Autumntime had come to Dream Land, the green leaf filled trees were turning into orange leaf filled trees and many leaves were falling from the tree, the weather was changing and the temperature was becoming slightly cold.

Winter was coming soon, only a few weeks were left until it started snowing, but there was one particular day that many were looking forward to before the winter started and that was the holiday known as Thanksgiving by other races.

Thanksgiving, a time for everyone came together, a time to eat a food known as a Turkey and a time to be thankful for everything in life. It came once a year, every November nearing the end of the month on the final week of it.

It was a blissful November day, Thanksgiving here and the denizens of Dream Land were finishing decorations as they made final preparations, they would be having a Thanksgiving feast and a Thanksgiving festival.

Kirby, Dream Land's defender, was thankful for countless things in life, that he was blessed, that everything was safe and that he had good friends. But what were folks like King Dedede thankful for other than having friends? Being a king?

Perhaps Kirby would find out later when he saw Dedede or maybe there was no need to ask the king and Kirby already knew what Dedede was thankful for, besides, Dream Land was full of surprises waiting to pop up.

And speaking of surprises...

The puffball heard a noise nearby and turned, a curious and puzzled look crossing his face when he spotted something out of the unordinary: A brown headless food turkey walking along the road, its feet the only part of the creature making pat pat pat noises.

Kirby stood up, fascinated by this oddity, the living headless turkey creature looked delicious, maybe it could be used for the upcoming dinner. He walked towards the turkey, slowly and quiet like, even attempting to sneak up on it.

Unfortunately, the puffball was not good at sneaking since his feet were a bit loud and, as he got nearer, the turkey turned and, despite not having a head, spotted Kirby. The hero waved and casually said, "Hiiiiiiii."

Making a noise that sounded like a shriek of terror, the turkey took off running. Nuh uh uh, you're not getting away. Kirby thought and dashed after it, taking off across the dirt road as fast as his little legless feet could carry him .

As he ran, the puffball considered attempting to use his vacuum inhale while running only to think about what could happen if he did, he'd tried to do that once and he'd almost lost balance. Doing that while stationary was easier.

Nonetheless, Kirby had to catch that turkey. He pursued the headless creature through the woods and flowers passed by, a few Waddle Dees popped out to watch the oddity unfolding with one Waddle Doo joining in the chase alongside Kirby.

The puffball took notice to his new companion joining in on the chase and shook his hand before focusing with all his focus and strength to try and keep up with the turkey, the creature couldn't escape, it was too delicious and too important to escape.

Kirby and Waddle Doo ran as fast as they could, trying to run faster as the turkey seemingly began picking up speed after they crossed over a pile of boulders and broke through a clump of bushes.

Close by, Whispy Woods was napping peacefully, unworried about any dangers to his domain and having his peace be interrupted when he heard feet pattering and awoke to see a turkey running in his direction with Kirby and a Waddle Doo right behind it.

"What is this?" The talking tree mumbled, "I'm trying to sleep here!" The living, headless turkey ran past, followed suit by Kirby and Waddle Doo. Curious about what was unfolding, Whispy rose from his spot and ran on his root-y legs.

Almost feeling exhausted already, Kirby got out an M Apple and popped it in his mouth, regaining his strength at once and just as he took notice to the fact that Whispy Woods was right behind him, joining in on the chase too.

The chase was now out of the woods and right into Autum Valley, full of orange trees and orange flowers. Squirrels raced everywhere, gathering acorns for the coming winter. The turkey was now crossing a bridge over the lake, its feet pattering on the wood.

Kirby and Waddle Doo raced over the bridge, keeping up with it, but when Whispy tried to cross, the bridge broke beneath his weight and he fell into the river which carried him all the way to a waterfall that lead down to the lake below.

In an attempt to try and lose its pursuers, the turkey, somehow having a ton of intelligence, took a right down a forking path towards a cave. Surprised, Kirby and Waddle Doo took the forward path, knowing how they'd possibly catch up.

Just as they were heading forward and the turkey was going into the cave tunnel, Dedede and Meta Knight joined in, obviously seeing what was going on. As if they knew where the turkey was, the party ran faster and faster until they were at a convergence.

Close by, the turkey had run out of the cave and was just about to go on the forward path again when Kirby and his friends caught up and pounced on the turkey, pinning it down with all their strength until it could not resist and surrendered.

Victorious, the group high-fived and scooped up their yummy catch before heading off to the Thanksgiving Festival where they would dig in to this delicious turkey, but the creature had to be cooked first and everyone knew what to do.

Hours later, at the festival and once everyone had gathered, they all dug into their delicious turkey meals which included the caught turkey that had previously been alive. Dedede allowed Kirby to devour the leftovers and so the puffball enjoyed Thanksgiving.
