Hello everyone. Welcome back! I am so happy you have decided to read this story! Now, if you haven't read my Little Merman story and did not answer the question I asked at the end of the final chapter, I will ask again. How many of you know of the sequel The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea?

...

Great! For those of you who don't know, it is a direct to video sequel that came out in the year 2000 that tells the story of Princess Melody, daughter to Eric and Ariel (I know! Ariel a parent!). After a terrifying encounter with Ursula's sister, Morgana, that threatens her daughter's safety when she was a baby, Ariel makes the hard decision to keep both her and Melody away from the sea, including keeping her mermaid heritage a secret. But when 12 year old Melody sneaks off into the ocean behind her parent's backs and finds a golden locket with her name on it and a picture of Atlantica in it, she runs away from home in search of answers. Now, Ariel must confront the mistake she's made by finding her daughter and telling her the truth.

Pretty exciting, huh? There's a bit of mixed reviews, but I personally like it! Not only do I love Melody, but the woman who voices her is none other than Tara Strong!

But with that out of the way, please, allow me to take you on a journey as we...return to the sea.

It had been two years since the fall of Urson the sea wizard and the marriage between Prince Aaron the merman and Princess Erica the human. Ever since, the human world and mer-world had lived together in harmony, establishing rules to help co-exist, such as no fishing in certain areas. Erica even had Chef Louise stop serving seafood at the castle.

These past two years had been the best two years in Aaron's life, and today was going to make it even better. Just a few months ago, Erica and Aaron were blessed with the birth of a happy healthy baby boy they named Melodious. He had his mother's shiny black hair and his father's ocean blue eyes. Melodious was ready for his first voyage out to sea where he would get to meet his grandmother, uncles, and very close friends of Aaron's. Aaron could hardly wait!

On the ship that would take them out to sea, they set up a small nursery with some toys, a shell shaped cradle with a sea creature mobile hanging above it, and even tall windows that even crawling Melodious could look out at.

Aaron was looking out at the deep blue water when he heard a sound coming from Melodious' cradle, indicating he had just woken up from his nap. Aaron walked over and picked him up. He couldn't stop holding his son. Everything about him was perfect! He held him in his arms and twirled him around the room, singing to his special boy.

"You are my world, my son. What a wonderful world I see. You are the song I'm singing. You are my handsome Melodious."

Aaron was wearing a yellow vest over a white shirt, a yellow bowtie, yellow pants, white shoes, and his purple shell necklace. His son wore a white shirt with pink buttons and pink on the cuffs/neckline, white pants with a pink wave design on the bottoms, and white baby booties.

The door suddenly opened and Erica, wearing a formal white dress and a bow in her hair, came in.

"Darling, are you ready?" she asked, "We'd better be going."

"Look at him, isn't he glowing," Aaron said.

"He looks divine and you look exquisite, but look at the time."

"Couldn't be, is it?"

"The crew is awaiting your orders," Lady Grimsby told them.

The crew prepared the ship until someone called "Ahoy there! They're coming!"

"Trumpeters, ready! Drummers, start drumming!" Grimsby ordered.

Drummers started drumming and fanfare played on the trumpets to announce the prince and princess. Everyone who came stood aside to form a path so the happy family could walk by and singing a song to mark this momentous celebration. Blue and yellow flowers decorated the ship and a wreath with an M in the middle hung high for all to see. Everyone was so excited, for there had never been, not ever before, a child born of sea and shore!

Under the waves, word was spread of the mer-prince's long awaited return and Aaron's Melodious. Not only was Melodious going to meet his other family, but Aaron would return to the water so his baby could receive the blessing ceremony from Queen Tritana.

Once the ship was in view, everyone swam up to the surface to see Prince Aaron with baby Melodious in his arms.

"This is your world, my son. One world, the land and sea," he told him, "My hope for you for always is that your heart will hold part of me."

Mer-guards appeared and raised their swords high as Her Majesty, Queen Tritana, rose up from the water to behold her grandson. He was so beautiful! She couldn't help but place her hand against his little cheeks, earning her a smile from him. Her heart felt as if it would burst and channeled her happiness into creating a rainbow over all. Everyone cheered. Even little Melodious clapped his little hands and giggled. Now, it was time to present him with a special gift: a golden seashell necklace with his name on it.

"My precious Melodious, I'm giving you this locket so you will never forget that part of your heart will always belong to the sea," she told him.

She opened the locket to reveal a magical bubble that showed the undersea kingdom of Atlantica with merpeople swimming all around and the tune of the song everyone had sung before. He held the necklace while his grandmother put it on.

Everyone was just so proud of them. Sabrina even wiped tears from her eye at the very thought their little Aaron was all grown up. If only Aaron's father were there with them. He would've loved this.

It was so hard to believe that this little baby was created by two people of two different worlds. He was half human, half merman.

Aaron realized what people said was true: happily ever after wasn't just marriage. It was so much more than that. And Aaron had never felt happier than at that very moment.
