Chapter 1

It was six in the morning and Frank and Callie were enjoying some alone time. Callie moaned as Frank thrusted deep within her. Callie thought she die of pleasure. "Faster Frank."

He complied and was rewarded with Callie's cry. "Yes!"

They both crested and collapsed on the bed in each other's arms. Frank nuzzled her neck. "You're so beautiful love."

Before Callie could reply a little voice came across the monitor. "Ma Ma! Da De!"

Frank put on his boxers, pajama bottoms, and MIT t-shirt. He went into the room across the hall and smiled at his one and a half year old daughter. "Good morning ladybug!"

Brooke reached her arms up to him. "Da! De! Icky!"

Frank scooped her up and took her to the changing table. "Let me fix that baby girl."

Frank changed her diaper, put lotion on her, and dressed her in red leggings, white socks, and a red and black long sleeved top. He pulled her hair into little pigtails and put a red bow on each. "There all done."

Brooke pointed to herself. "Pretty?"

Frank melted. "You are very pretty." He scooped her up, swung her around, and kissed her cheeks."

Brooke squealed in delight. Then she patted her tummy. "Hungee."

Frank took her downstairs and put her in her high chair. "The little princess wants to eat mommy." He put a large bib on her.

Callie turned. "She does. Good morning baby. You look pretty."

"Tank ooo!"

Callie had already cracked the eggs and she was mixing them in a bowl. While she made the eggs Frank put some Cheerios on Brooke's tray and gave her some milk in a sippy cup. Frank made coffee and put the bread in the toaster. Callie made a small plate of eggs and toast for Brooke who immediately dug in. Then she placed hers and Frank's on the table. Callie said. "Molly has her sonogram today. We're finally going to find out if it's a boy or a girl tomorrow."

Frank smiled. "I have it on my calendar."

Brooke banged her sippy cup on her tray. "All done!"

Callie laughed. "You ate it all that fast!" Callie stood up and wiped her face. She had grape jelly and butter all over it. Then picked her up. "What do you think Brooke? Is it a boy or a girl?"

Frank's phone rang. "Hello? Hi Rick. What! Is Ginny okay? Thank God she is a black belt. Have you all been up all night? I don't blame her. Come here y'all can stay here as long as you like. See you soon." Frank hung up and looked at Callie. "Ginny was attacked last night leaving her evening class. She has a broken rib and is shaken. She's afraid to stay at the dorm."

Callie put a hand over her heart. "That's awful. What did the police say?"

"They're investigating. He took off when she kicked him in the groin and jabbed his throat."

The doorbell rang. Brooke said. "Door bell!"

Callie ran to the door. She opened it and saw her brother and his very pale girlfriend. Callie took Ginny by the hand and brought her inside. "You're safe here sweetie. Frank light the fire."

"Already doing it."

Callie and Rick sat Ginny on the sofa. The Christmas Tree in the corner was lit. Brooke came over and reached for Rick. "Unca Wick! Gin Gin!"

Ginny smiled. "Hi sweet girl!"

Rick swung his niece around. "How are you?"

"I fine."

Callie asked. "Do you guys want some coffee a little breakfast?"

"That would be great if it's not too much trouble." Rick said.

Callie gave him a look. "It's no trouble."

Frank sat beside Ginny. "What happened?"

Ginny shivered. "I left my class. It was late because I had questions. Suddenly, he grabbed me from behind and pulled me between the two buildings. He punched me in the face and for a second I saw stars and was disoriented. He slammed me into the wall. I hit a loose pipe. That's how I broke my rib. I felt him reach around me for my jeans and. I pulled out from under him. Rammed my shoulder into his groin, and elbowed him in the neck. He ran away coughing. I called the police, and Rick. It was awful."

Frank soothed her. "I'm sorry this happened to you. Which buildings?"

Ginny told him.

Frank nodded just as Callie brought them plates into the den. Frank set up a TV tray for them. He'd call Joe and they'd go to the scene of the crime.

Frank met Joe outside his dorm. He would be coming back from class. Joe was walking with someone Frank had never met. Joe spotted him and broke off the conversation. "Gotta go Mitch. See you later." He hurried over. "What's up? You said it was urgent."

After Frank gave Joe the rundown. He was furious. "Well let's go take a look."

Joe led Frank to the buildings. They could see the police tape in the alley. Frank frowned. "Why didn't they block off this section of the sidewalk too? Where we are standing is probably where she was grabbed."

Joe said. "Politics."

Frank pulled out his phone and took pictures of the alley. He could see the pipe that Ginny mentioned. "She was lucky not to have been impaled."

Frank looked at the time. "I've got to go. Molly has her sonogram in an hour. Can you go to my house and be there. Ginny was very shaken."

"I have one more class. Then I'll be happy too. Vanessa's going to want to go too."

Frank said. "Why don't y'all stay with us the weekend?"

"You don't have to twist my arm. I'm there! Won't mom and dad be here tomorrow?"

Frank picked up Callie and Brooke and they drove to the doctors office. Molly and her husband Doug were already in the waiting room. Callie smiled at them. "Hi guys."

Molly beamed. "Hey yourself. Is this the big sister?"

"I Brooke!" She pointed to herself.

Doug chuckled. "Nice to meet you young lady. She reminds me of Jamie huh honey."

Molly nodded. "She does. Are you ready to see a picture of your baby?"

Brooke pointed to Molly's tummy. "Baby."

Callie rubbed Molly's tummy affectionately. "How have you been feeling?"

"Great! I love being pregnant and if I can help a family fulfill their dreams all the better."

Frank put an arm around Callie. "We're beyond grateful."

Doug shook his hand. "We're happy to help. Are four kiddos can't wait until tomorrow."

Callie beamed. "We're having a Christmas gender reveal party tomorrow. We're so glad you can come."

"Molly Davis?"

Callie smiled. "Here we go."
