[DISCLAIMER: This is a fictional story using Hololive characters only, and not the real people who play these characters.

I realized there was a strange time paradox when the earlier murder happened. There is a 13-hour difference between Holios and California time. I might go back and fix it later. Anyway, I hope it didn't bother anyone.

With this story, things will definitely be heating up on Holios. Sorry for the rushed chapter. Please enjoy and thank you for the faves, follows and mostly reviews.]

Chapter 19 – Holios is For Lovers

The plane landed past midnight on the Island of Holios. The evening sky was gloriously filled with a blanket of stars.

As they departed the airport, all grabbed a cab to the hotel where the convention was being held for HoloEN.

It neared one in the morning. Botan wanted to head to the local police station to ask about the murder, but knew it would have to wait until the morning. She and Dr. Watson Amelia decided to leave first thing after a quick breakfast.

As they stopped in front of the hotel Gura stated, "I'll be heading out now."

"What?" Amelia couldn't believe Gura would just leave, "What do you mean you're heading out?"

"There's a place I'll be staying while here."

"A place? What about this place?"

"This is a nice and busy hotel for you all to stay… safe. I need to stop by and see some old friends."

Lamy tiredly took Botan's hand. "Let's go check in and leave these two to talk."

Botan was curious about where Gura was headed. Who were these old friends?

She succumbed and went inside to check into a room, dragged along by her wife, who continued to snuggle beside her. Lamy simply wanted to be alone with her wife while on vacation and the flight was over eight hours because of stormy weather they had to fly around.

"I'm tired hon."

"Okay, okay," Botan giggled, as they made their way to the front desk.

As they walked away, Amelia walked up closely to Gura. "Please don't. Don't do this."

"Do what?" Gura smiled, "I'm not," she took her hand in her own. "I'm not leaving you. I'm keeping my promise, but you have to keep up this act of being part of HoloEN and while you're doing your part, I have to go to a place only meant for gods and ancient immortals like myself. You can't go with me there."

Gura gripped Amelia's hand more tightly for emphasis, "You and your detective friend can do more investigating on the murder here, and I need to find out what's going on behind the scenes with the Ancient Ones and there is only one I can ask."

"Ina?"

Gura nodded. "She must have come here. I'm sure she's where I'm headed."

"But I can help if I'm with you…"

"…if you're with me it's not safe for you."

"Of course, I'm safe with Ina."

As much as Gura didn't want it to enter, she felt the slightest bit of jealousy. Why wouldn't this Watson pick another spokesperson for the Ancient Ones? Ina was sweet and beautiful. It had happened once and she couldn't bear if it happened again.

Watson delicately ran her hands along the shark girl's cheeks, so that she'd face her. "This time I choose you."

"You don't have to."

"But I want to."

"You can't choose fate."

"Fate has nothing to do with us."

"Fate has had everything to do with us."

Both grew quiet. Watson's warm hands still held to Gura's cheeks. She pulled forward, slowly kissing her lower lip, the sharpness of her teeth slightly grazing. Watson pulled back and the slightest amount of blood dripped from her top lip.

"Ah," Gura wiped at Watson's lip, "I'm sorry."

"It's nothing." She licked across her lips.

It was then they saw two headed out from the other door of the hotel. It was a gorgeous dark-haired woman in a tight red dress, holding hands with a blonde about the same height.

"Wait a minute…"

"…is that?" Gura finished the question.

"Ina?" Amelia yelled over.

Ina turned to the two friends. Her eyes didn't express much surprise, but the Nene beside her grinned widely.

"Hi!" Nene waved.

Pulling at Ina's hand she walked over to Gura and Amelia.

The four stood looking to the others across.

Nene looked gorgeous in a tight green dress, her long blonde tresses pulled back, the dress matching her eyes.

"Oh," Amelia began, "we just arrived."

"I see." Ina glanced to Gura and then back to Amelia. "We were about to head to Coco's Casino."

"A casino?" Gura asked. "Sounds fun. Oh wait, I think I'm supposed to be singing there."

"That'll be nice." Ina again glanced to Amelia, who had a slight bit of blood at her lip, but she tried not to notice. "We're meeting Nene's sister and a friend of theirs."

Amelia glanced at the two holding hands, and they hadn't released and she realized Ina had moved on.

Again, why did it sting? She loved Gura, but then she was also drawn to Ina.

Nene cut in to her thoughts, "Why don't you two join us? Afterward," she glanced to Gura, "you and I can head back to the Kame Inn."

Gura didn't speak, wondering how she knew.

"Ina has a room here now."

"She is staying here?" Amelia asked. "I mean," to Ina, "you're staying here also?"

Ina nodded.

All grew silent again.

"You look so familiar," Nene told Amelia. "I seem to know you…" she pondered, "… yeah, yeah, you're..."

"…Um," Gura stepped forward, "We can change and meet you two at the casino in twenty. I'm also staying here, not the Kame Inn," and to Ina, "with Watson."

"Oh, that's nice." Ina uncomfortably pulled at Nene. "We should probably go then."

Amelia quickly turned to the shark girl. Gura simply grinned, and then told the two, "see ya guys in a bit!"

They both said goodbye and then left for a taxi that was waiting.

Gura wondered, who was this new player? She didn't sense hostility and untowardness from the blonde, but she was obviously processing something about Amelia Watson in her data base, and she knew that if she knew of the Kame Inn and knew Ina, where she was more than likely staying, she was more than just a hot blonde.

"Okay," Amelia grabbed at the shark girl's arm. "What's going on? You're staying here now? With me? Why'd you say that to Ina?"

"Did it bother you?"

"Yes, it did. Were you trying to mark your territory?"

"I'm a shark, not a dog."

Dr. Watson Amelia hated this part of relationships. It was something both new to her and bothersome once again.

"Hey, let's go up and change and then head to that casino. I might have a little cash to burn from Koro and Okayu."

"They gave you money?"

"Yeah, she slipped it in my pocket and I just noticed it with a thank you letter. They seemed really grateful."

Amelia giggled, "you're a dichotomy."

"What?!" Gura couldn't help but burst out laughing. "A dichotomy?"

"You are both extremely lucky and extremely… unlucky," then more seriously, "aren't you?"

Yeah, she guessed that she was. Both stood, not speaking, but what they felt was real, wasn't it? To Gura, this was real, and the night was beautiful on Holios.

"Yeah, let's go get ready," Amelia gripped her hand tightly.

Polka loved to have fun. Down deep, however, there was a deep sadness in her lot of life. She was a lonely goddess from a planet outside time – the training ground for Travelers. But she had a tenacious character that would want to always follow her little sister around. Her power was in her ability to create something from nothing.

She could play any percussion instrument as long as it entailed banging or pushing on things. If met with a problem, she'd find a way out. In that way, she was always called on if Nene ran into trouble. This happened quite often. Nene had a big heart, and ran things with her heart on that sleeve.

It would seem, her little sister had fallen in love with someone unattainable. She also had to bring a timepiece to a Traveler. She just forgot who the Traveler was and where she lived.

So, Nene decided she would take it easy at a beautiful retreat for gods, the Kame Inn, until she remembered.

Enter Polka. Her little sister was supposed to have done her job and leave, but she had been gone a while longer and hadn't returned. Thus, big sis came to remind Nene of the job and reason for her visit to such a dull planet like Earth One.

However, the planet held all types of beauty, and Polka decided, 'why not stay a little longer?'

She did like the goddess that her sister had fallen head over heels for, and she did want to see the one who seemed to run the show.

She looked forward to meeting this god, once again. They also liked to have fun. She had originated in the Void where time didn't exist, and it was as if time had never passed.

Maybe it was time for her own romance to start.

Kaicho Coco and PP Tenshi, a.k.a. Kanata, sat with a drink in the elaborate suite above the casino. There was a large window where they could watch every corner of the establishment. Front row seating to her business on the island. It was packed this evening. Music played loudly over the speakers, with the dance floor harboring shoulder-to-shoulder patrons.

"Did she complete the job?"

"Perfectly," Kanata sipped her lemonade.

"You all going out later?"

"No." She scoffed, nearly snorting.

"Why not?"

"She's a bit too cutthroat for me." She coughed, "a real handful."

The two laughed and were soon joined by another sound of laughter from behind. When they turned, there she stood, holding a black briefcase.

"My ears were burning," she laughed gleefully, while placing her briefcase on the table. "You both look lovely tonight."

Coco remained seated. She grinned slowly. "Feel free to enjoy your fee downstairs. I prefer only those I invite up here."

"I prefer upstairs." Suisei walked to the bar and slowly mixed a martini, three olives on the side. "Stirred, not shaken." She grinned again, winking to PPT. "If you join me, I might enjoy playing a few games downstairs."

"I'm busy."

Suisei glanced over the suite. "Hmm, looks kind of 'dead' here." She sat down beside Kanata, placing a hand on her lap, then gently squeezing her thigh. "Been working out?"

PPT's eyes widened.

"Go on," Coco gestured. "I have a guest coming shortly and so I'll be busy."

Kanata didn't like how she was always being pushed aside and handed to another, but she stood.

"Yeah sure."

She was instantly met with Suisei grabbing around her elbow. It surprised the smaller girl with the sparkling eyes of an angel breed.

"Yeah, let's go," she glanced down to her boss, "Coco is busy."

Kaichou laughed at her trying to attempt making her jealous. She was in love with PPT, but was also in love with all her subordinates.

Once they were gone, she buzzed in the guest. In walked a colorful young woman with fennec fox leanings.

"You say you sing?"

"Yes, and I think my sister works for you."

"You think?"

"Well, we haven't seen each other for a millennium or so…"

Polka had extremely unique eyes with an iris that continued to change shape as she grinned easily while talking.

Kaichou laughed at the reference she thought was merely a phrase meaning it was a long time and not an actual millennium.

"It looks like we already have a filling for the singer position. It's some shark girl named Gawr Gura that's taken over for OkaKoro - our weekend act. Can you do comedy?"

As it neared two a.m. Gura and Amelia walked into Coco's Casino, still alive with the island party life.

They could see Ina and Nene across the way and headed that direction.

Ina noted how lovely Amelia Watson looked when she dressed to the nines. Her pale cornflower blue eyes were like the most beautiful blue sky on a clear day. She had painted her, without realizing while on the island.

Dr. Watson Amelia quickly glanced over the establishment, realizing someone from up above was staring down at them.

When she looked up, she could see on the upper level a woman with blue hair, whose gaze caught her own, beside PP Tenshi. She had seen the angel girl at 50th Street Bar and wondered why she was suddenly here. Who was the woman beside her? It was a new player and she was curious. She had suspected someone with Kaichou had helped Shien leave the country and wondered how she was already here on the island.

PPT hadn't noticed them, but Amelia knew that was Kaichou's right hand person standing beside another woman she'd never seen before.

"Excuse me," she told the others.

"What?" Gura asked.

"I need… the facilities."

"Ah, okay." She looked to the other two, "guess she should have gone before we left."

The others joined in light laughter and then Gura asked, "want me to buy you something?"

"Uh… sure. I'll have a screwdriver… or just, whatever you'd like."

Gura realized the investigator was lying, as she left through the crowd. Ina also watched Amelia leave and then turned to the shark girl. "Did you tell her everything?"

"I told her enough."

"Why?"

Nene watched and then interjected. "Does anyone want to dance? Ina?"

"Maybe in a bit." Ina asked, "Do you mind if Gura and I speak privately?"

"Sure." Nene was ready to leave. "I think my sister is here and she wants me to join. She has some news she wants to share."

"I didn't see a text…"

"No, we communicate differently from our planet. I'll see you in eighteen minutes and twenty-three seconds, unless something else comes up."

She then pecked her quickly on the lips, surprising the dark-haired beauty.

"O…kay."

Nene left within a second, and large grin across her face.

"She's… different." Gura stated and they both laughed.

"I missed you Gura."

"How's your vacay been?"

"Interesting."

"Relaxing?"

"Very."

"You still a spokesperson for the Ancient Ones?"

"Honestly," the two walked toward a booth to sit. "I haven't heard anything for a few days."

"Wonder why."

Ina shirked her shoulders, as they both sat.

Once they were both seated, Gura closely spoke. "Something's going on. I don't know what it is, or why, but it just feels weird." She pointed to her stomach, "here."

"Could you possibly just be hungry?"

"Har-har," the two laughed. "Despite that being a good reason, I'm just not sure."

"So, you have a gut-feeling." Ina pondered Enma and the sudden appearance of the blonde goddesses. "I actually have a similar feeling."

Gura looked over the place. "Wonder what's taking Watson so long?"

"Flights can do a number on the internal clock."

"Yeah."

############################################################################

Once Dr. Watson Amelia made it up to the second level, she looked across to PPT and the blue-haired woman. When they caught one another's gaze, a smile spread slowly across the woman's face.

With the syncopation of the background music, lights danced across the area in a pulsating rainbow.

Amelia walked up, "PP Tenshi? How'd you get here?"

"On a jet."

"How long ago did you land?"

Kanata became defensive, and Suisei realized this person was someone interesting, and instantly recognized her to be in law enforcement. She had a sixth sense about most; especially, those who were involved in solving crimes.

"I have the freedom to fly anywhere in the world. I don't have to tell you when I arrived or anything else. Not to mention, I don't think you have jurisdiction here, or back in the states." Kanata held closely to Suisei, which made the blue-haired girl smile even larger. Was this someone new to play with?

"You're right. I was just curious. There was another murder on this island."

"I'm sure the HIPD will take care of it," Kanata stated.

"I see." She glanced to the blue-haired woman and then back to Kanata.

"We haven't met," Amelia spoke to PP Kanata's friend.

"No."

"This is Dr. Watson Amelia, ex-investigator for Scotland Yard," Kanata introduced.

"Ooh, how prestigious." Suisei grinned again, not giving a name or any information.

There was just something about the person with PPT that bothered Amelia greatly.

She asked, "Are you from Holios?"

"No."

She continued to only have a slight smile to one side, and stared intensely at the ex-investigator.

"You don't talk much, do you?"

"No."

"Enjoy our establishment," Kanata finally offered. "I'll let them know to treat you well."

"Yeah," again she glanced at the woman who never introduced herself. "Thank you for the hospitality."

Suisei moved forward and then stated in a tight whisper above the pulsing techno beat, "It was a pleasure meeting you Dr. Watson."

A cold chill ran along every appendage of the ex-investigator.

"You may call me by one name, Moriarity."

"One name?" The wording didn't pass by her. "You have others?"

"Perhaps I'll share them with you another… 'time.'"

With the wording, the vocal inflection, the strangest whisper, Dr. Watson Amelia suddenly felt dizzy and stood there.

It was as if someone had taken a hammer to her brain and smacked her so hard everything went black.
