Vengeance Granted

Chapter 1: Turned Against

A/N: Vengeance Granted is an alternate take on the Dragon Ball Super: Resurrection F Saga, and will be a substantial rewrite of the plot, whilst retaining core elements of the overall story.

Frieza will have a clearer goal and a plan to reach it, and his threat to the main cast will be increased dramatically in a unique way. Likewise this means that Goku and his allies will have to work harder in order to save the Earth, and along with that the supporting cast will have a larger role in the story as well.

Anyway good reading and let me know what you guys think of the first chapter, thanks Literal.

In the deep expanse of space far away from Earth, a fleet of warships is orbiting an alien planet that is colored in a mixture of blue and red shades.

At the centre of this fleet is a large spherical flagship, stylized in appearance of the old Frieza force though it is of seemingly upgraded design.

On the command bridge is a short blue alien with a rather squashed nose, his attire giving off the appearance of a commander with large pauldrons on his armor along with a cape that reaches down to the ground behind him.

The alien is currently staring down at the planet below with a troubled expression, watching as many explosions and energy attacks cover the surface like a series of blinking stars.

Growling in frustration he quickly turns around to view his support staff, seeing all of them operating advanced computer terminals that are providing data on the battle being waged below.

"Give me a status report you oafs! What is the situation down there?" Sorbet exclaimed in annoyance, mentally cursing the level of competence that his soldiers had nowadays.

All of the staff quickly look up with nervous expressions, and after a few moments of silence one of the braver ones speaks up.

"My apologies sir, but the reports are not good! As it stands now the 1st and 3rd Battalions remain besieged in the capitol city and the 5th Battalion is in full retreat after their counterattack to relieve them failed!" the soldier said anxiously, as his comrades exchanged worried glances.

"What? This is ridiculous, what about the 2nd and 4th Battalions? Where the hell are they!" Sorbet cried out in shock, not wanting to believe that his army was being beaten so easily.

"We don't know sir! The last we heard from them was that they had regrouped and were expecting to engage a sizable rebel force!" the same soldier replied, "We haven't heard anything from them since then and that was over 2 hours ago," he finished somberly, glancing down with a defeated look.

Sorbet shakes his head at that before turning back to view the planet again, weighing up his options as to best resolve this military disaster.

"Send word to all of our units..." Sorbet said after a short while, sighing briefly before saying his next sentence.

"We're retreating back up to the fleet and regrouping! I want them all out of there before the entire army is destroyed!" he finished reluctantly, and in response the soldiers behind him scramble to get the orders sent through as soon as possible.

Sorbet remains standing quietly as his staff get to work and he watches as the fighting continues below, knowing that all of the effort and sacrifice to retain the planet was now for nothing.

"How the Frieza force has fallen..." he thought bitterly to himself with a grimace.

A few hours later two Frieza force officers are making their way through the halls of the flagship, one being a lean grey colored alien and the other a hulking red colored one with a bull like creature.

The grey one is wearing a furious expression as he stalked down the corridor, sending fierce glances to his comrade every so often as they walked side by side.

The red one ignores his comrade however, opting to keep his eyes on the large doors ahead where they would soon be reporting to Commander Sorbet.

As they approach one of the guards outside opens the doors up for them, and as they enter both the officers bow their heads in acknowledgment to Sorbet who is standing there with a furious look of his own.

"What the hell happened down there?! How was a disorganized force of rebels able to drive both of your Battalions to the point where you were forced to abandon the capitol?" Sorbet demands in disbelief, and the officers react by sharing angry looks with one another.

"Well sir if it wasn't for the reckless actions of Officer Shisami here, then we may have been able to hold the city until reinforcements arrived!" the grey one said defensively, gesturing to Shisami who growls angrily in response.

"That is a lie Tagoma! It's your cowardice that led to our troops being defeated! You were too busy cowering behind your defenses to take the initiative and counterattack like I did!" Shisami responded loudly, clenching his fists in frustration.

"Your counterattack failed miserably like I said it would! And if you remember our orders were to hold the city, not throw our troops away in pointless attacks!" Tagoma replied curtly, narrowing his eyes in contempt at Shisami.

"Well if you had supported my attack like I had requested then perhaps it would have succeeded, and then that would have secured our position!" Shisami yelled back, taking several aggressive steps towards Tagoma and looking as if he was about to deck the physically weaker alien.

Tagoma reacts by pulling his hands to his sides as if in preparation for a fight, and the two aliens stare angrily at each other for a few moments, waiting to see who was willing to make the first move.

"That's enough out of the both of you! I demand that you stop this unsightly bickering immediately!" Sorbet yelled abruptly, and the two officers swiftly pull their heads in, backing away from each other and returning to standing at attention.

"I will not have this kind of behavior from my commanding officers is that understood!" Sorbet continues, to which both of his subordinates bow their head once again in acknowledgement.

Sorbet then sighs as he turns away from them, pondering how his army was supposed to achieve anything with all this disunity and incompetence, thinking on the disastrous result of the recent battle as an example.

Out of the six battalions that were sent down to the planet below only two managed to retreat in good order, the rest being wiped out before they could evacuate properly.

Shisami and Tagoma were the commanding officer's of the two that had successfully returned but even they had taken significant casualties from the withdrawal, both being left with units that had barely half of their strength remaining.

Overall it seemed to him that the Frieza force's days were numbered, and it would only be a matter of time before their remaining forces were wiped out as well. Sorbet clasps his hand in worry as he voices his concern to his officers.

"This is a truly dire situation we find ourselves in men! With the almost complete destruction of our army we are left with barely enough troops to hold our remaining planets!" Sorbet said solemnly, "At this rate the Frieza force will be completely destroyed and the great empire we once ruled will be nothing more than a simple memory!"

Tagoma and Shisami share unsure looks before Tagoma speaks up after a few moments.

"Sir if I may suggest, we could pull back from the outer ring of planets and fortify the central clusters! There's no point in continuing to wear ourselves down by dealing with these rebellions on our borders!" Tagoma said respectfully, preferring to take a more reserved approach in conflict.

"What, and give up all that we have tried so hard to hold on to? Commander don't listen to this fool, we need to show the universe that we will not allow insubordination from our subjects!" Shisami interjected angrily in complete opposition to Tagoma, preferring to take a direct course of action to resolve problems.

Sorbet doesn't reply immediately, rubbing his chin in thought as he considers both of his officers propositions.

Both were sound in their strategies and normally he would be willing to go with either one. However after years of going with the usual tactics, Sorbet couldn't help but feel that they would only be delaying the inevitable with either option, and leading them to their eventual defeat.

As Sorbet thinks about it more he wonders if drastic measures might need to be deployed in order to ensure their survival, and he contemplates a plan that some of he had come up with a while ago, though he had dismissed it at the time due to it's extreme risk.

Now more than ever was the time to take risks, and Sorbet makes up his mind as he turns back to his men with a serious expression.

"I'm afraid neither option will be sufficient! No matter how we go about it, with our current strength there is no way we will be able to maintain this level of fighting! We need assistance and I happen to know a way of getting it, though it won't be easy!" he said, earning him shocked looks from both of his subordinates.

"I don't understand sir, what sort of assistance can we hope for? The whole universe is against us and would rather see us perish than lend us their aid!" Tagoma said with a confused look.

"I've had this strategy in mind for some time as a last ditch plan in case the situation grew untenable, and with today's defeat my belief that it is the only solution to our problems is now absolute!" Sorbet said determinedly, holding up his fist for emphasis as he says his next sentence.

"We must resurrect lord Frieza! With his leadership and power the whole universe will once again fear our name and submit to our will!" he finished confidently, and both Tagoma and Shisami almost reel backwards in complete shock at his outrageous statement.

"Is that even possible sir? He's been dead for so long, surely if there was a way to revive him then we would have done it by now?" Tagoma stated incredulously, silently thinking that Sorbet may have actually lost his sanity.

"There is a way and the reason we haven't attempted it is because where we would need to go is well defended by our enemies! However desperate times call for desperate measures so these will be my direct orders to you both!" Sorbet said with a determined expression.

"Tagoma you will accompany me on a recon vessel and we shall go to this location where we will revive Frieza! Shisami you will take charge of the main fleet and return to Frieza Planet 136 whilst I conduct this mission! With any luck we shall return with lord Frieza and then we will finally be able to reclaim what is rightfully ours!" he finished with a wide grin, relishing at the thought of the return of the galactic emperor.

Tagoma and Shisami share doubtful looks but decide to hold their tongues for now, not willing to go against their commander's direct authority.

"By your orders sir! If there is nothing else to talk about then I shall take up my position at the flagships bridge immediately!" Shisami stated questioningly, and he makes his way out of the room as Sorbet nods in acknowledgment.

"So sir, where is this remarkable place that we will be going to in order to bring back lord Frieza?" Tagoma asked after a few moments of silence, curious if such a place could even exist.

"The location is a planet in the middle of nowhere called Earth, and we must have utmost caution when we arrive there as it is the location of our most dangerous enemies!" Sorbet replied with a concerned expression, knowing full well of the powerful warriors that call the planet home.

"Emperor Pilaf it's over here!" the young girl cried out, motioning behind her to a blue goblin like creature and an anamorphic dog who both seemed to be of similar age to her.

"Good work Mai! That takes our total of dragon balls up to six!" Pilaf replied with a gleeful grin, walking over to her as she grabbed the orange orb out from behind some rocks.

The trio stare in awe at the ball with three stars for a few moments, before Pilaf hands it over to the dog to place in his bag.

"So sire where is the last one then?" Shu asked as they proceeded to walk out of the cave they were in, coming out into a rocky canyon with the afternoon sun glinting above.

"Ah yes, let's see then!" Pilaf replied as he pulled out a compass-like device with a gridded green screen, clicking a button on the side and causing several blinking dots to appear.

"From the looks of it... it's about 100 miles in that direction!" Pilaf said, pointing to their left on a western bearing.

"I'll deploy our helicopter then sire!" Mai said excitedly as she pulled out a capsule and threw it onto the ground, a small three seater helicopter appearing in a puff of smoke a few seconds later.

The trio all hop into the vehicle and Mai takes the pilot's seat, confidently operating the aircraft into the air despite her seemingly young age and they are soon out of the canyon, making good progress as they fly high above the rugged landscape below.

"So sire, is it true that the Dragon Balls grant you three wishes now?" Shu asked after a while of silence, thinking that it would be great if all three of them could get their own wishes once they had collected all of the orbs.

"I'm not sure honestly, it's only what I've heard!" Pilaf replied, sounding slightly unsure before squinting suspiciously at the dog.

"But don't think that you're going to get your wish first Shu! My wish for world domination comes first you hear me!" he said aggressively causing Shu to place his hands up defensively.

"No sire of course you get to choose first! I was only hoping that after all my years of service I could get a wish for myself!" he said nervously, hoping that he didn't offend his lord with his presumption.

"Well you have been a good servant over the years... I suppose I'll think about it then!" Pilaf conceded begrudgingly, before thinking on his own long held wish of world domination, something that had been denied to him for so long.

"Soon all the Dragon Balls will be mine! And then the whole world will bow before their great new Emperor-"

"Sire we've arrived at the Dragon Ball's location!" Mai said suddenly, interrupting Pilaf's thoughts as she had been monitoring the radar in order to know where to fly.

Pilaf grins widely in response as they then descend down to a forest below, landing in a small clearing as the last rays of the setting sun shine through the trees.

The trio quickly hop out onto the grass, and with Mai leading the way through the foliage they slowly close in on the single blinking dot on the dragon radar.

Eventually they come to a large clearing at the centre of the forest and are surprised when they see some sort of alien looking vehicle sitting in the middle.

"Um what the heck is that thing, some sort of spaceship?" Pilaf exclaimed with a troubled expression, quickly holding up his hand to halt their approach as he begins looking around cautiously.

"Good guess! But I'm afraid that this will be as much of it that you will be seeing!" a voice calls out from the edge of the clearing, and the trio leap back in fright as Sorbet accompanied by Tagoma and a few other soldiers walk out of the trees.

Shu and Mai swiftly draw their weapons, taking defensive positions around Pilaf as he cowers in fear behind them.

"Who the heck are you and what do you want with us?" Mai yelled out fearfully, taking note of the cocky grins of the soldiers as they snicker at her attempt to defend herself.

"Who I am doesn't concern you Earthling! Now what we want are those precious orbs you have in your possession, hand them over and we'll let you leave unharmed!" Sorbet said confidently, gesturing for his men to raise their blasters threateningly at the trio and making it quite clear that this request was not up for negotiation.

The Pilaf gang tremble nervously in fear as they realize just how outmatched they are, and Pilaf nervously glances around at the half a dozen aliens that have surrounded them, before quickly pulling out the bag that contains the Dragon Balls.

Pilaf then walks up to Sorbet cautiously, and the blue alien takes the bag with a grin as Pilaf then runs back to his minions to continue cowering alongside them.

"A wise decision, now get out of my sight before I reconsider sparing your worthless lives!" Sorbet said threateningly, causing the Pilaf gang to flee hurriedly back to their helicopter in terror.

"Are you sure that was a sound decision sir? What if they alert the Earth's warriors to our presence?" Tagoma said questioningly, frowning as he watches the small Earthlings run away.

"We'll be gone well before they get the chance! And besides with our ship generating the energy cloaking field they'd never be able to locate our position anyway!" Sorbet said, brushing off Tagoma's concerns and pulling out the Dragon Ball he had in his possession, placing it alongside the others to form all seven.

"Very well then sir, so what is the process of activating these orbs then?" Tagoma said, watching with interest as the Dragon Balls begin pulsing with an orange glow in unison.

"From our surveillance of the planet it seems all you need to do is call the dragon by it's name and it shall appear!" Sorbet replied, adopting a thoughtful expression for a few seconds before raising his hands into the air dramatically.

"Rise the eternal dragon Shenron, I wish to summon you and fulfil my wish!" Sorbet cried out, seeing the orange orbs begin pulsing even more rapidly as a fierce wind abruptly starts blowing through the trees nearby.

The soldiers including Tagoma glance around nervously, taking note of the dark clouds beginning to block out the stars of the now night sky, with flashes of lightning arcing through them as they gather.

After a few moments a bright bolt of lightning suddenly shoots out from the Dragon Balls, lighting up the clouds above with a massive beam of glowing yellow energy, one that slowly forms into a monstrous green dragon.

Everyone below stares up at the magnificent creature in awe, finally realizing the complete magnitude of actually summoning of this gigantic magical creature.

"I am the eternal dragon! Speak three wishes, and if it is within my power I shall grant them!" Shenron's booming voice comes down, causing a few of the soldiers to step back fearfully.

"Three wishes huh? Well that's even better than we could have hoped for!" Sorbet thought to himself in surprise, "After we revive lord Frieza we could even wish King Cold back as well!"

"Well here goes... ah, dragon my first wish is to bring lord Frieza back to life!" Sorbet yelled up at Shenron, knowing that this was the moment where his plan would either succeed or fail.

Shenron just looks down at the small alien for a few moments, causing Sorbet to sweat slightly at the intimidating stare of the great dragon before he finally gives his reply.

"Very well, it can be done! Your wish has been granted!" Shenron proclaimed loudly, his red eyes glowing brightly for a few seconds before quickly returning to normal.

Sorbet and his men then watch in anticipation as a glowing entity appears in front of them, slowly taking the form of lord Frieza who is soon standing there in his complete final form.

Frieza flexes his grip for a few moments, glancing curiously at his soldiers around him before looking up in surprise at the giant dragon next to him.

"My my! It seems I've finally been brought back to the living! What a fascinating development!" Frieza said with a villainous grin, turning back to Sorbet who along with the rest of his men swiftly kneel before their emperor.

"I assume you're the one responsible for this? By the looks of it you're in my army, so do inform me of the current situation would you?" Frieza asked politely, though even in a polite voice the tyrant sounded quite threatening.

"Of course lord Frieza! I'm Sorbet, the current commander of your army sire and we have just revived you using the Earth's Dragon Balls!" Sorbet said cautiously, looking even more intimidated by his lord's presence than the giant dragon's.

"Yes that is quite obvious you imbecile! What I wanted to know my so-called commander, was why it took you so long to revive me in the first place! It's been over fourteen years if I recall correctly!" Frieza demanded furiously, instantly dropping his politeness in exchange for an enraged expression.

"My apologies, sire! We've been occupied with maintaining your empire and we hadn't risked an expedition to Earth until now, with the technology to mask our presence only being recently developed!" Sorbet replied hurriedly, beginning to sweat profusely at the intense glare Frieza was giving him.

"Is that so? No doubt my empire is crumbling and you only came to the Earth out of desperation due to your own incompetence!" Frieza stated with distaste, to which Sorbet trembled in silence thus confirming Frieza's assumption.

"Well that's to be expected without me there to crack the whip! However despite your shortcomings I am pleased to have been brought back in the living world! That insufferable prison in hell was beyond despicable!" Frieza continued with a grimace, remembering the wretched fairies and stuffed animals that would plague his every waking second in the afterlife.

"You have been granted your first wish! Now name your remaining two before I take my leave!" Shenron suddenly declared, causing Frieza to return his attention to the great dragon above.

"Oh? There are more wishes to be granted? This is truly fortunate and I must say it might just be enough to make up for your failings commander!" Frieza said with a grin, glancing briefly at Sorbet who simply bows his head in gratitude.

"Now what could I wish for, I wonder? There's that old immortality request I once wanted, but now that I'm finally here I have a mind for something a bit more interesting! After all this will be in preparation for my vengeance on that filthy monkey Goku!" he thought to himself, wondering what he would need to bring his nemesis to his knees.

As Frieza stands there in thought an epiphany suddenly comes to his mind, triggered by the very objects sitting at his feet and adopting a malicious grin, he then prepares to make a wish that will swiftly turn the greatest strength of the Earthlings against them.

"Dragon, this is my wish! Grant me the power to manipulate the Dragon Balls to my will!" Frieza shouted up to the dragon, causing everyone Shenron included, to look at him in complete shock at his request.

"My lord Frieza, is that truly possible? What sort of power would you get from these Dragon Balls?" Sorbet questioned cautiously, hoping he wasn't speaking out of line.

"Sorbet, I suggest you don't question my methods if you value your life!" Frieza replied threateningly, "However since you are obviously too stupid to realize! The Dragon Balls are of incredible benefit to these Earthling scum, and by securing my control over them I shall be denying them the very thing they rely on to protect their mongrel hides!" he stated convincingly, to which Sorbet quickly begins nodding in agreement.

"Well enough talk then! So what of it dragon can you grant me my wish or not?" Frieza queried sharply to Shenron, now noticing the silence that was emanating from the great beast.

"I am unsure if I can grant this wish... it is a rather unusual request!" Shenron stated, looking visibly bewildered by Frieza's demand.

"Well I don't care if it's unorthodox can you do it or not?" Frieza replied, looking increasingly impatient by the dragon's hesitation.

"I will try but know that this is a dangerous wish! You will have power over the Dragon Balls and even I can not predict what you would be capable of with this power!" Shenron said, sounding as if he was trying his best to dissuade Frieza from confirming his demand.

"I'm running out of patience you overgrown lizard! Grant me my wish or I blast you into ashes!" Frieza yelled furiously, clenching his fists as he glared up at Shenron.

"It is unwise to threaten a dragon! However I will still attempt to grant your second wish, though it will use both of your remaining wishes!" Shenron said with a hint of irritation in his voice, and one might assume that he may have purposely withheld the third wish due to Frieza's bad attitude.

Frieza just stares expectantly up at Shenron regardless, watching as the dragon's eyes start to glow once more and wondering if his wish could truly be possible.

After a few moments Shenron's eyes stop glowing and everyone below waits curiously, waiting in anticipation for his verdict on the wish.

"I have made it so! All your wishes have now been granted, farewell!" Shenron announces before abruptly forming into a bright bolt of lightning, pulling the Dragon Balls upwards into the sky and preparing to send them out once more across the planet.

"Well there's only one way to test this new power out I suppose! Let's start by preventing those Earthlings from getting their grubby little hands on these Dragon Balls ever again!" Frieza thought determinedly to himself, quickly extending his hand out towards the orbs as they began to disperse.

Without warning the Dragon Balls halt in the sky as if frozen in mid-air, to which Frieza adopts a truly evil grin as he pulls his arm down, the now rocky spheres slowly descending down to hover a few meters off the ground in front of him.

"That was truly incredible my lord! With that wish you'd be able to put a stop to these Earthlings for good!" Sorbet said in awe, finally realizing just how powerful Frieza's new abilities are.

"Yes it is quite remarkable isn't it? However for now I'd rather not overstay my welcome here, there is much preparation to do for my plans of vengeance and I'd like to get them underway immediately!" Frieza said with a malicious smirk, willing the dragon balls to float behind him as he walks towards the ship.

A/N: Alright that is the first chapter done, and as I said at the start please let me know what you think as feedback is much appreciated!

So with Frieza being brought back to his final form I thought that it made more sense than the whole in pieces scenario. I mean it's not like Tien came back with his arm still whacked off from the fight with Nappa or Trunks coming back with a hole in his chest after being blasted by Cell.

Also for those of you that know of the rule that you can only bring people back after a year with the Dragon Balls, I'm of the opinion that if it makes a cool story by ignoring some minor rules then it shouldn't really matter all that much. If you really want an explanation though, you could just say that when Dende remade the dragon balls the one year rule was removed as a result.

And with that wish, I'll leave it up to your imagination as to what Frieza could do with a power like that, but you know that he is going to use it to majorly screw over the Z Fighters, so we'll just have to see how he does it.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed this first chapter and thanks for reading!
