This story is gonna be a Fanfiction about both ships Cathry and Catcisse because I love both ships so hard and well I thought it would be a good idea to write something like that.

Disclaimer: I don't own "Reign" and I don't make profit with this story.

Enjoy the reading :)

Chapter one

The king and queen of France walked down the corridor side by side, feeling successful in getting away with the murder of the archduchess of Bohemia.

Both of them had satisfied smirks written on their faces. Henry glanced over to look at Catherine, his grin grew by just looking at her.

Catherine as wonderful as the day he met her still petite with blue eyes shining and sleek strawberry blonde hair but in other ways her beauty had molded. Catherine held herself now much higher than of the age of fourteen where the two first met.

She now had a fire fueled by protecting their children and herself from ever getting hurt again.

"I've forgotten what it's like to work with you instead of against you," Henry said with a content honestly.

Catherine sighed when he talks his voice is like honey and velvet and still to this day pulls longingly at her heart.

"You're very charming, when you're not trying to kill me," Catherine said playfully. She enjoyed taking to him like this, it's better than constantly snapping at each other.

In this moment he knew that this is a chance to prove himself that he still loved Catherine,

"there is no one like you. You're a galleon at full sail, all

guns blazing."

Catherine smiled utterly at the compliment and said "Higher the waves, I remember."

She was able to notice is serious mood and Catherine wondered why it had suddenly changed from such a light conversation. Before they were able to went into the throne room, Henry blocked her off by stepping in front of her path.

"It's still true. You make other women tame," he said looking into her eyes trying to connect with her, and in this moment Catherine realized where this before so happily conversation was going,

she felt horrified and happy all in the same lovely moment, she loved Henry no matter how much they both denied it to the world,

to each other, and even themselves. They loved each other,

but Catherine knew how dangerous it could be for her heart to reopen itself for him.

She could still feel a small ache from the first time that Henry brought Diane to the French court a few years into their marriage.

Catherine knew she couldn't bear to be hurt by him again.

She knew that she couldn't be with Henry romantically if he is with others as well and,

Catherine didn't think that he could be able to give up any of his mistresses for her, especially Diane.

If she let herself love him she couldn't take the betrayal.

It would be better for both of them to spare each other the pain of losing the love they have left for each other.

Thinking of all this made her smile faded as he said "stay with me."

Catherine heard the words but she froze.

Henry felt so exposed to her, to the possibility of having his heart broken by the only women he has only ever loved completely and fully through everything they have been through.

He thought he loved Diane at a time but there is no Diane,

she is whatever Henry wanted her to be and he found that out long ago.

He leaned in about to kiss her but he felt a tiny hand on his chest barely pushing back.

"Henry," Catherine said her mind happy that she protected herself but her heart ached and told her to let him continue,

let him kiss her. Catherine's voice was unsure as she spoke as she knew it would be.

"Don't ruin it," she was barely able to get the words out,

it was all she could say without giving into him.

She wished she could take his face in her hands and pull his lips into hers so that she could feel his soft lips on hers again but, her mind overpowered her.

She walked past him both their hearts aching.

Her walk was slow almost faltering at first wanting him to follow her.

The king and queen of France greeted the grieving Archduke of Bohemia, who was standing beside Lady Kenna, one of Mary's ladies in waiting.

Catherine tried to explain that she and Henry found a letter in her room, apparently about a secret lover. Catherine tried to express how she must've been so scared and shameful of her action,

she decided to kill herself, and that this letter was written by her lover,

who was overcome with grief from the situation.

Catherine noticed that Henry was constantly looking at her, his look was burning her skin.

After the Archduke requested if they could pretend that his sister had drowned in the river to protect her memory, and of course both The King and the Queen of France agreed.

She once again walked rather quickly towards her only escape, fingers barely skimming the black dress she was wearing. The feeling of her husbands watching graze on her skin made her feel the urge of fresh air on her skin, it urged her to quicken her descent.

Chills trickled down Catherine's spine as if the longing look, she knew her husband gave her, itself burned her.

Her footsteps were hurried but not frantic as she quickly walked the way to her chambers, walked towards her guards without even really looking at them and stepped into her chambers. The cool, bright, late afternoon sunshine floating through the windows into her chambers.

She walked to the high windows and looked up to the brightly lit sky and moved her head slightly to the side. A small smile crept on her face as she looked up into the blue, sky . She was finally in her chambers, her semi-permanent place to think, and the place to be herself. Her quick eyes slowly looked towards her study and then began to count how many steps she needed to get there, she smirked when her eyes focused on her big wooden desk. Her pupils slid over to the corner and she sighed when she thought of her study.

It had taken her the better part of her young adult life to earn that study. It was the dream she had after the first troubles in her marriage began to show, that study that had made her forget the time, the study where so many memories flashed through her mind when she only looked at the big wooden desk in the room. It was that study that had forced her to stay inside her chambers while her children played outside in the warm sun and write correspondences to oh so many different people. In the years when she and Henry decided to have their own chambers, the dream of her own study came true. It might have been the only good thing about this whole idea her husband had those many years ago, she was so naive back then that she really believed he would come back to her, that they had a real chance together. But after her husband came up with this idea, she knew her dream of a good marriage, a marriage built on trust and love was nearly gone. Her persistence and her dogged determination to know the truth why her husband had this idea had caused her to seek out her, oh so new chambers back then and see Henry having his fun with Diane in his. She knew after that moment that she never had him, that he never was her. The long hours that she cried in those chambers, she called her place, all those happy and loving memories her chambers still had. She remembered all of them.

Catherine smirked to herself as she continued to stare at her study. She must have looked like an idiot, just standing there at her window, looking straight to her study, but she didn't mind. She liked to look at her study, she had damn well earned the right to look.

Something in her mind clicked and brought Catherine quietly out of her light daze. She gently turned her head to the sky again and glanced at the blue sky, silently asking why her life was still such a complete mess.

She tightened her hold on her dress, she didn't even knew she held and decided to grab a book and just sit on one of her many chairs, truthfully she didn't even remember the last time she really gave herself some free time besides when she visited her children of course, but reading...it was a long time ago she just sat down and read something. Her heels clicked on the ground and she smiled softly when she made her way to one of the chairs after grabbing a book she wanted to read since months. Her gentle and soft smile grew when she actually sat down and began reading her book.

Catherine had a passion to just sit down and read, her eyes flew over the words, her mind was in a completely different reality. She knew that her headache from this morning would only get worse as the day went slowly to an end—not to mention her lack of sleep would be a problem as well, she didn't slept properly since she was thrown into that tower and nearly died because of her sometimes so foolish husband who had a deep graving to get England by marrying the queen of Scotland to one of his sons —but she was not daunted. Today was a strange day, yes, but she would not think about that, at least not now.

After several hours of reading, Catherine noticed that the sun was long set down and decided therefore to change into her nightdress and perhaps get some proper sleep this time. The hours of total silence, only she and her book had lighten her mood a bit.

However, she couldn't get her mind free from Henry. She couldn't stand this anymore. Everything was too much for her, first the conversation they had just a few weeks ago, she knew she only tried to get herself a few more days or weeks to live, however every word she said to him back then was true. She still loved him, she never stopped. But the two naive children, they once were, were long dead. They killed them so, so many years ago.

Deep inside her she wished that everything hadn't gone wrong all those years ago.

Unfortunately she couldn't stop thinking about his words..."stay with me,"

these three single words couldn't get out of her mind. No matter how hard she tried, she shifted in her big bed from side to side like a young child trying desperately to sleep.

She tried so hard to fall asleep but she just couldn't,

Her husband's words kept popping up in her mind. Those words just didn't left her troubled mind. What if she hadn't stopped him? Would he be with her now? Would they have made love? Or would she be alone like she was now?

She didn't know and this feeling of not knowing even one answer to all the questions in her mind kept her troubled mind on ease. Suddenly the bedsheets felt like they were crushing her and Catherine quickly stood up, unfortunately just a moment too fast, and the sudden dizziness overcame her mind. This day surely couldn't get any worse,

However, she still wished her mind hadn't overpowered her and she had heard of her heart, no matter how dizzy she felt and how much her troubled head hurt at that moment.
