Hello everyone, thank you very much for reading this story. When I came up with it, I felt like I had seen the idea of a movie. I just can't remember which movie. But maybe I'm just mistaken and figured it out all by myself.

I'm sorry for the grammar mistakes. English is my second language. For the school system in the story. It is a combination of the American and the Dutch school system.

Enjoy reading.! Reviews are always welcome!

I don't own Wicked.

'I don't want to go to school father.' nine-year-old Elphaba tried to persuade her father. 'Nobody is nice to me. And I'm not learning anything new anyway.'

'Enough Elphaba!' says Frex angrily. His eldest daughter has been nagging him all day long. At least that's how it feels. It's not even lunch yet. Elphaba stopped immediately and looked down. 'You go to school and with that. Nessa is still being taught at home but you are old enough to take a beating. Do not overreact. And go to your room and come out when it's lunch.'

Frex wanted some time for himself. He'd heard enough of Elphaba's whining. With a sigh, he sat down at his desk. He picked up an old family photo. 'Why can't you be as sweet as Nessa? You are always a burden and demand my attention.' he said softly to the photo. He looked at his dead wife who was holding Elphaba. He had pasted a small photo of Nessa to complete his family. His sweet and dear Nessa. She is perfect. he thought. Only the early labor had made her legs tangled, so she couldn't walk. Her immune system was also very weak so Frex did everything he could to protect her. With a sigh, he put the picture back and went to work.

Elphaba was already in her room. She thought it was possible to try. In two days she would go to the third grade. She will then have Miss Rikaal. During the introductory day, Elphaba already had a discussion about a fact of history. The teacher kept insisting she was right when Elphaba took her history book and showed it to the teacher. From that moment on, Miss Rikaal had not looked back to Elphaba. Elphaba got dirty looks from her and was completely ignored.

Elphaba wanted nothing more than to throw with something but knew her father would only get angrier.

She knew her efforts with her father wouldn't work, but trying never hurt.

She picked up her book and began to read. After a few minutes she heard someone knocking on the door. She looked up in surprise. 'Come in' she said.

Miss Gutter entered. Since Frex was always working and the kids were too young to do all the household chores, they had Miss Gutter. Most of all she took care of Nessa and the food.

"Nessa asks you to come down." Elphaba nodded. She knew her father wouldn't let her go down, but as long as Nessa was happy, he wouldn't get so angry. She put her book down and followed Miss Gutter into the kitchen.

'And how did it go?' Nessa asked while Elphaba joined the table to start coloring too.

Elphaba shake her head. 'I just have to go to school.'

Nessa looked disappoiting at her drawing. 'Oh but I was hoping ...'

Elphaba sighs. 'I know Nessa. I'd rather play with you than go to school, but I have to go to school. '

Nessa nodded.

'But after school we can continue playing and I can tell you and Miss Mydie everything,' Elphaba said, hoping to cheer up her sister.

Nessa thought for a moment and then looked a lot happier. 'Then Miss Mydie comes to teach me things again so I'm not all alone.'

Elphaba says exactly with a laugh. She did everything she could to make her little sister happy.

Frex walked into the kitchen and was surprised to see Elphaba sitting at the kitchen table. He wanted to say it was, but Nessa had already seen it.

'Daddy! See what Fabala and I made!' she proudly showed him the drawing.

He immediately forgot to address Elphaba to Elphaba's relief. 'That is very beautiful Nessa. I can see you tried very hard.'

Elphaba looked away. Why would he say anything good to me? she thought sadly.

Is lunch already Miss Gutter? Frex asked after giving Nessa a hug. 'I think that this little hard-working girl deserves something good.' Nessa giggled with joy

'Daddy, I'm already six, I'm not a little girl anymore.'

Miss Gutter put a bowl of sandwiches on the table.

'That's true but you're always my little girl' said Frex lovingly.

He cleared his throat and looked at Elphaba. 'You go and clean up the stuff so Miss Gutter can put down the plates.' He said in a harsh tone.

Elphaba nodded and did as she was asked. "I thought I told you to stay in your room until lunch."

Elphaba turned greener than she already was. 'I uhm Nessa Uhm.' she stammered.

Nessa looked at her father. 'I asked if Fabala wanted to color with me,' she said excitedly.

Alike Frex change facial expression. 'That's kind of you.'

He looked back at Elphaba, who was nodding. 'Next time you'll come and say that to me first. I don't want you to whine about your selfish wishes anymore. Am I clear?'

'Yes father' whispered Elphaba. She didn't look at him. She knew she would see nothing but hatred and disappointment in his eyes.

The rest of the day was quiet. Nessa and Elphaba went to the library together. There they searched for new books together. Elphaba went looking for books about nature, that's where her interests lay now.

Frex, meanwhile, was back at work. He looked at the picture again and whispered softly, 'I miss you so much Melana.'

He quickly dried his tears when he heard the girls come home. He walked over to Nessa and gave her a hug. 'Have you selected nice books?'

'Yes with the help of Fabala I can learn everything about Animals.' Nessa proudly showed the book.

Frex nodded approvingly.' Well-chosen Elphaba.'

Elphaba nodded. 'Nessa and I are now going to read her book.'

'That sounds very nice.'

Nessa nodded very hard.

They went into the living room and Elphaba began to read to Nessa. After an hour, Nessa fell asleep. Elphaba began to read her own book.

She was already mentally preparing herself for her first class with the same kids who would bully her and a teacher who didn't like her.

At school, a teacher sat at her desk reading her papers. With a sigh, Dani Nilok put her work down and looked out the window. She would start teaching in two days. She laughed back at what hadn't happened in the past few weeks.

Dani had received a letter from her aunt that her friend suddenly had to go to her sick mother. That friend is called Thea Rikaal. She was actually going to teach a third grade. But now they were looking for someone else at the school in Munchkinland. Of course Dani answered right that she would like the job. So within weeks Dani had moved to Munchkinland in the village where she was going to work at school. Dani had studied to be a teacher in the University of the Emerald. First, she had not found a job in her home city. So she continued to live with her parents. Now she had her own house and had a job for a year.

She turned and went back to read the information about the students. 'A girl is green?' she said hard to no one. 'That must be a mistake.' She had seen a lot of strange things in the Emerald city but never anyone with a green skin.

Dani started to think about it and finally decided that she will wait and see what the child in it really looks like. Dani continued reading. Her grades were fine Ooh the poor child has lost her mother. How hard it must have been she thought. She knew how bad it is to lose someone dear.

She heard someone knocking on her door.

'Good afternoon director Lemaan'

'Aah good afternoon Miss Nilok, I see that you are preparing them well. That's nice.'

Dani nodded. 'Do the children already know that I am coming?'

Lemaan shake his head. 'No, if it's Monday I'll walk you into the classroom. I'll introduce you and the rest is up to you.'

Dani nodded

'Don't make it too late.' said Lemaan as he walked away.

'No, I have read all the information. I'll see you on Monday.'

There weren't many special children in her class. She had made some notes for the students who had low scores. But she also started to give some extra work to the children who can handle more difficult assignments. She picked up a pile of assignments and started sorting them.

Dani put the papers back in the cupboard. She looked at her classroom one more time.

My classroom, she thought proudly. Who would have thought that?

She quickly went home and started writing a letter to her parents about her first experiences and that she was excited to start teaching.
