At first I wasn't rly sure about making Tyzula, but ur comment convinced me. Ther will be much more Tylee and azula to come. Also thank you for reviewing, love hearing your opinions/reactions.

This was the first time since Azula had found out that she actually said it out loud. Not only that, it was the first time she had actually admitted it to herself. She now fully accepted that she was the avatar, though she knew not what it meant. She didn't know how she had expected her friend to react, but it definitely wasn't what happened.

Tylee was still for too long. The silence of the room was deafening. It came to a point where Azula began to worry. Maybe Tylee would turn her in. Now that she told her friend this shameful secret would she no longer stand by Azula? Would she abandoned her like her mother. She bit her lips, examining her friends pale eyes.

Tylee blinked, and it was as if whatever spell she was under broke. She instantly lurching forward, musical laughs leaving her lips. Her eyes where tearing up and she fell onto the floor. After it seemed like it was over, the girl started hiccuping violently.

Azula didn't understand why her friend was laughing. None of what she had said was funny. Quite frankly, Azula would have rather any other reaction. She hated being laughed at, especially by someone she considered her friend. "Why are you laughing," she snapped at her friend. "I just told you something no other soul knows and you laugh."

Tylee stopped, whipping the tears from her eyes and facing her friend. "Wait, you're not joking?" The girl's tone became far too serious for her. Though they were only 11, both of them knew the weight of the situation. They had been taught in school that Roku, the last avatar, was a traitor to his nation. They had been taught that the Avatar had never been reincarmated into the airnomads. They had been told that the cycle was over. So, it was no surprise when Tylee asked Azula to prove it. And, she did.

Azula thought of her mother and sent a fist of air at her friend. As she release the air, she released the pain and anger she had been feeling towards her mother. She felt a sense of freedom.

She definitely expected her friend to be scared, but Tylee was excited.

"Azula do you know what this means?" She asked in a chipper voice. Tylee grabbed Azulas hand, sending a strange feeling through the young girls body.

"That I'm a fugitive and a traitor to my country," Azula responded in an almost Mai like tone.

"No," her friend rolled her eyes. However, she didn't roll her eyes in a sarcastic way like Azula did. "It means your the most powerful bender in the world. I mean officially and all. You can help the Fire Nation win the war and bring peace. I mean that is what the avatar is supposed to do right?" She didn't pause for an answer.

"I mean how did you dad respond, so you have any plans for the way? Is he training you? Is—"

"Tylee stopped," Azula snapped at her friend. "No one knows but you, I can't tell them." Her face darkened a little. "And neither can you."

"Why not Zula?" Tylee tilted her head like a confused animal. Maybe Azula was wrong, maybe she didn't understand the severity of the situation.

"Because the avatar is a traitor to the nation. My father would imprison me, cast me out." She said, voicing her concerns outloud.

"That was the last Fire avatar silly, not you." Her friend said reassuringly. However, her words had the opposite effect on the princess.

"Look no one can know!"

"You could help end the war. Azula you could help you father win." Tylee said. These words sunk in. If Azula did use this newfound ability for good, her father would be so proud.

"Fine," Azula agreed. "But first I need to actually learn how to use it." She said. If she showed her father, and her nation before she had mastered the elements she would be week and at their mercy. But, if she had mastered the power she was given, she could call the shots.

Tylee nodded. "How bout you come back tomorrow night and we can figure it out then," she said yawning.

Azula agreed and silently left through the window. When Tylee's grandma woke up, she would assume she had never come.

On her way back to the palace she felt light. She had just released this great weight from her chest and felt liberated.

The next night she went to Tylees house, and the girl told the princess a secret of her own. Her grandmother boarded ancient airbender scrolls, complete with all bending forms and spiritual exercises. When Azula asked why, the girl explained she didn't know. However. Tylee therosized that she was descendant from airbenders. And, it made sense. For tylees eyes where as gray as the sky. Her feet were nimble, hardly touching the ground, and she was anything but violent.

How strange it was for Azula to have someone who she could trust with her secrets. To have someone who trusted hers with theirs. To no longer control her friend by fear, but through trust. Her father used to tell her that trust was for fools, and fear the only reliable way. However Azula came to realize this wasn't always true.

Over the next three years Azula maintained her lie. She lived her double life. In the day she would study as the diligent princess she was, while in the night she would study airbending techniques with Tylee. And, she was good at it, because she was good at everything. In three years she had mastered all the forms and Katas.

She had once tried to meditate into the spirited world, however she was only treated with images of pain. So, she decided she didn't need it. And, truly she hadn't.

"Father, you called," Azula said, bowing deeply. She shook a little every time she was in his presence. She feared that she was hiding something from him. Over the last year he had been distant, always focused on the war. She so wanted to tell him, but she couldn't, not until she was strong enough. She bit her lip as the flames parted, revealing the firelord in all his glory. Her worry only increased as he drew closer to her. She bowed her head lower so as not to let him see her eyes. Her father began walking around her, examining her for weakness.

"I heard you generated your fist bolt of lightning, is that correct daughter?" He asked. The way he said daughter instead of her name caused her to flinch. It was asif that was all she was, that was all she consisted of. It shouldn't have bugged her, being the heir to the nation should have been enough. It had always been enough, but something inside her wanted more. She wanted not only power, she wanted respect. The respect of her father, of her friends. The loyalty of her nation. "Answer me child," he said, drawing her out of her thoughts.

"Yes father," Azula answered. She was vaguely aware that her father was now behind her. The position she was in left her back and neck exposed. She felt a shiver run up her back and tried to hide it. Her father wouldn't attack her, would he.

He stopped in front of her and held her chin in his calloused hand. He raised her face so she was staring directly into his yellow eyes. "I have a task for you," he said, dropping her head. She resumed her low bow.

"What do you need me to do?" She asked, intrigued by the proposition. Maybe she could win her way back into his good graces. Perhaps she could even make her father proud.

He walked back to his throne and sat on it.

"Your uncle is a traitor," her father explained to her. Azula raised her eyebrows. Her Uncle has always been weak, but a traitor. However, her father didn't think to explain further. "And your brother Zuko is a failure. He has failed to capture the Avatar." He paused, asif to add emphasis on this. Azula's eyebrows knit together in confusion. She believed when her father had sent her brother after the Avatar he had done it knowing he would never find it. Either way, she did agree with him, Zuzu was a failure. However, she failed to see his point in telling her this. "Bring them to me daughter, so that they may face their punishment for crimes against our family."

Without thinky Azula bolted upright, standing face to face with her father. His face showed amusement at this sudden action, which drove to anger her more.

"Father, Zuko has committed no crimes that have not been punished. He has been banished and sent on a fool's errand. Just because he cannot complete said arrand does not mean he should be punished more." She said, her voice showing none of the anger she was feeling. She was angry at her father for what he had already put her brother through. It confused her where this anger had come from, and why she was expressing it now, but she didn't care. Her brother didn't deserve the fate he had been given, neither did she. This thought puzzled her, because she didn't know what faith she was talking about, the avatar, or the fire princess.

"It was no fool's errand Azula, the Avatar is alive, and my son had many chances to capture him. His time disgracing our family is over." Ozia said. And suddenly all her worry for Zuzu was gone, replaced by worry for herself. How did he know the avatar was alive. If he knew that much, he must know it was her. But, her father had said him. Ozia noticed the confusion on his daughter's face and clarified. "Apparently the avatar is a 12 year old airbender. Only your brother could lose to such a weakling."

A thousand questions were going through her mind, but she asked one. "Why didn't you tell me?" She said, a little hurt. He sighed, walking over to his daughter.

"Because you, my child, had much more important things to worry yourself with. I bring this to you know because only you can return your brother and uncle to their rightful place." Her father smeared. "The palace prison." As he said this, he rubbed her cheak. This endearing gesture caused her to forget about her worries for her brother. The only thing she needed to worry about was making her father proud.

She smiled at him, "it shouldn't be too hard."

The next day, while they were sailing to the earth kingdom, Azula had time to ponder what had happened. Her father had said the avatar was alive, and that he was a boy. Not only that, he said the avatar was an airbender. How was that possible, not only were airbenders extinct, she was the avatar. How was it possible?

These were the things she pondered the whole day at sea. Eventually she decided this was something she would ask her uncle, not directly of course. She would never tell him she was the avatar, but she would dance around it. Though he was old and weak, he knew spirits.

After coming to this conclusion she became bored. So, she decided to go above deck. As soon as she stepped out into the cold air, she noticed the land. They were close, but for a strange reason the ship had stopped. As if to answer her question the captain ran to her side.

He bowed his head and then spoke. "Princess, I'm afraid the tides will not allow us to bring the ship into port before nightfall."

Without turning around to address him, the princess spoke. "I'm sorry captain, but I don't know much about the tides. Can you explain something to me?" she asked in an unreadable tone. Truly, she did have an understanding of the way it worked. However, she was unwilling to weigh another day to get her answers.

The man nodded. "Of course your highness."

"Do the tides control this ship?" Azula asked. It wasn't a question, it was a statement. A fact that no, they do not. But, the captain didn't seem to understand this.

"I'm afraid I don't understand," he said to her. Oh he should be afraid, Azula thought to herself. She was already in a bad mood, and his stupidity wasn't helping.

"You said the tides would not allow us to bring the ship in. Do the tides command this ship." Azula did not hide the annoyance and anger in her voice.

"No princess."

"And if I were to have you thrown overboard, would the tides think twice about smashing against the rocky shore?" She spoke in a smooth voice once again, her intent made clear through her words.

I heard him swallow. "No princess."

"Well then, maybe you should worry less about the tides who've already made up their mind about killing you and more about me, who's still mulling it over." Azula turned around to face the man who was now visible shaking.

"I'll pull us in," he said. With that the man bowed and ran away from the scowling princess. She hated that man. Not because he was incompetant, but because he used to be the captain on Zuko's ship. Yet here he was, helping her catch the prince. No loyalty there.

The land slowly began to draw closer, and with it Azula's worries. She was terrified of facing her family, not because she was scared of them, but because they were her weakness. Zuzu was so weak he made her weak as well.

When her ship reached land she quickly went to greet her uncle and brother. She told them a lie about how father had almost been assassinated and had come to realize how important family was. Zuko was all too eager to go with her, but Iroh was hesitant. Maybe he was smarter than given credit for. However, the next morning they came to her ship.

They were boarding, and everything was going according to plan.

"Set sail for the fire nation, we are going home." Azula said, smiling brightly to her family.

"You heard the princess," the captain (Lee) said. "Were taking the prisoners home."

After the words left his mouth there was stillness. It was asif the world had stopped. Everyone was afraid to breath. And Then her uncle did. And his breath was fire. He knocked the surrounding soldiers off the boat, and proceeded to engage the others. However, her brother had decided on his target, he wanted to end this feud once and for all. Zuko attacked Azula with a dagger of orange fire. A few years ago Azula may have exerted herself fighting back, but her airbending training kicked in. His knife sliced the air but nothing else. This went on long enough until Azula became bored, and released a stream of blue fire at his face.

Her brother jumped back to dodge the flame, however ended up falling too far. He fell down a flight of stairs and lay unconscious at the bottom.

Staring at his limp body Azula wanted to help him. She truly didn't want to end him, and she hesitated. Finish him girl, she heard her fathers voice. Breathing deeply she gathered her chi, and released the power of lightning. It was poor, cracking white in the air as it left her fingers. However, she had waited to long. Her uncle appeared infront of her, redirecting the lightning. Then, Azulas tiny body was flying through the air.

She barely felt the impact as she hit the body, all she felt was the coldness. The coldness that seized her limbs and imobolized her. She tried to fight it, but this was not her element. She was drowning, sinking into the blackness. Darkness engulfed her, and she could see nothing. But she could feel it. Warming up her body. She knew it was there before she saw the blinding white light.

Sorry it's so late lol. Hope you enjoy.
