CJ Cregg watched the opera with glee. Just before she had joined the White House staff she had had a kiss with the person she was in love with. It was great to finally let her feelings be known to him.

"CJ." A voice whispered from behind her.

She looked in the direction the voice was coming from. Ron Butterfield was standing over her with a stern look on his face. Her smile soon left her face as she suddenly dropped back to reality.

"Can you come with me?" He asked.

She looked to where the president was sitting. He looked safe with everyone around him. He was in good hands, she could leave him.

She got up and followed Ron outside the theatre. They kept walking for ages. CJ was somewhat confused by how far they were actually going. It was obviously something that was very important. They finally came to a stop.

"Well?" CJ asked as she looked Ron in the face.

"I'm sorry to have to be the one who tells you this." Ron started.

CJ got ready for whatever Ron was going to say. Ron never said this before to her, she had to be ready for anything by this point.

The president figgitted in his seat. It was clear to those around him, he was getting restless. Leo bent forward as the opera continued to sing out.

"Something wrong sir?" He asked quietly so as to not interrupt the others.

"I need some air." The president answered.

Leo nodded as the president rose out of his seat. Leo joined him walking out of the theatre. The service agents joined them making sure the president was safe.

Once Leo and Bartlett got out of the theatre, the president loosened his tie from around his throat. Leo paced the floor as he waited for the president to make up his mind. Bartlett just smiled as he watched his friend.

"Something bothering you?" Bartlett asked.

"I just wish we were back in there." Leo sighed.

"I think we're safe out here."

"It's not that."

"Then what is it?"

"Nothing. Just feel like something is wrong."

"Can't you be an optimist for once?"

Leo gave the president a glancing look. The president just smiled it off as he walked around a bit to let some air in. Before they could go back into the theatre, Leo's phone began to vibrate in his pocket. He answered it as Bartlett watched on.

"What is it?" Bartlett questioned.

Leo's face nearly sank into the floor. Bartlett watched on in horror waiting for an answer to his question.

"Alright thanks." Leo said, putting his phone down.

"What's happened?" Bartlett asked, looking at Leo's phone.

Leo looked into the president's eyes. He didn't know how to answer the president. This wasn't going to be easy whatsoever.

"It's Agent Donovan. He's been shot." Leo said quietly out of respect.

"He's been what?!" Bartlett said shocked as Leo was.

"He was shot whilst in a convenience store. Armed robbery." Leo said, waving his phone.

"Well is he alright?" Bartlett asked.

CJ was still standing in front of Ron Butterfield waiting for his answer. Ron's face wasn't giving anything away, so it was hard to tell what was going on.

"It's Agent Donovan." Ron finally admitted.

CJ felt like she was going to fall to the ground. She kept herself composed though and managed to stay upright. She took a deep breath in and carried on talking.

"What happened?" CJ asked, shaking.

"He was shot whilst buying something. There was an armed robbery in progress. He must have walked into it." Ron shrugged a little with the last sentence.

CJ felt like she was underwater. She couldn't breath and felt like she was going to pass out. She felt herself shaking and tried to compose herself so that the secret service agents around her didn't talk about her behind her back.

"Is he alright?" CJ asked.

Josh was at his house arguing with one of his friends. He hated arguments but an argument like this wasn't going to be over quickly. His head was spinning and so was the room as the argument escalated.

The phone started to ring which managed to just cut through the shouting. She went over to the phone and answered it. Josh continued to shout as she listened to the conversation.

"Oh my God." She said.

Josh stopped yelling for a second.

"It's Agent Simon Donovan." She said gasping.

John waited with bated breath to see what had happened. He knew how close he and CJ had now gotten. He just hoped nothing bad had happened.

"He's been shot." She said putting her hand to her mouth.

Josh held back a gasp in his throat. This was the worst case scenario! He picked up the phone from her and put it to his ear.

"How is he?" Josh asked into the phone as he sat down for the update.
