The Odd Couple

Here is Cat, and here is Dog,

Joined together like a log.

Sharing all, from fleas to gnats,

And getting into many spats.

Single bed, and pair of pillows,

No prospect of wives, and then widows.

Cause how does one hope to get chicks,

When you're tethered like a bag of bricks?

So this is Cat, and Dog's life,

One of arguments and strife.

But I wonder, if separated,

Would time together still be hated?

For where else could you find a couple,

Where everything you do is double?

And while they both threaten to rend,

Wager, deep down, closest of friends.
