Yami no Matsuei

Disclaimer: I do not own Yami no Matsuei. Wish I did, though

A/N: It's been a LONG time since my last story so I thought before this year is out, I'd post this. Enjoy!

"No calls. No emails. No messages of any kind," the dark-haired man lamented. "What's up with that?"

The silver blond kissed the other's man's soft cheek, nuzzling it a bit. "Any number of things, beloved. Work being number one. Perhaps they are swamped in a heavy caseload."

Tsuzuki sighed and gave a slight nod. "Yeah, you could be right. I mean, that's probably it. It's just that I haven't heard from them for a couple of weeks! Watari would somehow manage to text a joke or just say hi." He sighed again.

Muraki kissed his husband's cheek again, hugging the smaller man from behind. "I admit it is strange that even Watari has not dropped a line."

This time Tsuzuki sighed heavily, his sadness apparent. "Maybe they just forgot about me," he replied with a stab of self-pity.

"Nonsense!" Muraki turned the brunet around. "They have done no such thing and you know it. Now, I suggest we continue with our Christmas plans and make this evening a joyous one. What do you say?"

Lips tugging into a smile, Tsuzuki nodded. "You're right. Yeah. Let's have our evening like we planned."

"That's the spirit, beloved."

Later that evening

Laughter was followed with sweet kisses. Tsuzuki clung tight to his taller husband, smiling. He had a marvelous time. A cozy dinner and drinks at a swanky club. A walk through a park decorated with all sorts of lights and the dancing! Romantic dancing in a Christmas tree courtyard.

Wrapping his arms around Muraki's neck, Tsuzuki pressed his lips against the silver blond's neck.

"Did you enjoy yourself, beloved?"

Tsuzuki let out a happy sigh. "I did, Kazutaka. It was romantic and special and a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas."

"I'm glad. Now, what do you say we continue this wonderful evening in the bedroom?" Muraki tugged his husband toward their room, smiling.

"Absolutely!" Tusuzki enthused to which Muraki laughed. "I'm definitely up for cuddling!"

Muraki was just about to remark that he was up for something extra when the brunet's phone buzzed.

Retrieving it from his pocket, Tusuzki peered at it, ready to hang up.

"Oh!" Recognizing the number, Tsuzuki pressed the button to answer.

"Watari!"

Muraki squeezed Tsuzuki's other hand as his husband talked.

"What? Yeah. Well, I did wonder why I haven't been hearing from you guys...huh? Big case? You guys were undercover? I see," Tsuzuki glanced at Muraki. "No, no. I wasn't worried."

Muraki cleared his throat a bit. Tsuzuki glared.

"I knew it had to be something important. Sure! Yeah, that'd be great! Okay. Merry Christmas, to you too, Watari, and tell everybody Merry Christmas from me and Kazutaka. See you soon! Bye!"

Muraki tilted his head, silver eyes twinkling. "Well?"

The brunet shrugged. "They were undercover and were under orders not to contact anyone. I wasn't worried."

Muraki looked at his husband pointedly.

"Well, I wasn't!"

Taking Tsuzuki's hand, Muraki walked toward the bedroom. "Now that that is settled, you and I have a date to keep."

Violets glowed. "Yes. Merry Christmas, Kazutaka"

"Merry Christmas, beloved."

That's it! Very short, I know. But I wanted to post something before this year was out just to see if I could. So if there's anyone reading this, thank you. I won't make any promises but my determination is to post more. Have a Merry Christmas!
