Prologue

Many years ago in a continent distant from the dragon realms. In the middle of the lush neon glowing valley are herds of herbivore dinosaurs like Triceratops and Brachiosaurs where minding their own business eating the neon blue glowing grass while the sun is setting. The Herds continued to eat their dinner until the earth started to shake beneath their feet. The shaking is so massive, they could see flocks of Petradons flying out of the forest nearby in fear.

Despite being feral, the herbivore herds were intelligent enough to know shaking ground means something is coming. Turning their alert head to their left they spot an army of reptilian theropods called Raptors wearing Silver armor consisting of chest plate, guantlets, tail guards and a helmet with a black feathered mane on top. They all run like a stamped making war croaks with their weapons drawn and raised flags representing their force.

To the Herbivores' right, they see another army of Raptors charging from a collassal tree with a magnificent city under it. Unlike the others, those raptors wore black armor with orange feathers on their helmets raising different flags. Like the Silver ones, they too have weapons ready for war.

As the two Raptor forces get close, the herds begin to flee in fear for their lives running into the forest as the two forces begin to clash.

Leading the Silver army is a hooded figure holding what looks like a bladed staff on one claw raised in full force. In his hood are a pair of silver angry eyes focused on the battle at paw. He scans around the battlefield hoping to find a particular enemy.

The armies finally clash starting the battle in the middle of the valley while the sun is still setting. Sounds of steel weapons are heard clashing with each other, arrows shot from archers, claws slicing, jaws being used to latch on, and flashes of spells are seen being casted by spell casters. Now night fall while the battle raged on, the leading figure continues to fight with a mix of magic and weapon until he spots a glowing orange object flying from the city.

From the city, the orange object turns out to be some kind of Dragon shaped skull sword making its way into the middle of the battle field causing an explosion making nearby soldiers, including the figure fly off. As the soldiers from both sides land on their backs, the figure recovered and landed on his feet. The figure looks with a gritted face looks around the field full of Raptors fighting each other. He continues to look around to see the object in front with a horrifying sight surrounded in flames.

From the sword appears a large Orange Raptor wearing sinister dark Purple armor and cape with all his might kneeling with one knee. The Orange Raptor begins to slowly get up on his feet with an evil smile forming on his snout opening his eyes to reveal a pair of yellow evil eyes. Standing tall, he picks up the sword with a flick on one claw while showing a wand on the other.

"By the Spirits…RIPTO!" One of the Silver Soldiers shrieked in fear while the black soldiers cheered with morale seeing their master has come.

The Orange Raptor, Ripto lifts up the sword making it glow red and he makes a big swing igniting a beam of red Ather taking out many of the Silver wearing Raptor soldiers. Some try to attack Ripto only to be knocked out by Ripto's fire blast spell with his wand sending them flying towards their leader, the figure.

In shock, the figure runs up to one of his fallen soldiers struggling to get to up. The soldier looks to the figure and begs, "Lord Magnus….You must…defeat him!" and he dies.

The figure Magnus stands up and draws his staff challenging his opponent Ripto with a face of rage in his hood. With a blood lust roar, Magnus makes one big sprint towards Ripto with the blade of his staff only to be blocked by the skull sword.

As Magnus struggles gritting his teeth, Ripto kept a mocking grin as he continues to block Magnus's attack.

"We meet again little Magnus!" Ripto deflects Magnus's attack pushing him off and continues, "You should have seen the look of your daddy's face when he found out I turned on him hahaha."

The taunt only makes the Silver scaled figure with armor and cloak even more angry making snarling sound. Magnus continues to use his weapon to attack Ripto any chance he gets. The two opponents continue to fight on completely ignoring the battle around them. Magnus hops back and makes a twirling attack revealing his silver tail with a long shiny tail blade that no Raptor has about to attack Ripto only for the former to dodge it by jumping back.

Out of nowhere, Magnus unleashes what looks like a white glowing atomic energy from his opened snout as is he breathing fire. Ripto blocks the attack with a magic shield crossing his arms. The Atomic force is indeed strong based on the impact colliding making Ripto drag a few feet.

Then Ripto begins to slowly walk towards Magnus using his forcefield to push the atomic energy breath being blown by Magnus.

As Magnus struggles using his Atomic Breath, the power causes gusting blow. The blow causes his hood to flying down revealing a head of a silver Dragon rather than a Raptor. Turns out Magnus is not a Raptor but a Dragon the whole time. The Silver dragon begins to feel his mana getting depleted while Ripto continues to get closer with a confident smile.

The Atomic Breath fades away. A now tired Magnus lands on his paws exhausted depleted of mana. He looks up with an angry face while Ripto walk towards him looking evil as if he won his battle. Around them, all the Raptors of both sides turn their attention to their leaders. Some with fear on their faces while others cheered.

With a laugh, Ripto raises his sword and is about to make his final blow at the tired Magnus only for it freeze in place.

Magnus looks up to see that the sword Ripto tried to use did not hit him.

Confused, Ripto tries to strike again but the attack froze again like some kind of force is preventing him from striking Magnus.

"What kind of magic is this!? Is my strikes being blocked or something!?" Ripto rants. Suddenly an unknown force causes the sword to fly out of Ripto's claws. The Sword flew up as if it has a mind of its own. The Sword then flies towards Magnus by the hilt landing right into his paws making a white glow at his touch.

Magnus looks at the magic skull sword on his paw confused. Neither him nor the frustrated Ripto could not fanthom at what just happened. One thing for sure Magnus sees his chance to win the battle. With both paws, Magnus takes one big jump attack.

Ripto tries to block the attack with his force field. Colliding with the force field, the glowing sword making a chainsaw like sound slowly breaking the force field.

"This…is for my Brothers! My Mother! My Friends, AND MY FATHER!" Magnus shouts as the Force field finally shatters allowing a complete swing slicing Ripto by the chest. Sounds of gasp are heard from the soldiers.

Looking down on his chest, Ripto could see some blood coming down and falls back on the ground. Ripto is defeated making Magnus's army cheer in victory.

As Magnus's army continue to cheer, Magnus himself sits on the ground like a dog and takes a closer looks at the dragon skull sword in his paws. With a sad face, Magnus leans his face on the sword and mutters, "Oh father, what has that fiend done to you?"

That's right, I am doing a rewrite but this time I decided to call the Kobolds Raptors. Stay tuned for this story, LOS: Of Dragons and Raptors.
