Prologue

On a very dark night, loud booms were shooting in a village. The houses, shops, and buildings were lit on fire; humans and aliens were screaming and running for their lives! The sounds of laser guns shooting and swords clashing were heard. A group of pirates from space decided to land on the planet, Gandarona and raid a town to loot buildings and kill innocent people.

In a two-story house, a six-year-old little girl shot up from her bed at the sound, and she looked around and wondered what was happening. The little girl had pale skin, the color of fresh snow, blue-green eyes, and red auburn hair. She slipped out of her bed in her lavender nightgown and hurried towards the window, holding her doll in her arm. She looked through the curtains to see the houses lit on fire, humans and aliens running, and heard the sounds of gunshots, swords, yelling, and screaming. She gasped in fear, trembling from the bright flames, with sweat building up on her forehead, and drew back from the curtains. Her braids brushed her face as they trailed down to her chest.

The redhead heard the door to her room swinging open and she spun around. The little girl saw her mother already dressed, and had her sword hanging on her side. The woman's auburn hair was messy from her sleep and her tired large brown eyes widened seeing her daughter awake. She hurried towards the girl and got on her knees to her height.

"Rose, are you okay?" Margaret asked.

"Yes Mommy, I'm okay; but what's going on?"

"There's no time to explain," she picked up Rose and held her close in her arms. "Mommy will keep you safe, but we have to meet up with Daddy."

The woman ran out of the room and hurried down the staircase, Rose clutched onto her mother tight along with her doll. Margaret met up with her husband in the entryway, and like his wife, he too had his sword with him and was dressed. The man had brown hair and a thin mustache, and had blue-green eyes. He gave a sigh of relief, seeing both his wife and daughter together.

"Margaret, you brought Rose. Is she all right?"

"Yes, David, she's fine. But I'm afraid she's noticed their arrival."

"Arrival? Mommy? Daddy? Who were those men attacking?"

"Rose," David said, looking into her eyes and took her in his arms. "These men you may have seen are pirates. Let me warn you, they are not nice people, and you do not want to be near them. They are different than the stories your mother and I have read to you, but since you are a child, they will kill you. They will not spare a glance, and do not trust them. Mommy and I will fight them back, so we're going to hide you, where you'll be safe."

Then a loud boom struck near the house, Margaret gasped, and her husband held her with Rose tight in his arms. Rose screamed and shut her eyes, trembling from the sound and heard gruff voices from outside.

"They're coming! Margaret hide her!" he looked back at Rose. "Rose, I want you to remember that your mother and I love you very much, and we'll always protect you and be in your heart."

"No Daddy, I don't want to lose you! I need you!" Rose cried, sensing that something wasn't right, but was too young to understand.

"It's the only way Rosebud, never forget us and be strong. I love you."

"I love you too, Daddy," she said hesitantly.

David kissed his beloved 'Rosebud' on her cheek and forehead. The girl had tears streaming down from her eyes. He sighed as tears filled his blue-green eyes, but he held them back. He turned towards his wife and handed Rose back to her. He looked into his wife's beautiful brown eyes.

"I love you, darling," he said. His wife nodded, and she pressed her lips on her husband's.

"I love you too," she replied quietly.

David held his wife and daughter close to him, allowing their last kiss and hug to be one of their last moments. Margaret stepped away from David, and watched him take out his laser gun, prepared for battle.

"Hide her."

The woman hurried to the living room with Rose and went to a wall. She knelt down, placing down her daughter and pushed a shelf out of the way, revealing a secret little door. She pulled open the little door and pushed her daughter in. She looked at the girl in the eyes, and said firmly, "Rose, I want you to stay in there, and whatever you do, do not come out. Don't worry, we'll come back to find you."

Rose nodded and trembled. Margaret placed her hands on Rose's cheeks and gave a comforting expression.

"My sweet Rosebud, remember what Daddy and I always told you. You are a kind, caring, helpful, and loving girl. You'll grow up strong and do great things in life. Be a good girl. Mommy and Daddy will come back, I promise and I love you."

"I love you too, Mommy."

Margaret gave her daughter a kiss on the cheek and forehead, and pulled her into a hug. The little girl hugged her back, and didn't want to let go. With that, their hug was separated and the woman closed the door, and Rose was alone in the darkness. The redhead listened to the shelf being pushed back to its' original place and all was silent. The girl crawled back and pulled her knees to her chest, holding her doll in her arms.

The redhead listened to her mother drawing her sword, and getting into a fighting stance. Suddenly she heard the doors breaking down and a stampede of footsteps charged in. All she heard was her father's yelling from the other room, swords clanging, laser guns going off and then they stopped. Next, came a drop to the floor.

Rose heard her mother gasp in horror and felt that she was about to cry, but she remained composed and kept her stance, when three pairs of feet came into the dining room. They all stopped to see Margaret ready to fight.

"So," a raspy voice said. "It's only you. Where is that little brat of yours?"

"That's none of your business!" she heard her mother snap. "I suggest that you get out of here, or else you'll be sorry! Leave my daughter alone!"

"Well, it seems that we'll have to do this the hard way. We already took your husband."

"You monsters! I won't let you get away with this!" Margaret shouted. "So shut up, and let's settle this once and for all!"

Rose heard the swords clanging against each other, her mother was screaming in anger as the pirates roared with laughter and battle cries. Ten minutes slowly passed when suddenly the girl heard a knife slashing and her mother let out a cry of pain. There was a sudden stab, and a thud on the floor. The redhead trembled holding in her cry, and curled up in a tighter ball. She felt her muscles being pulled from curling up too tight, thinking they would cramp and tears flowed down her pale cheeks like waterfalls.

"Come on, let's find the kid!" the first one said.

Suddenly, she heard another group of loud footsteps charging from outside and broke into her house. Laser guns were shooting all over the place, and Rose covered her ears from the loud sound, trembling.

"Oh crud!" one of the pirates said. "They're comin'!"

"What about the kid?"

"Aw forget her, let's scram!"

The footsteps of the pirates ran towards the window and there was a shatter of glass, landing on the floor. Loud footsteps entered the room, and they halted, one of them gasped as they saw how destructive the room looked.

"Blast it, they got away!" a rough voice said.

The footsteps walked around and were further from Rose's hiding place. The girl remained quiet, and was unsure if they were pirates or not, and grew uneasy.

"Is she?" the second voice asked.

"I'm afraid so." The third voice said sadly.

"You two take her to the front and prepare the burial along with her husband. I'll look for survivors."

"Yes, Mr. Arrow," they said.

Rose heard the footsteps walking around the room, and they came towards her hiding place. She held in her cry, daring not to allow her voice to speak out, she clutched her doll, and her heart pounded frantically in her chest. All of a sudden, there was a push of the shelf, and a knock on the wall.

"Look, there's a secret door."

Then a bright light lit up Rose's hiding place as the secret door swung opened. In front of her, stood an alien man; he knelt down and looked in. He was very tall and muscular. His body was carved from stone and had a strict demeanor, but his eyes had kindness in them. He wore a red jacket, a tan vest, a black tri-corn hat, gray pants, and black shoes. She backed away, thinking he would hurt her.

"Hello, is there anyone in here?" he said.

The girl only let out a whimper, and backed away more, with tears filling her eyes again. Her spinal cord hit the back of the hiding space and she jumped.

"It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you." He held out his large three-fingered hand. "I promise, everything will be all right."

Rose crawled out slowly, but cautiously. She clutched her doll underneath her arm and her tiny hand grabbed one of his enormous three fingers with her fingers wrapping around. The girl finally emerged from her hiding place and her eyes widened in horror to see the living room ransacked and destroyed. She felt the scent of blood burning her nostrils.

"Where are my parents?" the redhead asked.

Mr. Arrow looked at her sympathetically and picked her up, and held her close in his strong arms.

"I'm sorry, I'm afraid that your mother and father didn't make it."

He walked out of the room with the girl, and entered the entryway. Rose gasped to see the room torn up as if a stampede of animals broke in. The furniture was knocked over, glass was shattered to pieces and the front door was broken down. Her blue-green eyes froze over to the two bodies that were both covered in white sheets, with blood staining them. Rose looked away and broke down in tears, letting out a scream.

Here is the start of my revised Treasure Planet Fanfic. I was hoping that this fanfic will give more character development to my OC, Rose and how she develops her relationship with the main protagonist, Jim Hawkins. Enjoy this story, and I will post more chapters soon!
