MERRY CHRISTMAS , JANE !

24 of December - 2014

- Uncle Patrick, did I do it right? Jason, the oldest little boy in Stan Lisbon's family asked and Jane felt surprised. I've never been anyone's uncle before. Angela's brother had no children and he was an only child. He and Lisbon had been in a relationship for a short time, but he's been very much loved by her family since he helped Jimmy get rid of a murder charge. And to have participated in stan's baby's christening. That christening was an unforgettable afternoon for Jane. Sitting under a tree, her family had fun away from them and then Teresa said, in all letters, that she loved him. Scrambled, surprised, amazed were adjectives he thought to describe the moment. But happy was the best of all. Jane felt happy and loved by Teresa's side and despite all the fear that invaded her being the more he surrendered to her, the happier he felt. Her police work worried him, always worried him, but now it hit him at the right point. He was afraid he'd lose her. And besides, Jane was afraid she couldn't be a man at the height of what Teresa deserved. But today the day was wonderful and as Teresa had already said, the now is good and we need to take advantage of it. So he went to continue helping the little boy who was anxiously awaiting him: - It's almost perfect, Jason. The coin still needs to be more hidden up your sleeve. Jane smiled as she answeredthe boy, teaching him a basic magic movement. Jason, ever since Jane arrived, he's been holding on to him following in his footsteps. And when Jane did a magic the boy never left him alone again, which instead of leaving Patrick tired, enchanted him.
Jane and Lisbon came to spend Christmas with her family in Chicago and for Jane, who never had a traditional Christmas, it was a different experience to see the whole house adorned with Christmas themes, children in expectation, noise and mess, a lot of mess.
Patrick liked the tree chosen by the family, it was large with many ornaments of red and gold bears, with a beautiful ribbon of bells running across the tree, accompanying the colorful flasher. Lisbon still scolded him when he realized how perplexed he had been in the face of the grandeus of the tree and then he explained that in his world Christmas was a day of hard work, because the next day the circus was a walk for families. Usually they chose the warm part of the country to ganharem a lot of money in the holiday season.
Lisbon's brothers had gone out to a pub but Jane preferred to stay when she saw the tearful look of Stan's eldest son for not being able to keep up with his new uncle. And Jane didn't think it was bad that instead of listening to embarrassing stories about his girlfriend, he'd stay here and make the kids happy. So while Jane played with Jason and taught him the trick, upstairs Lisbon helped Karen control the smaller boys, the baby slept in a good way, but the other little boys became agitated with their uncles in the house.
Karen and Lisbon, as soon as they smeared, would organize the gifts of everyone in the tree. Jane was a little worried about not knowing what the kids wanted, but Teresa thought he had a great time off the inexperienced toy store saleswoman.
-So, you and Mr. Jane, huh? It's getting serious. I think soon this family will grow even more. Karen spoke looking at the sister-in-law she knew to be reserved for. In all these years of married to Stan, Jane was the first boyfriend Lisbon brought to them to live together. And Karen didn't like to be invasive, but it was noticeable that her sister-in-law was quite in love with the blond, handsome and charmingmanwho, after all, had a way with children. -We're just boyfriend and girlfriend, Karen. Jane still has some obstacles to overcome. I think we both have fears to lose. Lisbon responded with her head down, almost ashamed to admit that many fears invaded her heart as she lived the most complete relationship of her life. Jane attracted her, understood her, challenged her and terrorized her when she thought she would realize she was the woman he needed. And she knew that the man downstairs still needed to walk a few steps, exorcize some ghosts. But none of this preventedher from loving him, so much as to bring him with her at family parties. Something so domestic that she barely recognized herself.
- yes, the ring, Stan said. And even if Mr. Jane didn't have the ring and all the past, Teresa, we're always afraid when we fall in love. We are all afraid to surrender, to take the big leap in the dark that love demands. However, Jane seems to me quite involved. And so are you. Karen spoke softly, unintentionally looking intrusive and Lisbon smiled at her sister-in-law, her red face realizing that she couldn't hide from anyone the passion she felt. Would a less passionate man agree to spend Christmas with this crazy family and fourchildren? And still seem really sand have fun withthem?
Karen and Lisbon genuinely smiled at the idea. It was true, Lisbon herself knew she had a tiresome family. Jane was adapting well, did not fall into the taunts of the brothers and if something left Lisbon disconcerted he said he did not even want to know the end of the story.
While Karen did not doubt that the man downstairs would be her sister-in-law's husband, Lisbon wondered if Karen was right. If ever Jane would take off that ring to have one of them.
Would she like to marry him? Teresa thought to herself and couldn't stop the view of her walking dressed in white, going towards Jane, saying it would be his for life. It generated a warm and pleasant feeling in it. A son? That would be perfect. Seeing Karen's face to her, perhaps understanding that she dreamed of the possibilities, she just replied:
- Well, I don't know about the future, but now it's been really nice to be with Jane. Lisbon's answer was not a lie, but the seed of a family's dream with Jane had been planted. And Karen knew.
- In the future I see that he will be a wonderful father. Karen spoke and the matter was closed. The children slept faster than Lisbon expected, Karen had said that Jane played with them in the afternoon and they were exhausted and while Stan's wife sat them in the beds Lisbon went down to see the space to allocate the gifts in the tree. And also tell Jane that he and Jason would have to take a walk.
Lisbon was in the middle of the stairs when he heard their laughter. And he stopped promising to listen to just one piece of the conversation.
- I told That for Santa, Uncle Patrick. I really don't want any more brothers. The boy smiled and completed by saying that his three brothers were enough. - You don't know how happy it is to have siblings, Jason. I don't have any brothers. But Jane didn't make it a sad phrase, she didn't want to give that impression to her nephew.
-I can give you some of mine if you want. He spoke resolutely.
- Are you serious? Jane asked smiling and the boy thought a little before answering.
- Actually, no, my mom would be pretty upset if that happened. - I imagine so.
- Do you have children? - No, I don't have. And from the stairs, even muffled by the wood and distance, Lisbon felt Jane's emotional voice.
- And you and my Aunt Teresa aren't going to have kids? I really like my cousin Any. - I still need to win a few steps, but I hope in the future ... . Jane failed to complete the sentence and the little boy looked strangely at Jane, perhaps not understanding the magnitude of the answer. But Jane knew she was telling the truth. He needed to be able to take a few more steps in this relationship with Teresa so that he could say that he would very much like to have children with her. - You know what, ask Santa a son for you and AuntTeresa. He never denies a Christmas wish. Jason spoke as if he had the best solution in the world. Jane found all that innocence beautiful, but the provocation was part of her soul, so she wanted to know more about Jason's thoughts. - Never?
-I'm never going to. Jason answered firmly.
- Has he ever fulfilled his wishes? Jane would like to know if the boy could explain the fact that he didn't always get what he asked for.
- No, that's not how it works. Dad explained it to me. You ask, Uncle Patrick, and then have to have patience to wait and always thank the gift you get, even though it's not what you asked for. Dad said Aunt Teresa kept asking for a pony and never won, but when she got an adult Santa sent it to her. And Jane didn't smile this time, but she understood what the little boy was saying and thought Jason had a wonderful understanding of life. Always asking, getting sometimes took time. - What if what I ask for is impossible? Jane wanted to know, feeling as childish as the boy in front of him. - Dad says asking for the impossible is not really wanting anything. Jason spoke imposingly and Jane really admired the education Lisbon's brother gave his children, teaching them to enjoy the fantasy, but beginning to understand that there are things that are immutable.
- So, I'm going to ask Santa to take away my fears, so that your aunt and I can have a family like yours. If Jason was surprised to see this grown man admit he was afraid, he didn't say anything. On the contrary, he asked a very different question. - With as many kids as we have here?
- A little less. Jane laughed and Jason laughed with him.
- Tio Patrick ?
- Yes.
- You're a good boy, he's going to take you. The boy spoke and kissed Jane on the cheek, saying that he was sleepy and that he would like his mother to make a hot chocolate so he could sleep and wait for Christmas morning.
From the stairs, Lisbon had tears running down her face, and realize that she also asked God or Santa claus to take away her fears too, so that she and Jane could actually have a beautiful family like her brother Stan's.
Teresa felt her sister-in-law laying her hand on her shoulder and heard her whispering:
-You're going to make it! I'm sure of it.
And Lisbon said a prayer asking that her sister-in-law be right.
