A/N- Hello, welcome to day 6 of the "12 Days of Christmas Fanfic Palooza." Today, we're revisiting our favorite ship in the Lunar Chronicles, Cresswell. Enjoy!

When Thorne entered the Rampion after scouting the nearby woods for the perfect Christmas tree, he was shocked to see Cress sitting on the floor, surrounded by a myriad of Christmas decorations, including a fair bit of garland wrapped around Cress herself. Thorne rolled his eyes good-naturedly and knelt to untangle Cress from the garland. Once he succeeded, she looked up at him, revealing her tear-filled blue eyes.

"What's wrong?" Thorne asked gently, wrapping his small girlfriend in his strong arms.

"I was trying to decorate for Christmas," Cress sniffled. "But all I did was make a mess. I'm sorry, Carswell. I know how much you love Christmas, and I was just trying to make it special for you."

Thorne found himself completely baffled by how sweet his girlfriend was.

"Aw, Cress," he comforted. "Don't worry about it. I've had so many Christmases that the only thing that makes this one special is the fact that you're here too. Here, let me help you decorate."

Thorne stood up and made a big show of hanging a bit of mistletoe from the doorframe.

"I read about that!" Cress exclaimed. "It's mistletoe. It's an Earthen tradition that when you stand under it. . ."

Her face turned beet-red, and her voice trailed off, causing Thorne to smirk.

"So you are familiar with this decoration," he said, pulling her gently so that they were both under the mistletoe. "You know, it's considered bad luck if you don't kiss the person who's standing with you under the mistletoe."

She grinned adorably and stood up on her toes so that she could reach him better. They shared a brief kiss before Cress pulled back.

"Come on," she commanded. "We can continue this later. You've got to finish showing me how to decorate!"

The two of them spent a full hour hanging garland, putting up way too much mistletoe, nailing wreaths to every door in the Rampion, and hanging multi-colored lights on every single square inch of available wall. Throughout the entire decorating process, Cress serenaded Thorne with Christmas carols in her beautiful soprano, while he harmonized rather poorly to everything she sang. At one point in time, they even dueted "Baby It's Cold Outside," though Thorne's part was far deeper than it should have been and done so over-dramatically that Cress couldn't stop laughing long enough to harmonize properly while he was singing.

Finally, once every single Christmas decoration the young couple owned was hung, Cress decided that the Rampion was adequately decorated.

"Now we just need a Christmas tree," she decided. "Didn't you say you found the perfect one?"

"That I did," he agreed, then mock-bowed and gestured grandly towards the door. "Right this way, m'lady."

She giggled and pulled on her coat before walking out the door to the icy wonderland outside.

"It's beautiful," she breathed. "Look at all this snow."

"Aces, that's right," Thorne bumped his hand into his forehead. "You've never seen snow. I know just the remedy for that."

He scooped up some snow, formed it into a ball, and threw it at Cress. It crumbled upon impact, and she looked at it's shattered remains as if they were offensive. Then, a huge grin spread across her face, and she made her own snowball to throw at Thorne. It hit him dead in the face, and he took some time to wipe it off. Then, he looked at Cress and narrowed his eyes.

"Oh, I'll get you for that," he growled.

He chased her through the snow, his arms outstretched and poised to snatch her off the ground once he managed to catch her. Cress ran from him, giggling the whole time. Unfortunately, her lack of experience with snow led to her losing her footing on the slick ground. She fell, and Thorne wasted no time in closing the gap between them.

He scooped her off the ground bridal style and kissed her passionately, savoring the sweet taste that was Cress.

When they finally broke apart, Thorne decided to get revenge for the last snowball Cress had thrown. He grabbed a handful of snow and tossed it at Cress, who just stood there for a moment, unsure of how to react.

Suddenly, she sprung on Thorne, knocking him to the ground. This time, it was Cress who initiated the kiss, though Thorne didn't hesitate to kiss her right back.

When they broke apart, Thorne pushed Cress gently so that she was lying on her back in the snow.

"Try this," he instructed. "Move your arms and legs side to side. It'll make a snow angel. Watch."

He demonstrated the proper way to make a snow angel, then stood up to watch Cress try it for herself.

"I must say, that was an expert level first attempt at making a snow angel," he remarked once she'd finished her snow angel.

"Aw, look," Cress cooed once she was out of the snow. "They're wings are touching. It looks like they're holding hands."

"What else would you like to do?" Thorne asked. "We can do anything you'd like."

"Can we make a snowman?" Cress requested.

"We certainly can," Thorne replied. "It just so happens that you're dating an expert snowman-builder."

He then proceeded to walk Cress through the process of making a snowman, starting from the base up. Once they'd finished, Cress and Thorne stepped back to admire their handiwork.

"Something's missing. . ." Thorne commented, stroking his chin as if deep in thought. "I know!"

He pulled off the striped scarf Cress had knitted for him on his birthday and wrapped it around the base of the snowman's head.

"There," he said. "Perfect."

"Let's go get that tree now," Cress suggested. "It's really cold out here."

Thorne took her hand and pulled her into the woods, towards the magnificent fir tree he'd discovered in the woods. He'd left his axe next to it to mark exactly which tree he'd picked.

"It's beautiful," Cress admired. "Oh, Carswell, it's perfect!"

She threw her arms around her neck, and he gladly returned the embrace.

About an hour later, Cress and Thorne had managed to chop down the tree, drag it back into the Rampion, and finally get it standing up in what Cress decided was the ideal location.

"Now we get to decorate it!" Cress exclaimed excitedly.

Over the next half an hour, Cress and Thorne used Thorne's miscellaneous ornaments that he'd collected over the years to decorate their gorgeous tree.

"What's this?" Cress asked curiously, pulling out a ceramic ornament of a little boy with glasses and a pink easter bunny costume.

"It's Ralphie from a Christmas Story," Thorne explained. Seeing Cress's confused face, he elaborated, "You know, 'You'll shoot your eye out, you'll shoot your eye out!' Only the most iconic Christmas movie ever?"

Cress shook her head.

"I've never heard of it," she replied.

Thorne looked like he might have a heart attack.

"That's it!" he exclaimed. "Once we're finished with this tree, we're having a Christmas movie marathon, starting with a Christmas story!"

True to his word, as soon as he set Cress back down on the floor after lifting her up to let her put the star on the top of the tree, Thorne ran into the kitchen to grab hot chocolate. He poured two mugs of it, and handed one to Cress. Then, he slid "A Christmas Story" into the DVD player and hit play.

Over the next eight hours, Cress and Thorne snuggled on the couch watching Christmas movies until an exhausted Cress finally fell asleep on Thorne's shoulder.

Smiling, he lifted her off the couch and carried her up to bed, kicking the door shut behind them.
