12:53 P.M. – Beverly Hills

("The Journey Starts Today" by Walk Off the Earth plays)

She looked ahead of herself, double-checking her phone to make sure everything was still going as planned.

Nodding to herself as she once again looked at the text message that was the whole reason for her trip, she continued walking at a brisk pace.

She was used to walking this far from her house to the high school. After all, she did so practically every day, especially when it came to her time with the school track team.

Seriously, what is with Zoey constantly calling me their secret weapon? she thought. What about that time they had to face SoCal without me and they still won?

After a bit, she slipped on her headphones and flipped through her phone's selection of songs, eventually finding one she liked and playing it.

Eventually, she came across her target destination, the track field of Beverly Hills High School.

There wasn't actually a track team meeting today (as noted by the complete absence of Zoey, who was on this field more often than she was), but this was the place where he'd requested they meet.

In all honesty, she was excited. Just about two weeks ago, she'd gotten a text message from her old middle school friend (thanks to Kikki giving him her number) and he wanted to meet up again and reconnect.

Naturally, her mom had been pretty surprised, until she recognized him, then she was incredibly accepting. She knew her mom was just worried, after all, especially after what had happened with her cousin.

Noting that she was still a good couple minutes early to the time they'd specified for the meetup, she leaned against the nearby football goalpost and began bopping back and forth to the beat of the song she was listening to.

She knew he'd be here soon, even if he was a couple minutes late. Apparently, he wasn't as good a runner as he used to be.

That's what you get for not keeping up, she giggled to herself as she waited for him to show up, doing her best to keep her excitement in check.

Mat49324 and The Blue Time Ranger are proud to present:

Totally Spies! the Movie: Beyond the Looking Glass HD Remix
Story Rated: T for Teen

Story Created: October 16th, 2020

Story Summary: The twenty-sixth joint project between Mat49324 and The Blue Time Ranger, collectively known as Totally Spies: The New Adventures. It seems like any normal day in the city of Beverly Hills, but for the agents of W.O.O.H.P., 'normal' is forever a relative term. One day, Alex is kidnapped by one of the spies' most heinous foes, but what seems like a simple rescue mission is only the beginning of a long series of challenges and trials. Was there a reason Tim Scam wanted to kidnap Alex? Is there someone else behind this new sinister scheme? And what villains will the spies face off with in their quest to find answers? Ultimately, one can only uncover so much by gazing beyond the looking glass...

Author's Notes from Mat49324: Well, folks... we've made it to our "movie" fic! After we got through an EPIC S2 finale in It's About Time, we're set to begin our "movie" fic. We hope you enjoyed the entire season 2 which was our version of the TV series Season 5 since the spies did advance to Malibu University. This remix of Beyond the Looking Glass came to be when Nick told me he felt the final battle with Terrence was something not very well thought of, but he could explain that better than I could. Anyway, I'll also say that when we originally made this fic, it was in August 2005, so we will be going with that as the setting in this fic for extra authenticity – that means around late S3 early S4. The one thing that's NOT going to happen is what happened back then – it took us about TWO YEARS to finish and it was about halfway through that time when I'd begun to lose interest in Totally Spies and began to move to writing fics for Detective Conan/Case Closed. One thing's for sure: this WILL NOT take us two years to finish this, but there IS a chance that we may see three separate missions like we saw in the original Beyond the Looking Glass. Anyway, we hope you enjoy our 26th project together.

Author's Notes from The Blue Time Ranger: It's just that feeling of knowing you can do so much better than fourteen years ago that drove us during Music Monster Much? HD Remix, and now, here we are, once again revisiting the past with another HD Remix of an old story! This is a remake of Beyond the Looking Glass, the second co-op story Mat and I wrote, once again in the far-off year of 2005. And man, what a mess that was. Computer troubles, family drama, and so much other bullcrap contributed to the nearly two years we spent getting it done. But that won't be happening this time. One last note before we get started: as this one is going to be our movie, this story's most likely going to be longer than three episodes, given how long the original lasted. I'm thinking maybe six or seven, maybe more depending on how much we expand on the original's events. But I think I've rambled long enough. Sit back, get some popcorn or whatever movie snacks you prefer, and let the main event begin!

And Now, the Obligatory Disclaimer: Mat49324 and The Blue Time Ranger do not own anything related to Totally Spies or any of its affiliations. It belongs solely to Marathon Media Group, Image Entertainment Corporation, Vincent Chalvon-Demersay, and David Michel. The only things of this story we DO own are any characters created by us truly for the story (in this case, Nick, Haruka, Bridget, May, Nozomi, Dawn, and Melissa on my side, and Mathew on his side). Any characters or things we don't own, we are just borrowing with no intent of copyright infringement, only for the entertainment of our readers. Besides, if we did own Totally Spies, which we don't, why would we be writing fiction on a fan site?

Episode 1: Collision Course

1:00 P.M. – Spies' Beach House

It was a nice sunny day in Beverly Hills at the spies' beach house. Currently, all six spies (Sam, Clover, Alex, Mat, Nick, and Haruka) were outside at their backyard swimming pool having some fun.

"All right, Alex," Nick called out as he held a football. "You ready to get this started?"

"Bring it on!" Alex exclaimed.

The idea was that Nick would throw the football, Alex would run and jump to catch it before taking a dip in the pool.

"Okay, then," Nick proclaimed. "Heads up, girl!"

Alex, clad in her yellow starfish bikini, stood at the glass window. She then got a running start, and Nick threw the football.

"Go get it, Alex!" Clover shouted.

Alex jumped at the pool's edge to catch Nick's football. She caught it and splashed in the pool.

"Nice catch, Alex!" Sam commented just after Alex resurfaced.

"Thanks, Sammy," Alex giggled.

She threw the football back to Nick and got out of the pool.

"Seems like a great week coming up for us," Mat told the group. "We're doing this, AND I've also determined a good day for you to see me ride."

"You got that right, bro," Nick replied. "Plus, I think I have someone coming in soon, too."

"Oh?" Clover asked.

Sam was next to take her turn.

"Okay, heads up, Sam," Nick called out.

Sam went to the same spot Alex was. She wore her old green one-piece swimsuit that was backless and showed her curves. She got a running start and Nick threw the football in the air. Sam jumped and caught it before she splashed in the pool herself.

"Nice one!" Mat commented as Sam resurfaced.

Clover was next; she was in her blue triangular bikini. She caught the football herself; Mat and Haruka were no different.

"Let me do you, Nick," Alex replied.

Alex tossed the football in a spiraling motion, hoping to catch Nick off guard, but he still caught it, though not without doing a flip right back into the pool.

"And he scores!" Haruka shouted.

After a good hour, the spies had worked up an appetite. Nick opted to head out for a bit while Alex had to use the bathroom.

"So, what's the word with us seeing you ride your bike, Mat?" Haruka asked while they enjoyed some TV.

"This I gotta hear," Clover stated. "You prove time and time again how you've been around the block with your Supercross series, buddy."

Sam, overhearing this, sat next to her boyfriend.

"It's a new experience for all of us; if you say you've been riding for as long as you have been, I'm inclined to see if you live up to that mantra."

"Well, I'm just learning a 4-stroke," Mat pointed out. "But I've watched this technique to start a 4-stroke if you stall it very carefully."

"I thought you said they were around since the late '90s, Mat," Haruka stated.

"They have," Mat replied. "Doug Henry won the '97 Vegas finale on a 400cc 4-stroke Yamaha after all. What everyone in the racing world is getting at is that 4-strokes have taken over the 125cc class in Supercross with the 250F since KTM introduced their 250F in 2005."

"So, everyone's on a 4-stroke in that class?" Haruka wondered.

"Yeah, pretty much," Mat chuckled. "Hangtown 2005 saw the first ever Motocross race with no 125 2-strokes in the 125cc class."

"Speaking of 'everyone,'" Haruka pointed out. "Anybody seen Alex and Nick?"

"Well, I know Nick said he was going to meet someone at the high school," Clover quipped. "But I'm not quite sure about Alex..."

"You think she went back to her room for whatever reason?" Mat asked. "Maybe she's not hungry right now."

Before Sam could put in her own two cents, the oven opened up all on its own, and four long claws reached out from the oven to snatch all four of the spies and yank them inside of it.

"Well, so much for food!" Haruka shouted as the four of them fell through the large steel tunnels until they eventually landed in a large pile, though safely on a cushion, in the office of their boss, Jerry.

"Good afternoon, spies," Jerry proclaimed. "I trust the ride went smoothly as always?"

"At least you give us something nice and soft to land on," Clover admitted as the spies got to their feet and used their X-Powders (a modified Game Boy Advance SP in Mat's case) to change into their spy suits. "My keester just can't handle all of these falls sometimes."

"I'm surprised Alex isn't here," Sam realized.

Jerry cleared his throat, catching the spies' attention. "That... is precisely why I have summoned you here today, spies," Jerry proclaimed. "GLADIS, if you will?"

GLADIS, the Gadget Lending And Distributing Interactive System, waved its robotic arms towards the viewscreen in the office, which now showed a mugshot of Tim Scam, one of the spies' most heinous foes.

"Oh, not him again," Sam groaned.

"Wait, what does he want with Alex?!" Mat shouted.

"That's precisely what you're going to find out," Jerry explained. "Before you head out, though, I wish to summon another agent to help you all out for this mission, considering Scam's list of crimes."

"More backup against this whacko would definitely be appreciated," Clover quipped.

"Just allow me to summon them," Jerry stated, reaching over to press a button on his desk.

1:07 P.M. – Beverly Hills High School

Nick glanced around the sports field, trying to find his target. After all, she only said she'd be on the field, not where exactly on the field she was.

"Maybe I should have been a little more specific," Nick sighed until he looked towards the football goalpost and saw her leaning against it, bopping her head back and forth to whatever song she was listening to. "But hey, serendipity is travels, as I always say."

Nick quickly crossed the field towards the girl in question, who was about his age with shoulder-length dark green hair, blue eyes, and glasses. After a few seconds, Nick tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention.

"Bridget?" Nick asked.

Bridget Taylor's eyes snapped open quickly when she saw who had just addressed her, her smile growing quickly.

"Oh, wow, Nick, is that really you?" Bridget gasped as she stuffed her phone back in her pocket, then lunged forward to hug Nick.

"Who else would it be?" Nick teased.

"Look at you," Bridget giggled. "You grew up pretty quickly, huh?"

"My girlfriend tells me the same thing," Nick answered.

"Ooh, we've got a story already!" Bridget laughed. "Come on, Nick, tell me what you've been up to in the past three years."

With that, Nick and Bridget began to walk around the field, sharing stories of what they'd each been doing since the last time they saw each other.

"So, needless to say, my little brother's no longer allowed at that petting zoo," Bridget stated.

"Ouch," Nick quipped. "Almost reminds me of the time that Haruka nearly got yanked from the photography club when she snapped a picture of the club president in a compromising position."

"...even though all he was doing was kissing his girlfriend?" Bridget wondered.

"He was very paranoid, let's put it that way," Nick laughed.

Before Bridget could ask Nick about his girlfriend, they both heard a beep as they walked by the fusebox next to the giant scoreboard. A second later, the fusebox opened to reveal a large metal tube aimed right for them.

"Oh, crapbaskets," was all Nick and Bridget had time to say as the tube sucked them into it.

After about twenty seconds of falling, Nick and Bridget landed on the cushion inside the office, where Jerry was waiting for them.

"Do you even know the meaning of 'subtle', Jerry?" Bridget groaned as she picked herself up.

"Methinks he doesn't," Nick quipped, only to just then realize that Bridget had been summoned alongside him. "W-wait, Bridget, what are you doing here?"

"...I guess that cat's out of the bag, huh?" Bridget giggled as she used her X-Powder to change into her bright, emerald-green spy catsuit. "Yup, I'm an agent of W.O.O.H.P., just like you, apparently."

"What a way to find out, eh?" Nick laughed, only to stop when he noticed Haruka staring intently at the both of them, unsure if she wanted to be angry or not. "Um... Haruka, what's with that face?"

"Okay, Nick, two questions," Haruka proclaimed rather sternly. "First off, who is this girl, and second, you're not cheating on Alex, are you?"

"S-Seriously?!" Nick shouted, utterly in disbelief that Haruka would ever think that. "Haruka, where is this coming from?! Didn't you even read the note I left for you guys?!"

"Well, we did get summoned before we could find any notes," Sam admitted. "All you told us was that you were going to meet someone."

"And allow me to clear that air up before she pins my keester to the wall," Bridget stated. "My name's Bridget Taylor, and I'm an old friend of Nick's from middle school. And before you ask, yes, I know Nick's got a girlfriend, and I'm not gonna try and 'swoop in'."

Haruka suddenly gasped in recognition after a few seconds. "Wait, you were Nick's buddy from the track team, right?" Haruka asked. "Oof, now I really feel bad for jumping to conclusions..."

"It was bound to happen eventually," Nick responded, only to then notice that someone wasn't in the office with them. "Um, guys, where's Alex?"

"Apparently, Tim Scam kidnapped her," Mat replied.

"Okay, now he's really asking for it," Nick growled, and the rest of the spies could easily hear the anger in his voice. It was no secret to everyone here that Nick despised Tim Scam fiercely due to said villain being responsible for the death of his parents a couple years ago. "Jerry, GLADIS, gadget us up!"

"Roger that, spies," Jerry proclaimed.

Once the spies were outfitted with everything they would need, Jerry snapped his fingers and sent the spies into a nearby Skyskimmer so they could take off for South America, Scam's last known coordinates.

Hold on, Alex, Nick thought. We're coming.

"So," Bridget started. "Who's who?"

"Oh, that's right," Nick replied. "The one in the red is Clover – the boy-crazy shop-a-holic – the one in green is Sam – the intellect – and that's her boyfriend Mathew next to her, but we've been calling him 'Mat' lately; apparently he doesn't mind it."

"I take either one," Mat stated.

"Noted," Bridget quipped. "Nice to meet you all."

"Likewise," Clover replied.

"You'll find out more about us after the mission," Haruka told Bridget.

"Anyway, we gotta get to wherever Alex is and save her," Nick proclaimed.

Jerry then appeared on the small radar screen.

"Spies, W.O.O.H.P.'s satellites have determined that Tim Scam has taken Alex down to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil," Jerry stated.

"Down in Rio, eh?" Nick wondered.

"Yes," Jerry answered. "I've programmed the coordinates to your X-Powders and Mat's SP."

"Great, thanks, Jer," Clover quipped.

With that, the spies landed the Skyskimmer and got out one by one.

"Now, we gotta find Alex," Sam proclaimed.

3:10 P.M. – Somewhere in Rio

The spies moved on out to try rescue Alex. Clover struck up a conversation just to release a little tension.

"So, Bridget, you wanna tell us how you know Nick and Haruka?" Clover wondered.

"I actually first met Nick about three years ago," Bridget explained. "He came to watch the track team race, and I guess he was intrigued by how I pretty much left all those guys in the dust."

"Bridget here is really fast," Nick stated. "So much so that the track team apparently has her as their trump card."

"And I keep telling Zoey not to call me that," Bridget sighed. "Either way, we hit it off pretty quickly, but my family and I had to leave Beverly Hills for a while because of personal family drama. Naturally, when I came back about three months ago, I rejoined the track team, and it's been basically like nothing ever changed."

Haruka cut in with a brief apology to Nick for the conclusion she jumped to earlier at W.O.O.H.P.

"Right now, Bridget's the only one in her family if my memory is correct," Nick explained, and looked at Bridget to see if he was right.

"Right now, it's just me and my mom," Bridget answered. "I don't really remember my dad, to be honest."

Bridget then turned to Sam and Mat.

"How'd you two come to be?" Bridget asked.

"Well, Mat's originally from Hawaii and after his parents went back home, he wanted to stay behind since we really liked each other," Sam explained.

"That's pretty much what happened," Mat replied. "I guess we instantly liked each other, though I do my best to try to not come between them like some other boys did before."

"He's doing that so far," Clover replied.

"And on that note," Nick added. "We're planning to go and see him ride this weekend."

"Ride a horse, you mean?" Bridget asked.

"No, no horses," Mat replied. "Motorcycle – I've ridden since I was 8. I'd like to think I'm OK, but I didn't go for a pro career."

"I get it," Bridget stated.

"Too bad you won't get to see this happen," went another voice.

The spies saw it was Tim Scam in the flesh.

"Tim Scam?!" Mat chastised.

"You tell us where Alex is!" Clover demanded.

"Oh, but where would the fun be in that?" Scam laughed.

"I'm only going to warn you once, Scam," Nick growled, shifting into a fighting stance. "Either you tell me where my girlfriend is right now, or I'm gonna waltz over there and make you tell me. And trust me, you don't want that."

"Am I supposed to be intimidated, boy?" Scam cackled.

Nick's response was a flying kick to the side of Scam's head that sent him tumbling backwards.

"Ouch," Bridget quipped.

"Well deserved, IMO," Clover stated.

As Scam picked himself up, Nick aimed a Wind Tunnel 9000 for his face, his anger obvious.

"Now what did you do with Alex?!" Nick shouted.

"I can see you're going to be a stubborn little brat," Scam responded. "If you must know, she's locked up in my secret base. I'll tell you what I plan to do with her when you find the base... if you can find it, that is!"

Laughing all the way, Scam quickly retreated, though Haruka managed to slip a tracking device on his back without him noticing.

"Why do they always leave when we're kicking their butts?" Bridget wondered.

"It's a common thing, really," Haruka responded as she opened her X-Powder to scan for Scam's location. "Rules for villains, number seven: never show weakness, even if you're clearly getting destroyed."

"...wait, there are rules for villains?" Bridget asked. "Did I skip a meeting or something?"

"Oh, it's just this thing Haruka and I have been doing ever since we joined W.O.O.H.P.," Nick answered as the spies set off for the location of Scam's base. "We've seen baddies do certain things a lot, almost like it's some unspoken rule that relates to their schemes. So Haruka and I decided to compile a list of those rules together and basically see how many we can come up with."

"How many did you come up with so far?" Sam wondered.

"We're up to almost sixty," Haruka quipped.

"SIXTY?!" Sam, Mat, Clover, and Bridget shouted.

"Yeah, I can't believe it either," Nick laughed.

Eventually, the spies came across what definitely appeared to be Tim Scam's base, deep in the forests of Rio.

"Um, totally not suspicious," Clover proclaimed.

"That's why we should probably be wary when we move in," Nick stated. "Let's split up into teams and try to find our way in."

"Good idea," Mat replied.

And so, the group split up, with Sam and Mat going one way, Haruka and Clover going another, and Nick and Bridget taking a third path.

"So, from what I can tell, you've been with W.O.O.H.P. for a while, huh?" Bridget asked.

"Probably about the same amount of time as you," Nick answered. "For a while, it was just Haruka and I, until we found the girls in trouble on a mission and we decided to help them out. We've been part of the circle ever since."

"Must be nice," Bridget stated. "I've been a solo agent until now. Say... you seemed really angry at Scam earlier. I know he's one of W.O.O.H.P.'s more heinous superbads, but... you seemed extra pissed at him earlier."

"There's... a reason for that," Nick sighed.

As Nick told the story, Bridget couldn't help but gasp in all the right places as she learned why he hated Scam more than anyone else in the group.

Unable to help herself, Bridget gave Nick a hug when they were finished, as she figured having to relive the memory of his parents' death was still hard on him.

"Thanks, Bridget," Nick quipped. "I needed that."

"Always happy to be a friend," Bridget replied. "Now let's get down there and start kicking all the butts."

With that said, Nick and Bridget continued investigating the forest until they eventually found a large steel wall, no doubt part of Scam's fortress.

"Well, I think we found our way in," Bridget teased. "So, how exactly do we get in there?"

Nick grinned as he took a step back, his right hand glowing a bright green. "Oh, I'm cooking up something," Nick stated. "FINAL SHINE ATTACK!"

Before Bridget could ask, Nick thrust his right hand forward to unleash a bright neon-green burst of energy that effortlessly sliced through the steel wall, carving an entrance into the fortress for them.

When he saw Bridget's eyes sparkling, Nick couldn't help but chuckle. "I take it you're impressed?" Nick asked.

"THAT WAS SO COOL!" Bridget exclaimed. "How'd you learn to do that?!"

"Long story," Nick answered. "But right now, I think we need to hightail it in there. Alex is waiting for me, after all."

"And we're gonna give Scam some lumps for taking your girlfriend away from you, right?" Bridget proclaimed.

"Oh, you freakin' know it," Nick stated.

Once inside, Nick and Bridget took stock of their current location, knowing that Scam most likely had some traps waiting for them.

And sure enough, parts of the floor on the path ahead fell downwards, creating a bit of a platforming gauntlet.

"Okay, that might be a problem," Bridget quipped.

"How about we just take the express way?" Nick responded, his body glowing a bright golden yellow as he raised his hand to envelop Bridget's body in that same glow.

After a second, Nick began floating in the air, as did Bridget, using his psychic power to float safely over the trap-filled floor.

Once on the other side, Nick set Bridget down before blasting the nearby door down with a quick blast. Nick glanced back at Bridget, and again chuckled at how impressed she was by his psychic powers.

"Seriously, that is amazing!" Bridget laughed. "Are you, like, a psychic or something?"

"Something to that effect," Nick replied. "I don't think Scam accounted for me having these powers."

"Here's hoping the others are doing all right," Bridget proclaimed as she and Nick continued to make their way deeper into the base.

"You and me both," Nick replied to Bridget.

"They should be though, right?" Bridget wondered.

"I don't trust Tim Scam in the slightest," Nick responded. "I mean, you see what he tried to do to us, right?"

"Good point," Bridget admitted.

4:22 P.M. – Another Part of Rio

The other four spies split off together.

"Any idea where they could be?" Mat asked Sam.

Sam was looking at her X-Powder trying to get a reading.

"Not yet," Sam stated. "And this is one big rainforest, that's for sure."

"Big rainforest is right, Sammy," Clover chastised. "If we don't find Alex soon, my hair is gonna look like I just got out of bed in the morning..."

The other spies groaned at Clover's statement.

"Rules for villains, number fifty-eight," Haruka quipped. "Use a location with the most questionable atmosphere."

"That's a good one," Mat commented.

The spies continued to move forward.

"Hey, check this out," Clover stated when she found something on the ground.

It turned out to be Alex's X-Powder.

"Uh-oh," Mat replied. "If Alex's X-Powder is here, we might've hit a dead end."

Sam's X-Powder, which she programmed to track Alex's X-Powder was beeping like crazy.

"Not sure where we go from here now," Haruka commented.

"Maybe Jerry might be able to have an answer," Mat suggested.

"That's a good idea," Clover remarked.

Sam used her X-Powder to phone Jerry.

"Maybe he can also analyze this stuff on Alex's X-Powder, too," Mat replied, noticing some black soot on there.

"I wonder what that black soot is," Sam wondered.

"I'm no traveling nomad," Mat quipped. "But since when does a rainforest have black soot?"

"That's a good question," Haruka stated as Jerry's visage appeared on Sam's X-Powder.

"How's the mission, spies?" Jerry wondered. "Have you located Alex?"

"No," Sam answered. "But Mat found her X-Powder and some black soot on it."

"Oh my..." Jerry chastised.

"I know Nick's not gonna like Tim Scam even more now after this..." Clover groaned.

Mat even put some of the black soot on Sam's X-Powder to send to Jerry for analysis.

"Hopefully that will point us in the right direction to lead to Alex and Tim Scam," Haruka replied.

"Plus I'm pretty certain that black soot doesn't belong in a rain forest," Mat added.

Jerry used his scanner back in his office at W.O.O.H.P. to determine what the black soot was.

"It appears your hunch is correct, Mat," Jerry stated.

"So, what is it then?" Sam asked.

"It appears to be from a machine of sorts," Jerry proclaimed. "No doubt whatever Scam has planned."

"And more importantly... what do we do now since we found Alex's X-Powder, but no Alex?" Haruka wondered.

"Guess we'll have to keep looking," Sam replied. "And hope we can find her before Scam can fulfill his sick ambitions."

"Knowing Nick, if there's even one hair out of place on Alex's head, Scam's gonna wish he never challenged us," Haruka stated. "Now come on, I think I saw something suspicious over that-a-way!"

Thankfully, it didn't take much longer for the six spies to all meet back up in a large, circular room that seemed to be Scam's control center.

"Well, did any of you find Alex?" Bridget asked.

"Just her X-Powder, sadly," Mat replied, handing Alex's X-Powder off to Nick.

"Can't Nick do, like, a sweep of the base with his psychic powers?" Clover asked. "I'd think that's something you could do."

"It's not perfect, Clover," Nick admitted. "I could probably only extend my senses out so far, but it's worth a shot, right?"

Before Nick could try that out, however, a figure approached from the shadows, setting the spies on edge, though they relaxed when they realized it was just Alex, looking like she'd run a marathon to get to this point.

"Holy crapbaskets, Alex!" Sam exclaimed.

"I'm all right, guys," Alex responded. "Scam got a little cocky, so I took advantage of that moment and bolted."

"That's just like you, Alex," Clover giggled.

"Good to have you back, Alex," Mat proclaimed. "Nick was seriously about to go off on Scam."

"I still might when we find him," Nick quipped as Alex walked over to hug Nick, knowing he had probably been worried sick about her.

Unbeknownst to all the others, Alex secretly had a shock device snapped to her wrist. Letting out a low and sinister chuckle, Alex prepared to shock Nick into unconsciousness, only for Nick to slam his elbow into her stomach, dazing her and allowing him to send her backwards with a psychic pulse wave.

Naturally, the other spies were shocked to see that Nick would so callously attack his own girlfriend.

"Hey, man, what gives?" Mat exclaimed.

Nick just grinned as he watched Scam step out of the shadows.

"Did you really think I was going to fall for that, Scam?" Nick proclaimed. "You must have forgotten that I'm a psychic. As in, I can read minds. That faker's not my girlfriend, just some random clone that you set on us."

"Hold on, clone?!" Sam gasped. "Oh, lordy, you don't think..."

"Excellent guess, you damned meddlers!" a second voice exclaimed, stepping out from behind a nearby console to reveal Macker the Safecracker.

"Wait, what are you doing here?!" Haruka shouted.

"I would think it's obvious," Macker laughed. "Scam and I are working together to launch an amazing plan."

"And what, exactly, do you need Alex for?" Nick growled, aiming his glowing right hand for the two villains. "Answer me that before I send you to la-la land. And, for that matter, how about you answer the question I asked you earlier and tell me where my girlfriend is!"

"Well, if you must know, she's at my base, but good luck ever finding that place," Macker cackled.

"We will meet again, spies," Scam laughed. "Hopefully when you're in more of a mood to reason with me."

Nick fired a Final Shine Attack towards the baddies even as all three of them retreated. Haruka, naturally, tossed a tracker on Macker before the spies lost sight of them.

"Ever on the ball, Haruka," Nick quipped as he high-fived Haruka.

"Hey, I try," Haruka giggled as she opened her X-Powder to track Macker's movements. "From what I can see, our villain posse is on its way to Quebec."

"Why all the way up there?" Sam wondered.

"Rules for villains, number fifty-one," Haruka answered as the spies left Scam's base to return to the Skyskimmer. "When you have multiple secret bases, have them be as far away from each other as possible."

"Certainly an effective one," Mat admitted.

"All right, then, let's get going," Nick proclaimed. "We've got a friend to save."

With that, the Skyskimmer took off for Quebec. Though as the journey continued, questions continued to run through Nick's mind.

Namely, he still didn't know how Alex factored into Scam and Macker's scheme, if she even did at all. Maybe they'd just kidnapped her to lure the spies into their net.

Regardless of the reasons, Nick vowed to make Scam pay when they cornered him. Not just for kidnapping his girlfriend. But for everything.

On the next episode...

Clover: Well, we made it to Canada. What do we do now?

Nick: Simple. We find our villains and we make them pay for what they've done.

Bridget: Simple, but very effective.

Haruka: Oh, crapbaskets.

Bridget: What's the matter, Haruka?

Haruka: I think the cavalry came to welcome us. As in, evil robots of evil!

Nick: This way! I think we can shake them off!

Bridget: Well, well, readers, if this is exciting you, then don't worry, because we're just getting started! We've got lots more to cover on the next episode of Totally Spies: Beyond the Looking Glass HD Remix, "Hideout Hideaway"!

Nick: I think I see what the author's doing with the episode titles. Clever, methinks.

Haruka: At least they're not groan-inducing puns for once, right?
