I totally dig this, and I feel like it got lost on tumblr bc my faves weren't around to see it ;-;

it's a week until school starts, how exciting!

Natsu could always say he was a careful person. Sure, he got into scraps and fights at school, but nothing ever serious. His friends, that was just their way of talking to one another. No one ever meant anything more than a small bruise here or there.

He was always home before dark on school nights, never out too late on weekends. He feared his friend, Erza, more than his parents. She would have had his head if dared worry any member of his family.

Home wasn't far from the school either, a ten-minute walk at most. And all of them grew up in the area, so shop owners in busy districts knew who was who. The kids were safe by all means.

So how Natsu went missing for three days without anyone knowing what happened was a true mystery. Not even Natsu knew where he was.

It all happened so fast, a gigantic blur that no one could fit the pieces into.

He went out for ice cream, getting one at the corner store across from the park outside his house.

It was a five-minute task, one he performed every Saturday evening.

He always picked the same flavor, spicy chili and lime.

The clerk always scoffed, shaking his head with disgust. Natsu was definitely the only one in town who ate those.

He left within record time, walking back on the thin sidewalk he always took.

It was then, halfway into the park, that things got a little out of sorts.

He blinked, and suddenly, she was there. Like she had fallen from the sky or ridden the moonbeams down to him.

Her clothes were more traditional, surely something some samurai's daughter would have worn half a century ago.

She made him stop in his tracks, though not by force. Natsu was mesmerized, drawn into whatever she was. He dropped his popsicle without thought, walking towards her as she stretched out a hand.

Natsu was a dragon, one with an amazing sense of smell and cat-like reflexes. None of his alarms were set off, so she couldn't be considered evil. He wouldn't even allow the thought to enter his mind.

He couldn't explain his sudden intrigue, how she managed to capture him, where she took him.

He remembered nothing but the way she whispered his name in his ear,

"Natsu…"

His throat felt dry, his fingers carried a fuzzy feeling down to his stomach.

Suddenly he was in a house, an old one. The tatami mats and paper doors looked worn but not torn or dusty.

But he didn't really focus on the interior, just her.

The way she looked in low candlelight, her hair a stunningly golden shade.

That shiny gold, it attracted him. He stopped them in the hallway, grabbing her arm. She turned to look at him curiously, giggling as he buried his nose atop her head.

"Silly, we're almost there. You can admire my hair in a second,"

He complied, the room she led them to completely bare. The only things there were, was a dresser with candles sitting on top, and a futon laid carefully on the floor.

She kissed him first, a gentle and slow kiss. He was inexperienced, the blonde giggling excitedly when he reciprocated the touch.

The lust in her drive sparked the instinct within himself, her grin spreading as his eyes glowed.

"My dragon…I missed you,"

"I've been so cold since you've been gone," She pouted her lips, drawing herself closer to him.

He stared at her curiously, watching as she pulled at her kimono.

"Don't you remember?"

She revealed the space between her neck and shoulder, a fading flame etched into her skin. His eyes were wide and confused, eyebrows knotted together. He had a…since when? There was never an absence in his life to be near her…was it a trick? But her affinity for his flames…

He watched her reveal a tiny ball of fire, one he somehow recognized.

"We've been getting along," She hummed, her soft smile beaming on the energetic flames. "Your fire and I,"

It suddenly grew, taking on a form he wasn't used to. Was his magic capable of this? He hadn't realized.

"Please remember,"

Her attention turned to the now human-sized flame, its face matching his own in a way. It was blank, with no noticeable eyes or lips to speak of. But it's emotion was easy to feel, the ball of fire radiating life.

The blonde girl giggled again, retracting her arms to wrap around the spirit's shoulders. She glanced towards Natsu, lips pulling into a smirk before they kissed.

It lasted a brief moment, the girl still in his lap. She seemed to be holding herself back, returning her attention to the spacey dragon.

She kissed him without saying anything, the warmth of his fire on her lips. He liked that feeling, following it as she released their embrace.

"Tell me my name," There was a hint of desperation in her voice, one she tried her best not to let him hear. But didn't she know how perceptive he was? Especially when faced with his mate. His poor lonely mate he hadn't known about.

He searched his brain, looking into her eyes. Who was she? There was no mistaking his magic that surrounded her, that dwelled within her. She was his, but since when?

"Luce," His voice answered for itself, like a reflex to calm the wavering in her eyes.

He decided that he loved her smile, the curve of her lips, the smell of her elated happiness. She hugged him, squeezing tightly as she squealed.

"Oh, you do remember," She kissed him again, moaning lightly as this one was much more passionate. "My love, you do remember,"

He wanted to remember more; where was this mental block coming from? Each touch and taste gave his body a faint memory; he knew where to hold her, where she liked to be touched. But he couldn't form any coherent thoughts, no images in his mind of her. His body moved on its own to remember her, to make sure she didn't feel lonely.

Her kisses became more fervent, her body grinding slightly into his lap. He followed her lead, hands settled on her hips. She bruised his lips and charmed his tongue from its hiding place, both of their pulses quickening.

"I'm used to kissing Salamander," She confessed with low-lidded eyes, weaning off of hard pecks while she spoke. "His fire was really overwhelming at first, but I like how hot he is,"

The sprite sat beside them moved to hold her from behind, his flames kissing her neck.

"Don't be afraid to feed me some," Her finger pushed itself through their kiss, settling on the dip of his tongue. "I love the taste of your fire,"

He ran in auto-pilot, moving to her every word and subtle demand. She would always have what she wanted from him, no matter the feat.

She bounced up excitedly as the golden flames melted between them, the two preoccupied as Salamander continued to mildly provide pleasure. Things were even hotter with him behind her, her hunger careening for more.

Salamander pulled on her obi, loosening the fabric and setting it off to the side.

"Do you remember our first time?" Lucy asked, letting the rest of her clothing pool around her. "When you marked me?"

She led his fingers to touch the now bright flame etched into her skin, the thin lines around it dancing with color.

He shook his head, the image unclear. But spoke as he held her hand.

"You…were in trouble," A slight moan passed through her lips as the fire kneaded her breasts, the uncovered globes hanging before him. "I stopped them, my dragon, he…"

"Mhm," She guided his hands to do the same, his fingers sinking into her soft flesh. "Two years ago,"

"You were so…so hungry…" He winced, hurt by the underlying consciousness of his dialogue. "We both…both..."

"I remember the morning after," She spoke between kisses, swapping flames with Salamander. "You were so cute and shy, so nice to me. You held me like I was going to break, you always do,"

He let out a frustrating groan, wishing he could see the day she spoke of.

"We spent the whole day together," She flinched as Natsu brought his lips down onto her nipple, his tongue rolling over the pert button. "You marked me at midnight and left me with Salamander,"

Preoccupied with pleasure, they turned their focus back to deep breaths and sensation.

He bruised her chest with bites and kisses, nipples moist with saliva, a trail clinging to his bottom lip.

"Lucy," His deep voice shivered through her body, the young succubus writhing from overstimulation. He sucked on her neck, breathing in the energy of her thumping pulse point. Her lips were puckered and red from Salamander's attention, his hands now spreading her legs.

She flinched, crooning as his fingers lightly toyed with her clit. The fire trickled down like droplets of water, kissing corners and driving her want.

The dragon followed the sweet scent, not knowing just how much he missed it. How addicting it was.

He dove into it like an addict deprived of his obsession, ears filled with her haughty moans.

His tongue rolled over her dripping core, Salamander's fingers still massaging her hardened bud.

Their sync matched up, Lucy unable to do anything but struggle for release in their arms. It was too much too suddenly. Salamander was always slow and precise, making sure to caress every part of her before finishing her off. Natsu was quick and agile, pushing her to the edge to bring her to that edge over and over again. Her satisfaction was a thousand times more important than his; both entities could agree on that.

She came, their names spilling from her lips over and over again—music to their ears.

He pushed his fingers into her next, leaving no time for her to rest between highs. Both wanted to ebb her towards another climax; nothing would make them happier.

He devoured the rich honey she spilled, licking it from his palm and fingertips, dangerous eyes staring at her spent body.

Her fingers brushed against his boner as she sat up, Salamander keeping her steady.

Natsu kissed her as she stroked him through his pants, his groans becoming more vocal. She giggled as he purred, almost rubbing himself against her.

There wasn't much time left, she could feel their reality falling apart as time went on. Unzipping his pants, she pushed them towards their final moment together.

She filled him up, the sensation much different than her fiery companion. He was thick and warm, pulsing and twitching within her. His body held itself stiffly, her smile spreading as she helped him relax.

Her hips moving forward was enough to ignite the muscle memory his body had hidden away. Excitement and adrenaline quickly filled her bloodstream as he took hold of her hips.

Salamander held her waist, Lucy gasping as he let himself into her other entrance.

Oh…she was going to get addicted to this feeling.

Both were rough, moving in sync as they showered her with power and ashes. The fire in her belly swarmed and grew in response to its master, binding with her blood, practically lighting her on fire.

He swallowed her cries of pleasure, smoke rising from his body. It felt so good inside of her, his dick hitting the deepest parts of her, strained and sucked in by her tight folds.

The emptiness he hadn't noticed in himself filled up as he held her, as both dragon and fire claimed their sweet mate. She was utterly and entirely his, one thought that was able to resonate properly in his mind.

Natsu gasped as he shot out of bed, covered in sweat, sheets and clothes clinging to his body.

His wide eyes met the expanse of his room, the unjarring feeling of unfamiliarity stripping itself away.

He shook his head, shrugging as he got out of bed. Must've just been an off dream.

He calmly began to get ready for the day, hopping in the shower after discarding his clothes.

The sunlight streamed in through his bathroom window, the sunshine making him excited for the day. Somehow, everything just felt right.

Changing into his uniform, he slipped his phone into his pocket without bothering to check it, drying his hair as he hopped down the stairs.

"Good morning!" He spread his famous grin, a confused look taking over as his parents stared at him like he was a ghost.

"Uh…what's up, guys? What're you—" He was quickly silenced as they rushed toward him, strangling the air out of his body.

"Where the hell have you been?!" Grandine shouted, pulling him every which way as she began to inspect his body.

"Natsu Dragneel, you answer your mother right now!" Igneel bellowed as he stood with his arms crossed, locked between a look of anger and hurt.

"I was five minutes late for breakfast, what's up with the third degree?!" He yelped as his mom yanked down his pants, looking over his legs to make sure there weren't any scars.

"Don't act like you don't know," Grandine rose on her feet, holding back her tears as she pointed her finger at him. "Young man, you've been gone for three days!"

"…No I haven't?" His dad glared at him, taking out his phone as he pulled up his pants.

"It's Monday," He strained out, the anger quickly falling into crazed worry. "Natsu, you've been gone since Thursday night,"

"I just went out to get an ice cream," Natsu shook his head, his parents looking at one another. "That was last night."

"You never came back," Grandine began to bawl, wide eyes staring at her son. "Natsu, we couldn't even follow your scent. You disappeared."

"That's…no, that's impossible…" His eyebrows knotted together, his hand diving into his pocket for his phone. "What the…"

His notifications were full of missed calls and unread messages, the voice-mail blinking to be answered. His parents called over and over, his friends, even close teachers.

"Dad," Natsu shook his head and gulped. "Dad, I swear, I remember coming back to bed right after that. I…I couldn't have been gone…"

"We're taking you to the hospital right now," Igneel said, pulling on his arm. "Grandine, let's go."

Natsu sat in disbelief, sitting on his father's back as they flew to the hospital. He let Grandine hold him, his mother crying onto his shirt. She kept moving her hands, making sure he was real, unable to handle the reality if it was only a dream. He'd never seen her so broken before.

His grandmother, Grandine's mom, owned the building, so no one questioned it when they barreled into her office.

Porlyusica was just as flabbergasted to see Natsu in one piece, seemingly unharmed.

They dragged him into a room for observation without a second thought, running every kind of test they could think of.

He sat alone, dressed in a blue hospital gown. He huffed, able to hear his parents in the next room as they spoke with their mother and other doctors.

He got up from the metal table, taking his phone from his things as he waited. It was probably better to video call than leave a message, knowing they'd be together around this time of day.

"Hey, guys," He waved awkwardly into the camera, staring into the disbelief and whirlwind of emotions on the other end.

"Natsu!" They all shouted, crowding to see his face, some crying in relief.

"You son of a bitch, where the fuck were you?!" Gray roared at him, Erza snatching the phone from his hand.

"Are you alright? Where are you? Where were you?!" Gajeel grabbed ahold of it next, his snarl spread wide.

"You wanna disappear off the fucking map and not even leave a scent trail?! I'm gonna have your fucking ass, Salamander!"

"Juvia was so worried, she and Gray-sama didn't know what they were going to do without you!"

"Natsu, can we see you? Are you home?" Levy seemed to calm everyone from their selective highs, the pixie wiping tears from her cheeks.

"I'm in the hospital right now," He turned the camera to let them see the room. "I'll probably be able to see you guys tomorrow,"

"Natsu-san, are you hurt?"

"I'm just fine! Don't worry anymore, really," He said as the door clicked open. "I'll talk to you guys then, alright?"

He hung up as Porlyusica walked in, a stern look on her face as she closed the door.

"You're healthier than you've ever been," She sighed out, Natsu nodding with a soft smile. "No concussion, no contusions, no bruises or cuts anywhere on you."

"That's good," He chuckled, flinching as she tightened her gaze.

"Don't you have any idea where you were? You really don't know what happened to you?"

"As far as I know, I was in bed the whole time," He shrugged.

"And you don't have any memories? Not even a dreams worth?"

"Uh…" Natsu concentrated, trying to think of anything that might have occurred. "Someone said something…about something happening two years ago,"

"Two years ago? Did you meet someone suspicious?" She sat down in a small swivel chair, holding her chin as she stared at him.

"Nope, not that I can remember," He shrugged again. "That was the year we went to Acalypha for a school trip, but that's about it. Every other year's been the same. No suspicious people other than ice princess."

"Acalypha? What'd you do there?" She asked.

"Just hiking, boring nature stuff."

"Well," She cleared her throat and stood up. "There's nothing to fix, so you can go ahead and go home. Quit wasting my time and don't go missing again, I don't need to see my daughter so sick like that again,"

"Lesson learned," He sighed under his breath, standing up again to change clothes.

His mind did wander back to Acalypha for a moment, wondering who it could've been to bring up the subject.

It was a boring trip from what he could remember. Gildarts-sensei took them out for a week, going over nature and survival skills. He was one student out of five picked from a raffle to spend a day and a half surviving on their knowledge.

Though now that Natsu thought about it, he couldn't remember that day and a half. He only remembered coming back to the hotel and receiving extra credit points for being the only one who completed the challenge.

But even then, he hadn't returned sick or met any strange people. He was just a bit more sweaty than usual.

Grandine kept a close eye on her son for the rest of the day, not minding her possessiveness. He would have been worried sick if she went missing for three days and couldn't remember a thing.

The next day was filled with more questions and expectations, his friends grilling him like no tomorrow.

The only sympathy he gained was brief, Juvia and Levy the first to hug him, refusing to let go.

Erza kept Gray and Gajeel from punching him, taking the first swing for herself. It was fine since the hospital cleared him, the hit might've brought back his memories too.

His answer was the same for them, he had no idea where he was.

"Bullshit," Gray scoffed. "You don't just go missing for three days and not remember it,"

"Claim bs all you want," Natsu rolled his eyes, playfully punching the ice devil. "I went out, came home, fell asleep,"

"They couldn't even smell you in the store, Salamander," Gajeel interjected. "You didn't exist for three days. There's no way you were in Fiore."

"Don't say something so creepy," Levy shuddered, clinging to Erza for comfort.

"Its just the truth,"

The truth was much more complicated and required insight from the only other person who could verify where he was.

His first day back a school was normal enough, Gildarts almost beating him half to death for disappearing. His other friends on campus were glad to see him, the 'welcome back' a bit odd but not discouraged.

He didn't know how to feel about the whole ordeal, since he hadn't gone anywhere in his own mind. But he was excused from the homework for the week, so a win-win?

"Hey, you see the new girl in 2-B? She's freakin' hot," Max said as he peeked his head into the classroom at lunch, a crowd gathering in the hallway behind him.

"Don't even think about it," Erza said, the glare in her voice as she bit down on her rice ball.

"Was I getting up from my seat? I don't think so," Gray said as he rolled his eyes, holding eye contact with Juvia as he fed her a carrot stick.

"Poor girl, everyone's probably staring her down," Levy pouted. "How can anyone enjoy their lunch while being gawked at?"

"Should I go save her? Get them to disburse and mind their own business?" Natsu grinned as he stood up, quickly making his way into the hall.

He pushed past the crowd looking through the classroom's window, rolling his eyes at the big commotion they made. Shouldering. his way through the door, Natsu stopped as he scanned the room.

"Hey, Natsu," Lisanna waved her over to his table. "What's up?"

"You know where the new girl went?" He asked, smacking her hand to high five her.

"You wanna check her out too?" Cana scoffed, flicking a grain if rice at him.

"I was thinkin' of a knight in shining armor kind of thing, actually," He chuckled, throwing the rice back at her. "The gang should meet her, where is she?"

"She went to find someplace quiet to make a phone call," Cana said, throwing her thumb over her shoulder. "I told her that the south wing has the best reception."

"Ugh, that's where all those empty classrooms are," Natsu stuck his tongue out. "Loke's always doing something sketchy over there."

"Queue the knight in shining armor, then," They laughed, Natsu sighing as he left the room. He could've just gone back to class and introduce himself later, there was only so much time left for lunch. But his curiosity was peaked, and his legs carried him towards the other end of campus.

The rooms around here were mostly used for storage or event space when the school festivals rolled around. But a lot of kids got the bright idea to hook up in them, so it wasn't the best place to be when alone.

His ears picked up the bell-like tone of someone's voice, thankfully the only one that was nearby. There usually weren't other students around till after school, so it was safe to say they were alone.

"What'd I tell you, hm? You need to be more patient, we can't do whatever we want around here you know," He stopped in front of a slightly open door, eyes locking on to the strange sight before him.

She was talking to a floating ball of fire? He wasn't the only one around here with that elemental attribute, but it was sure strange to see someone talking to it. He was jealous for a moment, maybe she could teach him how to do that.

"Just one? Gosh, you're so cute when you whine," She giggled; he liked the way it sounded. Although…hadn't he heard that light laugh before?

She cupped the small thing in her hands, bringing it up to her lips before pressing a kiss against it.

"Do you feel better now?" She hummed, stroking the flames on its head with two of her fingers. "No? See, I told you! You're going to have to wait till we get home, Salamander."

Huh? Wasn't that his nickname?

His eyes widened as the ball of fire suddenly grew, taking the form of a tall…wait…wasn't that him?!

It looked exactly like himself, just, made out of fire. Which was kind of cool but how could it possibly have taken his shape? It even copied his uniform…

Natsu hesitated to open the door, watching as they traded places. He picked her up in his arms, sitting on the teacher's desk she had leaned on. He settled himself squarely in the center, letting her down to straddle his lap.

"You're so naughty," She grinned, reciprocating its need to kiss her. "Natsu,"

The pink-haired dragon gulped, feeling his heart begin to race. Since when had he walked in? Since when had he closed the door?

"You're late," She pouted, looking towards him as the fire kissed her neck, his hands moving around her torso, feeling wherever he wanted.

"I don't…I don't know you," His face felt hot, like steam was rising from under his shirt.

"Yes you do," She said coyly, curling her finger for him to walk forward. "You just have to remember,"

"But I…" His legs moved on their own, ears twitching as she let out a light moan.

"Come on, just ask your dragon," She sighed, letting the flame unbutton her shirt. She peeled down the fabric, letting the strange mark on her shoulder show. "He'll tell you this time,"

He cocked his head to the side, eyebrows scrunched together. His dragon? How did she know…who the hell was she?

His curious anger was quickly shunted aside, unlocked memories quickly flooding his brain. He winced, falling to his knees and clutching his head. It was way too much coming in all at once.

Those three days that felt like thirty minutes…that day and a half that he didn't even know he'd forgotten. That blonde hair, that mark, that scent, that sprite.

"That sneaky beast kept me a secret from you," She frowned, grinding onto the fiery body that held her. "Good thing I taught him how to share,"

"Lucy," Natsu shook his head, groaning as he slowly stood up. "Geez…Luce, you could've just come to see me,"

"Where's the fun in that? I wanted us to have a nice, quiet reunion," She smiled, holding out a hand for him to grab. "It took a lot of convincing my dad to let me move out here, too. And I would've come sooner if you hadn't left me with such a nice companion,"

"I'm upset I couldn't be there for you, is all," He cupped her face, kissing her gently on the forehead. "But if he took good care of ya in my absence, I'm alright with that,"

"So much so that he can't handle being alone," She giggled again at the sprite still smothering her body with kisses. "We're barely ever apart,"

"It's nice to see you two bonding,"

The school bell chimed, halting their movements as Natsu was about to dip in for a kiss.

"Oh, we've got to get back," Lucy said, ebbing herself off the desk, a disappointed aura emitting from Salamander.

"Don't give me that look, you know what I told you," She dropped her weight on one hip, crossing her arms. She nodded as the sprite shrunk, Lucy's fingers fiddling to fix her shirt. "You're such a silly boy, I don't know why you act this way,"

"I thought we were going to have another reunion," Natsu pouted, tugging on her hand before she could leave the room.

"I'm not going to skip class to mess around, " She rolled her eyes with a smile, leading them back into the hallway. "You don't know this about me, but I'm a pretty focused student."

"He just said you two used to skip your lessons at home all the time," Natsu nodded his head towards the sprite, bouncing in the air as his form of nodding. "You two were like bunnies? No matter what time of day, hm?"

"H-Home is home," She huffed, turning to glare playfully at them. "There's plenty of time after school for us to be together,"

"My mom wants me home right after class ends," He rose a brow, stopping Lucy in her tracks. "Because someone wanted to play around with her magic,"

"That's…" Her lips puckered together, a muddled groan rising from her throat. "Urgh…"

"Our relationship is more than sex," Natsu said, taking her by the waist. "But that doesn't mean I don't want to bend you over that table right now. I'm sure my buddy here feels the same way, we want you, Luce,"

"If you talk to me like that…" She squirmed under the sight of his smirk, whining as he buried his nose into her hair.

"We have a lot to catch up on," Her arms wrapped around his torso. "And I don't think I can handle another second away from my mate,"

Lucy snapped her fingers, still pouting as she pulled herself from his chest.

"There…now everyone thinks we're in class,"

She squealed, excitement rushing into her as Natsu pulled them back into the empty room, pushing her into the arms of his fire. Lucy melted underneath his forceful kiss, overwhelmed by the sudden rush of fire from his lips.

Both of their hands tugged on her clothes, Lucy quickly falling victim to the urges of their ruby red brilliance.

I hope you liked it! I feel like the more I write these, the more I want to explore Lucy's and Salamander's abilities!

The psychological aspect of her being able to jump into dreams, is a good baseline for what I think can become mental manipulation in more of these one-shots eheehehehhehehe
