Writer's Note:

I have been curious about the Metroid series for a long time, in fact, I'd been wanting to play a Metroid game for a couple or so years and was fascinated/intrigued by it and the character of Samus Aran.

However, while I wanted to get my hands on a Metroid game and play one, trying to do so took a while as stuff beyond my control was going on and my parents, mostly mama, were a bit hesitant as they thought Metroid was a really violent video game.

My only exposure to Metroid was through videos and magazine articles, did I see some Metroid fan stuff? Maybe a little bit. As for my first Metroid fanfic (yes I started doing that before playing a Metroid game), it was a Sonic Boom/Metroid crossover.

At long last, after finally getting a Metroid game and what not, I am about to write a Metroid story that does not involve any crossover-y stuff.

Note to Disclaimer: I have no ownership of Samus Aran and the Metroids.

In the late 22nd century, bounty hunter and former federation soldier Samus Aran has traveled the stars and fought many a galactic threat from Metroids to Space Pirates alike. It has been a long time since she last encountered the Space Pirate Ridley and any Metroids, so Samus had been on the move, traveling from planet to planet.

But things are about to change for her...

She sat at the command console of her ship, battle armor on but with her helmet off as she drank her space tea. Blonde hair tied back in a ponytail and her face as pretty as ever, Samus Aran needed some time to herself after the last big adventure and space battle.

It was nice to get some down time and not worry about Metroids, Space Pirates or any other cosmic threat, ever since the day she lost her parents, Samus' life had been from one big adventure to the next and she'd faced danger at every turn.

Ridley had returned from the grave several times now, how did he survive, it was a mystery. Maybe the Ridley that Samus was facing wasn't the real deal, maybe she was fighting his clones. Were the Space Pirates capable of cloning?

The Space Pirates were as mysterious as the Metroids were, the Metroids were slightly easy to understand, they sucked the life energy out of people and were a massive menace to the galaxy at large, if not millions of other galaxies out there well beyond the main galaxy.

Samus finished sipping her tea as she began to realize that she had not yet visited a tropical beach planet or had a vacation, she'd been so busy, she'd never found herself time to go on vacation or try to find a man she could date and fall in love with.

Already in her mid-twenties and having already met countless guys, Samus hadn't found someone to fall in love with nor had she ever met a man who was madly infatuated with her yet. She face palmed, Samus Aran had been alone for a long time.

The baby Metroid didn't count as company nor did that one group of Federation soldiers she'd met well after the intense battle that saw the Metroid Baby sacrifice itself to save Samus and give her the strength she needed to survive the battle.

It was difficult sleeping alone at night, especially when Samus had now started dreamed of being swept off her feet by a soldier with blonde hair like hers and the two of them fighting side by side before settling down on a farm planet together.

Those dreams felt so real, whenever Samus woke up, she expected to see someone sleeping in bed with her but always found out she was alone and it had all been a dream. She wasn't devoid of emotion, she could express herself and emote if she had to.

A pinging brought Samus back to reality as she took notice of the blinking red light, it was a signal. She began working on the console and realized her ship's radar had picked up a transmission, a signal that sounded like it was three weeks old now.

Samus quietly listened to the signal, curious as to what it was about, who was in distress and where its origin was. A holographic projection came up, showing a planet and a small red dot appeared on it. A name appeared as well: Alphatron, Sector 1987 N-E-S.

Time for another mission, Samus thought and began setting the coordinates to Alphatron in Sector 1987, sitting back as her ship jumped to light speed. She set her ship to autopilot as she donned her helmet and geared up, just in case if there was another battle...
