Author's Note:

We're finally here! This is where there will be drastic changes to the original scenario. I did my best to make the events flow according to my plot but I hope that I did not make them too OOC.

Chapter 7: You should watch your words or else you might end up eating them someday

Kamui saw something in the corner of his eye while he was charging towards Housen but did not pay it any attention. Whoever dared to interrupt his fight might as well die. But he did not expect the interruption to come from above, the force of the attack completely overpowered his charge and slammed him down on the roof. A small crater formed on the point of impact as the roof absorbed some of the force behind the attack.

"Long time no see, Onii-chan~"

The familiar voice and the form of address made his eyes widen in surprise as he was contemplating killing the interrupter would not be a bad idea. The teasing voice and sudden touch on his spine as she run her finger on it was uncomfortable so he immediately got up to throw her off his back. She just obediently rolled off before standing next to him. He observed her for a few moments before confirming his suspicion. Even if he had not seen her for more than 8 years, he could not possibly mistake her for another person.

"What are you doing in a place like this?" Kamui asked while dusting himself off. He accumulated some dust and rubble on his clothes during the fight. He now realized that Housen was referring to her earlier. He was thinking how to get rid of this person.

"To meet you."

"I already told you. I am not interested in weaklings."

"Is that so? Then what do you call someone who was made to kiss the floor by this weakling?" She then asked cheekily.

"Don't get so happy just because you landed a sneak attack."

"But that still doesn't change the fact." She firmly stated her point and puffed out her chest. "Anyway starting today, I will be joining Harusame too. Please take care of me in the future, 7th Captain Kamui." She said as she performed a formal bow to her future superior.

"NO!" Kamui immediately shouted his objection then followed it up calmly. "You're just going to be a burden. If you want to play house, you should just find that baldy."

"I'm not going to be a burden! I don't care about that baldy anymore. After mami died, he came less and less and…" She was clenching her fist tightly and cut off her own words not wanting to continue. "Ahem. I just want to stay by your side."

"…" Kamui was speechless. It was like a custody case wherein he won without even being present. He calmed himself down and replied. "I don't have time nor any interest to babysit you. Go find someone else."

"You don't need to babysit me! I am not the same Kagura that could only watch your back as you left! I will definitely not let you leave alone."

"I don't need you."

"…"

"…"

"You unilaterally decided to leave home. So I also unilaterally decided to follow with you." She boldly declared these words then changed into a more playful tone and continued. "Didn't you feel lonely that Housen-sama was living freely in his retirement? I said that I'll go and accompany you. Be grateful!"

"What?! Who said such a thing?" Kamui grabbed her collar and pulled her close flabbergasted that his words were interpreted that way.

"What?! Isn't that what you meant?!" Kagura also held his collar and pulled him down.

'Certainly if you only read between the lines, Kamui's words could be interpreted that way. But to say that directly to his face, this girl has some spunk.' The ash haired pirate with Jiraiya's voice contemplated in his head as the siblings continue to bicker.

"I said that if you want an opponent that can go head on with you, I can be that person. Although I wouldn't go as far as claiming to be stronger than you. I am at least stronger than some of those guys outside."

"How stupid. I am losing interest." Kamui finally let go of her collar and turned away to cross his arms.

"Then why don't we test it right here and now? I'm gonna show you that I did not spend my last five years here in vain." Kagura replied to Kamui as she took her stance. Kamui opened his eyes surprised by the length of time she had stayed here to wait for him but he still could not back down. So he took his own stance and prepared for a fight.

"Aaahhh! Stop! Please don't start another fight! Let's talk it out, right?" The ash brown haired guy rushed up and stood between the two, raised his arms and turned to each side trying to persuade them.

"Don't butt in!" Both Kamui and Kagura said simultaneously and threw a punch at his stomach.

"Guh!" The ash brown haired pirate made this sound before he was sent flying. Both Kamui and Kagura did not punch him seriously so he was relatively fine but he was still sent flying. 'Aren't you both on perfect sync?' He thought as he crashed into Ungyou and they broke another wall.

As the ash brown haired pirate flew, he unconsciously closed his palm accidentally clutching Kagura's veil to reveal her hip length vermillion hair and ocean blue eyes which was exactly the same shade as their captain's. She looked too alike with him that the relation is undeniable but her expression seemed more innocent that his. She had on a determined look on her face and it did not seem that she will back down. But the same goes for Kamui, they made eye contact and they started fighting. Housen just watched them on the sidelines with an attitude of seeing the future of their race in these two youngsters.

'Aaahhh! It already started.' The ash brown haired pirate opened his eyes to this scene. He observed them and noted that both were just testing each other and haven't gotten serious. He looked back at Ungyou who finally got up and stopped him from interfering.

"It will be fine... probably. It's Captain's real sister."

"But vice-captain!" Ungyou complained as he watched them duke it out.

They were slowly starting to get serious as each attack came faster and sharper. They looked to be at the same level at first but soon the gap between the two could be seen. The gap of the length of the limbs, weight, pure strength and experience. Kagura also realized this so she deliberately left an opening to goad him to throw her a kick on the side allowing her to stab a kunai on his right shin where Housen dug his fingers before. Although she achieved her objective of making him bleed, she flew crashing inside the building as a consequence of receiving his kick.

Kamui was genuinely surprised by her actions. After a few moments, she emerged from the building but she was walking stiffly while supporting her side. She smirked at him when she saw him bleed profusely when he pulled out the kunai. When Kamui saw her smirking at him, he felt provoked so he threw the kunai at her. She leapt to dodge it and at the same time utilized it to perform a drop kick at him.

Such a simple and straight forward attack was easy to dodge for Kamui even with his injured leg. He moved out the way and took a step back before stepping forward to punch her. She was prepared for this outcome and was going to perform a counterpunch.

"Enough!" Housen shouted at them before either punch connected. "If you want to continue fighting, go somewhere else. Stop destroying my place." Both pairs of blue eyes looked at him.

"But we haven't settled anything yet?!" Kagura easily voiced her complaint as she reluctantly moved away from Kamui.

"It's already enough. You managed to land a hit on him." Housen pointed out.

Kamui remembered that it was the exact same way he was admitted many years ago. He also deliberately took a hit to land his own. As expected, the blood that that runs in their veins are one and the same.

"Anyway its enough, isn't it?" Housen smirked at Kamui knowing what he was thinking.

"Well, I admit that she was stronger than I expected but… I still won't take her with me." Kamui answered his master but directed the latter half to Kagura.

"Why?! BaKamui!" Kagura shouted at Kamui while she was clutching his collar and pulling him down.

"Because you're a stupid sister." Kamui quipped while holding her wrist trying to make her let go of his collar.

"Why you?!"

Judging from the situation, they looked like they are going to start the second round anytime soon.

"Stop!" Housen shouted at them again.

"Hmph! Whether you want to or not I'm definitely coming with you." Kagura has been living under Housen's care so she backed down and let go of Kamui's collar but firmly stated her stand.

"I also agree to her joining. It's better than letting her first class potential rot here." The ash brown haired pirate interrupted and placed his vote.

"Shut up, Abuto. Or I'll kill you."

"Kill me if you want. But can you still call yourself a pirate if you cannot abduct one sister?" Abuto reasoned with him.

"…" Kamui couldn't retort as he remembered that these were his own words from that time and now it was being used against him. "Fine. Do what you want. Even if you regret it in the future, it is not my fault." He finally relented.

"YES!" Kagura made a guts pose as she finally achieved her 5 yearlong goal. "Thank you, Abuto!" She rushed towards him, held both of his hands and swung it up and down.

"It's nothing much. I'll be in your care in the future." Abuto noted the lack of honorifics and pulled back his hands. He already made plans on using this girl to control their captain's misbehavior in the future.

"?!" Kagura was confused by the last sentence and gave him a head tilt. She did not understand it but Housen was able to read between the lines and understood Abuto's intention as he thought to himself that this vice-captain was more capable of handling Kamui than himself. Then he remembered that Abuto was the foot soldier that Kamui was attacking on their first meeting and looked out for him until he acclimated to the pirate life.

"By the way, why were you late earlier?" Housen asked intending to scold her. It was part of her responsibilities to receive guests but she was not present.

"Yes!" Kagura stood up straight and faced her now previous employer as she answered. "As soon as I finished the preparation for the banquet, I fixed my luggage and took care of the other stuff but… I got my clothes dirty so I took a bath and changed my clothes." Her voice went smaller at the end of her sentence. "I wanted to make a good first impression for our reunion after a long time." She whispered guiltily as she clutched the hem of her sleeve but due to the silence it was still heard by the other four men on the roof.

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

'I think you already ruined it for dropping on his back and making him kiss the roof as your greeting.' Abuto thought to himself.

"Hoh… So you were late because you were preparing to receive your beloved brother?" Housen asked in a teasing tone. "But if you were even later, maybe you won't have any brother to receive anymore…" He changed his tone to a scolding one. Even if she was just being honest with her own desires, she should still have the propriety to act according to her role.

"I know. I'm sorry…" Kagura obediently admitted her guilt as the situation earlier really looked dangerous. "But I didn't expect that you guys will get into a fight!" She reasoned out. "I already went here as fast as I was called over. I haven't even finish tying up my hair." True to her words, her hair was left loose and there was even a part on the right side that was sticking out.

"Your hair is sticking out." Kamui amusedly made a comment.

"Huh?! Why did you just say it now?" Kagura tried to fix it but was doing it in the totally wrong direction.

"Not there. It's here." Kamui came closer until he was standing in front of her. He placed a hand on her shoulder while the other tried to smooth out the part that was sticking up.

Kagura was surprised by the sudden touch on her hair but then excluded an aura of happiness as he fixed her hair. Her caring brother who turned delinquent due to some issues finally turned back to her. Even though it was only due to force of habit, it still wasn't a bad outcome. She just had to work harder in the future.

"Stupid sister." Kamui read her thoughts like a book and muttered under his breath. This child was like goldfish poop. It wouldn't break off no matter how hard he tried to drive it away. He did not really mean to reconcile with her. It was sticking out so he just felt like fixing it. As they say, old habits die hard. But he could not stop now as that would be very unnatural behavior. He could still smell the faint scent of the shampoo she used as he carefully ran his fingers through her tresses.

Ungyou and Abuto got front seats at this heartwarming scene. They felt embarrassed to be intruding on it and wanted to retreat on the other side. Housen who was also watching laid down his worries for Kamui because with her at his side he will probably not end up with nothing at all unlike himself.

"KKKRRR!" The roof made a few more creaking sounds as the cracks spread before breaking off and making a faint crashing sound as it fell to the ground. The cause was most likely that drop kick Kagura did. Kamui's hand on her hair closed as he flashed a grin before letting it down. He gave her a pat on the head before moving away.

"Ahem. Well, now that one issue is settled. Let's talk about our original goal. We didn't exactly come here to start a war with you. We just came to try to build up a better relationship with you." Abuto came to his senses and explained the original purpose of their visit.

"Why don't you be honest and say that you want this city?"

"The elders are scared. As former comrades of the Night King, we know very well how scary you are. Those geezers want proof that you won't betray them."

"Some comrades they are. Coming to extort an old retired man living his days in peace." Housen replied mocking those old fools. "I've lost my interest."

"Boss Housen." Abuto tried to open the talk again.

"Do whatever you want with my money and business. Such things are of no use to me right now. However, if you ever try to take this city, my country…" He looked back and smirked. "You shall all see the true face of the Night King!"

"I'm the one who's lost my interest. You care so much about this toy you've created? Then you can just stay here until you dry up and die. You are not even worth killing." Kamui said his piece and walked outside of the room with Kagura at his tail. She seemed to want to say something but held back her words and silently followed after her brother. After a moment, his two subordinates also followed him out of the room.

"Dry up and die? I've dried up a long time ago. I've long been unable to bathe in the sunlight and yet why do I have such thirst?" Alone in the room, Housen scornfully laughed as he contemplated while looking at the metal sky which he had built to protect him from the sunlight.
