After a night of restless sleep Kate and Tony weren't ready to start their days but they had to get up anyway.

Kate let out a sigh while she crawled out of the bed. She already had a headache and by the look of it her husband wasn't feeling any better.

"I'm gonna call my doctor. Maybe she can take me in this morning." Kate said not sure that Tony was receptive already.

"I'm gonna feed the kids." Tony answered while standing up. He walked around the bed and gave Kate a short kiss. "Everything will be fine." He assured her.

"Let's wait what the doctor says." Kate didn't wanted to get Tony's or her's hopes up. Even though she still wasn't sure what result she was hoping for. But she knew for a fact that Tony would be over the moon if she was actually pregnant. She knew how much Tony loved being a Dad and how much he loved his family.

After she saw the concerned look on his face, she gave him a weak smile, on her way to the bathroom. "It's gonna be okay, either way." She said before closing the door behind her and leaving Tony all alone.

Tony stared at the door his wife had just walked through for a moment before he broke loose and finally began his day.

It was a slow day at work which gave Tony only more time to worry about Kate.

She had told him earlier that she had been to the doctor, who had drawn her blood and would call as soon as the results are in, what would be in a few hours.

Waiting for the call made his work so much harder. So it was probably for the better that he only was responsible for case files today.

While Tony and Ziva were doing paper work McGee was rebooting his PC. Gibbs was gone for over two hours now and Tony wondered if he might be out killing Marines so they would get a new case. But after a short while his thoughts shifted to Kate again.

Tony was staring at the same page for 20 minutes now.

He had noticed that Ziva had looked at him a few times and he knew it wouldn't be long before she spoke to him.

"What's wrong with him?" Ziva asked Tim like Tony wasn't in the room after all.

"He doesn't like paper work." Tony answered instead of McGee. Hoping that they wouldn't tease him anymore.

"I'm fine with it." McGee exclaimed. "So, I can finally fix my PC up."

Tony wasn't following the conversation anymore. Instead, he checked his watch. It was only 10 am. He still needed to wait for two hours till Kate would come and pick him up for Lunch.

Since they weren't working on the same team anymore, they saw each other less at work. That's why they decided to have Lunch together every time they could and if Gibbs wouldn't return with a death Marine in his hands the chances were good today. Especially given that Kate was mostly doing desk work by now.

"Somewhere else to be?" Ziva asked after she had noticed that Tony was constantly looking at the clock.

"If we don't get a new case till 2 pm we will have the weekend of." Tony said not wanting to reveal the real reason.

"We aren't that lucky." McGee sighed.

"Probably not." Tony answered before turning back to his paper work.

"But if we are, I would like to invite you all for dinner at my house tomorrow." Tim added not fully ready to return to work yet.

"For what occasion?" Ziva asked knowing that Tony wouldn't.

"It's Delilah's birth day." Tim explained.

"We would like to come Tim." Ziva accepted the invitation for all of them.

"You and Kate can bring the kids too." Tim addressed to Tony.

"Huh?" Tony looked up with a confused look on his face.

"Forget it." Tim decided that he would speak to Tony again when he would actually be listening to him.

It was finally 12 pm but Kate was nowhere in sight.

Tony checked his phone nervously. He gave Kate another 10 minutes till he would search for her. After what felt like an eternity Kate finally showed up.

"Up for some food." She asked casually once she greeted the rest of the team.

"Yeah, totally." Tony got up his chair quickly and followed his wife to the elevator.

The metal doors opened and revealed that Gibbs was inside.

Tony's heart dropped expecting to get called back to work by Gibbs but instead the older man just wished them a nice break.

After a few minutes they had settled outside on a bench.

None of them had actually got any food given that they both were too anxious to eat.

"So did the doctor call you yet?" Tony asked his wife nervously.

Kate shook her head in respond. "Not yet."

"McGee invited us to his wife's birthday party tomorrow." Tony tried to chat a little.

"When is it?" Kate asked not really interested listening to him.

"I just told you. It is tomorrow." Tony sighed

"Oh, I'm sorry." Kate looked him briefly in the eyes. "Do you have the weekend off?" She asked unnecessarily.

"If Gibbs doesn't dig up a case, I should." Tony shrugged his shoulders.

"That would be nice." Kate gave him a weak smile but he could see the worries in her eyes.

Tony took Kate's small hand in his own. He was about to tell her once again that everything would be fine, when her phone rang.

"Todd." She picked up the phone.

Tony was on the edge of his seat because he knew that that was the call he had waited for the whole day.

"Yeah, thank you. See you later, bye." Kate had ended the call after a few minutes.

"And?" Tony asked as soon as she had hung up. He couldn't take the tension any longer.

"I'm pregnant." Kate said flatly.

"Kate that's..." Tony was lacking the right words.

"The doctor also said that my hCG level indicate that I'm already 9 to 12 weeks along or you knocked me up with twins again." Kate continued to speak now with slight anger in her voice.

"Wow imagine having twins again." Tony answered with a smile on his lips.

"That would be a total nightmare. One baby is already risky at my age let alone two." Kate was now really angry. How could Tony be so foolish? There were so many things that still could go wrong.

"Kate..."

"Don't. I don't need to hear that everything gonna be fine. You can't know that." Kate basically screamed at this point. Tears pooling in her eyes.

Tony tried to pull her into his arm, hoping that that would calm her down but instead of letting her husband do that, she got up from the bench.

"Kate, can we please talk about it?" Tony begged his wife.

"I need to get back to work." Kate said before heading back inside.

Tony sighed as he watched her go. Hoping that she would sooner than later make peace with her pregnancy because he didn't know how much longer he could deal with her behavior even though he understood why she was acting like this.

Tony was deep into his paper work when someone placed a candy bar on his desk.

"What's that for?" He asked after realizing that his wife had come to the office.

"A peace offer I guess." she shrugged her shoulders.

"Aren't you off the clock." Tony asked while leaning back in his chair and unwrapping the candy.

"Yeah, I'm heading home but I wanted to ask you if you might care of a little walk."

"I would love that." Tony agreed after realizing that McGee and Ziva were a little too interested in the conversation.

"I'll be back in 10." Tony announced as he stood up from his chair.

"Make it 5." Gibbs commanded.

"Alright boss."

Kate took Tony's hand and lead him to the elevator.

They had just left the building and were walking across the parking lot to Kate's car when she started to speak.

"I have an ultrasound scan later that day. I would like to have you there as well." Kate gave her husband a small smile, hoping that he wasn't mad at her.

"When is it? I should be able to leave in two hours as well." Tony didn't wanted to let Kate go alone to the appointment, so regardless of what time she would say he would make sure to be by her side.

"Half past five. So, you can easily make it when you leave at 4 pm." Kate said.

"Alright. I will pick you up at home." Tony promised.

"Good, I will asked Eden if she can watch the kids for a few hours."

The two of them said they goodbyes and Tony headed back inside.

When he sat at his desk, he earned a strict look from Gibbs, telling him that he was late.

Two hours later the time had finally come. Tony got off work on time and was home on time despite the traffic.

Kate was already waiting for him and got into his car as soon as he had pulled up the driveway. Tony could tell how nervous she was.

He couldn't help but look at her every now and then while driving.

"Look at the streets, not me." Kate had noticed his glances.

"Sorry." Tony apologized.

After a 20 minutes long car ride, they had reached they destination.

The appointment was over quickly, but Kate had immediately got a new appointment where further tests should be done to determine whether the child was really as healthy as it appeared at first glance.

The pregnancy itself had been a surprise enough, but the doctor had told them something that was especially shocking for Kate.
