"I'm really glad you're alright Ari, the whole star thing was scary but it would kill me if you got hurt!"
"Thanks for your concern June, but I was safe in the cafe." Ari chuckled. "I'm good."
It was another one of her visits to see High Voltage, she was now talking to Juniper, who was very worried about her health after the whole incident with the star.
"Yeah, but are you okay mentally?" Juniper asked. "That kind of stuff messes you up."
"I'm fine." She waved it off. "I was mostly worried about my brother because he wasn't in the cafe and was at school and god forbid anything happen to him-" She paused seeing her friend's concerned look. "We're fine. Everything's fine."
Juniper sighed. "That's good."

"Anyways." Ari cleared her throat, "I actually came to tell you that I'm gonna be out of town for a while. My brother finished his first semester at college so Aunt Cass is taking us to New York to visit some cousins."
The blonde paused, her expression unreadable. "Oh. So I won't be expecting any visits for awhile?"
"Yeah." Ari chuckled. "But I'm excited to go to New York! All I heard was there was good pizza and superheroes too, I hope to make a good impression on my new cousins."
"I think you will." Juniper told her. "You're very good at making good impressions."
"Aww thanks!" Ari beamed."
"Just be careful, New Yorkers are vicious."

"What why?"
"Oh y'know! I've heard a few stories, and seen a few shows, New York amiright?"
Ari guessed it was a joke. "Yeah, I guess so."

She greeted her friend goodbye and headed outside, where Hiro was waiting for her.

"Time to tell the others about...?" She gestured.
"Yep." He nodded. "They're by the park."
"Let's get this over with." She sighed.

Steven took a day off from work, he normally didn't request ones from Krei since they often got vetoed. But you tend to take exceptions when your kids get caught up in a villain scheme, his boss found an understanding considering the last villain scheme Krei-Tech was involved in.

He still thought back to when Granville called his wife, explaining what happened to their children after the open house and they could not find them.

"What if they were-"
"Sal, David's birth mother was part of that group. She wouldn't hurt him or his sisters."

"Bobby did this, I know he did. I saw him at that open house."
"You did?!" Then the phone rang and Granville confirmed the worst.

He was a father, although Mikan wasn't born from him or Sally it didn't matter. They were horrified that she went along with Bobby's plans and even kidnapped her siblings! "We just have to hope Mikan makes the right choice." He told her.

"I know." Sally might've been angry, furious, and a raging inferno of worry and anger at whoever hurt her babies, but she wouldn't ever take that anger on their children even when they were in the wrong.

Then Mikan returned to them, bringing her siblings too. He remembered he pulled all three of them into a hug, his tears staining their shirts and Sally's hand that wasn't gripping their oldest was holding his arm so he wouldn't collapse from the relief that they were alright.

"I'm so sorry… I didn't think my dad's plans would hurt any of you. But I was just ignoring the truth because I didn't want to believe it. I'm sorry for making you guys worry and hurting you, especially you David. I'm sorry for everything." Mikan had pulled away from the hug with tears in her eyes. "I wouldn't be surprised if you want to kick me out, I would kick me out too…"
How could she ask them that? "Mikan, you always have a place with us no matter what you do." Sally told her, pulling Mikan into another hug. "It's okay now…"
That had caused another group hug, but Mikan still had more words to say. She explained everything, and that she wanted to heal and get better. That maybe she couldn't take it back but she could try to be a better person from it, and they'd help her.
Which made him more glad that Globby fellow didn't bring up Mikan at all when he gave his live report of the whole story, about Obake being responsible for certain incidents (thank god Sara didn't work at that Noodle Burger joint) and him wanting to make amends, he seemed like a good person on the inside at least.

And as Steven awaited for his wife and children to get done from their errands and work, he'd make sure they all had a home to come back to. That was what a Ferns did, he'd stand strong to carry them to safety.

At the park, Ari took a deep breath. You got this Ari, you got this. Time to tell the others the truth.

"So." She looked up at the others, Hiro was giving her a thumbs up. Fred knew what was gonna happen and was excited. Gogo, Wasabi, and Honey Lemon were confused. "I found out this thing I can do."
"Thing?" Gogo narrowed her eyes.

Ari checked to see if anyone else was in the park, when the coast was clear, she took out a water bottle. And bended the contents out to create a floating bubble.

"Woahhh..." Wasabi gasped.
"That's not what I expected." Gogo and the other stared with wide eyes.

Honey Lemon reached for the bubble, touching it. "So you have water powers?"
"Yep." Ari placed the water back into the bottle. "I was going to tell you after Wasabi's birthday because I didn't want to steal all the attention from his special day-"

"Understandable." He nodded.
"But then stuff happened so I guess now's a good time." Ari sighed. "You guys are the only people who know, well Aunt Cass and Mochi know but they're cool about it."

"They're not the only ones." She froze up. Turning around the group saw Mikan walking up to them.
"H-hey guys." Mikan sheepishly chuckled. But she got glares in return.
"What do you want, Mikan?" Gogo demanded.
"...To say sorry."

Everyone except Hiro had surprised reactions. "Huh?" Ari frowned. "Sorry isn't going to make us forget you spied on us, made rude comments, oh and also let Yama lock me up!"
"I didn't find out about that after you got out." She defended. "But yeah, sorry isn't going to fix it." Mikan looked down. "I wanted to tell you guys I feel regret over helping my dad nearly destroy the city..."
"Do you know that your dad is...?" Hiro questioned, she nodded sadly.
"Yeah, Baymax told me." Mikan sighed. "I know it's not your fault. I'm lucky Sally and Steven and my siblings forgave me and took back in. I'm not going to betray their trust, or yours ever again. I want to be a better person next semester, and I hope one day we can be friends again."
"I hope so too." Honey Lemon flashed her a hopeful smile.
"Thanks for being honest." Ari sighed. "You didn't tell your siblings our secrets, did you?"
"No!" Mikan shook her head. "David and Sara don't know about Big Hero 6. But they figured out your kidnapping on their own, they're not gonna bug you about it. Don't worry."
"What did you say about the open house? About a villain kidnapping me?"
"I don't know her name." She explained. "But Pops showed me a clip of what happened."
"Can you tell me?" Ari pleaded, "I wanna know what happened."

"Well, this scientist lady, I don't know her name but it started with a K. This hero person was carrying you to safety and that made the lady mad. She was like 'give me back that important tool' as if she didn't think of you as a person." Mikan huffed.
"I wanna know where this lady lives." Hiro angrily cracked his knuckles, Ari
"So dad had you locked up because he was curious about the reason that lady wanted you. She was chasing some cloaked person in white, they seemed to know you I guess. But the clip showed you unconscious, and once the hero in white got away Pops sent Yama and some robots to chase her off and then-"
"I woke up in the cell." Ari scrunched her nose. "I was hoping it'd jog up some memories but nope! Nothing! But I think that lady is the same one who caused my amnesia, 'cause when I visited Sycorax, Liv told me my amnesia wasn't natural."
"Speaking of Sycorax." Mikan's eyes lit up. "I got an internship there, so I'm hoping to redeem myself by doing good work. And if I find out more about your amnesia, I'll tell you, alright?"
"Alright!" And to her surprise Ari wrapped her into a hug. "I forgive you Mika! You're a good person after all!"

"Hey! Only my siblings can call me Mika!"
The rest of the gang giggled at the heartwarming interaction. While they didn't forgive the snow-haired girl yet, they would one day.

Elsewhere, Mikan's two other siblings were pulling a page out of Ari's book and doing a prison visit.

But there was no warmth in this visit. Sara felt her brother's hand tighten his grip against hers. "You okay?"

"I really want to do this another day." David huffed. "I wanna spend time with Sienna since both our semester's are over."

She grinned. "Wanting to spend alone time with your girlfriend, hmmm?"
"Sara!" He blushed furiously, but then laughed. "Very funny."
"It puts a smile on your face, it works." Sara chuckled, they then stopped walking. "We're here."
They were in front of a cell, reinforced with bars that gave a small shock at anything that touched them or tried to escape. A pair of mint-green eyes was staring at both of them.

"Well, well, well." Momakase greeted them.

"Nice greeting for someone who tried to murder the city and kill some of my parents." David hissed, Momakase opened her mouth to speak but he continued. "You don't get to decide to be my 'mom' again and just get rid of the ones who took care of me for 14 years! You were only present for 6 of them!"
"David, I-"
"And Mika told me you guys weren't even going to grab Sara! Forget the whole city, you want me to just pack up, let everyone I love die including my own sister?! I don't give a damn about blood-ties, you hurt someone close to me, you're done!"
"He's really mad at you if you can't tell." Sara pointed out. "Got any extra fuel to dig your grave?" She was being vindictive and "poking the bear" so to speak. But the trauma of escaping Obake's lair left her to channel her more sarcastic side.

Momakase was stunned to be yelled at by her son, his words seemed to strike a chord within her.

"I had done it for you." She told him, "but you're right. I don't get to decide what's best for you and what isn't. I'm sorry I failed you, David."

Her words seemed to affect her brother as well.

"I acknowledge your apology Mother." David sighed. "But I don't forgive you, not yet."

"When I forgive you, when I want to see you again, I'll come back. That's a promise."

"Okay." She nodded.

"I wanna go home Sara." He leaned onto her shoulder, sparing a sympathetic look to his mother. Sara and David left the jail cell, leaving the sushi chef/mercenary alone to her thoughts.

Sally entered the dean's office with a sigh. "Professor Granville?"

"Sally." Granville greeted. "I heard about what happened with Mikan, I'm glad that poor girl at least has a family."
"Yeah." She sighed. "I don't blame her for what she did, I can't believe I didn't notice Bobby manipulating his own daughter sooner. At least David and Sara can support her and I hope her friends forgive her soon."
"We can only hope." Granville glanced at the window. "Earlier today, Mikan visited and asked if she was going to be expelled from the school."
"Really?" Sally frowned. "For what?"
"For what happened at the open house." The dean explained. "Ms. Ferns explained her own part in the attack and her regrets over it, reminded me of how another Ferns took responsibility for everything that happened on campus."
"Well…" Sally sheepishly chuckled. "I was a Fernandes back then, and I was going through some things because of the whole amnesia problem." Then her gaze darkened. "And it seems another girl has that problem too, and from what Mikan told me it's from the same source."
"Yes, that is deeply concerning." Granville frowned. "Bless that poor girl's heart."
"Mhmm. At least Hiro can be there for her, just like how I had Steven, Wendy, Trevor, and Bobby…" Sally sighed. "I want to remember him as Bobby the introverted teen genius who let us into his space and filled us with hopeful ideas of a better world, not Obake the man who didn't care who got hurt as long at it benefited him."

"I agree." Granville frowned. "It is always heartbreaking when someone you know turns out to be awful."
"Are you hiding any skeletons in your closet any soon?"
"Oh hush." Both women smiled.

"Ari?"
"Hiro!" She stood up from the docks, "what are you doing here?"
"What are you doing here?" He shot the question back at her.
"Well, I'm watching the sunset." She smiled. "It's nice, I used to do this with my parents, wanna watch it with me?"
"Sure." He smiled and sat next to her. "I'm glad the city's okay."
"Me too." Ari hummed. "I find this place home now. I found you after-all."
Hiro chuckled. "Wow. Cheesy much?"
"Hey!" She playfully punched his shoulder.

"Thinking about what Mikan said?" Hiro noted her blue eyes darkening.
"A little." She sighed. "But I don't want to go looking for trouble, that lady she described sounds scary, scarier than Obake."
"I think you're exaggerating." Hiro gestured.
"I get the feeling she was responsible for my parent's death." She sighed. "Maybe because of my water abilities, maybe I was in a freak accident after they died and it just created them. And maybe that lady was trying to use me as a weapon."
He paused. "Oh." He knew from Mikan that whatever group she belonged to was laying low, maybe they'd show up sooner or later, but sent chills down his spine.
"Yeah, dark." Ari dipped her feet into the water. "But I find it easier to move on each day, because I have my loving brother and friends by my side." She smiled at him.

He felt touched by her kind words. "Aww sis." Hiro chuckled.

"That and I'm also nervous about going to public school for the first time, how did you do it?!"
"Well you're going to a nicer school than I did." Hiro patted her on the back. "And you have Rachel, and you're really smart. And if you need any help with homework or projects let me know."
"Okay, okay." She chuckled. "Thanks for the overbearing."
"You're welcome." They then started giggling.

The two of them then enjoyed the sunset together. The semester was hard, Hiro had faced villains and college, Ari had faced amnesia and loss.

There were more hardships to come, but as long as the two of them were together they'd triumph.

No matter what came their way.

Stay tuned for Heroes of Flowers: Tempest of Hearts!

*Dramatic sobbing* My babies already got done one season. *blows nose into a tissue* I'm so proud

Thanks to everyone who read and reviewed, or even mentioned this story to any friends. I honestly wasn't going to write a fic about my little story, but seeing such tales in the fandom about the gang inspired me.

Epilouge might be a little whiplashy but its just me trying to wrap up the story in a neat little bow.

And yeah... about that trip to New York? There will be a little fic about it before I start posting Season 2, kids could use a relaxing break before being yeeted into the monster arc.

And y'all might see some familiar faces... hehehehehehehe : ) But "Family Vacation" will be posted in early 2021. So that gives me time to post some extra HOF content on my tumblr ( spyrkle4).

I said I was gonna do a character QnA after I got done this fic (at least to my readers). Which I will! But if you want to ask any of the characters any questions, you can on Tumblr! Or if you wanna ask me any questions.

There's also a lot I wanna do like edit the chapters, edit "Family Vacation" before I post,,, edit "Tempest of Hearts" and maybe write SOME Big Hero 6 fanfiction that's not a one-shot or HOF-related. But that's for another day!

Thanks to all of you who've stuck with me and "The Ferns and Nerds" feel free to join the Hamada family for a "Family Vacation" January 2021. And be prepared for the "Tempest of Hearts" when they return to San Fransokyo for the new semester.

Have a "cat"tastic day my readers!
