-The next morning-

-Y/N POV-

I slowly wake up, my eyes adjusting to the bright light. I look around, and am immediately puzzled by the walls of the medical bay looking back at me, instead of my dorm walls. Puzzled, I tried getting up, but an unforeseen mass kept me pinned down to the bed. Looking down, I see that the unforeseen mass was in fact Caveira, fast asleep on top of me, using my chest as a pillow. It was then I noticed my arm practically pinned under her. At that point, it was completely numb, so I was fine with her sleeping on it longer. I smiled at the sight before me. She looked so...innocent. Nothing of her right now represented the lead interrogator and overall scary killer of the team she usually was. I smile to myself as I remember last night, and how she told me how she really felt after the incident at training.

-the night before-

"Wait wait wait, hold up." I put my hand up in a 'stop' gesture, Cav's words running through my brain. "Huh?" She sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Geez, boys are dumb as hell" she muttered loud enough for me to hear.

"I'm right here" I remind her.

"Hence why I said it so you could hear it" she muttered again, but breaking into a smile. "But I get it: The big, badass brazilian killer/interrogation chick has feelings. Shocker" she smirked again, before looking away, smile fading. It was my turn to sigh, as I got up from my chair, and sat down at the foot of her medical bed. She instantly looked back at me, confusion on her face.

"Cav, I promise I wasn't trying to degrade you or anything. I was stunned because, well, I felt the same way for a while now-"

"Oh I knew" she shrugged.

"Wait, you did?" I asked, jaw dropped. She nodded. "Since when?"

"...how long have you liked me?" she smiled as I let out a whistle.

"Yeah, I'm not good with hiding feelings" I admitted. Cav chuckled.

"It's fine. Besides, until today, I really didn't want to start a relationship with anyone. What you did for me today, putting your life at steak just so I didn't loose mine? You've more than earned my heart." she smiled. I smiled back at her.

"I'll gladly accept it" I smiled. Cav smirked.

"Good. I really didn't want to use force"

"Wait...what?"

"Nothing" she chucked. "Right now, you're staying right here." With that, Cav clung onto my arm, making it clear she was not budging. Sighing, I lay back on her bed, knowing Maverick will get the dorm room to himself tonight. I definitely wasn't going anywhere. I was fine with that, because a night with Cav would be a really good one. So I thought. As soon as I lay down, Cav climbed onto my chest, resting her head in my neck.

"Cav…" I breathed. She looked up to me.

"Rule number one for dating me, idiota: I'm in command. And I say I'm staying like this all night. Goodnight." With that, she lay her head on my chest, and in a few minutes was out cold. I took a second to recount my luck: Caveira, my crush for a while, just told me she liked me back. I smiled, wrapping my arm around her back, and promptly falling asleep.

-present time-

I feel her begin to stir on top of me. I smile, and I look at her, only to have her looking right back at me with very tired eyes.

"M...morning" she mumbled before snuggling further into my chest. I smiled at her, running my hand through her black mess of hair.

"Morning to you" I said as she looked up at me, smiling. "What?"

"Oh, nothing." Cav laughed. "I just have a feeling this was the right decision"

"Yeah, same" I chuckled. Cav laughed again, yanking the covers off our shared medical bed, exposing us to the cold morning air. I shivered slightly, still used to the heat. "C...Cav? What. The. Heck"

"We're getting up, idiota. Grabbing breakfast, then to the lounge before my final tests." Knowing she was in command, I nodded, getting up from the medical bed, offering a hand to Cav. "I'm fine idiota" she smirked, but accepting my help anyway.

"Just making sure." I chuckled. After checking in with Doc, who said Caveira was free to leave but needs to report back around 11 for her final medical tests, we strolled down to the mess hall for breakfast, holding hands the entire way down. Once we entered, we got our breakfast sandwiches, and went into the seating area. Cav then randomly planted a kiss on my cheek.

"I'll see you after breakfast, hot stuff" she laughed. I raised an eyebrow.

"We're not sitting together?" She sighed.

"Don't get me wrong, your group is amazing, it's just I don't need Valkyrie to tease me for anything." She smiled.

"I'm sure she won't-" Cav cut me off.

"Trust me, babe, it's fine. We'll work it out eventually. I'll meet you in the lounge after breakfast." With that, she planted a kiss on my cheek, and went to her usual table, sitting with Capitao, Frost, Buck, and Jackal. I chuckle at her, while I go and sit with my normal group.

"Where were you last night?" Maverick asked as soon as I sat down.

"Oh, uh, I was...erm...in the lounge" I fibbed.

"All night?" Maverick asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yep" I confirmed. Maverick didn't seem convinced.

"You do realize that Doc is sitting right next to you, right?" he asked. My eyes grew wide, and I looked to my right, only to see Doc waving and chuckling. Smirking, I playfully smack his arm.

"You told them, didn't you?" I asked.

"Don't know what you're talking about" Doc said, pretending to be stubborn.

"Yes you do, Doc, don't be stubborn" I smirked.

"What did he tell us?" Ash asked as she sat down. "If he said anything, I wasn't here to hear it."

"He didn't really say anything" Valkyrie laughed. I could swear she looked over at Caveira as she said that, but I didn't want to draw attention to it. I sighed.

"Face it kid. We know you weren't in the lounge." Maverick smirked. "Doc told us that much." I eyed Doc.

"Liar" I muttered. He chuckled, putting his hands up in surrender.

"Well kid? Where were you?" Montange asked.

"...medbay" I said quietly. This got me some worried looks from Ash and Maverick.

"You all good kid? What happened?" Maverick asked.

"He ran into a burning building yesterday. Of course he wouldn't be at 100 percent" Ash supplied, popping a strawberry into her mouth.

"What? No, no, I'm fine" I confirmed. "I was just making sure Caveira was healing alright. Ya know, since I ran into the burning building to save her? If she...if she didn't make it, I would feel like that's on me" I said in a hushed tone. After a second, Ash put a hand on my back.

"We all have times where we feel we could've done more. We all have regrets. But that's just what makes us human. Thank goodness she did make it out alive, though." She nodded. I smiled.

"Thanks, Ash" She nodded.

"I'll be able to discharge her later this afternoon" Doc spoke up. "She'll be good as new in about a week."

"See?" Ash told me. "It all worked out. Besides-" Ash leaned in so her mouth was next to my ear. "-I personally think you two are cute together" She leans away smirking, leaving me a blushing mess as I finish my breakfast. We talk about other things for half an hour, when we all get up to leave. I say goodbye to everyone, and head over to the lounge to meet up with Cav. When I enter, I see her laying on one of the couches, arms folded behind her head, eyes closed. I slowly approached her when she spoke up.

"Took you long enough, idiota" she smirked, opening an eye, looking at me. I chuckled, and sat down next to her. She immediately switched positions so she was sitting up, laying her head on my shoulder.

"Yeah, well, I was hungry" I joked, wrapping my arm around her shoulders. She laughed, planting a kiss on my cheek. I leaned forward, grabbing the TV remote from the table, and turning on the TV. As soon as the TV turned on, Cav snatched the remote from my hand, smirking. "Hey!" I protested.

"If we're gonna watch a movie or a show, then I'm picking." she commanded. I sighed, and shrugged.

"Fair enough" I decided. Chuckling, Cav flicked through Nextflix. After about five minutes, she finally settled on a show. "Good pick." Cav looked at me and frowned.

"Have you seen this show before?" she asked. I laughed, shaking my head.

"Don't worry, I haven't. I've heard it's really good though. Plus, it's Marvel, so it's bound to be decent" I shrugged. Cav eyed me for a second, then smiled.

"Fair point" she concluded, putting on the first episode. I wrapped my arms around her waist, and lay down on the couch, her falling into place on top of me. She nuzzled into my chest, smiling. "I love you Y/N"

"I love you too, Cav."

-3rd person POV-

Little to Caveira and Eir's knowledge, they were being watched from the entrance of the lounge.

"Mission accomplished" Ash whispered, fist bumping Doc. "I knew those two were perfect together."

"Okay, Aphrodite" Doc chuckled, earning a smirk from Ash. Ash and Doc smiled again at the beautiful sight before them: Caveira finally found someone to call her own. She found someone who loved her back, someone who would protect her, and love her. Someone who wasn't afraid of her tough, but rather thin, outer shell. Since Caveira's arrival at Team Rainbow, Ash found out that she was pretty closed off, and she made it her personal mission to find her a significant other. Now, that mission was accomplished, and Ash felt a sense of accomplishment. A feeling she knew all too well, and that was a good thing. Smiling, she and Doc turned and left the young, happy couple to their show.

"We'll be seeing a whole new side of Caveira now" Ash spoke. Doc nodded.

"Indeed. All she needed was someone to love. Though, if you ask me, Agents of Shield is a way better show than Daredevil" Ash froze up right there, and gave Doc a death stare.

"We now have something else to fight about"

Well that's it! That's the end of the first installment of this franchise! I have a second installment in the works as well as more one shots so stay tuned! For now though peace out!
