Christmas Miracles

Chapter 27th

When Doctor Anthony Sterling had finished up his session with Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. He had seen his wife Loreile coming off the elevator after calming down downstairs in the café.

He walked up to her to say that he was in better spirits.

"Great! Let's hope hope Doctor that it's going to be staying that way for the most part?" She responded with a crooked smile on her face.

"It will be Loreile. Just don't try to goat him with his emotions. Especially when he's hurting mentally in regard to many issues. Being there for him will be the best damn medicine for the 69th year old NCIS agent."

"And very stubborn at best in times of great stress Doctor Sterling. I know your job hasn't been all that easy ever since you had to take over for Jacqueline Sloane?" She just had to bring that woman up in the first place.

"Tell me about it! I was thrown into the fire with my first case with Special Agent Gibbs and his god damn gut feeling." He replied with Loreile chuckling at his comment about her husband's gut.

"And when it comes to his "GUT" has been right for the most part Doctor Sterling. However no doubt you know this that Jethro is beating himself up with his decision to get himself caught by Hernandez?" She responded...

"Yes, I know. We talk about it earlier on that part of his decision Loreile and why he's basically angry and taking it out on you and everyone else." Doctor Sterling exclaimed with his talking about the session earlier.

"Yeah and why I was angry as well as my husband was taking it out on me when ever I was around him. So now that I am staying the night. Maybe we will be able to reconnect with our communications. And no sex doctor! believe me I can read your mind at this time. I will need to go and thank you for the session." She will tell him with a pat on his shoulder and a quick hug before walking away.

Reaching his room and walking inside. The regular ICU nurse was changing his bandage as she was told to wait behind the curtain and she agreed until she was done with both of the larger bandages and hearing Gibbs crying out from the sensation.

"Special Agent Gibbs I will be able to upload another dosage of your pain medication to take effect in a few moments. Your blood pressure is elevated slightly as with your heart rate and your going to be needing to take it easy further." She replied with the orders for him to follow or speak with his wife about it.

"Thanks, I will try to relax nurse." Gibbs needed responded in spite the fact his wife was behind the curtain.

Since she was finished in general. She was able to write up her notes at the nurses station instead of bothering the couple. She had to smiled with leaving to head on down to the station and with only one other around...

Loreile had pulled the curtain to put it back into place before taking off her light jacket, shoes and socks with placing on her slippers to relax. "I hope you don't mind me changing into my nightgown? I need to relax in the bunk and see what you're planning on watching tv."

With his smartass tone he said the following..."I rather have you in bed with me to keep me warm. I am feeling slightly chilly with that goddamn air conditioning on low."

She moved off the bunk with removing her red robe to help her husband to move over slightly in order to make room for her and Gibbs with a serious look on his face not believing she was actually doing it.

She was able to hold him tightly without thinking about the sex aspect. He was feeling cold to her touch and feeling better momentary. He gave her a quick kiss before falling asleep and as well herself with the remote next to the tray in case she wakes and shocks the nursing station.

It was an hour later when the door opened with one of the nurses not shocked to see them in bed together. Loreile had woke. "Is there something wrong?"

"Nope! Just here to check the I.V. Solution and to check the caterer for his urine levels and rather there was still blood. Mrs. Gibbs I am sorry to be doing this to you and Gibbs. This chore needs to be done."

"I understand." She turned to her now awake husband still very sleepy. "I will head downstairs for something to eat. It's too bad that you're on a liquid diet?"

"Actually that has changed slightly with your husband able to have a piece of toast or a boiled egg. Doctor Gilbert had changed the order." She replied with the additional Intel.

"Oh, Joy!" Gibbs commented on his change of diet. "By the way nurse do you happened to know why I am always feeling cold all of the time?"

"Sure Special Agent Gibbs. You're blood count and all of your vitals are still low to have your body in shock earlier and it's going to take the time in order your body to rebuild again. So far now I suggest that you stay warm all of the time under the blankets or you can always have your wife keeping you warm?" She cryptic replied to Gibbs.

Meanwhile Loreile walked out to head down to the elevator and down to the café. It had felt good earlier to be keeping her husband warm in the bed. Though she had suspected it wasn't going to last all that long.

The nurse changed the urine bag for which was a good sign that the blood is lesser than before. She checked his temperature to show that he had a slight temperature at 99. Though the ton of antibiotics are still in his system, as with the I.V. solution and other chemicals to help balance...

She wrote down a number of notes onto his medical file making sure she didn't forget a thing. After she was done she had checked his heart rate and blood pressure to be slightly better...
