YAYYYYY! Another story based on a Twitter post! No! I don't care if it takes away from the stories you actually are here for, I'm doing it anyway! YAAAAYYYY!

The bell rang, signalling the end of another day of learning and drudgery at Brownback High School. The students swarmed out, heading for busses, or vehicles, or their lockers, or anything in-between. To everyone's relief, if was Friday, and it was a Friday on a four-day weekend, as there was an academic assembly on Monday and Tuesday which meant all the teachers were gone, meaning they had the days off. Unfortunately, some of the teachers weren't as gracious in allowing their students to leave without excessive amounts of homework or readings due the following week…

"The nerve of him!" Tanya scowled, slamming her locker shut. "We finally get a break from this living nightmare, and then he assigns us seven chapters!?"

"The chapters are like, five to ten pages each. It's really not that much." Her locker-neighbour, Cyrax commented as he loaded up his bag with his books. He was nice, but he was also a nerd, so he didn't understand the issues happening right now.

"That may not be an issue to you, but I have plans for this weekend!" She snapped. Cyrax frowned, but just shrugged, understanding her anger wasn't directed towards him.

"Hanging around the mall and getting passed by every man you see? Great plans." Sektor dryly commented as he passed, and Tanya's eyes flashed with hatred.

"Hey, not cool man." Cyrax said, stopping his friend. Sektor however just gave him a flat look and slapped his hand away.

"Never said it was, just said it was true."

"At least I'm not desperate for daddy's affection." Tanya scowled, refusing to let this go.

"Hey, can we not-" Cyrax began.

"Hey, at least mine actually stuck around."

"My father at least acknowledged I existed, I didn't have to beg for attention like I was a circus monkey."

"No, you just had to beg for attention from everyone else. Is that why you're known as the Brownback Tramp?"

"Whoa! Sektor, back off man!" Cyrax snapped, getting genuinely angry now.

"Get bent Cy! This doesn't concern you!"

"You should listen to your betters Sektor, do you still wonder why you were passed on becoming the leader of the Lin Kuei?"

"Listen here you stupid bit-"

"Is there an issue here?" A deep voice spoke, and everyone froze. Looking up, even saw the head of the school looking down at them with a 'I-don't-get-paid-enough-for-this' face.

"N..no Principle Goro." Cyrax spoke for all of them. "There's nothing wrong, Sektor and Tanya… they were just talking."

"Hm. Perhaps they should have this conversation outside of school hours." The Shokan principle spoke, just daring anyone to correct him that school had ended.

"…yes sir." Sektor finally conceded, but Tanya knew she hadn't 'won' this argument. Once the giant four-armed administrative leader had left, Cyrax pushed Sektor into the nearby bathroom. Tanya sighed and shook her head, closing the locker door and jumping slightly as she saw Rain leaning against the lockers.

"That could've gone better." He remarked in his sly tone.

"Yes, it could've." Tanya huffed, glaring at him. "By the way, thanks for assisting me there."

"Hey, I was going to, but then Principle Ham-Fist showed up." Rain rolled his eyes. "Besides, Dready seemed to be taking the stand for you. Did you really need me to save you too?"

"Why Cyrax hangs out with Sektor I'll never understand…" Tanya sighed, then felt someone throw and arm around her shoulder, knocking her off balance.

"You guys ready for tonight!?" Mileena asked, appearing from somewhere with a massive grin visible under her veil. "This is gonna be amazing!"

"Hey, you know I'm ready." Rain smirked.

"Of course, I'm excited!" Tanya laughed, the anger melting away as the excitement for the sleepover returned full-force. The half-Tarkatan had been planning this for about three weeks now, and today was finally the day! "So… who's all coming?"

"Well… you, Rain, my sister, Jade-" Mileena began listing off names, but stopped when she heard Tanya grumble something under her breath. "Hey, she's not that bad."

"Fine, fine. Who else?" Tanya rolled her eyes, clearly unhappy to have one of her classmates there was well… but then again, if there were others who were there, she wouldn't have to see her.

"I invited Barakka, but I haven't heard yes or no from him. He probably forgot… again." Mileena continued. "Skarlet said she could come."

"Really? Skarlet?" Rain asked, surprised. He held his hands up defensively when Mileena gave him 'the look'. "Whoa, I didn't mean anything by it. It's just… she's usually off doing her own thing."

"That's why I invited her." Mileena reasoned. "I've been her partner in some assignments, and she's nice, she just needs… a friendly hand, y'know?"

"All right." Rain nodded. "Anyone else?"

"I wanted to invite Cyrax… but I can't find him." Mileena frowned, only for Sektor to storm out of the bathroom and out of the building. A few moments later, Cyrax followed.

"Uh, sorry about that…" Cyrax muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. "The dude's a jerk, no way around it."

"Forget it." Tanya shook her head. "It's not your problem, it's his."

"Hey, Cy." Mileena smiled. "I'm having a sleepover tonight, you wanna come?" Her question had a surprising reaction as Cyrax looked to her and blinked in surprise.

"R..really?" He finally asked.

"Sure!"

"…why?" Cyrax asked. "Why are you inviting me?"

"I dunno." Mileena shrugged. "You have anything better going on this weekend?"

The dreadlocked-teen stopped and thought it over, then shrugged. "Sure, I'm in." He nodded. "You want me to bring anything?"

"Snacks." Mileena immediately replied.

"Okay. I'll make some brownies or something." Cyrax nodded before turning and leaving through the side doors just down the hall.

"He totally likes you." Rain remarked once Cyrax had left. Mileena rolled her eyes but didn't reply, re-adjusting her bag.

"Okay… anyone else you wanna invite?" Tanya asked, having told Mileena to invite people last week, but Mileena had been busy with school work and training, so she hadn't invited everyone she had intended.

"I invited Frost, but she said she's busy…" Mileena mused. "Something about some new cybernetic surgery thing she's helping develop. I invited the Shaolin Monks, but I don't know how that'll go down…"

"What about Hanzo and his crew?" Rain asked.

"Hanzo said he'd at least stop by, Sub said he wasn't sure, and Enenra said he'd come for a bit." Mileena continued with the list.

"Blade and Cage?" Tanya asked sarcastically, and Mileena scoffed.

"No, and definitely not."

"Serena and Nitara?"

"I'm… I'm not on great terms with them right now." Mileena admitted sheepishly. "It wasn't my fault, but-"

"So, it was completely your fault." Rain said matter-of-factly.

"Shut up…" Mileena muttered. "I asked Erron, but he hasn't gotten back to me."

"Don't expect him to come." Tanya shook her head as the trio took their leave. "He's not one for social gatherings. Unless there's alcohol."

"Mother would probably scream his brains out if she caught him drinking…" Mileena admitted. "So, we need to find a way to be discreet about it tonight."

"Kano can get us the stuff, I don't know how we conceal it though." Rain replied.

"Seriously? We're going to trust Kano?" Tanya asked skeptically. She had made a few deals with the Australian Outlaw, and everyone she made ended the say way. Her promising herself she would never make another one with him.

"You have any better ideas?" Rain replied, knowing that there really weren't any better ideas. While there were some… unsavoury characters around town, they did have morals, enough to not sell alcohol to minors… and then there was Kano. "If ya got the cash, I gots th'goods!" was his motto, and he didn't care in the slightest about what happened.

"Fine." Tanya grumbled begrudgingly.

"Great! You know where to meet with him, right?" Mileena asked, smiling at Tanya.

"WHAT!? Why me?!" Tanya exclaimed.

"He tolerates you better than Mileena or myself." Rain stated, before addressing Mileena: "I still don't know what you did to piss him off so much. He and your father work together, right?"

"I don't wanna talk about it." Mileena coughed, looking away awkwardly. Before Rain could raise another point, she added: "C'mon, you wanna hit up Mac's while we plan what else we need?"

"Yes."

"Again, I've been telling you that you should've planned all this before the night of the event, not the day of." Tanya remarked as she followed her friends down the sidewalk.

"Because I did!" Mileena protested. "I got the food, invites, all that… all that's left is the uh… 'other' stuff. That's why I held off until today, I didn't wanna get caught, y'know?"

"Fair." Tanya conceded before sighing begrudgingly, knowing the best way to deal with this was to push through it. "So, I'll go meet with Kano… do you also need me to talk with Enenra? Or do you want to meet with him or whoever sells him stuff?"

"Ew, no." Mileena grimaced. "That stuff is disgusting! And I don't like the guy who sells it…"

"Seriously? I thought you and Kace would be good friends." Rain remarked as they entered the small convenience store. The two who owned it looked up, one of them nodding to them, but keeping his usual silence, the other was on his game system… Switch, or whatever it was called.

"Yo." He remarked as they walked by. "How's it hanign'?"

"Jay." Rain nodded, the other two not really being on speaking terms with the teen. The group got their drinks, then sat outside debating where to go from here. Thankfully, they got their answer when Tanya's phone rang.

I got the S #! Bring the f%^In cash and get your !$%^& stuff. Wa%^#$.

"I really hate that man." Tanya grumbled, heading off to get this over with. It was a short walk, but then about ten minutes of weaving through alleys, around people she didn't want to look at, two elevator rides, and a constant assault of foul odors. Finally, she entered a small, well, cage. That's honestly what it was. Pulling the door closed, the gears grinded and began lowering her down into the warehouse where Kano did his business.

There were many things Tanya didn't like about Kano. In fact, she didn't know anyone who actually liked him. He was dirty, vulgar, crass, smelled awful, disrespected everyone, and would go out of his way to make you as uncomfortable as possible, without ever actually touching you (apparently even he had standards…). But what got to her, what really got to Tanya… was that he did it on purpose. He knew it annoyed people, but he also knew he was the only one who could get you what you needed… so wither you put up with him, or you got nothing.

When she walked into the main area, Kano was shirtless, downing two beers and scratching his ass.

"I REALLY hate this guy…"

"Ay, Tawny." Kano smirked as he noticed her. "Ya got the quid?"

"I wouldn't be here if I didn't." She said, scorn clear in her voice. "I have no reason to be here, and don't want to be here either."

"Really? Ya ain't here to see your boyfriend?" Kano laughed. Tanya's eyes widened in shock, then narrowed in agitation. Across the room, Erron Black looked up and flipped off Kano. Tanya didn't blame him, everyone knew he and Kira liked each other… "Hey! Kabal!"

Tanya groaned in annoyance as the younger boy ran into the room with his unnatural speed, looked around, waved to Tanya, then ran off. She didn't mind Kabal, he could just be very… over-friendly. Mileena seemed to like him, but that wasn't why she was here.

"Look, here's the money, can I get the alcohol now?" Tanya dead-panned.

"Sure, in just a minute." Kano remarked, taking another drink. "How's the girlfriend?"

Tanya didn't respond. She really didn't want to be here, but it was clear Kano wasn't going to make this easy. This is what he did, he just enjoyed making people suffer in one way or another.

"…fine."

"And Mileena?"

"Is there a reason you're doing this?" Tanya groaned.

"Hey, what's wrong with a supplier making friendly conversation?"

"I need to be somewhere."

"So, do I." Kano shrugged. "But sometimes just making time to be friendly is better than following a strict regimen."

There was a whooshing, followed by a thunk and then another whooshing. Looking to her left, Tanya saw the crate of alcohol sitting next to her, and the skid marks of where Kabal ran off from.

"But… I can tell yer a busy woman, so I'll let ya hit the road." Kano concluded. Tanya sighed in relief and nodded. To her surprise, Erron Black walked over and picked up the box. "Erron'll help get it outta here. Just rememba! You didn't get it from me!"

"Yes, yes… and thank you." Tanya said, choking on the last words as she and the teenage cowboy left the hangout. Their walk to where Rain was waiting with his car was silent, neither having anything to say to the other. "Will you be stopping by tonight?"

"Hm." Erron shrugged, not answering.

"Look… I don't care if you do or don't, but Mileena wants you to stop by, I can't say why though."

"Hm."

"Is there a reason you're not answering me? Or do you feel like I'm not worth answering?"

"Both." Erron said dryly. "Moreover, I don't have anyone to watch Kabal if I go by, and I don't like leaving him alone… he gets lonely and needs someone to talk to, I don't like leaving him alone all night."

That… was a fair point. Tanya didn't really have any counter-arguments to that. She didn't have siblings, so she didn't know that feeling, but Erron had his reasons for caring for Kabal like he did.

"Well, if you change your mind, you know where we are."

"Yeah." Black nodded when they reached Rain's car. "Rain."

"Erron." Rain nodded. He and Black were… mutual, no more, no less. They didn't hate one another, but they weren't the kind of friends to gossip about anything either. In all actuality, they probably got along better than most of the students at Brownback High…

"Here's the stuff, gotta warn you though. It's strong, and flammable." Erron nodded, setting the crate down. "If yer gonna conceal it, get some empty water bottles, and mix it with apple juice, that'll take the stench down a notch."

The two nodded, Erron turned and left wordlessly, leaving the pair watching him retreat back to the warehouse he hung around in. Rain looked to Tanya, and pointed to his car. The Edenian teen nodded and jumped in, the pair driving off to Mileena's the sleepover starting in a few hours, so until then, they were gonna crash with their friend. However, what to most would simply be a normal sleepover… was most DEFINETLY not going to be so 'simple' not when the students of Brownback High were involved.

All right. This should be a shorter story all things considered. Everything from this point forward will be the 'Sleepover' proper, go follow Danielle on twitter ( Daniell3C4st) for more MK art and stuff! And follow me ( NSkorch) for updates and sub stuff!
