Forest Beauty

Ryo x Lettuce

(Ryo pov.)

I left the little cottage where I grew up in to gather berries for the girls I've been living with. But...I meets someone.

Listening to the air, I hears a wonderful singing voice. Echoing through the sky and right to my and many others ears.

I dropped the berries and went to look for that voice. It was like an angel and I had to find the girl singing that song.

I have never heard such a wonderful voice, not even the girls I lives with are that good. Well, one of them can't even sing.

I soon found a lake deep in the forest, and across from it, the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen. Her short green hair blended in with the forest around her and her feet, dipped into the clear water, I could even see her reflection in it from across the way.

She kept singing, as she hadn't noticed me over here. Animals gathered around her and I couldn't help but be so...enchanted by her.

She looked up seeing I was here and was surprised. She didn't run as I was far away from her. I sat by the edge of the lake just watching her.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"I'm...a boy." I wasn't going to give her my name, but she was so beautiful, if she asked, I might have told her.

"Oh. Well, what are you doing here?" She asked.

"I heard your voice. I followed it and found you here. Your voice is very beautiful And you are too." I said.

She smiled hiding her blushing face. "Thank you." She said.

"I am going to have to go. Can I find you back here again?" I asked her.

"Sure. I'm always here every day. But no one has ever heard my voice before." She said.

"Hard to believe." I chuckled.

"Call me Lettuce." She said.

"Lettuce. Nice to meet you." I said. I hurried back to the basket and picked more berries and headed back.

Ichigo, Mint, and Zakuro were waiting for me to return and weren't happy with how long I was.

"Where have you been?! What took you so long to pick berries?!" Ichigo asked.

"Sorry. I wanted to make sure these barriers were fresh and everything." I told her.

"I'm going to my room. Let me know when supper's ready." I said and went up to my room.

But I smiled as I laid on my bed thinking of Lettuce, the forest's beauty queen. I would see her again. And every day, since this day.

The End
