Way under the surface of the earth we found a gigantic cave system. For hours we would just walk through the darkness. It was silent except for the rare moments one of us talked. Sometimes a painful scream could be heard coming from even further beneath the surface. As we traveled further down towards the screams we heard, hours or even days went by. Time ment little while being in this darkness. Where we would encounter rats or other smaller animals at the beginning of this endless mess of dark corridors, further down the caves we would encounter nothing but darkness and silence, a fragile silence which is regularly broken by the agonizing screams of whatever awaited us. As we continued our journey into the unknown the screams got even more terrible. Then it seems like it was not one, but hundreds of voices screaming. Some of us got afraid and the further we went down the smaller our group got, as the afraid ran back to the surface. Eventually I was alone. I navigated through some passages until I could see some light. As I traveled further I saw that it was a torch radiating light. Suddenly I wasn't traveling through some natural cave system, I was traveling through manmade catacombs. The long hallway in which I found myself ended in a great darkness, darker as everything I have ever encountered. As I walked up to the darkness the screams got louder and more horrifying. The walls of the hallway consisted of cells, cells without anything in it. Maybe in the past someone or something was held in these cells, but not anymore. As I went further towards the all consuming darkness I could hear the unsettling noise of chains beneath the many screams. I passed the darkness like a curtain and behind it I could see a terrifying image. A creature of indescribable chaos. It had thousands of faces and thousands of limbs, some of which resembled arms or legs but many resembled none of these. All of its limbs were chained to the wall, as to prevent it breaking out of its subterranean prison. Just looking at this monstrosity shattered my brian. The longer I watched the creature crying, I could watch it shape and the chains shaping with it. As I watched it shaping it watched me going insane. Gripped by fear I just started to run towards the direction I came. The further away I got from the Monster the quieter got its agonising screams. At one time I imagined it screaming my name and calling for me to come back, but I ignored it and ran. I ran for hours until I could finally see the warm light of the sun.
