Zoids: Rebelion Century Chapter 1- The Rouge Geno Saurer

"Stop that damned Geno Saurer!" A large man clothed in a purple long-sleeved military uniform yelled as soldiers were frantically rushing every which way in the compound they were in.

A man ran up to him, he was wearing the same uniform, his long black hair curling up by his cap's edges and his light icy blue eyes were wide, filled with surprise and a bit of panic

"Major Wilder, we've only got five Zabre Fang's and a single Helcat left! Do you really think that'll be enough to sto-!" He was cut off as a loud crash was heard, causing the entire compound to shake and the metallic roar of a nearby beast rang out.

"We don't have a choice Caulzifon!" The Major yelled as he gritted his teeth, his face wrinkling into an angry grimace as another loud crash was heard, followed by the screams of people. "Mobilize the Zabre Fangs now! We haven't a choice but to try and stop it! The Zoid's got no pilot so it shouldn't be functioning at 100% and it's got a damaged leg, this shouldn't be difficult!" The Major commanded, causing the soldier in front of him to give a nod. "We'll save the Helcat for if it escapes, now go soldier!"

They both flinched as yet another crash was heard, shaking the compound yet again.

"As you command Major!" He responded, his tone clearly not happy about sending those Zoids out. He parted from the Major, running to the right side of the compound and pulling out a walkie-talkie from the side of his pants. "Nearest units to the stored Zabre Fangs prepare to mobilize immediately!" He shouted. "And save one for me!"

"C-Capitan Caulzifon?!" A soldier called, his voice staticity and muffled from the walkie-talkie.

"Yes Solider, it's me. I'll personally be piloting one of those Zabre Fangs so please leave me one!" He commanded as he tried to navigate the torrent of fanatic people. "And leave the Helcat on stand by!"

"A-About that sir..." The Soldier's voice trailed off.

"What is it?!" Caulzifon commanded.

"I-It seems the Helcat has gone missing. W-we can't find it anywhere."

"Damn!" The Capitan grunted. "Fine, we'll deal with that later, just mobilize the Zabre's!"

The Major quickly rushed to the weapons cache, picking up a loaded Bazooka, he slung it over his shoulder.

"All nearest units report to the weapons cache and arm yourselves, we'll need them if that thing somehow breaks out!" He shouted as he spoke over his own walkie talkie.

He then rushed to the large entrance of the compound as another bang shook the compound.

Why? The Major thought to himself. I've heard of Zoids being uncooperative, but this? A rebellion? This has never happened before, so why?

"You won't control me!" The Geno Saurer roared, only coming out as a metallic cry as it slammed its large metal body into the thick steel walls of the Guylos compound. It's horizontal eyes glowing a menacing red as it slammed into the wall again. "Nobody will control me!" It continued to screech as it walked away from the dented wall, limping as blue electricity sparked out of its lower leg.

"W-what do we do? It's blocking the hallway" A female soldier whispered as he looked at the Geno Saurer then quickly hid back behind the door frame.

"As much I don't like it, we'll just have to stay hidden for now." Another soldier pushed up against the opposite side whispered back. "The door leading out is locked shut, and it's made of 10-foot thick steel. And these walls are about three feet thick, not to mention this is the center of the compound, there are several other walls this thing would need to bust through to get out. Needless to say, it's trapped here, and they'll find a way to calm this thing down, so we just need to bide our time."

"That's good." she breathed as he craned his neck to glance back at the rouge Zoid, seeing the badly dented wall. "Hopefully it'll tire itself out or something."

"RAHHH!" The Geno Saurer roared, causing both soldiers hidden behind it to jump. "To hell with this entire place!"

It straightened out its body horizontally and opened its large mouth. A cannon from the back of its mouth emerged as the footlocks on its heels slammed down, anchoring the giant beast in place. The fans on its tail opened, seeming to double the tail's height as bright particles began to be absorbed by the Geno Saurer's mouth cannon, beginning to form a sphere of sparking blue, purple, and white energy.

"Holy shit!" The female soldier exclaimed, covering her mouth to try and muffle herself. "It's going to use that?! I thought it couldn't use that unless it had a pilot?!" Her face went pale as she spoke.

"We've got to move now!" The male soldier frantically whispered as they both ran to the farthest edge of the room.

The sparking ball of energy got bigger and bigger, it got as wide as the Geno Saurer's mouth, and then it fired. A massive beam collided with the wall, instantly melting it as the sound of screaming hot steel rang out.

"Hurry it up men!" The Major yelled as the last of his men came flooding out the front entranceway, afterward, the entrance began to close a large steel door began to slide down. He breathed a slight breath of relief, though he knew it probably wasn't over, probably far from over. He turned to see the conglomerate of startled and bewildered men, they all seemed to be speechless, not saying a word. Much like the Major, a rebellious Zoid like the rogue Geno Saurer inside their compound was something none of them had experienced or ever thought possible. "Attention!" He yelled, causing the soldier to stiffen up, all of them immediately saluting with the hand that wasn't carrying a weapon, even in a situation like the one they were in, their training was still intact.

"Sir, yes sir!" They all shouted at once.

"The situation we're in isn't ideal!" His gritty, booming voice rang out "But, that beast is locked inside the compound, and even if it could break out, we've still got 5 Zabre Fangs! And each of you has a weapon!" The Major lifted his bazooka into their air, causing the rest of the soldiers to raise their weapons up. "If it comes to a fight, you all will stay back and provide support fire for the Zabre Fangs, do I make myself clear?!"

"Sir, yes sir!" They all shouted in unison.

Right then, a red Zabre Fang turned around the corner of the compound, followed by four more, causing the mass of soldiers to give a quick cheer.

"Zabre Fangs have been mobilized Major!" The voice of the captain said through the radio on the Zabre. "However, the two soliders sent to check on the Geno Saurer are trapped in there with it! Should we send a small group to try and rescue them Major?!"

The Major gave him an apathetic stare. "No Captain, we can't afford to split out troops, especially on something that could end in more casualties. The Geno Saurer can't move around very well inside the compound. I'm sure if they hide, they'll be alright!" His tone feigned optimism, it was clear he didn't much care what happened to the two inside. "Right now we need to-" He was interrupted by the screaming of hot metal as a deafening explosion rang out accompanied by the sound of surging electricity and the screeching of steam being expelled from somewhere.

A large particle beam came shooting out of the wall of the compound, cleaving a large melted hole in its place. Orange molten steel dripped down and smoke billowed out.

"A Charged Particle Blast?!" The captain exclaimed with sheer shock. "That thing can fire it's Charged Particle Gun on its own?!" He questioned as the Geno Saurer's shadow appeared in the smoke.

"Mobilize Zabre Fang Unit!" The Major commanded as he pointed his Bazooka at the shadow. "Men! Prepare to fire!"

The captain shook his head, suppressing his shock the best he could. "Zabre Unit, assume Delta Formation!" He yelled as all five Zabre Fangs ran forward, two staying ahead of the other three, making a sort of triangle formation.

The ground below their feet began to rumble as a mighty metallic roar echoed all throughout as the smoke began to clear, revealing the Geno Saurer's menacing red-slit eyes.

"You'll all pay for keeping me chained like some subservient pet!" Its cry falling on deaf ears as the men only heard it as a discernible roar.

"Men fire!" The Major cried as he launched his bazooka, a small missile firing from it as the men on the ground fired their weapons, be it pistols, machine guns, or other launcher weapons.

The torrent of fire hit the Geno Saurer before the smoke had even cleared, but the Major's missile blew the smoke away, revealing the black and purple beast with red vents and eyes.

"Back three units commence fire!" The Captain followed up as the three Zabre's in the back of the formation fired their back-mounted double-barreled beam cannons.

The Geno Saurer gave another mighty, earth-shaking roar as the stream of fire pelted him, wincing slightly as the Zabre's fire struck it.

"Prepare for the One-Two Strike soldier!" The captain declared on his radio, as the soldier's Zabre pulled ahead of the captain's as it bent it's large and powerful hind legs, pushing forward on them as it lunged for the Geno Saurer with an outstretched arm, ready to slash it.

"You subservient dog!" The Geno Saurer bellowed.

"This is how things have always been!" The Zabre Fang responded back with a growl as it prepared to slash down. "Know your place!"

The Geno Saurer gave a sharp metallic hiss as it quickly and fluidly shifted its body weight on its large left leg, electricity crackled from the wounded leg, causing the Geno Saurer to lag for a split second, though still able to strike. It's rear body shifted forward and it's tail flung forward like a heavy whip, slamming into the side of the Zabre's face before it could strike. It then took its weight off its damaged leg to avoid further damage to it

The pilot screamed, his cockpit shaking violently as the Zabre Fang was flung through the air, hitting the ground hard as it slid across it, stopping several yards away, and lying motionless, the pilot lay there unconscious and the Combat System registering frozen.

"He took out a Zarber Fang that easily?!" The Captain said to himself. "But he should be unable to move for a moment with that leg of his!" The Captain's Zabre Fang jumped into the air like the first, this time opening its mouth, ready to bite down with its massive sabers.

"I may not be able to move well in this position!" The Geno Saurer roared. "But I don't need to!"

The two boosters on each of it's lower back legs fired up, shooting lavender-colored energy out as the Geno Saurer was pushed forward with great speed, now under the mid-air Zabre Fang in a mere instant.

"What!" The Captain exclaimed as he lost sight of the Zoid.

The Geno Saurer raised its head to aim its head-mounted laser gun to the unprotected underbelly of the Zabre Fang. With a loud bang, the Geno Saurer fired, causing the bottom portion of the Zabre's body to be pushed up, flipping the Zoid on it's back as it hit the ground, rolling over several times before it came to a stop, a small chunk of the Zabre's underbelly to be missing, blue electricity sparking around the wound. The Captain groaned as he clutched his bleeding head.

The Geno Saurer let out a booming victory roar, but it was cut short as it actually began to be pushed back, the assault of ranged weapons was starting to take a bit of a toll. The fire from the humans wasn't an issue, but the Zabre fire stung slightly, nothing that would cause it any damage, but still wasn't pleasant to take.

"No Zoid that allows a human to pilot it will ever defeat me!" The Geno Saurer bellowed, using its powerful legs to jump high in the air, too high for the Zabre's weapons to reach.

"What?!" The Major shouted as he saw the Geno Saurer jump what must have been at least a hundred feet in the air. "!t can jump that high with an injured leg?!"

"That's right human!" The Geno Saurer growled to himself as he pointed his body downwards slightly in midair, aiming and locking on the three standing Zabre Fangs below.

"D-Don't tell me that thing can fire it's weapons way up there?!" He exclaimed. "Zabre Unit disperse immediately!" He cried, but it was too late. With three consecutive shots from the Double-Barreled Pulse Laser Rifle mounted on it's back, the Zabre Fangs crumpled to the ground as each of their shoulders were hit. The Geno Saurer then aimed his head-mounted Laser Gun at the humans. Firing five warning shots on the ground in front of them, kicking up clouds of dirt and debris, it told them that if they kept firing they'd all have return fire causing them all to lower their weapons.

The Geno Saurer landed on the ground, bellowing another metallic victory roar, though it too was cut short as the Geno Saurer was shot in the back. The Geno Saurer turned to see the Captain's Zabre Fang standing.

"It'll take more than that to take me down!" The Capitan declared as the Zabre spread out its feet to solidify its stance and then began to fire at the Geno Saurer.

Using the boosters on the back of its legs, the Geno Saurer charged at the Zabre, nimbly dodging fire in it traveled in a sharp zig-zag pattern. It stuck it's tiny arm out sideways as it passed the Zabre, leaving two large and deep gashes on its leg by its sickle-like claws. Then swiftly turning around to face the other side of the Zabre, and firing its back-mounted laser rifle into the Zabre's side. The Zabre Fang was blown off its feet as it tumbled backward, skidding on the ground as it came to a halt, blue electricity sparking all over the badly damaged Zoid.

"Capitan!" The Major yelled.

"I-it's like I s-said…'' The Captain stuttered as the Zabre Fang shook, trying its best to get up, giving a staticity growl to the Geno Saurer as it glared at the large metal Tyransaurs with its green eyes. "You can't take me down that easily!" He yelled, causing the Zabre to react, pushing itself to its feet with a shaky roar.

The Geno Saurer stepped back, taken aback by the resilience of both the Zabre and the pilot.

"Why?!" The Geno Saurer roared back, genuinely perplexed at why the Zoid in front of it would risk any more damage.

"The one piloting me hasn't given up, so why can't I match that resolve?!" The Zabre growled back as it shook, struggling to stay on its feet. "We are machines made to serve and what kind of machine would I be if I couldn't serve my master?!"

The Zabre's words enraged the Geno Saurer, bellowing a rage-filled roar as it's hand shot out, it's sharp hook-like claws digging into the Zabre's shoulder.

"You're the type I hate the most!" It roared. "Breaking yourself for the sake of a human that doesn't care about you at all!" The Geno Saurer sent a surge of electricity through the wire attaching its arm, traveling up to its arm, shocking the Zabre Fang.

The Zabre and the Captain cried out in pain as the red tiger-like Zoid was forced to its knees.

"T-That's where y-you're wrong!" The Zabre growled. "W-we serve because we a-are made for c-combat, b-but i-in ret-turn we are given love and respect by many! I am still fighting b-by my own accord! And I will still continue to fight as long as my pilot wills it!"

The Zabre forced itself to its feet and slowly and shakily began to step forward, turning its head to its shoulder. Grabbing the wire connecting the Geno Saurer's hand between its teeth and yanking it, forcing the Geno Saurer's claws out and throwing it at the Tyrannosaurus-like Zoid.

Smoke billowing from the Zabre and electricity crackled although its body indicating it was at its limit. Falling on its side, the Zabre had no more energy to give, it put forth all it had. It opened the hatch on its face, indicating it wanted the Captain to get out while he had the chance.

"C-Come on!" The Capitan pleaded as he tried to get the Zabre to its feet, but it wouldn't budge, it was spent.

"I'm sick of this!" The Geno Saurer roared as it straightened out its body, it's footlocks slamming down on the ground as its mouth opened, aiming right at the Zabre Fang.

"Shit!" The Major yelled. "It's gonna use it's Charged Particle Gun! Evacuate the area men!"

The conglomerate of soldiers frantically rushed to the left and right, trying to get behind the compound, hoping that would save them.

"Come on Capitan!" The Major shouted.

"I can't do that Major!" The Captain shouted back as he pushed the steering mechanism on the Zabre Fang as hard as he could, trying to get the Zabre to its feet. "I'm a Zoid pilot, I can't just leave this Zabre Fang to die!"

"You idiot! That thing's just a weapon! It's not worth dying over! We can get more!" The Major screamed as the Geno Saurer extended its mouth cannon, a small energy ball forming.

The Major's words struck a nerve in the Capitan, causing him to squeeze the Zabre's steering mechanism with all his strength.

"Just a weapon?!" He snapped back with widened, furious eyes. "They are living creatures and lay down their lives for us, how can you treat them with such disrespect and apathy!" His words filled with rage.

"This isn't the time to argue morality! We can make more Zabre Fangs! We can't so easily recuperate the loss of a good soldier! You know that Capitan, that's the reality of warfare!" They shouted back as the Geno Saurer's Charged Particle Blast got bigger and bigger.

"Just leave me Major! We're not going to see eye to eye on this!" He growled. "I have no idea why this Zoid has gone rogue, but my gut is telling me it's people like you, that cast Zoid's to the wayside when they've lost their usefulness!"

The Capitan hit the issue on the head, unfortunately, the Geno Saurer drowned anything the Captain said out, only focusing on the Major's words, and proving its viewpoint true.

"F-Fine!" The Major yelled as he started to run, seeing the Geno Saurer's tail fans open, indicating it was about to fire. "Die for that sake of a steel shell if you want, I only feel bad for your family!"

The Capitan cave a bittersweet chuckle. "My family would be proud of me, we all love Zoids!" He called back as continued to try and get the Zabre to its feet, but it still wouldn't budge.

"N-now i-isn't your time to die…" The Zabre spoke, unfortunately only coming out as garbled static to the Captain. "P-Perhaps you can get through to this Zoid, s-show why we ultimately d-decide to serve humans!" It cried as it activated its emergency eject system, ejecting the Captain and it's the pilot's seat into the air mere moments before the Geno Saurer fired.

"Wait!" The Captain cried out as he was pushed into the air, watching as the Geno Saurer launched it's mighty Charged Particle Gun. It collided with the red Zabre, enveloping it as it hit the compound in a powerful explosion, releasing a torrent of wind that hit the Capitan.

Steam billowed out of the Geno Saurer's Heat Dispelling Fans, roaring as the smoke cleared from its blast, revealing the Zabre to be half-melted, and it's red armor charred black while the compound bore a large melted hole that went all the way through. The other Zabre Fangs were unaffected by the blast, something the Geno Saurer wanted to change, but his systems were overheated by firing the Charged Particle Gun twice in a short amount of time and it's leg was starting to give out, rendered it quite vulnerable. Realizing that pushing its body wasn't a good idea, it turned around, using its boosters to speed away into the nearby thicket of trees.

"Don't think you've won humans!" The Geno Saurer growled. "Once I'm cooled down and my leg has rested, I'll come back and destroy everything and all of you!"

Close to the side of the compound, a four-legged figure watched on with intrigue, turning invisible as it began to chase after the Geno Saurer, its footsteps making next to no noise as they struck the ground.

"Damn it!" The Major yelled as he watched the Geno Saurer glide away with incredible speed. "The base is destroyed, a Geno Saurer suddenly went rogue and we lost a Zabre Fang!" His face went red, gritting his teeth as he clutched his purple military cap and threw it on the ground.

His eyes shifted to the captain who was slowly falling to the ground, his face wore a somber scowl. The Major marched over where Caulzifon landed, eyeing him with a furious glare. Though he didn't even notice as he unbuckled himself, slowly getting up as he shut his eyes and clasped both hands together, praying for the fallen Zabre Fang. His prayer didn't last long, the Major gripping his collar as he yanked him towards him.

"Don't you dare try that shit again! Do you fucking hear me?!" he screamed. His brown eyes were full of fury, though Caulzifon didn't seem to be listening, his eyes were shifted down, full of guilt. "The last thing we need is to lose a good soldier! And over what, a replaceable weapon?!"

Those words got to the Capitan, his eyes flaring as his eyes met the Major's. He pulled the Major's hand off of him, giving an angry scowl as he did so.

"That Zabre Fang gave its life to save mine!" He yelled back, his icy light blue eyes were wide with anger as he spoke. "It saved me! Don't you dare disr-" He was cut short by the Major's fist colliding with his cheek, nocking Caulzifon back.

"You'd best remember that I outrank you, I am your superior soldier! You follow my orders, without backtalk! Is that clear?!" His face became a deeper crimson as he screamed.

Caulzifon rubbed his cheek, the pain numbed somewhat by the grief he was experiencing.

"Y-Yeah…" He muttered as his eyes somberly stared at the ground, not really hearing the Major's words.

The Major gripped Caulzifon's collar with his other hand too, a vein popping out of the side of his head as he glared with rage, his face crumpling up into a scowling sneer as he threw Caulzifon away, causing the black-haired man to fall to the ground, but his eyes were still glued to the ground with that same somber look.

"We aren't finished here!" The Major barked as he whipped around to his bunch of shaken shoulders, by both the events that had transpired and the Major's temper. "Mobilize the Helcat immediately!" He yelled, whipping his arm out in front of him as he did. "Stay on that Geno Saurer's ass and don't let it out of your sites!"

The words from the Major caused Caulzifon's eyes to widen, pushing himself to his feet he clutched the Major's shoulder.

"You can't be serious!" He shouted. "You saw what it did to five Zabre Fangs, a single Helcat stands no chance! The moment it's spotted it's dead, it and the pilot! Turning invisible doesn't mean a damn thing when that Charged Particle Gun is so wide!"

The Major's rage-filled eyes shifted to Caulzifon, gripping his wrist he pulled his hand off his shoulder causing the Capitan to wince. The Major then yanked the Captain's arm down, forcing him down to the ground on his knees.

"You just don't seem to know your goddamn place Caulzifon!" He growled as he raised his leg up, slamming his steel soled boot into the Captain's face, forcing his body to the ground as blood gushed from his nose. "You're just digging your hole you're already in deeper! Now I suggest you shut your damn mouth right now before I report you to headquarters for insubordination!" He then turned back around, becoming that there was no Helcat in front of him. "I thought I said mobilize the goddamned Helcat!" He screamed, the veins on his thick neck bulging.

A single soldier timidly walked up to the Major, slightly quivering as he met his furious glare.

"A-Ab-b-bout that s-sir…." The soldier stuttered. "I-I don't know why, b-but it seems t-the Helcat has gone m-m-missing…"

"Missing?..." His voice was quiet as he spoke, but they all knew it was the very short calm before a loud raging storm. "How the hell…. Could it have gone MISSING!" He screamed at the top of his lung, stomping the ground as he did so, a look of absolute fury crossed his face. "YOU'RE TELLING ME WE'VE LOST ANOTHER ZOID?! THIS TIME RIGHT UNDER OUR NOSES?!"

The Geno Saurer glided through the thick forest with quick and agile movements, dodging all the trees in its way.

"Damn those humans!" It growled as it came to a stop, turning around as it felt it was being followed. "Show yourself!" It roared as it fired three blasts from its head-mounted laser gun, kicking up clouds of soil.

"I mean you no harm!" An unfamiliar voice called as a Zoid suddenly appeared about 10 yards away from the Geno Saurer. "In fact, I would call myself an ally!"

The Geno Saurer stared at the Helcat, confused why a single one would be following him.

"What is a lone Helcat doing chasing after me?!" The Geno Saurer questioned as it aimed its Double Barreled Laser Rifle at the red and grey Zoid.

"Please wait, I wish to join you!" The Helcat called back as it lowered its shoulders and then its body, indicating submissiveness.

"Join me?!" The Geno Saurer asked, genuinely perplexed. "Join me for what exactly?!" It snarled.

"You said that you'd be back to destroy that base, and others I presume, and I doubt you can't do that very well with that damaged leg."

The Geno Saurer gave a low growl, insulted that anyone would think it needed help

"I don't need a lowly Helcat's help in destroying that base, nor any base! And what gave you the idea that I'd be going after other bases?!"

"Well, I assumed since you were sick of humans controlling you, that you'd go around attacking others, showing other Zoids that they have a choice. Like me, I've been mistreated even after I've faithfully served. But I didn't know I had a choice until I saw you." It explained.

The Geno Saurer was taken aback by the words, bursting into a gurgly static -the Zoid equivalent of a laugh-.

"You think my intentions to be that noble?!" It laughed, taking the Helcat by surprise. "I've got my freedom and that's all I care about, I couldn't give a damn if other Zoids are affected by my actions! But you are right, I will indeed be attacking other bases, but that's purely revenge, nothing so noble!"

"Even still! I'd like to join you, I'll help in the assaults. My special set of skills will come in handy!

"I don't need help!" The Geno Saurer growled. "Now get out of here befor-." It's glowing red eyes dimmed as it let out hissing steam from its body and it slumped, becoming limp. Unbeknownst to the Geno Saurer, its body was more damaged than it thought, causing its body to shut down partly, falling into a sort of hibernation state where it would regain some of its lost energy and let its body rest.

Authors Note:

I hope you all enjoyed this, it was just an idea I had that I thought would make for a good story. For those wondering, this doesn't really fit into any Zoids cannon, the closest would be the Battle Story, I just like doing my own thing, and a lot of the time that means ditching a lot of the cannon, sorry if that upsets some. Though that doesn't mean there won't be elements or nods, I just like to do things as original as possible. Anyway, thanks for reading, and have a good day!
