A/N: A request from Retro Mania. Hope you like it!

An air of excitement filled the small park area. They all stood gathered around some kind of tarped object. A group of 10 stood closer than anyone else.

Augustus Gloop and his mother eagerly awaited the unveiling, Augustus chomping down a Wonka Bar as they waited. Short and fat, Augustus was far from the picture of perfect health, a figure gained from a lifetime of gorging on sweets and meat from his father's butcher shop. His mother did not help matters, encouraging him by entering him into many eating competitions and indulging his every wish for candy. Still, he was not without his manners, and tried not to be distracting to his fellow guests.

Violet eyed the mystery object with intrigue, her jaws snapping up and down as she chewed her wad of gum. If there was any word to describe her, it was determined. Once she set her mind on something, nothing would get in the way, her many records and trophies being a testament to that. Her father patted her on the back, the apple of his eye.

While Augustus may have been well mannered despite his bad habits, Veruca Salt was far from it. Much like the wart that shared her name, she was unpleasant and irritating. If she was denied anything, she would throw horrible tantrums and scream until she was appeased. Her father, unwilling to see his little girl so upset, used his vast wealth to please her as best he could, but even that was not good enough at times.

"Daddy, I want to start now! Where is he?"

"Now now, darling, give him time. The ticket said 9, its only 8:50."

Humphing, Veruca went back to staring straight at the mystery they had all gathered here to see.

Mike Teavee couldn't sit still. Usually, he'd be plopped right in front of the TV all day, but even he couldn't miss out on "the adventure of a life time." Or at least, that's what the golden ticket he'd won said. His mother just sighed wearily. She loved Mike, but he did get to be a little too much. Thank god for television, she thought to herself. Made parenting so much easier.

And bringing up the rear was good old Charlie Bucket. The poor kid was so skinny he was almost 2-dimensional. Although he hadn't had a decent meal in a long time, Charlie had learned to appreciate the things he had, unlike his current companions. But oh, did he dream of a better life. Not just for him, but his family as well. With him was his Grandpa Joe, a man who hadn't gotten out of bed in years. But when he heard about this surprise, he couldn't contain himself and leapt out of bed and insisting on going. Well, no one was going to argue with that.

Speaking of which, all 5 children were starting to get anxious. You see, the world's most brilliant chocolatier, Willy Wonka, had designed, quote: "The world's most amazing Amusement park." Well, anything that came from his brain was bound to be amazing, so everyone was jumping at the chance to get in. But Wonka refused them all, instead promising a private tour to only 5 children. Any five that happened to find a golden ticket in his trade marked Wonka bars, and these above five were the lucky ones. So there they were, waiting for their gracious host when they heard a loud honking, and from around a corner came the most unusual automobile they had ever seen (A/N: Its the weird car thing the remaining nine characters go through on their way to the television room, except large enough for all of them). Stepping down from the driver seat was the man himself, Willy Wonka...

Looking like death. Everyone couldn't help but stare as the frail old man hobbled towards them, relying heavily on his cane to walk. Not realizing where he was going, his cane got caught in one of the cobble stones, wedging it in place as he continued hobbling along. Once he realized what had happened, he stopped, grasped at air, before falling forward. Immediately, the crowd prepared to rush forward and help...

Only for him to roll into a somersault, rising to a standing ovation. The brilliant inventor took bow before going to greet his guests.

"Oh, Augustus, how are you, dear child? And Veruca Salt, how do you do? I used to think a Veruca was a wart you got on your foot, but not you! VIolet Violet, still chewing gum I see? Mike Teevee, a pleasure. And Charlie Bucket, welcome! Welcome all of you!"

After vigorously shaking his guests' hands, he then turned to the gathered crowd behind them.

"Terribly sorry, but this is a private tour, so if you could please leave us be, much appreciated. Adios, bon voyage, sayanora, adieu."

Grumbling, the crowd dispersed, leaving the 11 to their own devices. Mike impatiently spoke up.

"Alright, Wonka, what's the big surprise?"

Wonka laughed, gesturing his cane to the large tarpaulin behind them.

"Ah yes, I suppose I have kept you waiting long enough. Without further ado, behold!"

As if by magic, the tarp gave way to reveal...

"A mural? All this for a mural?"

"What the heck, Wonka! The ticket promised the adventure of a life time."

"Now now, children, do be patient. I promise I did not lie. If all of you would climb into the vehicle behind us, I promise you will not be disappointed."

Curious, his 10 guests climbed into the strange device and waited. Wonka took the helm and threw some gears, and the machine spluttered into action, chugging away slowly as some kind of inky black substance poured out from the boiler above them and covered them from head to toe.

"Hey, what's the big idea!"

"Daddy, make it stop!"

"Wonka, unless you want to pay for my dry cleaning, I suggest you stop this machine right now!"

"Fret not, folks. All part of the show."

But worse was yet to come, as their mode of transportation soon shifted gears towards the paniting, much to their shock.

"Wonka, stop!"

"You're heading straight for a wall!"

But their cries fell on deaf ears, and Wonka continued pushing the car towards his work of art. Everyone winced, preparing for the inevitable crash...

Only for it to never come. Slowly, they all opened their eyes to the most astonishing sight. The world around them had disappeared, replaced with that of the mural they had just been headed towards. Cautiously, they looked at themselves. Their entire bodies looked like some kind of..Cartoon! Bright and animated.

"Woah!"

"This is amazing!"

"Ja!"

"Hey, this reminds me of that Disney movie we saw about the puppet coming to life, but the fox and..."

"Settle down, Mike."

No one was afraid anymore. Now they wanted more! Wonka laughed at their newfound excitement.

"Come on. Advenutre awaits!"
