I watch as the smaller blue dragon is tossed around like a rag doll in the fierce winds. 'What do you think swift runner?' my companion asks me through our link, and I feel reluctant, but she could be hurt if we do not help.

'Let us fly heart brother,' he drops like an arrow. We have been flying in storms for many years now, and he is much larger than the young female, and can withstand the fierce winds better. He roars and for a brief moment everything stills. The female lands and tucks her wings in close, and crouches on the ground trembling as the winds kick up again.

'Do you wish to meet with them now?' he asks with a jovial litl in his voice.

'Might as well. I do not think they plan to move from their spot after you let loose such a mighty roar,' I tease him. He shoots for the ground and lands elegantly before the small group of travelers. His mighty head towering over them all. I slide down his back, before he takes off again to dance with the storm. I notice that the young female watches after him longingly. The old man, approaches me first wary of who I might be.

I hold both hands out away from my body, and wait for him to come closer. When he is close enough for me to pick out details, he stops and call outs to me. "Who holds your allegience rider?" he asks.

"My heart brother in the sky," I tell him.

"Why are you here then?" he asks again.

"We saw the trouble the young one was in, and felt the need to help her," I explain.

"You stopped the wind so she could land?" he sounds incredulous.

"Why ask sily questions if you will only get a silly answer?" I ask him again. He seems to think about something.

"Where are you from rider?" he asks.

"My father is from a walking tribe, and my mother is of a people in the Beor mountains," I tell him.

"The only people in those mountains are dwarves," he says.

"I never said I was from under it old man," I tell him with a derisive chuckle. He steps closer and pats me down.

"Careful. I am not lookng to bed anyone right now," I tell him, and his face flushes a little.

"I must be careful. It is not just my safelty I must worry about," he says.

"I understand. It is hard to travel with two young hot heads," I say in response. "I do admit that we have been following you sinse we saw the young femal flying in the mountains," he shakes his head and gives the dragon and boy a glare of annoyance.

"Would you like to travel with us a little?" he offers finally.

"Sure, but I ask to see if she needs any medical attention," I tell him firmly.

"Do you know the right spells for that?" he asks in surprise.

"Of course I do," I scoff at his question. He leads me over, and I immeiately bow to the female. "Hello young blue. May I take a look at you to make sure you were not injured?" I ask her. She inclines her head and I scan her carefully. "You have sustained no permanent damage though you may feel soreness in your shoulders for a few days," I tell her.

"So who are you anyways?" the boy asks. I look at him closely and see that he is actually around my age.

"You have not been taught very good manners have you. That is a very rude way of greeting someone. Your companion was rude as well, but he was being cautious," I tell the boy.

"I am cautious too, and you did not answer my question," he says. The blue female turns her head to him and I watch as they silently communicate with each other."She wants you to know that her name is saphira, and she also wants to express her gratitude for saving her from further harm," he relays her words to me, and I bow deeply to her to show her the respect due to one as mighty as a dragon. "She also wishes to know how your male is able to fly in this," he says.

"My Heart Brother is a dragon of storms, and as such faces little danger from most weather. He also has a certain degree of control over weather. He lives for these kinds of storms. Should you grow big enough you too would be able to fly in this," I tell her. Her lovely Blue eye stays focused on me the entire time.

"Enough chit chat, let us find some shelter from this cursed wind and rain," the old man says gruffly.

"You may call me Dawn walker," I incline my head to my new travel partners.

"Eragon," the boy says petulently.

"Brom," the old man yells over his shoulder to be heard.

the four of us remain silent, and follow Brom's lead to a small dip that barely provides protection. But we huddle in anyways. Saphira making sure that her wings stay nice and close to her body. As the sun sets my heart brother lands next to our small group, and places himself so he takes the brunt of the wind. He even carefully stretches a wing over us to shield us a little from the rain. Brom and Eragon do not notice, but Saphira watches him with her big eyes.

I move so that I am cuddled into his side, and he grumbles in pleasure at having me close again. 'Were the winds favorable?' I ask him thrugh our mental link.

'Yes Swift sister,' he says. He relaxes and dozes lightly. In the middle of the night the wind and rain stops, and he relaxes completely into sleep. With the morning sun comes a different type of wind. Less severe but still too much for Saphira. She elects to remain on the ground, but I move towards my hart brother Grimor.

"Are you leaving us?" Eragon asks.

"No, I am merely too tired to walk today. I stayed awake all night to watch for danger. I was going to sleep on my heart brother today," I tell him.

"Eragon, why must you be so nosy about everything?" Brom asks.

"If you need us for anything, ask Saphira to contact us with her mind, and we will be back quickly," I tell them. Grimor takes flight, and I get comfortable. We have done this millions of times before. I know he will not let me fall, no matter what happens. I stretch out, and fall fast asleep.
