All right, ladies and mentlegen (cookie if you get what I'm referencing), I'm back with another one-shot, this time about the spies' fleet-footed track star, Bridget!

Bridget debuted in Beyond the Looking Glass, the second co-op story Mat and I ever wrote, and since we're capping off season two of Totally Spies: The New Adventures with an HD Remix of Beyond the Looking Glass (it's gonna be a MOVIE!), I figured I'd generate a little hype for it with a solo story about Bridget, detailing one of her missions before she joined the team we all know and love. So, you could probably consider this a prologue to Beyond the Looking Glass HD Remix.

I won't keep rambling any longer, so here's the feature presentation! Sit back, relax, and enjoy Track Thunder!

3:15 P.M. – Beverly Hills High School

"See you guys next week!" Bridget Taylor exclaimed to her fellow track team students as she walked out of school in the opposite direction. This was their third 'big meeting' of the week, mostly because those uptown snobs from Los Angeles were coming for the big track meet in two weeks, and the Beverly Hills team had finally grown sick of always losing to them.

Still don't know why I'm their secret weapon, though, Bridget thought. I mean, I know I'm pretty dang fast for my age, but why is everyone banking on me to be the anchor that'll sink those Los Angeles stubs?

Deciding to just shake that thought off for now, Bridget slung her purse over her shoulder and began to jog down the sidewalk towards the Groove in the distance. After all, she had seen her running shoes lately, and...

...well, they were pretty much on their last legs, and she didn't want them tearing apart at the worst possible time.

And that sucks, because I've had these things for at least three years now, Bridget thought.

As Bridget dashed past a rather large tree, said tree's trunk suddenly opened like an elevator door, unleashing a powerful suction that eventually pulled Bridget into it, despite her best efforts.

Even though she'd been surprised by the abrupt summons, Bridget managed a perfect landing when she made it to Jerry's office.

"Is there anywhere in this city you don't have something ready to summon me?" Bridget teased.

"A few of my other agents ask me that question all the time," Jerry laughed.

Bridget couldn't help but chuckle as she opened her X-Powder to don her bright, emerald-green spy catsuit.

"All right, let's get down to business," Bridget proclaimed. "Who's on the loose today?"

Jerry gestured to the viewscreen, which was now showing a mugshot of Willard, the 'extremely slow' mad scientist who tried to use a device that slowed molecular movement to make the entire world as slow as he was. Ironically, despite the 'slowness', Willard was quite swift when it came to actually fighting.

"Oof, him again, huh?" Bridget quipped. "You think he'd learn after the last time he got his keester handed to him. But he probably thinks third time's the charm. What exactly is he doing?"

"From what we've been gathering, Willard appears to be kidnapping track and field athletes," Jerry stated, immediately putting Bridget on edge.

"Figures he would," Bridget quipped. Just then, a loud alarm began to blare, and the viewscreen changed to show who else but Willard, moving rather quickly towards... "...wait, he's going to the school! That rat bastard's going after my track team!"

"Your gadgets are already inside your Jetpack Backpack," Jerry stated. "Now, with all haste, Bridget."

"That was always the plan, Jer," Bridget quipped as she dashed out of the office.

As Bridget ran as fast as her legs would allow from W.O.O.H.P. back to Beverly Hills High School, the only thought running through her head was that of making Willard pay if he even touched any of her friends on the team.

In her distracted state, Bridget didn't even notice someone who looked her way like she was someone they hadn't seen in a long time.

3:36 P.M. – Beverly Hills High School

"Well, that was fun," Zoey laughed as the rest of the track team continued to perform their exercises. "Here's hoping we can whoop those dumbbells from Los Angeles next week!"

"Got a question, Zoey," Corina responded. "Why are you so focused on Bridget? She's not the only member of the track team, you know."

"Yeah, but she's the fastest of all of us, and you know it," Zoey proclaimed.

"You make it seem like she's the only member of the team with how much you focus on her," Kikki laughed. "Seriously, we all have our own merits!"

"Yeah, remember the time when Bridget twisted her ankle and we had to face SoCal's track team without her?" Corina stated. "And we still beat them?"

Zoey honestly didn't have a rebuttal for that.

"Oop, looks like Corina nailed your keester to the fence, Zoey," Renee giggled, causing Zoey to freeze in place as if she'd been attacked.

"Ooh, that's my Renee!" Corina squealed, leaping over to hug Renee.

"You could swear those two are in love with how often they hug like that," Kikki teased, only for her ears to pick up a strange sound that allowed her to quickly jump away from a bright red laser blast. "All right, who's the wise guy?!"

"That would be me, sweetcakes," Willard laughed, aiming his molecular ray gun for Kikki again. "Now, if you would kindly hold still?"

"Fat chance, you greasy nerd!" Kikki shot back, agilely leaping around to avoid Willard's blasts before jumping towards him.

However, Willard had been expecting that and grabbed Kikki out of mid-jump before pointing his ray gun at her head.

"Let me go, grease trap!" Kikki shouted.

"I think not," Willard proclaimed. "Now I'd suggest you little track nuggets stay right where you are, and don't try any sudden moves, or your little monkey girl is going to be moving in ultra slow-mo for the rest of her life."

Willard began a classic evil laugh, only for a gust of wind to strike him in the back and cause him to stumble, loosening his grip enough for Kikki to break free and rejoin the rest of her team.

"Bridget!" Corina exclaimed.

"When a lady says to let them go, you let them go, skunk-weed," Bridget proclaimed, aiming her Wind Tunnel 9000 towards Willard as he turned to face her. "Not listening to a lady just makes you look like even more of a colossal screw-up."

"Oh, please spare me your tired platitudes," Willard shot back. "Another one of Jerry's stooges, I take it? You're definitely not on the same team as those three, for one."

"Well, I'm mostly a solo agent at the moment," Bridget answered. She didn't need to worry about blowing her cover to her track team friends, as they already knew of her spy career thanks to getting caught up in one of her earlier cases. "Still looking for the right partner. But back to business, you're coming with me, whether you want to or not."

"Is that right?!" Willard taunted. "Well, I'm afraid you'll have to catch me first!"

That said, Willard began dashing around the track field, displaying quite the speed for someone deigned as "slow".

"Get back here, you little..." Zoey growled.

Bridget, however, just smiled. "I can catch him. I am the Beverly Hills High School track team's trump card, right?" Bridget giggled.

"Well, when you put it that way..." Zoey sighed, to which Corina and Renee giggled.

Bridget walked up to the track's starting line, adopting the classic pose.

"Gotta start at just the right speed," Bridget stated to herself, falling back into her old training routines. "Account for wind resistance, maintain proper balance..."

Just for old times' sake, Zoey and Kikki recited the countdown from three. The instant that Kikki shouted "GO!", Bridget was off and running.

"Can't catch me, little girl!" Willard laughed, only to look to his side and gasp in shock when he saw Bridget running alongside him.

"You were saying?" Bridget taunted, leaping to kick Willard in the side before returning to her run.

This strange track and field match would continue for a while, with Willard attempting to outspeed Bridget, only for her to show that she could easily keep pace with the ironically slow villain.

"Is anyone else confused here?" Kikki asked as Bridget and Willard continued to give each other the slip.

"About the villain or the fact that Bridget's having a track match with him?" Zoey answered. "Because it could very well be both."

Eventually, Bridget was able to lunge ahead of Willard and knock him over with a flying kick that sent him stumbling into the main outdoor area.

"Ooh, that's it, little girl," Willard growled. "I hope you're ready to feel pain."

"Is that a fact?" Bridget taunted. "Because it looks to me like you over-exerted yourself back there."

"I'll show you, brat!" Willard shouted, charging at Bridget only for her to duck and leg sweep him mid-run, causing Willard to fall flat on his face.

Bridget knew he probably wasn't done yet, though, and kept her fighting stance up as Willard jumped back to his feet and started zig-zagging towards her, trying to confuse her.

Please, Bridget thought. I've seen that trick before.

As Willard continued to zig-zag, Bridget followed his movements with her own eyes, and just as he attempted to hit her, Bridget countered by raising her arm to block the punch, then followed up with a palm strike to Willard's gut that dazed him.

Bridget didn't let up, leaping to knock Willard away with a right cross kick across his face, then dashing in to knock him back down with another leg sweep.

"You wanna give it up yet?" Bridget proclaimed. "Because you don't look so good."

"YOU HAVEN'T WON YET!" Willard screamed, attempting to pounce on Bridget despite the fact that his attacks were getting slower and slower.

"Ugh, why are you so stubborn?" Bridget groaned as she jumped back to dodge Willard's attack. "It's almost like there's some rule that you can't show weakness even when you're obviously being clobbered."

"HEY, GREASE TRAP!"

Suddenly, Kikki jumped onto Willard's back and started pounding away at his back.

"This is for trying to zap me with your dumb Star Trek ripoff!" Kikki shouted, knocking Willard down with an overhead slam.

"Dogpile, everyone!" Zoey shouted as she, Corina, Renee, and Kikki all jumped onto different parts of Willard's body to trap him in place long enough for Bridget to move in and snap her handcuffs onto Willard's wrists.

"You lose, buddy," Bridget laughed. "Should have realized that you were dealing with a track and field superstar."

"Oh, now she admits it," Zoey giggled.

Just in time, of course, Jerry's personal helicopter touched down almost immediately after Bridget had arrested Willard.

"Once again, Jerry, your timing is impeccable," Bridget stated. "Got a baddie to send back to containment for you."

"Excellent job as always, Bridget," Jerry proclaimed. "This might be a record for fastest mission completion yet."

"Well, it definitely helps that we found him trying to mess with my track buddies," Bridget giggled before gasping in shock when she saw what time it was. "Oh, crapbaskets! Mom's gonna freak if I don't get home soon! Gottagoyouguyseeyouatthenextmeetingbye!"

And like that, Bridget was off and running as Jerry's helicopter returned to W.O.O.H.P. with the captured and complaining Willard in tow.

"Well, that was... a thing," Zoey admitted.

"Hey, at least we got to help Bridget take down a weirdo bad guy!" Kikki laughed. "That's quite the feather in our cap!"

Once everything was calm again, though, someone else rushed onto the track field.

"Excuse me, ladies, is there anyone by the name of Bridget here?" Nick asked. "I heard she was on the track team."

"Yeah, but you just missed her," Corina answered. "She had to skedaddle back home."

"Nuts," Nick proclaimed. "Is there any way I could talk to her? She's an old friend of mine, and once I realized she was going to school here, I kinda felt like catching up..."

"Well, we could always give you her number," Kikki stated.

"Are you sure that's a good idea, Kikki?" Renee asked.

"Hey, I think Bridget would be happy to hear from an old friend," Kikki laughed.

And it turned out that was the best decision Kikki had ever made, as when Bridget had returned home, she almost immediately got a text message from Nick.

Hey, Bridget! I hope you still remember me (I attached a photo of me just to confirm it's actually me, lol), but I heard you were back in the neighborhood! In case you're wondering how I got your number, your friends on the track team insisted. Anyways, I was wondering if we could meet up sometime? I honestly really miss you, you know. Text me back and let me know!

~ Nick

Thankfully Bridget was in her room at the moment so she didn't have to explain the wide, happy smile she was currently giving off as she texted Nick back with a time and place that they could meet up.

She couldn't wait.

Totally Spies: Track Thunder
~The End~

And there we go!

It felt fun to give Bridget a bit of a solo mission before the main event begins. Bridget's always been the fastest of the spies (why do you think she got Sonic Mode?) so I felt it was appropriate to pit her against good ol' ironic Willard.

Also, see if you can guess the connection between the names of Bridget and her track friends and what anime they're from.

Anyways, that's all for now, so until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, and I'll see you next mission!

Stay gold,
The Blue Time Ranger
