communicator went off. "Captain, we've got the aircraft spotted!"

"We're on our way."

He nodded at the two drakes that had approached him and Danielle. She looked over at them even while shaking her head from Canard's earlier statement.

"But Captain, I-"

His buzzer went off again, interrupting her. "Captain, we need reinforcements!" Heavy firing could be heard in the background.

"What's going on?!"

"-ambush-meter-lp!"

Canard turned to the others. "We gotta move!"

"But-!"

"It can wait, Angelwing!' He interrupted as he started to run. Let's go!"

The five ducks took off in a sprint. But as Danielle ran, her mind wandered back to Wildwing and Nosedive. 'Oh Great DuCaine. Please, watch over Wildwing and his brother. For their sakes, and Canard's too.' Finishing her silent prayer, Danielle then ran faster to catch up with the team.
